Yunseo's POV
I let myself into JB and Youngjae's room where JB was resting, sitting on the bed next to him. I brushed a piece of hair from his forehead, sliding my hand under his bangs to check his temperature before running my fingers through his hair. I was glad to notice he looked less pale and exhausted then when I'd last checked up on him and his temperature had cooled down as well. Obviously having been woken up by me walking in, JB wrapped an arm across my lap and shuffled closer to rest his head against my leg, groaning tiredly.
"Sorry I woke you," I whispered. "I heard you were sick and wanted to see you."
"It's okay," he replied, his voice raspy. I bent over, kissing his neck. I lifted my legs on the bed, sitting up against the wall, JB repositioning himself to rest his head on my lap as I ran my fingers through his hair, my other hand in his.
"You don't have to stay, you know," JB said quietly, sounding guilty to have his girlfriend take care of him.
"Funny how you say that right after you get comfortable. Almost like you're guilting me into staying with you..." He chuckled, slapping my leg playfully.
"Fine, leave then!" He joked, though he wouldn't let go of my hand. I laughed quietly, sliding down the wall to lie with him. "You should've come sooner. I feel better after seeing you," he admitted, wrapping me in his embrace. I felt my face grow hot as I blushed, JB burying his face in the back of my neck as I rested my hands on his that were around my body.
We both found ourselves laughing quietly as quick, sticky footsteps padded across the hardwood in the hallway accompanied with a childish scream as Jaeseo ran through the dorm. I looked at the clock that read 7:37 pm.
"Jae," I called out to my younger brother who found his way through the crack in the door.
"Yeah?" He asked, walking up to the bed in the dark.
"It's late for you. Aren't you tired?" I asked him, sitting up and letting JB's arms slide down to my hips as he watched us.
"Yeah." He agreed and I smiled.
"Why are you running all over the house like a crazy mutant then?" I asked. His face turned to pure shock as he attempted to figure out what was happening. How could I be tired and energetic all at the same time!? JB sat up too, his hand resting on my leg and other arm behind me, propping us both up.
"Youngjae! Bed time!" He screamed and half-ran, half-skipped out of the room as JB and I laughed at the two year olds response.
"He's so cute," I smiled, lying back down with JB.
"You're so cute," he said, getting comfortable on the pillow.
"Oh, stop!" I laughed, blindly hitting him, accidently between the legs. "I'm so sorry!" I gasped before laughing, rolling over to face him. "I'm sorry!" I laughed again.
"How dare you! First you invade a sick and sleeping man's bedroom, then you hit him in the goods!?" he joked, laughing too.
"I'm sorry!" I leaned over kissing him.
"That doesn't solve the problem! It's not my lips that hurt right now!" he raised his voice, laughing. I gasped at his implication, hitting him on the chest.
"If you don't shut up, I'll make your lip hurt in a second!" I joked, raising my fist into view and threatening to punch him. I threw a look over my shoulder to see if anyone had heard our conversation, laughing and resting my forehead forward onto his chest. I pulled away, looking up at him.
"You don't look, or act, sick anymore," I noted, smiling at him.
"Oh, trust me, I'm so sick right now. You have to stay all night to take care of me," he smiled.
"And your argumentative sarcasm just convinced me to stay. Well done," I laughed as he pulled me in tighter to his body.
"What are you doing tomorrow?" he asked, his voice muffled from being rested into my neck.
"Walk Charlie... Probably go to the hospital with Autumn," I lied. I had to go for myself. I would go with Autumn, but she'll go to the bone clinic for an x-ray, and I'd go to the doctor's office to discuss my MRI results. Again, I'd be lying if I said it wasn't freaking me the hell out. But I can't tell JB that... "We also have an afternoon rugby practice with the school team... What about you?"
"I think we're preparing for a comebackkk!" he groaned, half happily and half-dead.
"Why so soon? You've only just finished your last promotions."
"Dunno... Tiring though..."
"No kidding! Sleep now! Rest while you have the chance."
"I've been sleeping all day, I'm not tired!" he complained.
"Yeah? Well I've been up all day with classes and running a practice session with a bunch of high schoolers who have never heard the word 'rugby' before. I'm super tired." I snapped back playfully.
"How's the team looking so far?"
"It's hard to say at this point. From what I've gathered, it's a team with potential. There's a lot of football players and basketball players, so it will take a bit for them to adjust, but I'm looking forward to the training. It's weird to coach when my whole life, I was always the one being coached..."
"But that coaching pays off, right? You play a tough position and do a hell of a good job doing it! There's so much you can teach those guys, they're lucky you and Autumn are their coaches."
"Wow, rugby expert are we now?" I teased. "Maybe you should help coach some time."
"Oh, just take the compliment," he joked back in return and I chuckled, enjoying his playful company. We stayed up later than we should have, talking, joking, laughing, trying to be quiet and not wake the boys.
It had been a while since JB was able to relax. Me as well. It was a relief to just lie in bed and talk. Catch up. We were both always so busy we never have time for each other, or ourselves for that matter. Just being in JB's company was enough to make me happy, and the only thing I could hope was that this wouldn't be the last time I saw him before he disappeared again for promotions...
