A/N: First things first I changed the end of the last chapter just a little bit, so if you want to know what the little change is, just look back and otherwise have fun reading this chapter ;)

*16 years later*

‘Give it back!’ Jean yelled.
‘No, it’s mine.’ Scorpius yelled back.
‘Mom! Scorpius grabbed my candy.’ Jean yelled.
‘Seriously, just shut up.’ Narcissa said.
‘You’re not our mommy.’ Jean and Scorpius said in unison.
Hermione rolled her eyes and walked back into the living room.
‘Scorpius give your sister her candy back and Jean stop yelling.’ Hermione said.
Scorpius sighed and gave his little sister her candy back.
‘Thank you.’ Hermione said.
Her six year old ran towards Hermione and stopped in front of her.
‘Mommy?’ Jean said.
‘Yes?’ Hermione asked kneeling down in front of her.
‘When is uncle Harry coming?’ Jean asked.
‘Around 5.’ Hermione said smiling.
Jean smiled and ran towards the couch, sitting down on it and stuffing her mouth with candy.
‘Don’t eat too much honey, we don’t want you to feel sick.’ Hermione sighed.
Hermione and Draco had three children, the eldest one was Narcissa she was 16, then you had Scorpius he was twelve and the little six year old Jean. Harry and Ginny had also three children, James, Albus and Lilly. James was one year older then Narcissa, Albus was 13 and Lily was eight. Ron and Lavender had two children, Rose and Hugo, Hugo was the same age as Jean and Rose was the same age as Narcissa.
Hermione walked back to the kitchen and made herself a drink.
‘Mom.’ Narcissa said walking into the kitchen.
‘Something wrong?’ Hermione asked when she saw the face of her daughter.
‘Well, I need to tell you something.’ Narcissa said.
‘Oh dear God.’ Hermione sighed.
‘What did you do?’ She asked looking at her daughter.
‘I didn’t do anything!’ Narcissa said.
‘Oh, well what did you want to tell me?’ She asked.
‘Well- erm- I- James- erm-‘ Narcissa started.
‘What? Did James do something to you?’ Hermione asked.
‘Well- erm-‘ She started again.
‘Honey, you can say it, I won’t be mad.’ Hermione said.
‘James and I are together.’ Narcissa said fast.
‘Oh that, yes I already knew that, I’m happy for you.’ Hermione said.
‘What! How did you know?’ Narcissa asked with widened eyes.
‘Scorpius told me he saw the two of you kissing at school.’ Hermione told her daughter.
‘He did what?’ Narcissa asked.
‘SCORPIUS!’ Narcissa yelled and she ran towards the living room.
Hermione heard Scorpius yell and scream as his sister tried to get him. Then Scorpius ran into the kitchen and hid behind his mother.
‘YOU’RE DEAD!’ Narcissa shouted running after him.
‘Stop it!’ Hermione said.
‘But he-‘ Narcissa said.
‘I already told him to keep it for himself next time.’ Hermione said.
‘Does dad-‘ Narcissa started.
‘No, just me.’ Hermione said.
‘Please don’t tell dad, he’ll send me to the other end of the world and put me in a convent.’ Narcissa begged.
Hermione laughed.
‘He’s been young once.’ Hermione said.
‘But still.’ Narcissa said.
‘He’s not going to hear it from me.’ She said.
‘Or Scorpius, am I right?’ Hermione asked turning around to look at Scorpius.
Scorpius pretended to lock his lips and he threw the key away.
‘See.’ Hermione said.
‘Or me.’ Jean said walking into the kitchen.
‘Did you tell her too?’ Narcissa asked looking at Scorpius.
‘Tell me what?’ Jean asked.
‘No.’ Scorpius said.
‘Now please, can you just calm down? Dad will be home in a few minutes.’ Hermione said looking at her watch.
Then they heard the fireplace and Jean ran toward the living room.
‘DADDY.’ Jean said jumping in her father’s arms.
‘Hello princess.’ Draco said smiling giving his youngest daughter a hug.
