Zarah's POV
___________
"I can't believe I'm gonna meet the twins mom." I shrieked as she drove me to The Grove.
As we passed by the building, there was already a line four blocks long. And we still had well over an hour and a half to wait to get into the building.
I groaned, knowing I'd have to wait for what might as well be three hours before actually entering the building.
"What's wrong, don't you have VIP or something? Shouldn't you just go right in and avoid the line?"
"That's not how that works, mom. I don't have Front of the Line VIP. Just a pass to meet the twins."
"Ohh. That must suck then, huh. I bet these boys will be as big as The Beetles someday," my mom said as we finally pulled up to the end of the line.
"Mom, they don't sing."
"Well then what did I pay good money for? What do they do?"
"Technically, they act. They're recreating their YouTube videos or something along those lines. I don't know, I've seen videos on Twitter and Instagram okay?" I laughed as I unbuckled my seatbelt and got out of the car.
"All day with you kid, I swear. 'Dolan Twins this' and 'Dolan Twins' that." She shook her head, smiling. I ran over to her side and have her a kiss on the cheek.
"I'll let you know you when I'm in line for the meet and greet. Bye, love you." I started walking towards the line.
"Love you too. Have fun Zarah!" She shouted as she pulled away, leaving me to wait in line with a million and one other fan girls and boys.
I stood in line for a good five minutes before a gust of wind came out of nowhere, knocking my poster out of my hand and into the middle of the street.
I rushed to get it, making sure no cars were coming before I headed across the street.
All of a sudden, a black Escalade came out of nowhere, just like the gust of wind.
I jumped back and out of the way, not grabbing my poster in time. The car ran it over, a horizontal tire mark over the hours of work put into making it.
"God, I am so sorry." I roundish man hopped out of the front seat and picked up the poster.
"Oh my god," were the only words I could think of.
Hours, days, weeks of thought, effort, and especially hard earned money completely down the drain.
"This is my fault. I was driving a bit over the speed limit. I owe you the deepest debt of apology. I know a lot of these girls have probably been out here for hours." He rubbed a hand through his beard.
"It's... It's fine." I lied.
"How's this, when you get to the merch table," he went into his truck and picked up a piece of paper and a pen.
He quickly signed something on it and gave it to me. "Tell them Kyle sent you. Any item of your choice, on the house."
I mean, it was a pretty extravagant sign. It lit up and everything, but I don't think it was worth it.
"I couldn't. I'm sorry." I tried giving him the slip back.
"I insist." He pushed my hand back toward me.
"Wow, uh.. thank you. I.. I really do appreciate this, thank you."
"Absolutely no need." He got back into his truck, closing the door.
My gaze shifted to the rolling down window in the back seat.
"Have a great show." The familiar face smiled.
Grayson.
"Grayson? GRAYSON? OH MY GOD GRAYSON!!" Girls from the line screamed behind me and started running up to the car.
I quickly waved, not knowing what else to do or say, as the car drove off.
--------------
It was two hours before the line even started moving. I guess you could say I was standing in the midsection of the line because the actual end of the line was unknown.
I still can't believe what had just happened.
Kyle. The Kyle that everyone's been talking about. Ran over my poster and gave me free merch. On top of that I was able to see Grayson before the show even started.
I'm still shook.
I finally made it to the doors, showing the man my ticket and making my way to the merch stands.
The line was almost as long as the lines I see going to the grand re-opening of a local Starbucks.
I decided to skip the merch and go straight to the floor. I was lucky enough to get a spot in what looked like the third row. It still happened to be one of the best seats in the house in my point of view.
People started filing in left, right, and center and before I knew it I was squished as fuck (😭😂).
We had to wait another half an hour before the lights went down and the iconic Tuesday remix began to play. I quickly pressed record on my phone, the screen in front of us playing a video about them in LA.
When the video ended, they came out with a bang, shooting confetti into the crowd as we got hype.
