Carrington Hill
I have never in my life spent a full day at a spa so it was a lovely experience to do that with Mia on my side. By the time it was dinner, both of us were starving despite the fact that we had little snacks here and there throughout our relaxing activities.
While we got pampered, not a single thought came to my mind regarding Harry and so I was glad. Most of the subjects that Mia and I talked about were nonsense; we actually jumped into one thing then went straight onto something else. She never mentioned Aiden or Harry and I never mentioned any boys either. Well, apart from my little brother who I had a chat with last night but we didn't speak of him much.
Considering we were basically starving to our deaths, after we took a small shower at the spa place, we ended up going straight to the restaurant by our rooms. We had our bikinis on for most of the day so our clothes weren't smelly or anything.
"Hello ladies," Aiden was the first to greet us at the table, his voice cheerful and a huge grin rested on his lips. He hugged his wife tightly and I just sat down, completely ignoring them.
I bet they couldn't wait to get back to their rooms and just have sex since they were separated from each other all day. That made me pull a face and I shook my head a bit as I pulled the menu to myself then opened it.
"How was your spa day, Carrington?" Linda asked me whose voice came from ahead of me. She sat opposite to me, an orange coloured cocktail rested in her hand as she sipped into it here and there. "Mia mentioned this morning that you two might take the day off and jut chill out for a bit."
"Yeah we did and it was amazing," I smiled at her. "You should check it out with Max before we leave; it's honestly the most wonderful place to relax."
"I'm sure it is," she chuckled. "Although we are in Hawaii and that's pretty relaxing in itself, I still feel sort of tense, I just think it's from all the planning and stress that came with the wedding."
"Mum, I told you that Aiden and I could handle most of the stuff," Mia butted in our conversation which got both of our heads turning in her direction. She had a knowing look on her face as she sat between her husband and me.
"Yes, I know that," Linda said with a strong voice as she stated her thoughts. "But I wanted to make sure that everything was under control and happened the way everything should have. It all turned out quite good, right?"
"Sure did mum," she laughed. "You, dad, Tom and Brittany outdone yourselves and we are all really grateful for that."
"Of course, honey," Max joined our conversation with a proud and happy smile on his manly features. "You deserve the best and that is what you'll get, always."
"Oh my god, dad, stop, I'm gonna cry," my best friend put her hands over her heart as she tilted her head to the side a bit with a happy pout on her lips.
Dinner was lovely up until I noticed Harry sitting on the same side as Mia's mum and dad. He was in a deep conversation with someone, smiling and laughing and then just as I looked at him accidentally, his eyes locked onto mine. I really did not look at him on purpose, to be fair I didn't even know he was at the table.
I licked my lips as I put my fork in my bowl once I finished my salad. It was a Caesar salad with roasted chicken in it and it was the nicest salad I had in a while. Or maybe I was just too hungry and that's why it tasted good. Either way, it was tasty as hell and it filled me right up.
Linda and I must have been the last people to leave the table after many many cocktails gone. It was weird how close I was with Mia's mum but at the same time it wasn't because I've always spent a lot of time with her family and so did she with mine.
We were basically a big family.
She sort of tagged along on my way back to my room but because hers was a bit away, I ended up getting there on my own. I had a huge grin on my face from all the laughing and I was a tiny bit tipsy as well so I was tottering to one side then the other. Although when my eyes looked up and I saw a figure sitting on the stairs to my door I felt like I instantly sobered up.
"I'm-, Carrington, look, can we talk?" his voice was deep and slow as he got his words out, my skin was covered in goose bumps because of it and my heart rate sort of picked up. He sounded like he actually wanted to make things right or I just assumed he wanted to chat about what happened last night.
"About?" I asked after a bit of silence even though I was probably right when I thought he wanted to clear things up.
"About our date," he said as he stood up so that I could walk up and he followed behind.
"Okay, let's talk," I agreed as I pulled the chair out from the table that was on the little terrace and sat down. I put my legs up on the table, crossed them by my ankle and propped my elbows on the armrest of the chair while I intertwined my fingers in the middle. "Take a seat."
After he sat down, none of us said anything. The leaves on the trees were moving around as the light wind pushed them together softly and the waves of the water created a relaxing sound. It was a good time to be out, just sitting and for the time being, just staying quiet.
Though we had to talk because I liked Harry more than I liked anyone in the past few months and I wasn't about to lose my chances with him over some little argument.
