Aaron was not a morning person. In fact, when her alarm went off that morning telling her to get out of bed she threw her device across the room and broke it. Letting go a sigh she rolled off of the bed and crawled to her closet on her hands and knees. She hated school and wanted to be homeschooled. Charlie said no. Something about getting out and making friends or something stupid like that. Most people tend not to like her a while after hanging around her. Something about having no filter?
Changing into a black tank top with the My Chemical Romance logo, black ripped skinny jeans, and her combat boots she grabbed her jacket since it looks like it was raining before going downstairs. She grabbed an apple and munched on it while talking quietly with her uncle about the day ahead of her. When Bella came downstairs with her bag, it reminded Aaron that she forgot her own. She ran upstairs and grabbed it meeting Bella at the door.
They said their goodbyes and went off to the truck since it was raining and Aaron couldn't ride her bike. "You hit my baby, I'll kill you," she told her making her laugh a little bit even though she knew she was serious. "Are you nervous?" she asked messing with the laces of her boots.
Bella sighed as the school came into view. It was a quick ride. "I am terrified," she told her going into the parking lot. She, by some miracle, got a space at the front. Aaron was shocked because let's face it, no new kid gets a parking spot like that on their first day.
"Nice ride."
Aaron and Bella looked at some kid who was sitting on the hood of a messed up van eating a twizzler. Aaron scowled as Bella mumbled thanks. Obviously, she didn't know that he was being sarcastic. She quickly found out that he was when everyone started to laugh. Aaron glared at them. "Yeah, well your ride isn't much better, jackass," she snarled out before grabbing Bella by the bicep and dragging her to the office ignoring the shocked looks that came from around everyone.
The lady perked up when she saw the duo in front of her desk. She looked like she was about to pass out. "Hello, ladies. How may I help you?" the redheaded secretary asked in excitement. Aaron rolled her eyes already done with school. They were the talk of the town already and she had found at least ten people she wanted to strangle. And look at that, it wasn't even 8 in the morning yet.
"We are Aaron and Bella Swan. We are new here," Bella spoke up obviously seeing that her cousin was annoyed by the lady. The lady's eyes sparkled as she grabbed their papers. She explained the map before letting them go off on their own not even bothering to have someone come help them. The duo exchanged schedules to see that they only had biology and lunch together as they ignored all the stares and whispers. Aaron was surprised when an Asian (she thinks he is Asian) boy jumped in their path and began talking at the speed of light.
"You're Isabella Swan and Aaron Swan - the new girls. Hi. I'm Eric. The eyes and ears of this place. Anything you need. Tour guide, lunch date, shoulder to cry on," he told them as he wiggled in between them and place his arms around their shoulders. Aaron shrugged it off as she looked at the boy wanting to know why he was really talking to them.
"I'm kind of the 'suffer in silence' type."
"I don't cry. It's pointless."
Eric looked at the two girls in awe and then shock. Who doesn't cry? "Good headline for your feature - I'm on the paper, and you two are news, baby, front page," he told them spreading his hands out as if he could see the paper before him.
Aaron saw the freaked out look on her cousin's face. She told her she would protect her - and she will. "No. No feature. We don't do well with attention," she told him. She really didn't need people to dig up her past. It should stay hidden under a lock and key. Eric was uncomfortable by the glare he was receiving but played it off.
"Whoa, chillax. No feature."
Bella was relieved while Aaron narrowed her eyes at him. He was someone she had to look out for. She didn't trust him just yet. "Would you mind just pointing me toward Mr. Varner's class?" she asked as the trio walked down the hall. Eric, obviously happy with the attention, nodded in excitement.
"You've missed a lot of the semester, but I can hook you up - tutor, cliff notes, medical excuse," he told them looking back and forth between them.
