Camila was at home bored out of her mind, her in laws came over and took the boys for the day and she still wasn't sure when Lauren would be home, but she had plans to meet up with the girls later so that would be fun. Now would be a good time to work on her book but as of lately she was feeling uninspired. Which is why instead of working on it she was in a large t-shit and boy shorts, watching boring reality tv and eating all the junk food Lauren doesn't let her eat. Lauren has been talking to Normani too much.
"Camz." Lauren called out, the house seemed too quiet. "Camila!" She called out a little louder, her car was in the driveway so she had to be home.
"In the living room!" She herd Camila shout out.
"Uhh...listen....I don't want you to freak out but I kind of got in a fight." She said as she neared the living room, she really wasn't lying because she did in fact get in a fight. She herd the sound of a bowl hit glass. "Hey babe." Lauren said innocently, as she entered the room.
"Oh god Lauren! What the hell happened to you?!" She yelled out asking her wife.
"I ran into Elliot." She answered lightly joking, which was also the truth.
"Every time you leave this house you come back with a new injury."she pointed out. "Are you okay?" She asked concerned, cupping Lauren's cheek tenderly.
"I'm fine I promise, just a few broken bones and stitches nothing to bad. I sort of may have lied to you tho." Lauren admitted nonchalantly like breaking bones was nothing, she wouldn't make the mistake of keeping secrets from her wife.
"About what?" Camila asked concerned.
"About my reasons for going to Atlanta...There was no funeral, Kenny's wife called me that night saying he was in trouble, so I went. Someone from his old unit had him kidnapped and I had to go get him back." Lauren explained, as best as she could, this seemed like the plot to some action movie.
"Is that how you got all these injuries? God Lauren! Why would you go off an do something so stupid?!" She scolded her wife.
"No these really were from fighting with Elliot. He sort of helped me but then I might of let the anger take over for a bit...I'm sorry I lied to you but I didn't want you to worry and I knew you wouldn't let me go. I couldn't leave him behind after everything he did for me. I'm sorry I hate lying to you Camila." Lauren apologized.
"I'm oblivious upset that you went all Rambo without letting me know. But I'm glad your okay." She said sincerely, placing a light kiss on Lauren's lips considering it was slightly bruised.
"How did I get so lucky?" Lauren said, kissing her wife.
"Oh no..no your not going to sweet talk your way out of this. You got some groveling to do." She said, because Lauren wasn't going to get off that easy.
" I brought you flower's so that gets me some points right?" Lauren said playfully, she planned on fully making it up to her wife. "By the way, the house is really quiet where are my chickens...and Spencer?" She asked.
"Your parents wanted to spend the day with them. Unlike you they're making an effort to include Spencer." Camila answered back a bit harshly.
"Can we not argue about this again." Lauren pleaded, she had little to no sleep and the last thing she needed was another argument. "I'm tired." She admitted, and Camila gave in. They cuddled on the couch and watched tv until Lauren fell asleep, Camila had informed her that they were meeting up with the girls later that night.
At around seven Camila woke Lauren up and they both got ready to meet up with the girls, they were going to have dinner at they're old hangout spot when they were still in high school.
Lauren didn't plan on making much of an effort so she stuck with black ripped jeans, blue long sleeve crop top, black bomber jacket and doc martens. Camila was trying a little harder which Lauren thought was a little odd since the place they were going to looked like it could go at any minute but they did have the best pizza. She was in a blue stripped off shoulder dress that showed off her belly perfectly and beige ankle boots, hair curled and make up all contoured.
"Babe has Taylor gotten back from that Travis' guy's house?" Lauren asked as she slipped on her jacket.
"No and his name was Trey not Travis." Camila answered, correcting her.
"Whatever, he's not going to stick around so why bother remembering his name." She said back nonchalantly like she knew he wouldn't be around and Camila was just about to ask how she knew that but Lauren spoke up again. "Are you ready to go?"
"Yeah, let me just grab my purse." She answered, taking off to find sed object. Once she found it they made their way out the door locking the front door and turning on the alarm system. As they made their way to Lauren's car they ran into little annoying as Gina.
"Whoa, what happened to you?" She asked Lauren and seemed genuinely concerned for the girl.
"Had a little accident." She answered vaguely. "What are you doing up here?" She asked, not even surprised anymore because she seemed to show up at very inconvenient times.
"I was here to ask you for a ride into town, my parents kind of took of and I don't have a car so..." she asked trailing off.
Lauren looked to Camila for an answer and all she got was a light shrug. "Uhh sure, we were actually on our way out. Where do you want us to drop you off?" Lauren answered hoping that was the right answer.
"This Bar called Captains..have you herd of it?" Gina replied, not knowing she was talking to the owner of the bar.