"I want to apologise for going against my own words regarding our date the other night. You were right when you called me an asshole-,"
"I called you a twat, but you were an asshole too, I agree," I interrupted him as I kept my focus on his face. He didn't look at me though; he was looking in front of himself so I had a great view of his side profile.
His lips were plump and he kept touching them with his fingers and that drove me mad. It was the hottest thing I had seen that day and I wanted to be the one playing with his lips.
"Yeah, that too," he let out a breathy chuckle. Again, he didn't say a word for a minute or two but he was biting the side of his cheek and his fingers were doing that wave thing where he put one finger down then the next after it and then repeating it over and over again, making a light knocking sound. "I guess I just panicked."
"Why?" I asked him with a flat tone in my voice which got his head turn to my direction right away. Right, so maybe my voice was a bit rougher and more serious than I thought it was going to come out.
"I know that it's no excuse for what I did but it is the truth. I wanted to impress you, I really did and still do," he sounded defeated as the words were spoken by him; the sigh that came right out of his mouth after his thoughts was long and loud.
What he had said hit me a bit and a small smile almost crept its way onto my lips. It was hard to fight it down to not let it appear but I won in the end. Being my curious self, I wanted to know everything that was on his mind and for that to happen, he had to think that I was still pissed about it.
"It's weird to admit it to myself, nevermind admitting it to you, but I like you way more than I ever intended to. Sure, I found you pretty on the first day I saw you in that moment so I just thought it was a fling feeling if you get me. I wasn't planning on letting my feelings develop for you but then we just kept hanging out and I found myself enjoying your company," he rambled on slowly and deeply then took a few minutes to just sit there and leaned back in his seat.
"That's, uh, flattering," I said quietly and honestly. No one told me this straight forwardly how they felt about me in the past and in that moment I was a little shocked. I didn't think Harry was that open about feelings but then again he was always talking to someone about something so I should have expected it. "I, well, I like you too and I don't want our-, whatever we have go to waste."
"Yeah, me neither," he said almost right as the words left my lips. That gave me the urge to smile again but this time I let my lips pull into a grin. "So, uh, are you still mad over what happened?"
"I'm just annoyed and expect me to take the piss with it sometimes. I don't forget stuff but I do forgive. Therefore if you are okay with me then I am okay with you too. But, don't let it happen again."
"Don't worry I'll be able to handle you because I like you enough to do so. I kind of want us to last, you know. It's really strange, I never felt this close to and strong about anyone within such a short amount of time. I'm sort of scared as well."
"Me too," I said. "To everything. I mean, I agree with everything you said. Good things never come my way when it's about relationships. Whether it's friendships or being romantically involved with someone."
"I would like to think I'm a good person and that it could make me something or more so someone good that comes in your life."
"You are," I hummed. "Sorry in advance if I ruin you and your goodness."
"You won't. But, even if you will, I won't be angry about it. I think I need some bad in me to ruin me a little. People tend to use me because they know I'm too kind to say no."
"I know that feeling and I guess that's one of the reasons why I don't open up easily."
"From my point of view, you talked pretty freely around me about more serious stuff, like, your tattoo for example. I don't think you tell others about it that-, I don't even know how to describe it."
"Carelessly?"
"No, definitely not the right word," he chuckled lightly. "I just felt like you trusted me and that meant a lot. So thank you."
"No need to thank me, Harry. You seem like someone who is trustworthy but then you also seem like someone who you shouldn't trust. That is judged on your career and position in society."
"I'd like to think I'm trustworthy and I understand where you are coming from. A lot of celebrities tend to act like they are more than any other person which is completely false. They worth just as much as anyone else, the fact that they have money shouldn't change them as a person."
"I suppose. But I guess as long as they don't forget where they came from it's all good."
"Yeah that's important however I still strongly believe that they shouldn't let the money and fame get to them."
"As long as you know you are not like them it's fine. They don't worth your time, Harry."
"I know," he muttered. "I just lost friends due to this and it gets me so heated sometimes."
"You can always rant to me if you want," I smiled at him and he did the gesture back to me. "I'm quite big on rants anyways; I could go on for days about some things."
"That's good to know," he said then stopped for a few minutes. "Are we alright then?"
"As alright as we can be," I said confidently with a smile on my face. "I'm sorry for overacting so much. I just cannot stand it when people say one thing and do something else. You could say it's one of my pet peeves."
"It's no problem, Carrington. I shouldn't have gone against my own words and I should have taken the time to divide the bill between us before shoving all that money in the cashier's hands."
