BOBBY:

I watched Tyshay attempt to walk pass me, I gently grabbed her.

"Oh my gosh, Bobby, what now?", she asked me with attitude.

"I'm tired of you avoiding me, I'm tired of these ungrateful acts", I finally expressed.

"I'm not ungrateful. If you want to hear 'thanks' then Thanks", she told me trying to escape away.

I grabbed her again, less gentle this time.

"What the fuck is your problem?", I asked her.

Tyshay sighed in disbelief.

"What's my problem? Obviously it's you Bobby"

"Look, I get you're upset that because people are blaming you or looking at you as--"

"Wait, that's why you think i'm avoiding you?", she asked me with a frown mixed with sarcasm.

"Yea?...I mean why else?", I questioned.

Tyshay shook her head in disbelief.

"It's not about the situation, it's not about people's view on me after the situation, It's NOT any of that shit. It's the inciting incident, meaning it's the shit that began the situation"

"So....it's the alcohol's fault?", I chuckled a little trying to ease it with a joke.

"Bobby, now is not the time. I'm trying to make you understand that I wouldn't have been in that situation if only you kept it real with me from the beginning. If you would have just told me straight up that you weren't interested in staying with me--I would have been called quits. You don't understand how I felt at the end, and then it hurts more just seeing you live your life without a care in the world meanwhile i'm over here crying myself to sleep almost every damn night", She spoke with so much emotion.

I lost the little sense of humor in me as I just listened to her.

"I'm not mad at you Bobby, I'm mad at myself for letting you put me in this low phase. Avoiding you is not to be petty towards you or to bother you--- it's to help me move on and get my life back to happiness".

I listened to every word, and for once...I had nothing to say.

Tyshay noticed I became mute, then she decided to walk away after realizing I had no response.

In the midst of me just watching her walk away, I was approached by someone. I looked over to see some girl. I know her by face but I never knew her name.

"Hey I'm Tink", she nicely said to me.

"Uh...hey, I'm Bobby...but honestly now is not the right time", I told her off the bat.

"Oh, well I'm sorry. I was actually just coming over to ask can you give my number to your cousin", she asked.

I sighed, "Of course you were"

JORDAN:

School was over for the day, and I was home getting prepared for our house meeting today. Butterflies haven't left my stomach since I got home. I was standing in the mirror, wearing my flower dress that Tameeka swear I never wore. My hair was back to its curly texture, I had it down with one side behind my ear.

I grabbed this pink lipstick that Tameeka gave me a while ago and smeared it on. I kept looking at myself hoping I look as good as I can or at least as good as I looked that day at Bobby's party.

"Jordan did you clean your bathroom last night like I told you?", I heard my mom yell from the living-room.

"Yes mother!", I shouted back.

"Are you dressed?", she shouted asking me.

Instead of shouting back, I exited my room into the living room where she was.

"Yes, I'm dressed", I told her.

"Good then everyth---"...

My mom's eyes widened as she looked at my final look.

"What are you wearing? Why do you look as if you are going to some nightclub", She exaggerated.

"It's just a dress", I said back

"Jordan", she spoke giving me that eye.

"What's wrong with it? I wore it before at the Family reunion", I told her.

"Yea, and that's the same nonsense your grandpa told you to change out of, and that's exactly what you are about to do right now", she told me.

I sighed of frustration.

"Mommy, it's not even that bad"

"Jordan, you are not wearing that. Then you have that bright pink lipstick on, you look a mess. Go change, you have plenty of nice things you could wear"

"No I don't. I don't have nice clothes, all my clothes look like i'm supposed to be five years old"

"Oh Jordan don't be so dramatic. YOU DO have nice clothes, what happened to that nice thin sweater Auntie Claire bought you?", she asked.

"The one that says 'Meow' on it?", I asked dully.

"Yea! That one, that's nice and appropriate for today. Wear that"

"Mommy No! Hello, that shirt is so childish and I only wore it once for auntie Claire"

"Whatever Jordan, at the end of the day...you're not wearing that. So go change and go re-wash your face, let's go—she'll be here in no time"

I sighed and rolled my eyes and went back into my room to follow her orders, but before I did...Of course I had to FT Tameeka to complain.

ALEXIS:

"Thank You", I replied.

I was now ending my first meeting dealing with the delay on getting my apartment. Now it was time to head my way over to the open house meeting shit. I sighed slightly being overwhelmed by responsibilities. I began walking to my parked car. My phone vibrated, indicating that I was receiving some texts. I stopped for a second and reached in my pocket and pulled out my phone. I looked at it noticing an unsaved number . I checked the message as it read:

Hey it's Alice 😘,what are you doing later?

I sighed as I slid my phone back inside my pocket. In a few seconds of walking again, I finally made it to my car and got in. I started up my car and automatically played Wishing by DJ Drama ft. Chris Brown. Once I was settled in, I started heading to my next destination.

***

The drive wasn't that deep. In about thirty minutes, with no traffic, I arrived the the house. I found good parking and got out. I took out my phone and viewed the address that the Lady nicely sent me. I looked up and viewed the same numbers on the building. I sighed and walked towards the building. With the given instructions, I rung bell 3A and waited.

In moments, I heard a voice from the intercom speak...

"Yes, who is it?", I heard a small gentle voice say, different from the Lady's voice I've recently heard over the phone.

"Hello, good evening, this is Alexis for the open house", I replied.

In a moment, the door buzzed. I pushed open the door and started to head to the apartment.

Once I reached the door, I gently knocked. I usually didn't like ringing people's door bells.

I only waited for a few seconds then finally the door opened. I politely smiled at the Lady. She was wearing a nice wine colored button up along with some black slacks. She looked a slight bit young for her age, she reminded me of the actress Regina King.

"Hello Alexis", she smiled, "Come in", she said making space for my entrance.

I walked in, "It's nice to meet you Miss Prescott".

She smiled closing the door.

"Yes, mutual, let's grab a seat", she said guiding me to a small dining table that was half naked with only a glass pitcher of water and two glass cups.

I sat down in one of the chairs as Miss Prescott sat in the other one. I got comfortable and then I heard a door open. Curiosity took over me as I looked over to see who was coming through the open door.

In seconds, I was slightly taken aback as my eyes laid on her. When I say that, I mean it in the most surprising reaction.

Her small curves I noticed before were now hidden under this over-sized sweatshirt and pair of black leggings. Her straight hair was now in natural curls form thrown inside an up-top bun. Everything I faintly remember about her was different except---her face, that remained the same: innocent.

"Oh, i'm not sure if you know my daughter, this is Jordan. I know she's a friend of your cousin", Miss Prescott spoke as she stood back up.

"Oh, yes, I think we saw once", I honestly said.

"That's great", she started, "Jordan don't be rude, come say hello to our guest", Miss Prescott said to her.

Jordan stood there nervously, and then she shyly made her way towards me. I politely stood up and shook her hand.

"Hey", she nicely spoke.

"Wassup Jordan", I asked her.

Soon as I asked that, it's like her shyness increased. I watched her innocently look away.

"Jordan will be sitting in during the meeting too, I hope you don't mind", Miss Prescott said.

I still had my eyes on Jordan as she had hers on everything else but me, "I don't mind, I think it's appropriate for her to", I then sat back down.

Miss Prescott also sat back down, and Jordan took the third seat.

"So let's begin", Miss Prescott said widely smiling.