Aaron nodded. "Well, I might take you up on that offer, but I need to get to gym class," she told them waving goodbye. Eric called out directions that she needed, but would never admit to, before going to the locker room. They gave her a hideous uniform and told her to change. Once she got out, she found out it was volleyball day. Unlike her cousin who was the complete opposite of athletic, she was athletic but that doesn't mean she liked to do sports. She just was very competitive. When the teacher was splitting the class into boys and girls she took note of a huge bear looking guy. He was pale and had golden eyes. He looked uncomfortable and out of place. She also noted that it looked like he wasn't trying as hard. Almost like he was holding back.
She shrugged it off and played her game even though a question was bouncing around in her head. Why would he need to hold back? The teacher, after about a half hour, decided that they were going to play a game of boys vs girls. "Team captains. Swan and Cullen. Pick your starters, meet in the middle to shake hands, and then begin the game!" she shouted before blowing her whistle. Aaron rolled her eyes. She reminded her of Sue from Glee.
Aaron got help to pick starters since she really didn't know anyone in the class before going and shaking hands with the bear looking dude. Her breath caught when she touched his skin. It was rock hard and ice cold. "May the best man win," Cullen said with a smirk on his face. Whenever they did boys vs girls, the girls always lost apparently from what they girls behind her told her.
Aaron yanked her hand back. "Well, I am a girl, not a guy. But thank you anyways," she told him with a wink before turning around and leaving the baffled boy even more determined to win. The game started and the boys scored four points just in the beginning. Aaron was determined to win this and started to coach the girls better than their gym teacher who was now sleeping on the bleachers.
After her little pep talk, she went to serve grinning at the boy who she instantly disliked. She served it and someone hit it back over before the girl in the front spiked it to the ground. They cheered and before they knew it, they had won the game to Emmett's displeasure. He jogged up to her congratulating her on the win.
"I don't take losing well," she informed him. "Plus, you offered me a challenge. I cannot turn down a challenge," she told him with a slight bow before holding her hand out again. She had no idea on what washed over her when she got here. Maybe it was because she didn't have to worry about getting thrown down the stairs if she did something wrong again. "Aaron Swan," she told him as they shook hands once more.
"Emmett Cullen."

Bella and Aaron walked side by side as they followed two friends that Bella had made in gym glass. Aaron laughed for ten minutes when they told her that her cousin hit Mike in the head with a volleyball. She was still chuckling at the memory of it. "It wasn't that funny," Bella mumbled in embarrassment making Aaron chuckle again.
She threw her arm over her cousin. "But dear Bella, it was," she cooed at her as they sat down at the table. She recognized Eric from earlier and decided that he was a cool guy despite what she was thinking earlier. Now, Jessica on the other hand, she couldn't stand. She was the type of girl who would make fun of Aaron at her other school. Plus she was just too perky for her taste. Eric threw his arms over Bella who was the only one he could reach.
"Mike, you met my home girls Bella and Aaron," he told him sending Aaron a wink to which she gagged at making the table laugh. Mike looked at him in disbelief.
"Your home girls?" he asked as the boy who dissed Bella's truck earlier this morning, came over and kissed both of their cheeks shocking Aaron who clutched her fork tightly as if she was going to stab him with it.
"My home girls," he told Mike before pulling his chair from out underneath him. Mike got up and chased after him making Jessica scoot closer to the girls. Aaron grabbed her napkin and started to try to get the wetness he left behind off of her cheek as Jessica went and became jealous again.
"It's first grade all over again, and you're the shiny new toy," she told them stabbing her food a little bit harder than before. Aaron smirked knowing that she was going to make the most of her time here and piss this girl off.
She pointed at the meat that was being brutally stabbed. "You do know that it is already dead, right? You don't have to murder it again," she told her with a smirk as Jessica glared at her with hatred. A flash blinded them and a girl with brown hair and glasses lowered the camera.
She sheepishly gazed at them not liking the attention that was on her. "Sorry, I needed a photo for the feature," she told them obviously not knowing that it had been canceled. Aaron stabbed a few pieces of her lettuce and ate it slowly.
"Feature's dead, Angela. Don't bring it up again," Eric snapped at Angela making her flinch and look down shyly making Aarons blood boil. He turned and whispered to Bella, "I got your back, baby."