"Just don't do it next time and then we won't have to ignore one another for more than twenty four hours," I laughed, still sitting in my chair comfortably.
"Right, that was terrible," he sighed. "I wanted to come over that night and I sort of did, I saw you sitting in your bed with your laptop on your lap and you were laughing at something. I didn't want to interrupt you because although I upset you I was happy to see that you weren't crying over my stupid actions."
"Yeah it wasn't that serious but it was annoying."
"Well, so, um would you like to hang out tomorrow at some point? We could do something."
"Uh, can we do something in the water? Like an activity or something," I suggested. "I have this flyer thing in my room and it has stuff on it that we can do, I'll get it, one second," I said right as I stood up, unlocked my door then ran in.
I forgot where I put it but then I noticed it lying on the armchair so I quickly snatched it from there and I was back out. I made sure to close my door properly and then stood next to Harry as I put the paper on the table. He leaned forward as I leaned on my palms on the table and soon his hands found their way on my waist.
"I can't exactly see it," he laughed while he looked up to me and so I had to look down a bit.
"Oh," I said quietly and I was about to move to the side when I felt his hold get tighter on me.
"Just stay here," as the words left his lips he pulled me on to his lap; his right hand snuck around my stomach while he put his elbow on the table and held the flyer in his hand. "So, which one do you wanna do?"
For a few seconds I stayed quiet as I was still processing the situation. He pulled me on his lap like he had done it to me before and for some odd reason it just made my heart rate speed up.
"Carrington?" he called my name and a soft chuckle followed it.
"Uh, whichever you fancy," I stuttered a bit because I wasn't able to find the right words.
"Well then," he muttered. "Do you want to swim with dolphins? Wanna go snorkelling?"
"Maybe to both. Not that keen on them. I find it weird and sort of scary."
"Why?" he laughed. "It's not scary."
"You literally swim with an animal like what the fuck? What if it'll bite into you because you put your hands or legs somewhere where you shouldn't? And snorkelling is just, I don't even know, like, you go underwater to see weird fishes when you could go to Pets At Home and see them swimming in an aquarium. You don't need to go underwater which means you can breathe properly and you cannot die."
"Okay, those two off the list then," he leaned his head against my arm as he kept his hand around me and drew little circles on my cloth covered stomach. "Do you wanna do that?" he asked as he pointed on one of the pictures.
It was called "Bumper Tube" and the people on the picture were sitting in a floatable seat kind of thing as they were pulled by a boat of some sort. It looked fun and I was fonder of that than the other two.
"So we're doing this?" he asked me which got me turning my head to his direction crazy fast. He was looking at me with a smile on his lips, eyes shining and all.
I actually got lost in his eyes. Like, they were beautiful and green. His eyelashes were the nicest eyelashes I seen on any boy I have ever fancied and I wondered how long they would look with a bit of mascara on. His lips were more red than pink and they had the nicest shape to them. Not to mention how his sunburn went a bit down and now he was more tanned than burnt so that made the colour of his eyes pop more. He had freckles under his eyes and across his nose which was the cutest thing and all I wanted to do was run my fingers along his strong features and caress him.
Harry had a bit of stubble going on above his upper lip and on his chin and that made him even more attractive than he already was. His eyebrows were a bit bushy but for a boy they seemed maintained and it just made him look extra-extra good. His nose was structured and it just went well with his face which is a weird way of describing something but he was just perfect.
He was gorgeous from afar and close up as well making him perfect. Even though that didn't exist.
Or so I thought until I saw him.
"You are bloody handsome," I muttered, not even realising what I had said first but the blood instantly rushed to my cheeks making them heat up, almost burn with embarrassment. It was absolutely random and I did not think as I opened my mouth.
But I didn't regret saying what I did. It was true and damn I fancied him so much.
"You are bloody beautiful," his lips pulled into a soft smile as the wind brushed that loose strand of hair onto his forehead.
While my eyes were fixed on his pretty face my body moved itself around or so he helped me I didn't have a clue. But my legs were over his thighs and he sat more up in the chair as well so it was more comfortable and none of us fell off. My left hand was behind his neck as my right one rested in my lap and he had one of his behind my back and the other on my knee. His touch was warm and it made my insides tingle just being this close to him and having his hands around me.
"Would you be pissed if I said I want to kiss you?"
"I would be," I started and that got him a bit shocked, his eyes gave him away. I chuckled before continuing. "I would be if you wouldn't actually do it, silly boy."
