^^ Picture of Liv's Outfit and the Song
I turn off my blow dryer, shaking out the loose curls.
I step out of the bathroom and I hear music blasting through the speakers in the living room.
"Baby, I could die a happy man..."
He loves that song. So do I.
I feel his hands on my waist and I smile. He spins me around grin, wrapping my arms around his neck as he twirls me back and forth.
"Dance with me..." He whispers against my lips.
"Honey, you already made me late..." I say with a soft smile.
I was supposed to be getting ready for Melinda's baby shower.
But Elliot had pulled me into a kiss and we had tumbled into bed.
He kisses me again as he grabs me by the waist.
"You look good like this..." He says with a soft smile.
"I was thinking of wearing this to the baby shower, what do you think?" I ask with a grin.
"Yes. My button up and a thong. Perfect for a baby shower." He says laughing.
The laughter fades away and I look into my husbands eyes. He has a soft smile on his face and tears brimming in his eyes as I press my palm to his cheek, my thumb brushing away the tear that had escaped.
"Good god I love you..." He says, kissing me again, "Always have and I always will..."
I step up on my tip toes, connecting our lips.
He dips me backwards and pulls me up into a kiss again.
"Go..." He says pulling away and slapping my ass, "Go get ready, I don't want to make you any later."
I smile softly as I walk into our bedroom.
I pull on my favorite black dress and my red heels. I grab the cream clutch off the bed and walk into the living room. I put in the sapphire drop earrings Elliot bought for me awhile ago.
"Holy fuck." Elliot says, his mouth open slightly, "I mean... Wow..."
"You like the dress?" I ask, biting the corner of my lip.
"You could say that." He says pulling me into another kiss.
I pull away, putting a little more sway in my hips than usual as I walk out the door.
Elliot whistles and I laugh.
I pull up in front of the restaurant and hands the keys to my Lexus to the vallet.
I walk through the restaurant and am greeted by all my girlfriends.
Alex, Casey, Melinda, and Abbie.
"You look great, Mel..." I say, giving her a hug.
"Never better than you, Liv..." She says with a chuckle.
We eat lunch altogether before my phone starts ringing.
"Stabler." I say into the phone, having listening, but still laughing with my friends.
Goddamnit.
"Sorry guys..." I say, "Cragen needs me."
I say goodbye to all of them, hugging Melinda before I leave.
Cragen wants me to head to the hospital. A pregnant 16 year old showed up after having fallen in the shower without her parents. One of her friends drove her. Her friend looks only slightly older and is about six months pregnant.
I get to the hospital and the nurse points me in the direction of her room.
"Fedelia Vidal?" I ask.
"Yeah? Who are you?" She asks looking me up and down.
I pull my badge out of the side pocket of my clutch.
"Detective Olivia Stabler, Manhattan Special Victims Unit." I say.
She looks me up and down.
"They let detectives dress like that?" She asks.
"It was my day off." I say, "Mind if I sit?"
"Why would I care?" She asks.
I sit in the chair next to the bed, crossing my legs.
I ask her a couple questions which she answers before my phone rings.
"Excuse me." I say, stepping outside.
"Stabler." I say.
"Surprise." Elliot says, walking around the corner.
He hangs up the phone and so do I.
"What are you doing here?" I ask, kissing him quickly.
He's wearing a suit.
"Cragen called to tell me he called you and I thought I'd offer my assistance." He says, handing me a cup of coffee.
"You are my hero." I say, taking a large drink of the black coffee. "You wanna sit in?"
"Yeah, of course." He says, kissing my forehead, "I do like to see my wife from time to time, even if it is while we're working."
He finishes the coffee and we both walk back into the room.
"Fedelia, this is my partner Detective Elliot Stabler, do you mind if he sits in with us while I ask you a couple more questions?" I ask.
She rolls her eyes and Elliot sits on the padded bench behind me.
"So, Fedelia, you said you're about 4 months pregnant?" I ask.
"Mhm..." She says, continuing to file her nails.
"Fedelia, let's talk about the baby's father." I say.
"What's your story huh?" She asks.
"Excuse me?" I say.
"You have kids? You're pretty old." She says. "You gotta be pushin' 40."
"Fedelia, we're here to talk about you." I say calmly.
"I bet your jealous. Old chicks are totally jealous of me, because I'm doing something this cool. Is that it? Did you wait too long? Tick tock, Detective Stabler..." She says, pulling up her t-shirt and rubbing her bare belly. "Miss your window?"
"Fedelia..." I say, "This isn't about me."
"So sad..." She fake pouts, "No babies for you and Detective Dick over there..."
"Fedelia, a baby isn't an accessory. It's not a new shade of lipstick, or a fun new purse. This is a living breathing human being that you're bringing onto this earth."
"Don't you think I know that?!" She yells at me.
"If you did you'd be petrified for your future. Do you know the odds of a teen mom finishing high school? Forget college or any other dream you might have. Life as you know it is over now. There's no going to mall or hanging out with your friends. You might still see them, but if you do it'll be when you're in line waiting for food stamps or when you're all trying to get an appointment at the free clinic." I say frustratedly. "Do you know the health risks that come with babies born to teen moms? Dyslexia, ADHD, autism, cerebral palsy, and the list goes on."
"Just because you're all dried up and anything that comes outta you will be deformed doesn't mean that's gonna happen to me." She says.
I grit my teeth and walk out of the room.
"We'll be in touch." Elliot says as he follows me out.
Elliot follows me into one of the on call rooms.
I run my hand through my hair, pacing back and forth.
Elliot shuts and locks the door before pulling me into his arms.
I rest my head on his chest. He has one hand on my hip, holding me flush against his body, and the other stroking my hair.
I close my eyes to stop the tears from running down my cheeks.
"I'm right here, baby..." He says quietly.
He kisses the top of my head, his lips ruffling my hair.
"I love you, Olivia." He says quietly. "The miscarriage was not your fault. You know that. That was his fault."
I nod my head slightly against his chest.
"We'll have our baby. We'll have our family." He says.
"I love you, Elliot, I love you." I say, my voice cracking.
He looks down at my, his thumb brushing the tears off my cheek.
"What is it?" He asks, "Baby, what's wrong?"
"I-I would have been four months pregnant." I say quietly.
"I know, Honey..." He says quietly.
"We should be sitting at home arguing about if it was a boy or a girl, trying to find the perfect name for our baby." I say sadly.
He kisses my forehead and I lean against him.
"Laying in bed together, your hands on my little bump..." I say, touching my hand to my stomach, "Feeling our son or our daughters little kicks."
"It'll happen again, Liv..." He says quietly, "It will."
He kisses me again.
"I am taking you home." He says.
He wipes the tears from under my eyes and we walk out the on call room.
He tosses me over his shoulder, slapping my ass as we leave.
"Elliot put me down..." I say, laughing.
I make extremely awkward eye contact with Fedelia and her parents look at me strange.
"Who the hell is that?" Her father asks.
"That's Detective Stabler. And her husband, the other Detective Stabler." She says.
I laugh and Elliot slaps my ass again.
I do love my husband.