"I think we might have. We should really get going the girls are waiting on us." Camila interject, looking at her phone for the time.
Lauren's GT-R was a two door, four seater, so she went to help Camila into the car and then went to open her door, pull up her seat and waited for Gina to get in before she got in. Lauren did her best to keep her eyes on the road and held Camila's hand and felt Gina's eyes burning into her, meanwhile Camila was scrolling down Instagram. Needless to say the car ride was a little awkward. Once they got to the bar, Lauren obviously had to get out so that Gina could get out and she took this as an opportunity to envelope Lauren in a hug and thanked her for the ride. That definitely got Camila off her phone.
"What was that all about?" Camila asked once Lauren was back in the car again.
"She was saying thanks I guess." Lauren shrugged it off, unsuspectingly.
"I bet she was." Camila said narrowing her eyes, suspiciously.
"You know...I don't think I've told you how beautiful you look tonight." She said complimenting her beautiful brown eyed wife. "Camila you look beautiful."
"I love you." Camila replied, as of lately she had been feeling very insecure with her body and she needed to hear this. She loved the fact that her body was doing this incredible thing but she also couldn't help herself from her insecurities.
"I love you too." Lauren said, smiling at her and leaning in for a kiss.
When they arrived at the worn down pizza place, they walked to their usual table that was surrounded by their best friends.
"Wow waltz you look good." Dinah complimented Camila with a hint of surprise in her tone considering she was overdressed for this dump.
"Are you saying I don't look good other times?" Camila faked feeling insulted.
"What?! Of course not! You look good all the time. I was just–I was just–I didn't." Dinah struggled finding the right answer, she had to deal with three pregnancies so she definitely knew how touchy the subject was for them.
"Relax Dinah, she's just messing with you." Lauren put Dinah out of her misery. "So who's idea was it to come back to this old dumb?" She asked the group.
"Mine." Ally owned up to it, with what looked like a sad smile. "This place holds a lot of memories, the start of our friendship and your guises relationships, you and Camila telling us about her pregnancy, Dinah and Normani's pregnancy announcement a few months later, Mila telling us she was having twins. Norminah's wedding announcement, my wedding announcement etc. whatever important event in our life we have discussed in this very table and I sort of have a big announcement so I figured this was the perfect place to reveal it." She explained.
"Okay? What is it?" Normani asked a little hesitant.
All eyes were on her now and she was beginning to get a little nervous. "When we got back from Hawaii, Will's bosses realized how much he actually did for the company and they offered him a promotion, to help run they're office...in Austin Texas. It's a great opportunity for him and the benefits are great. They would set us up with a bigger house, bigger pay and flexible hours. Not to mention the fact that we would be closer to my parents, which would help with the kids and make it easier for me to go back to work." Ally revealed, fidgeting with her fingers nervously.
"So when do you leave?" Lauren asked harshly, she didn't intend to but she didn't really love the fact that her best friend was moving away.
"Laur–" Camila was about to scold her wife when Dinah interrupted.
"Wait so he's taking the job?" Dinah asked confused, from what ally said she had neither confirmed or denied weather they were moving or not.
Ally had yet to say anything but was on the verge of tears. "It's a great opportunity, of course he's taking the job." Normani concluded bluntly, the answer was so obvious.
"They don't mean to sound like assholes, they're just upset right now. I think we're going to miss always seeing you but it's a great opportunity for your family and you know that ally so don't feel bad for doing this. Plus we can always go visit and you know our home is always open to you." Camila said showing her support to her friend since nobody else was. By now it was obvious that ally was here to tell them she was moving away.
"I'm sorry girls." Ally apologized, not holding back her tears anymore.
"No, don't apologize. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have reacted like that." Lauren apologized, feeling awful for making her ball of sunshine cry.
"Me too." Dinah followed.
"We may be upset to see you go but please don't ever apologize for putting your family first. I'm sorry too, for reacting like that." Now Normani apologized. "So when are you moving?" She asked.
"Middle of august." Ally mumbled out her answer.
They all did what they could to try and cheer ally up, and showed her that they would miss her but what she was doing was right. Eventually they began planning the trips they would be taking to Texas, distance was no match for OT5. They also spent time talking about all the stupid shit they did in high school and college and since Lauren wasn't there she had a great time listening to Dinah's drunken escapades. It was around 9 when Lauren got a phone call from her mom saying they were going to drop off the boys soon which was Lauren and Camila's cue to head on home.
It was now one in the morning and everyone was asleep when Lauren's phone started ringing. She almost didn't want to answer it considering nothing good happened whenever she got calls this late. So she didn't, and fell back asleep with the phone on her chest And about 25 minutes later her phone started ringing again but this time it was her alarm system notifications letting her know someone was at the gate entrance, asking to be let in. She got up and got dressed in her old baseball sweats and a black hoodie. On the camera it showed a yellow taxi cab, she almost didn't want to open the gates because she had no idea who it could be then she decided to let them in because it could be her sister.