‘I missed you.’ He said giving her a kiss on the cheek.
‘Ouch dad, you’re spikey.’ Jean said rubbing her cheek.
Hermione chuckled and walked into the living room.
‘And how was your day?’ Draco asked after he had put Jean down and walked over to Hermione, giving her a kiss on the lips.
‘Ieeuww.’ Their children said in unison.
Draco and Hermione chuckled and she let him go.
‘Potter told me, they would be here around 5.’ Draco said.
Hermione nodded and gave Narcissa a quick look.
‘Weasley would probably be a few minutes later.’ Draco went further.
‘Okay.’ Hermione said.
Draco went upstairs to change his working clothes for casual ones.
‘Dad.’ Jean said after him.
Draco stopped and turned around to look downstairs.
‘Don’t forget to shave.’ Jean told him.
Hermione smiled and she heard Draco laugh.
‘As you wish.’ Draco said and Hermione heard him walking further up the stairs.

‘I’ll get it.’ Jean said running towards the front door.
Hermione walked after her daughter and saw that the Potter family had arrived when she got to the front door.
‘Hello guys, come in.’ Hermione said smiling.
‘Good to see you, been a long time.’ Harry said giving Hermione a kiss on the cheek and passing her.
‘I can’t say the same thing, but always good to see you.’ Ginny said laughing giving Hermione a hug.
The children had already passed her and were probably inside.
‘Has James talked to you lately?’ Hermione asked softly.
Ginny smiled.
‘You know?’ She asked.
Hermione nodded.
‘Cute isn’t it.’ Ginny said smiling.
‘Is Ron here already?’ Ginny asked.
‘No, he would be a few minutes late.’ Hermione told her.
‘I brought dessert by the way.’ Ginny said holding the bowl up.
‘Great, you can put that in the kitchen.’ Hermione said walking with her.
‘Where is Draco?’ Ginny asked.
‘Upstairs, changing and Jean told him to shave.’ Hermione said laughing.
Ginny laughed.
‘I’m here, I’m here.’ Draco said coming into the kitchen.
Draco placed his arm around Hermione’s waist, pulling her into him and kissing her head.
‘Hey, how are you?’ Ginny asked.
‘Great, how about you?’ Draco asked.
‘Same.’ She said smiling.
‘Shaved?’ Hermione asked.
‘Yes.’ He said smirking.
‘Where is Potter?’ Draco asked.
‘I guess in the living room with the children.’ Hermione told him.
Draco nodded and took off.
‘Been a while that we’ve been together like this.’ Ginny said.
‘I know right.’ Hermione said.
Then the doorbell rang.
‘I got it.’ Jean yelled and they could hear her running through the hallway towards the door.
Hermione heard Ron and Lavender greet Jean, but she had already took Hugo’s wrist and ran up the stairs.
‘Door open!’ Draco shouted.
Hermione chuckled.
‘Cute.’ Ginny said.
Hermione smiled and nodded. Ron and Lavender both walked into the kitchen and gave both Ginny and Hermione a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
‘Living room.’ Hermione told Ron, before he could open his mouth and ask where Draco and Harry were.
‘Where will we be eating?’ Lavender asked.
‘I guess outside, the weather is great.’ Hermione said.
Ginny nodded.
‘Fine by me.’ She said.
‘Draco, can you make the table ready outside?’ Hermione shouted.
‘Yeah, yeah coming.’ She heard Draco coming to the kitchen.
‘We’re eating outside?’ Draco asked.
‘Yep.’ Hermione said turning towards the kitchen counter.
Draco walked outside and when Hermione looked through the window she saw a few chairs flying towards the table that was standing a few feet away from the house. The chairs settled themselves down around the table and cushions where placed on them. Draco came back in a few minutes later to get the plates and stuff. When Draco came back into the kitchen he looked at Hermione.
‘Anything else miss?’ He asked.
‘Here you go.’ She said giving him the bowl with lettuce and another with bread.
‘Thank you.’ She said smirking.
‘Everything for you.’ He said giving her a kiss on the cheek before walking back outside.
