The next morning the blinding light woke me up, it was seeping through the thin curtains.
I slowly opened my eyes and looked around the room, remembering where I was. I grabbed my phone off my nightstand and was sad to see there were no texts from Brody.
I pushed the white comforter over to the side and got out of bed. I pulled out a black shirt and dark blue jeans and slid them on.
I ran downstairs and saw dad making breakfast.
"Thanks dad." I said as he handed me a plate of french toast and eggs.
They looked to astonishing. I grabbed a fork out of the silverware drawer and started stuffing food in my mouth.
Then I heard my phone ding.
Blake- where r u? Ur mom and i stopped over at the Anderson's house to say our last goodbye and they said u weren't there
Emma- why would i tell u where i am?
Blake- i know what i did was unnacceptable, but think of ur mother
Emma- she stood by and let it all happen, no
Blake- ur a brat
Emma- thanks for the compliment
I blocked his number and turned my phone off.
I finished my food and went up to my room. I was going to call Brody, I hadn't heard from him yet and I wanted to be the first one to call.
He picked up after two rings.
"Hey." I said.
"Hey Em, how's it going at your Dad's house?"
"It's going fine, but I miss you though."
"I miss you too."
"Are you okay?"
"I'm fine Em." The rest of the conversation after that was of no importance.
