Third person POV

Ayano jumped as she saw Budo right behind him, and accidentally fell down the stairs, hurting herself. She groaned at the pain as bruises were going to form sooner or later. She tried to ignore the pain that was surging through her body and stood up, moving slowly towards Taro. She saw that he was blindfolded and there were two ropes; one that bounded his wrists together, and the other that tied his ankles together, making him unable to move at all. Ayano quickly pulls out her knife from her skirt and tries to cut the rope from his wrists first, before getting interrupted by the man she instantly despised ever since she opened the door.

"You're not going anywhere Ayano," he whispered in her ear, a knife in front of her throat. Her eyes widened as she began to sweat, her now shaking hands on the arm that had the knife. Only tears fell from her face. Why? She didn't know why either. She was an emotionless girl, right? But then reality hit her hard. She has feelings now. She learned to feel. After months and months of being around Taro, she learned more and more about emotions. He taught her how to feel. He taught her how to love. If she died right now, she would never be able to confess her feelings towards him. It would have all ended in darkness, and she would never be at peace, in life or in death, until she confesses to him, her love of her life.

Time stood still for the longest time. No one moved, and no one said anything. The only thing that could be heard was Ayano's sobs and her tears that were falling from her face, staining the concrete floor to a darker color. The silence finally broke when someone's voice croaked out.

"A..ya..n-no?"

It was Taro's voice, and it seemed to be more husky compared to the last time she saw him. Has he been drinking water? It sounds like he was dehydrated.

She watched as Budo moves away from Ayano, the knife from her throat dropping to his sides as he walked right in front of Taro. Eventually, the knife he had in his hand sliced through Taro's arm, a dark red liquid now replacing the slit. Taro sent a piercing scream throughout the house, maybe even through the neighborhood. Ayano continues to watch with widened eyes as she saw Budo slap Taro across the cheek.

"I told you not to scream," Budo yelled at him. "Do you want people to come? Also, I told you specifically not to say her sweet name, she's mine, and only mine!"

At that moment, Ayano realized that she still had the knife in my hand, and that the ropes on his wrists were almost broken. She decided to use the knife and cut the rope again until it snapped, and as quickly as fast as she can, remove the blindfold from his face. Taro opened his eyes, removed his hands that used to be tied from the chair, and moved to his pocket to pull out his own knife that Budo hadn't taken away. He then pushes the tip of knife into Budo's stomach, then plunging it in deeper and deeper until only the handle stood out. Budo's mouth had blood dripping from each side of his lips, falling from his face and onto Taro's outfit, his mouth giving off a gurgling noise as he tried to speak.

"You don't ever tell me what to do," Taro muttered as he pulled out the knife. Budo fell onto his knees, clutching his bleeding stomach.

Meanwhile, Ayano was cutting the ropes from Taro's ankles, and succeeded in doing so. Once it was done, Taro stood up and plunged the knife into Budo's skull. Budo was now on his sides, lifeless. The noises had gone silent, and only blood had gone away from his body and onto the ground, staining the now grey concrete into red.

Ayano turned to look at Taro and looked at his features. He now had longer black hair, but not too long of a hair that he would put it into a ponytail. Had Budo cut his hair? She would never know unless she asked. She then looked at Taro's clothes. His sleeves were rolled up, and that's when she realized that he had scars, most likely from Budo punishing him.

Taro groaned as he clutched his arm. Ayano completely forgot about the slit. She rushed over and to look at it.

"Don't worry, don't worry," Taro laughed tiredly. Ayano looked up and him with clueless eyes as he began to unbutton his school uniform so that he can use it as a bandage. He had two layers of clothing; one of course was the school uniform, and the other a white collared shirt. Ayano was glad she didn't have to see a shirtless Taro, that would have been embarrassing.

Taro was going to bandage the slit on his own, but Ayano decided to do it for him. Taro thanked her and then stared into her eyes. He saw how lifeless they were compared to before. He guessed that being apart for so long made a huge difference.

Taro stared at the ground and then back at Ayano's eyes with a weak smile.

"Let's go back to the real world."
