"Taehyung, will you be my boyfriend?"
It's nearing the end of October and the lake looks almost golden in the light of the setting sun. Leaves fall down around the two boys, some being carried away by the wind. One gets caught in Taehyung's orange hair, the colours matching perfectly. The other boy chuckles and releases one of his hands to gently remove the fallen leave. Music is softly playing from his phone, the song matching the mood perfectly. Taehyung is quiet for a while before smiling his signature smile, the one that, for a while, had seemed to have faded from his face forever.
"Yes Kookie, I will be yours"
Jungkook smiles before leaning in and finally, finally kissing the boy he loves most.
"I love you Kim Taehyung."
"I love you too."

The two boys walk into the school, their hands intertwined and matching smiles on their faces. In the distance they can hear Jackson whistling at them before Bambam shuts him up with a kiss. Jackson looks offended for about three seconds before giving in to his boyfriend. Or friend with benefits, nobody really knows for sure.
Jungkook pulls Taehyung into the cafeteria, scanning around the room for their friends. He finds them in the corner. Hoseok is playing with his food while Seokjin and Namjoon are fighting over what the name is their firstborn will be. ("No Namjoon, you can't call our son little monster, I don't care if it matches your stage name." "But Seokjin-")
Jimin is sat on Yoongi's lap. They are holding hands while passionately making out. Jungkook notices Taehyung's grip on his hand grow stronger and rubs his thumb over the older boy's hand reassuringly.
It's been half a year since Taehyung walked in on them. Half a year since Jimin had cheated on him. They had given it another try, but Taehyung couldn't do it anymore. There was always the feeling that Jimin would do it again if he got the chance. In the end Jimin had let him go. He couldn't be selfish anymore, only an idiot wouldn't have seen how unhappy Taehyung was.
Jimin and Taehyung had started talking again. It was awkward, but they both didn't want to lose the other. They had been best friends for a reason.
Yoongi and Jimin started dating almost immediately after the break up. Taehyung had cried, but Jungkook was always there to dry his tears, to pick up the pieces and puzzle them together again.
Taehyung and Jungkook sit down at their table and hold their joined hands up in the air. Hoseok is the first one that notices and starts screaming. Yoongi and Jimin break apart to see what the noise is all about. When Jimin notices their hands he looks at Taehyung. They make eye contact and Jimin smiles. Yoongi, Seokjin and Namjoon congratulate them. Seokjin is already planning their wedding when Jimin stands up and asks Jungkook if he can borrow Taehyung for a while. Jungkook is about to say no when his boyfriend shoots him a pleading look. He sighs. "Okay, fine, but please bring him back the way he is right now. No crying."
Jimin beams at him and takes Taehyungs hand from Jungkook before running of. They run through the school, and don't stop until they are standing behind the school, shielded from view by large trees. Taehyung opens his mouth to say something but the older boy beats him to it.
"Before you say anything, just hear me out." Taehyung nods, still not having let go of Jimins hand.
"I am so, so sorry for what happened between us. I was wrong to act the way I did and I know I've said this all before but it feels like the right thing to do right now. I just wanted to congratulate you. I'm glad you've finally found someone who is right for you, who isn't a fuckup. I really wish you all the best, Kim Taehyung. I'm sorry I couldn't give you what you wanted."
Taehyung says nothing as he pulls his former best friend in for a hug. His shoulders start shaking slightly as tears begin to form in his eyes. "Thank you Jimin."
Jimin pulls away before wiping the tears away. "Don't cry Taetae, don't be sad over me anymore. You've cried enough." Taehyung smiles through his tears and lets go of Jimin's hand.
"It's just that I'd never thought we could be friends again, but look at us." Jimin nods and smiles back at his old friend, his eyes almost disappearing.
"I love you taetae."
"I love you too jiminie."
But this time, they both knew it was true, even though the words mean something different now then all those months ago.
They hug again, tears still falling from Taehyung his eyes. It would be okay again. Everything will go back to normal.
"GET A ROOM YOU TWO."
The boys break apart before laughing and shouting back at the boy in the distance, feeling like nothing had changed at all.
"SHUT UP JACKSON."