"LA, WHAT'S GOOD?" I heard Grayson yell over the crowd of screaming fans.
"You guys are amazing." Ethan shouted, throwing his confetti cannon off to the side.
"I love every single one of you," Grayson smiled.
----------------
The show ended with Alex singing his iconic One Dance mashup, Ethan and Grayson joining them on stage. They, again, shot confetti into the crowd, bowing together at the end.
Well, at least we thought it was the end.
The had one more challenge. They had these rings, which they fired signed t-shirts through.
Grayson looked directly at me and smiled.
"Last one!" Ethan shouted, the timer about to run out.
I guess you could say I was extra lucky tonight, because I was one of the girls who got a shirt. The last shirt.
I held onto the shirt as if my life depended on it, smiling to myself as they ended the show with pleases and thank yous.
God, the only thing that will make this night 100% better, is meeting the twins.
--------------
I waited in line to get merch at the table. When I redeemed my "free merch", I waited in line to meet the twins. We had to wait a good 45 minutes before the Front of the Line finished their meet and greet.
I was near the end of the line with barely anyone behind me. The line moved about three feet every five minutes. I had reached a whole new level of exhaustion after waiting two hours, finally about three people from meeting the loves of my life.
"Looks like she's our last one." I recognized Kyle.
I looked behind me, realizing I actually was the last one. The butterflies flapped faster in the pit of my stomach, my heart racing with both nervousness and excitement.
"Wait, you're that girl from earlier, right. With the poster?" He stopped me.
"Oh, yeah. That's me." I laughed nervously.
"I'm so sorry, again," Kyle took my phone and guided me towards the waiting twins.
My eyes met with Grayson's almost instantly.
"Hey beautiful, what's your name," he asked, hugging me tightly.
"Zarah."
"Zarah? Did I say it right?"
"Yeah." I laughed into his chest.
"I love you Zarah," he kissed my cheek as I let him go and hugged Ethan.
"Hey Zarah, what's good?"
"I've been waiting for this moment for so long you guys have no idea."
"I love you so much." Ethan smiled.
"Aren't you the girl who we saw earlier? When Kyle accidentally..." Grayson drifted off.
I nodded.
"Damn, I actually feel really bad. It looked like a pretty dope poster. What'd you do with it?" Grayson asked as I stood in between the two of them.
"I trashed it." I hope I wasn't visibly shaking. I was trying to come off as calm and collected as possible.
"What?!" Grayson seemed genuinely surprised. "That was a really good poster. I'm jealous of the can it's in right now."
I laughed nervously, posing for the picture. Both twins leaned in and kissed my cheek, the lady catching it all on my camera.
"Thank you guys so much. I love you." I hugged Ethan first.
"I love you more." Ethan let go and I gave Grayson a hug, him squeezing my tighter than before.
"I'm gonna miss you Zarah. I want you to make us another poster, okay." He let go, holding my face in his hands.
"Okay," I laughed.
"I love you." He smiled, giving me one more quick hug.
"I actually wanna personally sign this one," he grabbed a small picture and a black sharpie.
He gave Ethan the picture first and I watched him sign his name by his face. He then gave it to Grayson, who covered it up as he signed his name.
He seemed to take longer than Ethan did, but I wasn't complaining.
"I'm trusting that you'll make me a new poster and call me when it's done." He smirked, handing me the slip.
My hand reached up to cover my gaping mouth.
His number.
"Uh, Grayson I don't think you should-"
"Ethan, relax. If my number gets leaked I know who to blame."
"I promise, I won't leak your number." I started laughing nervously, on the verge of tears.
"Don't tell anyone either, please Zarah. And this isn't just a fake or anything. These are the real digits." He laughed.
"You've got my word." I reached up and gave him another hug, going over to hug Ethan too.
"You're too beautiful not to trust." Grayson winked.
"Thanks again guys. I love you!" I took a sticker that the lady handed to me and headed downstairs.
"Bye Zarah!" They said at the same time.
