As Sarah sat facing the stone faced CEO of Lintel clothing limited, she knew she was making a mistake of staying and still making a mistake of not attempting to leave at all. She was in no condition to sit down with Alex Smith and talk about job when they both had something so strong connecting them. Suddenly, when she couldn't take his stone cold eyes anymore, she stood up attempting to leave when his deep baritone voice stopped her
" Where do you think you are going Ms. Greene!"
Sarah stopped moving, the icy tone he used to pronounce her name gave her chills
"Am leaving Mr. Smith. Am no longer interested in the job anymore" she said facing him
Alex frowned, his blue eyes sending arrows at her. Then he asked
"When you were not interested in the job, why did you bother going through all the stress of an interview?"
"I didn't know you own Lintel clothing" Sarah answered. Her hands clenching at her sides " I thought you were only interested in petroleum and buying estates"
Alex reduced the tightness of his tie, it was suddenly as if he was suffocating and he needed air despite the air condition in the office and this woman in front of him was really making things difficult in that really short skirt and high heels with legs that could go on forever. He was using all of his willpower to allow his eyes stay focus on hers.
"There's still so much you don't know about me Sarah" he said. Sitting down wasn't doing much advantage to him and so he stood up from his chair and walked to where she was standing
"Really?" She asked, one of her eyebrow raised "am sorry then Mr. Smith but am no longer interested in the job. Good day" Sarah said and was walking out. She had decided to earn a living for herself and her three years old daughter. She had hoped that she would be taken for the job and her livelihood would be secured but things ha changed now that Alex is in the picture.
Clothing line and fashion had always been Sarah's dream. To own a clothing company of her own, organise and manage a popular clothing company that only belonged to her, but it seemed her dreams was a far fetched cry from her and it could never happen with the merger amount of money in her bank account.
"What if I give you $17,000 as salary for the job?"
She stopped by the doorway and looked back. Surprised
"$17,000 is really worth the job" Alex said again with an icy glare
How was he trying to negotiate a deal with that cold expression of his.
"I...are you trying to buy me for this job?" Sarah asked
"Buy you?" Alex repeated and gave a chuckle that sent the whole of Sarah's body on fire. "Am only trying to make things beneficial to both of us....I know you are good for this job and am confident that you would do well...so...I want you as much as I want the money you would make for me"
Sarah shivered..she thought...he just said he wanted her and that just made her a lot wet and... It wasn't even meant the way she thought it was suppose to mean. She blinked and said
"I want some rules established first"
Alex narrowed his eyes and asked
"What rules?"
"Its strictly business between us"
Alex gave a slight smile that Sarah knew so well, that smile that had made her fall in love with him. He move close to her...so close that she could smell his expensive cologne so well and knew the name and its brand. His eyes fixed on hers and as he bend his head low to her ears and asked
"Sure... It was only business that was between us from the moment you walked through that door or would you like there to be more?"
Sarah shivered and answered swallowing
"No...not at all"
Alex stared into her deep brown eyes and knew that she meant what she just said. Her eyes were so devoid of any feelings and emotion. He was angry, pissed that she felt nothing towards him while she ignited old flames in him the moment she walked in. She had made him remember and wished he could thrust himself into her again and make her scream his name in ectasasy
"Be expecting me on Monday then Mr. Smith"
"Monday? Don't you think monday is too late to start earning a $17,000?" Alex asked with a smirk on his face "Tomorrow Ms. Greene. I'm seriously in need of my secretary."
"Tomorrow then Mr. Smith" Sarah said and she walked out of his office.

Sarah dropped her bag on the chair as she held onto the chair for support. She didn't know she was actually holding her breath until she actually exhaled deeply. Her daughter was probably with her nanny which gave her enough time to go through what she had just agreed on some minutes ago.
She couldn't believe Alex Smith could have changed that much, his whole demeanour was composed just like the man himself. His sparkling blue eyes had that distinct trace of knowledge which hadn't been there before..not that she was saying he wasn't an intelligent man before. Alex was just a playful type before and the hint wasn't on him but now...his posture and everything about him had changed. She was angry at herself, how could he affect her so much after almost four years. She thought even if she saw the man again, he would have no effect on her but it seemed she was wrong . he had a whole lot of effect on her and she was scared of it, she didn't even had an ounce of effect on him and she felt like kicking herself for that. She didn't know when her daughter Aliona came down with her nanny behind
"Mama,Mama..."
Sarah looked at her daughter and smiled. She had to get the thought and image of Alex Smith out of her head but she only thought of him more because Aliona looked exactly like him with blue eyes, dark hair, same mouth....oh God! She need to keep Aliona far away from him as possible. She was scared of losing her daughter and she knew Alex, he was capable of anything....anything at all.
"How are you sweetie?" Sarah asked as she carried her daughter
Nanny Bridget smiled as she saw Sarah
"You're already home ma'am"
"Yes..how are you Bridget?" Sarah asked
Nanny Bridget has always been like a good mother to Sarah and Sarah confided in her almost anything
"When did you get back mama?" Aliona asked
"About ten minutes ago dear. Hope you didn't trouble your nanny?" Sarah asked
Aliona looked at her nanny and smiled. Her smile so much like Alex's
"Your daughter's a real nut case"Nanny Bridget said
Sarah knew that, she smiled as Aliona kissed her cheeks
"Did you get the job dear?" Nanny Bridget asked
"Yes I did and a very sizable salary at that" Sarah answered
"But?"
"The company is owned by Alex Smith" Sarah said "and am his secretary"
Nanny Bridget covered her mouth with her hands, this was very bad. It seems fate wanted things to be known now to everyone. Aliona scrambled off her mother's arms and ran towards the parlour. Sarah sat on the loveseat as nanny Bridget joined her.
"But you still want the job... Right?" Nanny Bridget asked
"Yeah...sure...the salary is huge and two years bring the secretary of a big CEO would make me have enough money to open up my own clothing line" Sarah said
"How much is the salary?"
"$17,000" Sarah answered " I could travel the world with that amount of money"
"He's willing to pay that much to have you?"
"He's willing" Sarah answered "But I can't help to think he has some ulterior motive. His face was devoid of any emotion and....I couldn't ...." Sarah stood up frustrated "I'm starting the job tomorrow. He wants me to start as early as possible"
Nanny Bridget widened her eyes in surprise and said
"You are treading on dangerous grounds ma'am"
Sarah placed her hands on her hips and said while looking at her daughter who was watching a program on the television
"I have to keep Aliona away from him. He mustn't find out about her"
Nanny Bridget nodded agreeing with Sarah.