Lauren was naturally a grumpy person after waking up and once she saw Gina stumbled out of the cab she was pissed off, Gina caught her off guard and jumped into Lauren's and arms mumbling nonsense, she paid the cab driver and he took off. Phillip's house was located in the middle of a large grass area and his drive way was just a dirt road, she had two options get the keys to her truck or just take the red Polaris UTV. She chose the utv she mostly because the keys were already in the ignition and it was much faster.
She helped her out of the Polaris and knocked on the door so that one of her parents could let her in. While they waited, Gina did something Lauren was definitely not expecting. She kissed her for maybe a millisecond because once Lauren realized what was going on she pulled away.
"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Lauren asked out angry.
"Relax, I know you want it just as bad as I do." Gina slurred out.
"Want what? What the hell are you talking about?" At this point Lauren was confused but she also knew the other girl was drunk and stupid so she should probably not think much of it. "Don't pull that shit again." She demanded from her, knocking on the door a little harder and then leaving.
Now she was laying in bed going over in her head what just happened and how she was going to tell Camila. If there was something she was completely sure of, it was that she was going to tell her wife. She had watched to many romantic movies to know that whenever someone keeps an unwanted kiss a secret things always turn out bad. She was moving around to get more comfortable when she felt the left side of the bed move.
"Laur Stop, I'm sleeping." Camila grumbled, sleepily.
"Sorry, I had to get up and now I'm uncomfortable." She apologized, explaining herself.
"Where did you go?" Camila asked, head still hidden in her pillow.
"Outside, I had to go pay Gina's cab fare and take her home. She was piss ass drunk."Lauren said shaking her head, annoyed." And she kissed me." She said, ripping of the band-aid.
"SHE KISSED YOU?!" Camila shot out of bed like a bat out of hell.
"Yeah but I pushed her away instantly I swear." Lauren answered calmly, the kiss meant nothing to her and Camila must have known that.
"Why would she kiss you?!" She yelled out.
"Camz, your gonna wake up the boys." Lauren pointed out. "And I don't know, like I said she was drunk and personally I think she's a little more than stupid, but I swear it meant nothing to me. I would never do anything like that to ruin the good thing I have here with you and the boys." Lauren assured her wife. "Your the love of my life Camila, and the only one I want to be kissing, not some stupid drunk blonde."
"Okay...I believe you...but I also don't want you to be around her anymore." Camila was a very forgiving person specially when it came to Lauren but it didn't mean she was stupid.
"Whatever you want baby." Lauren said, she knew better than to try and contradict Camila at a moment like this, plus she wasn't really that eager to hang out with the blonde again.
"Damn right."
--
It was the boys opening day ceremony and game, Lauren knew why Caspian played baseball but she had no idea why Cameron decided to play. He was never a big fan of the sport so the fact that he asked to join the team was sort of shocking but it also made her really proud that both her boys were following in her footsteps.
The team was in they're purple and grey uniform since they were playing an away game against the little league San Diego padres.
Lauren was in black jeans, a grey and black baseball tee with the teams name on it, black baseball cap with team initials and worn out converse. Dinah and Shawn were both in similar outfits. Normani was in a loose purple sun dress, showing off her full pregnant belly and Camila was in light blue ripped jeans with rolled up cuffs, a grey shirt that read in black letters 'Some people have to wait their entire lives to meet their favorite baseball players but mine call me mom.' And a ponytail under the teams baseball cap. Spencer was in a bright blue shirt, dark grey with floral print flat shorts and grey adidas ultra boost.
He didn't grow up around sports so this was all new to him, but he seemed to be enjoying himself so far. In fact the sport seemed pretty fun to him that it almost made him want to join in on the game, of course he would be a ten year old playing with a bunch of 4/5 year olds.
Caspian was having a good game, not missing a beat, Melanie wasn't far behind. Everyone else including Cameron were sort of falling behind. In all fairness though Caspian and Melanie had been playing together since they were three and were the most experienced players on the team. If they wanted to have a good season this year, they needed to work harder than the other teams. Dinah and Lauren were both frustrated throughout the whole game but kept calm mostly because they couldn't afford to get kicked out of the field.
Camila was surprised that Dinah went the whole game without getting into a fight, and that Lauren didn't lose her voice from all the yelling she was doing. To be honest, Shawn was the only one she expected not to get in to any trouble, he was a pretty calm dude. Mostly she was surprised that they handled loosing the game fairly well. Caspian however was throwing the biggest fit. Lauren must have noticed and realized that if she was angry it wouldn't help calm him down.
