You lay in the hospital bed, holding your son close to your chest. Alexander holds his other son in his hands. "We're parents," he mutters.
You giggle slightly, gently running your hand over your son's head. "Yeah, we are."
He bends down to kiss your forehead. "Thank you."
You turn to look at him. "You did help. It's not like this was a one-person thing."
"I know, but you carried them for nine months, and then gave birth to them, which was pretty incredible."

You and your husband each hold a baby carrier, as you walk into your apartment. "This is your home, Cary," Alex cooes.
You smile and take Michael to the couch with you. "You're home, Michael."
Alex sits next to you and wraps his arm around your shoulders. You rest your head on his shoulder, while Michael sleeps soundly in your arms. "I love you." He kisses your forehead. "And I love our family."
