It's been three days sense the night Aaron physically hurt me. He has listened to me so far and hasn't talked about it. I think that some of his friends were with him when him and James fought. His friends just don't look at me the same. They look as if there scared of me... they should be. If they even dare bring up that night i'll go crazy, just like Aaron did. They also, might be disgusted with me. After all I did..do.. and I am not so sure what to call it but, no matter what I will always love James. He has proved that he will die for me. But I shrug off the looks I get and pretend there all not real. To me, this is all a dream...I wish it was. I sat in quite watching Goerge make rolls to go with the soup for dinner. He had twenty per sheet. It seemed like a lot but we have hundreds of men here, and yet more come every day. But as more come, more leave. I began to cut up more vegetables for the beef stew. I added onion and potatoes. It smelled and tasted wonderful, although other parts of the kitchen did not smell as good. There was animal carcasses sitting in corners of the kitchen and it was disgusting. I decided to depart from the soup and get rid of the animal parts. It seemed the whole kitchen didn't mine them. But I did, it's certainly not sanitary. When I returned to the kitchen I herd whispers through out the kitchen. The voices slowly faded to silence. I rushed over to Goerges side, "Why are they whispering?" I demanded an answer from him. "Miss. Macie I hate to drop a rock in your smooth rolling waters but, some nurses are being recruited closer to the center of this whole thing." Trust me Goerge there's not much that could make my life worse. But as listened to his words I didn't want to believe what he said. "You mean my mom...she and her group. There being recruited closer to the heart of the war....Why?" I was surprised. Why didn't she tell me? Was she afraid for me? I just tried to look like I wasn't surprised but all the eyes in the kitchen were on me, "There are more injuries their then there are here. I'm sorry sweat heart." He looked at me concerned, "I will be okay. I've got you and every one else." I could here my voice begin to crack. I didn't want him to see me cry again. So I returned too my pot of stew. I could feel Goerge's arm wrap around my shoulders, "Why don't you go home. Any ways I don't need ya tears in me soup." Like always he tried to make me laugh. I left kitchen in full tears.

I ran for the tent in full blast. I pushed threw who ever was in my way. Once I saw my mother I walked force fully toward her, "How come you didn't tell me! It hurts more to here it from a cheff." She wouldn't even look at me. She actually began to walk away from me. So I began to fallow her and repeat my self. I finally got her attention, "Look. Macie, you need to go." I looked at her mad, "Why should I go!?" She didn't respond. After a couple minutes she left. That's when I saw him.

James was laying on a bed on the other side of the tent. I was scared and happy at the same time. I couldn't be seen by or around him. I hurried out and followed my mother.  As soon as she heard me coming she began to speak, "When me and the girls leave I want you to got to town with men to pick up new nurses. You will need some more friend other then cook and his servants. Promise me this." I was confused by her request. I thought Goerge was a great friend. "Fine, I will do as you say." She laughed, "You don't understand. These girls are afraid. Most of them just want to help. Some they do it for there family. Most of there families are off at war. You aw the town." I didn't think of it that way but, it does make sense.I stopped fallowing her, she kept getting faster.

Me and my mother haven't talked sense that day. But I had to see her today it was the day she was leaving. Thank goodness things between me and Aaron aren't awkward. I decided to for once dress up. The last time I did I was getting ready to leave my home behind. Now i'm dressing up to see my mother leave our new home.I was sitting in front of the mirror taking my hair out of my curlers when Aaron came in. He had his tie in his hand, "How do I look?" I looked him up and down, "You look great." I stood up and helped him with his tie. His eyes sparkled again, "You look amazing you know that." He can be so sweat.I smiled back at him, "Thank you."

When we got home it was late, and I needed some sleep. I had to get up tomorrow to go into town to help out with finding new nurses. But those nurses over time would leave, and go further on to help out closer to the heart of the war. Just like my mother. I know tomorrow is going to be hard. Especially for the town. It has already lost so much. Between the horses, the men and now the women, i'm not sure it's even a town any more. I layed in bed thinking about how my mothers life will be like now. There will be worse wounds for sure. Then there's the casual burns and cuts but, what about the things they can't fix. I ultimately told myself to stop thinking and sleep, and I did. But that morning I woke up alon. Aaron had gone off for another day of training. I got up out of bed and fixed my self up. But as I washed my face there was a nock on the front door, "Come in!" I didn't bother looking till I was done. When I came out there was a soldier in my kitchen, "Miss.Macie, general told us you would be joining us on our way to town. I am sorry that I came in. I hope i'm not stepping out of line." Almost all the men here were polite so I didn't think of it as much. "It's no problem rely. And yes I am coming along. Are we leaving now." I folded the towel that was in my hands and placed it on the table. "Well yes we should probably get going." I nodded my head and we left the house. It was a shorter ride then usual to get into town. The town looked worse then it did last time. Almost no one in the streets. Most of the people that were in the street were wealthy. They didn't take much notice to our carriage pulling in. I then realize the other ones that followed. They were to carry the women back and one held crates and tables. As soon as we stopped they unloaded the tables and set up the sign up sheets.Women began to escape there homes. Even young teens. I sat by a man and he explained the sign up perseger. I signed up ten by the time I got bored. I decided to go see the girls who were already in the carts. I was surprised to see them excited. Most of them fantasising about the new life. I could understand there excitement most of them were in between eighteen and thirty. They didn't know that what they thought the training camp was wasn't. They soon noticed me, "Hello there! Aren't you just so excited were going to the training camp." Then another girl piped in, "And the whole place is covered in men! I am hoping that one falls for me!" I new that my face held the look of pity because There faces dropped with confusion. "It's not what you think it is. Trust me I live there. All of you will be living in tents together, working in the nursing tents during the day." I sat down on a bench, and the rest of them sat too. "There will be blood but usually not that bad. Its cuts and bruises. Then rarely a fight will brake out and then it's bad cuts and harsh bruises. There wont be time for love. But don't worry you will have each other." They all looked like sad children now. It was weird to think there older then me and there the ones upset and acting like children. "Don't worry you will all be fine."

It wasn't to late when we got back nearly only late after noon. I had gotten to know some of the girls, well the nurses.....NURSES...NURSES!!!! James I am not comftorable with them around him hes still mine. Hes alway in trouble to always hurt but as am I. So I don't think that there is any thing for me to worry about. I walked into the door of the house to see Aaron on the couch. He was home early, rely early. I walked over to him, "You're home early is some thing wrong?" I sat down next to him, "No nothings wrong I decided I wanted to spend some time with you. I was thinking about making dinner tonight and staying home." I was suprised but happy. It was a graet idea. I thought dinner would be a nice change for once.I kissed him on the head and next thing I knew he picked ne up. He brought me into his room and tucked me into bed. "get some sleep I will wake you later." But I didn't wake up to Aaron I woke up to banging...
