Maura's Point Of View:

"The victim has two lacerations in between her T5 and T6. Adhesive residue on her left and right wri--" I recorded before being interrupted by my phone ringing.
"Dr. Isles." I said
"Hello, Ms. Isles. It's Marcy, Sophia's principle. I know you are probably busy but I was wondering if you and Ms. Rizzoli would be able to come down here?"
"When would I need I be there?" I question
"Now would be great."
"Yes, I'll be right there. I'm not sure about Ja-- Ms. Rizzoli." I said catching myself
"Okay, thank you. I will give her a call." She replied before hanging up.

Usually the principle will call either me or Jane depending on who's keeping her since we gave her a schedule. I hope everything is okay. When I pulled up to the school, I parked my car to the closest spot by the office. I walked up to the office mentally preparing myself for what Sophia did. When I reached the office door, I took a deep breath before heading inside.
"Hello, I was called in by Ms. Marcy." I said to the young front office girl.
"Please sign in, and take a seat." She said. I grab the red pen and signed my name, and took a seat waiting to be called. Not soon after sitting down the office door swung open and Jane came clomping in.
"Hi, I was called in by the principle." She said
"Please sign in." The lady said. After she signed in she turned around and froze when she saw me. She quickly looked away and sat two seats away from me. I rolled my eyes and turned my head so I didn't see her at all.

After about five minutes of waiting, a middle aged woman, with short brown hair, dressed in a pants suit similar to what Jane wears came strutting out in three inch black high heels.
"Ms. Isles, Ms. Rizzoli." She said clearly not happy. She shook our hands one at a time.
"Hello." I said
"Hi." Jane said quickly after.
"Please follow me." She said in a stern voice.
"Is it me or does she seem like Corella Deville?" Jane whispered
"Jane." I whispered holding in a laugh.
"Okay, maybe a little." I said
"It's hard to admit that I'm right." She smiled
"Some of the time." I corrected
"All of the time." She quickly said back.

The principle lead us down the hallways before turning right then to the closed door that read 'Principle Alexander Marcy'. She opened the door and held it open for me and Jane. The 2x4 room held a book shelf, a desk, one leather office chair, and two other chairs in front of the desk. After I took quick glance, I saw a very upset Sophia slouching in one of the chairs in front of the desk.
"Please, take a seat." She said and Sophia's head immediately shot towards the door making eye contact with Jane, then me.
"Mommies!" She squealed and ran to us pulling the three of us in. Group hug.
"Hey sweetie." I said
"Hi baby." Jane then said. Me and Jane took at seat in the two black leather chairs and Sophia jumped on Jane's lap.

Jane's Point Of View:

It was silent for a minute. I was stroking Sophia's honey blonde hair, and Maura was looking at all the pictures and awards hanging from the white walls.
"So, I called you down here because Sophia got in a bit of trouble." She said not amused one bit. She has such a sour puss face. She looks like those people who are never happy and can't be around happy people cause she will infect them with her miserableness. Hence, she is like Corella Deville.
"What did you do Soph?" I asked and she looked up at me with her watery hazel eyes. I raised an eye brow due to her not answering my question.

She looked at Maura who gave her those 'you are gonna be in so much trouble' eyes. She looked down and still didn't say anything.
"You may as well tell us, cause if she won't answer the first time she won't talk at all. She is stubborn...like me." I said giving her a fake smile. I honestly hate this principle, and this is the first time I have personally met her.
"Well, she was in class and she punch Andrew in the eye." She said. Sophia has told me about this Andrew kid. She said he picks on her. I am so mad she punched him but apart of me of is thinking 'good for her'. She needs to be able to stand up for herself, I mean maybe not get so violent but still. I bet he shut up after that.
"Why did you punch him?" Maura asked. She just shrugged her shoulders and I heard little sobs.