"It's okay Cas, winning isn't everything." She forced those words out.
"That's a lie, winning is better than losing." He shot back.
"Okay that's true but loosing helps you realize that your doing something wrong and you can fix it and do better next time. We have a brand new team with completely new people who haven't played as long as you have, there are things we have to work on, the other team has been together longer so they had a better advantage. But next time they won't because we're going to fix all of our mistakes." She explained and couldn't help but add. "And win."
"Promise?" He looked up at his mom.
"I promise bud. Now come on let's go have some ice cream, it'll make you feel better I promise." She said, knowing exactly what would cheer the boy up.
--
It was now the end of the month which meant finding out the sex of their baby. Lauren was almost certain that it was a boy and Camila was still only 50% sure it was a boy. Which meant she wasn't sure what it was. But frankly she didn't care if it was a boy or a girl as long as they were healthy.
They went into the exam room had the nurse give them a tour of Camila's belly and the baby inside it. And then they saw it or better yet saw what was missing.
Holy shit...
"Were having a girl?" Camila squeaked out her question starting to cry.
"Yes, will this be your first?" The nurse answered and asked.
"Yeah." Lauren answered in disbelief.
"Congratulations." The nurse said enthusiastically. "I'll leave you to celebrate while I set up your next appointment." She added, leaving the room but not before Camila thanked her.
"Laur were having a girl!" Camila told her wife excitedly.
"I know." She whispered, still in shock.
"Are you happy?" She asked.
"Of course, were going to have a little baby girl." She said with a wide smile, she truly was happy about the news. "but I'm also scared." She added.
"Why?" Her wife asked.
"Because I know she's going to fill my heart with joy and so so much love but I also know she's going to break it whenever I see tears in her eyes, because she fell down and soon after because some idiot boy broke her heart, she's going to break it whenever I let her down, when she comes home in tears because she doesn't think she's beautiful enough, she's going to break it when she goes off to find her own life, and when she comes back with the guy she thinks is mr. right. She's going to break it when I give her away and know she's grown up and starting her own life. That's why I'm scared." She said sincerely, while Camila had tears in her eyes. "But it'll be worth the heartbreak every time because after she's over the sadness, she'll give me that beautiful smile she got from her mommy and it'll ease the pain. So as scared as I am, I'm more happy than anything because I know that this beautiful baby girl will have me and her brothers to protect her and her mommy to show her how to be an incredibly strong, dedicated, kind, independent, smart and beautiful woman ." Lauren finished, and leaned over to kiss Camila's exposed belly.
"God I'm so in love with you Lauren Michelle Jauregui." Camila sighed out.
"I love you too, both of you." Lauren said rubbing Camila's belly lightly while giving Camila a quick kiss.
--
When they got home they were both to eager to keep the secret from the boys for much longer so they rounded them up and sat them down along with Camila's mom who was baby sitting them.
"We have something we would like to share with you, chickens." Lauren said through her wide grin. "I don't know if you guys have noticed but mommy's tummy has been getting a little bigger and that's because there is a baby inside of it." She explained well sort of.
"What?!" Cameron asked.
"We have to take it out!"Caspian yelled out concerned.
"That's gross!" Spencer said, well grossed out.
"Calm down, the baby is safe in my tummy Cas and it is not gross spence." Camila assured them.
"Well, how it's made is gross." Spencer pointed out.
"Why is there a baby in your tummy?!" Cameron asked.
"Did you eat it?" Caspian questioned. "That would be gross." He concluded.
"No mommy did not eat a baby. How the baby got in mommy's tummy is a little hard to explain...so we can talk about it when your older. The point is that mommy is going to have a baby so that means your going to have a baby sister." Lauren answered vaguely.
"A sister?" Caspian asked confused.
"Omg mija your having a girl! This is great!" Sinu said excitedly pulling Camila into a hug.
"Someone else is moving in?" Cameron asked, looking concerned.
Lauren noticed the boy's confused faces and decided to give them an example to simplify things for them. "Remember when aunt mani had a big tummy and then Melanie got her baby brother Stefan?" The boys nodded understanding. "Well that's kind of what's happening with mommy only you boys are getting a baby sister, do you understand?" She asked.
"Yeah" Spencer answered smiling.
"Yes, what's going to be her name?" Caspian asked cheerfully.
"Yeah." Cameron said simply.
"I'm not sure yet, we have to find a name for her." Camila answered him.
"Like how we named Dax and Koda?" He asked.
"Uhh, kind of. It's more like when you boys were in mommy's tummy and we had to choose your names." Lauren corrected him.
"Okay, let's think of some names." Caspian said nonchalantly.