Aaron then threw her apple at his head. "Don't snap at the poor girl when you didn't tell her that it was canceled in the first place AND don't flirt with my cousin which is making her uncomfortable," she snapped at him as he rubbed the middle of his forehead where she had hit him removing his arm from Bella's shoulder.
Angela was disappointed. "Guess we'll just run another editorial on teen drinking," she told them with a pout. Aaron sighed knowing she was going to regret this.
"I'll do it. But I get to pick the questions," she told the girl making her squeal in excitement. Aaron saw that Bella's attention was somewhere else and followed her line of sight. She saw two guys, two girls, all chalky pale, purplish shadows under their eyes and all devastatingly beautiful which made Aaron wish she looked like that. It was like they didn't have to try. It took time to look the way she did. She watched as they gracefully walked in the room and gracefully take a seat at a table furthest from theirs. It seemed that they always do everything gracefully.
Bella looked at them in awe. "Who are they?" she asked as Aaron was wondering the same thing. She recognized the big guy from gym class, but the one who really caught her eye was the one with the honey-brown haired boy. His hair hung in curls around his face and she liked it compared to her ex's black spiky hair.
"The Cullens."
Aaron barely heard what Angela said as the small girl at the Cullen table saw her staring at the boy. She cleared her throat and looked back to Jessica who was in gossip mode. "Doctor and Mrs. Cullen's foster kids. They all moved down here from Alaska two years ago," she told them before speaking again. Aaron barely had time to register the fact that Angela told them that they usually keep to themselves. That was hard to believe because of Emmett from earlier. "Because they're all together. Like, together together. The blonde girl, Rosalie, and the big dark-haired guy, Emmett," she told them as they all looked to see the couple smiling at each other. "They're a thing. I'm not even sure that's legal," she scoffed out as Aaron took another bite of her salad.
Angela scoffed at her friend. "Jess, they're not actually related," she told her making Jessica roll her eyes at her friend. As time went on, Aaron was hating this girl more and more.
"But they live together. It's weird. And the little dark haired girl, Alice, she's really weird." Aaron glared at her. Who is she to judge the girl? She had never spoken to her before. "She's best friends with Jasper, the blonde who looks like he's in pain. I mean, Dr. Cullen's like this foster dad slash matchmaker," she told them making Aaron have to resist the urge to punch her in the face.
Angela sighed and looked at the table once more with a dreamy look on her face as she rested her chin in her palm. "Maybe he'll adopt me," she told them making Aaron laugh loudly enough to attract the attention of the Cullens.
"Who's he?"
Aaron was so focused on what Angela said that she didn't realize someone else had walked in the room. "That's Edward Cullen," she told them as he looked over as if he could hear them. Aaron watched with a teasing smile as her cousin connected eyes with him. Bella looked away and her eyes grew three sizes when she saw the look on her face. "He's totally gorgeous, obviously. But apparently, no one here is good enough for him. Like I care," she told them but it was obvious to Aaron she did care. "Anyway, don't waste your time."
"I wasn't planning on it."
Aaron couldn't help but smile at the thought of what she was going to say. "So, what I am gathering is that you asked him out and then he rejected you?" she asked taking a sip of her water. Jessica glared as Bella hit her arm. "What? It is written all over her face!" she exclaimed as the four girls dissolved into an argument on whether or not Jessica was jealous.
Meanwhile, over at the Cullen table, they were talking about the two girls. "I met Aaron in gym class, she seems like she is pretty rad," Emmett told his siblings with a smirk on his face. Rosalie rolled her eyes as everyone else smiled.
"No one says rad anymore, Emmett," Alice told him like it was fact. "I saw their future, they are going to be part of the family and my best friends!" she squealed in excitement not seeing the painful look on Jasper's face.
He couldn't be with a human, even if they were mates. He doesn't have good control and he would end up killing her. Which would, in turn, kill him if he actually had feelings for the girl. Edward nudged his brother with his foot after reading his thoughts. Alice watched the whole exchange with a sad smile.
"It will be okay, guys. We will figure it out."