Ms. Corella Deville over there looked like she has just about had enough.
"Your daughter has been acting out a lot lately. It has never gotten violent but this isn't her first our burst." She informed us.
"Well she has come home telling us that this Andrew kid had been picking on her."
"That may be the case but she can't go and punch him. She should have told the teacher."
"If I was being picked on i would have punched him too. Teach him not to mess with me." I said defending my daughter. I then felt the front of Maura's heel bash into my ankle. I let out a whimper and glared at her and she glared back.
"He wasn't picking on me today." Sophia finally spoke up.
"Then what did he do?" I asked
"Nothing." She replied
"Then why would you punch him?" Maura asked getting frustrated.

I looked at Maura and she didn't look happy. I put my hand on her arm and gave her a reassuring look.
"It was recess and I saw him on the slide playing. I was thinking about how he would take my snacks and my markers, so I punched him.
"Like I said, this isn't her first outburst. Sometimes she will argue with the teacher. I don't mean to pry but I have a feeling that she has been acting up because of the divorce, and--"
"You think this is our fault?" I asked getting angry.
"Jane. Let her finish." Maura said. I took a deep breath and calmed down.
"I think that she is confused and so she is taking her pent up anger out at school. Her whole life and normal routine is being disturbed. The two people she loves and cares about the most are suddenly not talking or living together. She each one of you like what, every four days? Her whole world is falling apart and she is confused. The only things she knows how to control is her anger." The principle finished explaining.
"Is this true Soph?" Maura asked trying to look at the six year old. Sophia simply nodded her head.
"I would like to set her up to see the school councilor once a week."
"No! Our kid is not some psychodrama all she needs is some explanations. To be fair we haven't really discussed anything that's happened with her, she goes along with this twisted roller coaster ride." I said losing my cool.
"Okay, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you." She said
"Oh, I know. I'm already upset." I replied
"Is that everything?" Maura asked
"Yes. Thank you for coming." She replied. We all stood up and shook her hand. We let ourselves out and Sophia held both mind and Maura's hand. It kinda felt like we were a family again. I miss this feeling.
"Maura, do you think we should go get something to eat and talk about this with her?" I asked as we walked out to the parking lot.
"Yes. I think that will be for the best." She said
"I'll see you in a few minutes." Maura said as she gave Sophia a hug then we went to our separate cars.

Maura's Point Of View:

We all met at The Dirty Robber. I was the first one to arrive, so I saved the booth in the back. The server brought over two menus, and a kids menu. I looked up and saw Sophia skipping over to me, her blue skirt bouncing up and down, with a big smile on her face. "Hi sweetie." I said and she jumped in the booth next to me. Not long after, Jane sat down across from up. We ordered out drinks and food, and kinda sat in silence not really knowing where to begin.
"Soph." I said. She stopped coloring her menu and looked up at me.
"Yes." She replied
"Do you understand what's going on with me and mamma?" I asked and she just shook her head no and went back to coloring. I noticed her was scribbling got faster and she was pressing down harder. This topic obviously made her mad. Well, I couldn't blame her, her whole life has been disrupted.
"Honey. Is there anything you want to talk about?" Jane asked
"Why don't you wuv mamma anymore?" She asked

Jane and I just started at each other.
"Well, you see I can't speak for mamma but I do still love momma. It's just too hard for us to live with each other right now." I said
"Yes. I still love mommy but we just can't get along ask we need some time apart." Jane said not taking her eyes off me.
"Then why do you have a new girlfriend if you still wuv mommy?" She asked. I felt hurt fill my body at the thought of Jane with another woman.
"Just because I'm with someone else doesn't mean I don't love mommy. I will always love mommy."
"Will you and mommy get back together?"
"Maybe some day in the future if things work out." Jane said looking at me.
"I hope so. I miss you and mommy and me all living together." She said continuing to color.
"No more punching kids cause we are mad?" I asked
"Yes mommy."
"Promise?" Jane asked
"Yes."
"Okay good. Now let's get food." Jane finished

Later that night I laid in bed thinking about what Jane said.
"Will you and mommy get back together?"
"Maybe someday in the future if things work out." That's all I could think of. Did she really say that? Or was she just trying give both Sophia and me false hope. No. I know Jane, she wouldn't say it if she didn't mean it. I rolled over in the silk sheets on my side and pulled what used to be Jane's pillow to my chest. I felt tears fall down my cheek and onto the white silk sheets.