‘How do you do that?’ Lavender asked.
‘What?’ Hermione asked, snapping back to reality.
‘Being so in love, still?’ She asked.
Hermione shrugged.
‘I still feel the same way I did when we were younger.’ Hermione said.
‘After three kids.’ Lavender said.
Hermione nodded.
‘Why? Is everything okay between Ron and you?’ Hermione asked.
‘Did my brother do something stupid?’ Ginny asked.
‘No, it’s just he’s gone a lot and his job is quite dangerous. Sometimes he comes home with a new cut or something like that.’ Lavender said.
‘Same with Draco, that’s why we let the little moments count.’ Hermione told her.
Lavender nodded.
‘That’s true.’ She said.
‘Is he always like that by the way?’ Ginny asked.
Hermione laughed.
‘Honestly? No, he’s sweet and charming and stuff, but not always like this.’ Hermione said.
‘Maybe he did something stupid and he’s doing so sweet to bring you the bad news later?’ Ginny said.
‘You are horrible.’ Hermione laughed.
Ginny shrugged smirking.
‘Didn’t change a bit.’ Hermione said.
‘Not at all.’ Ginny said.
‘I’ll get the kids upstairs.’ Hermione said.
‘We’ll be outside.’ Lavender said.
Hermione walked out of the kitchen, up the stairs and stopped in front of Jean’s door. Hermione knocked and then opened it. She saw blankets had been hanged up into the form of a tent.
‘Jean?’ Hermione asked.
‘You need a password to come into our fort.’ Jean said.
‘A fort? Well, well honey, you’ve been busy, haven’t you?’ Hermione asked.
‘We.’ Hugo protested as his head poked out between the hanging blankets.
Hermione smiled.
‘I’m sorry, the two of you have been busy.’ Hermione corrected.
‘Password.’ Jean protested as she pulled Hugo back in.
‘I just came to say dinner was ready.’ Hermione said.
‘Password.’
Hermione rolled her eyes and thought about it.
‘Fluffy?’ Hermione asked.
‘How did you know?’ Jean asked defeated.
‘I know everything.’ Hermione said turning around.
‘Are you coming?’ Hermione asked.
Jean and Hugo came out of their fort and passed Hermione, running downstairs. Hermione passed the corner and walked over to Scorpius room, that was empty and then further to Narcissa’s. Her door was closed and when Hermione opened it so she could open the window, for some fresh air, she saw James and Narcissa sitting on the bed, their lips attached to each other, but that connection was broken as soon as Hermione cleared her throat. Narcissa’s cheeks turned bright red when she saw her mother standing in the doorway.
‘Dinner is ready.’ Hermione said with a smile.
‘Thank you miss Malfoy, we’ll come downstairs.’ James said.
Hermione raised her eyebrows and looked at Narcissa, who also looked with a confused face at her boyfriend.
‘I’ll see you downstairs then, and you can still call me by my name James.’ Hermione said before turning around.
‘What the hell was that?’ Hermione heard Narcissa say as soon as she passed the corner.
Hermione chuckled and walked downstairs.

They all laughed.
‘Gryffindor is the best obviously.’ James said.
Albus nodded.
‘No, no, Slytherin!’ Narcissa said.
‘Gryffindor!’ Rose said agreeing with the two boys.
‘No, absolutely not! Slytherin, right dad?’ Narcissa said turning to her father.
‘Of course! Come on, people we’re talking about the best.’ Draco said.
‘YEAH!’ Narcissa said and she and her father did an high five.
‘Well, that’s going to be a voting then.’ Albus said.
‘Who’s for Slytherin?’ Albus asked.
Narcissa and Draco both raised their hands.
‘Who’s for Gryffindor?’ Albus said grinning.
Immediately James and Albus’ raised their hands, Hermione, Ginny, Harry, Ron, Lavender and Rose doing the same.
‘Guess what! The winner is Gryffindor!’ Albus said high fiving his brother.
‘Did I miss something?’ Scorpius asked as he arrived back at the table.
‘I guess not.’ Hermione said still laughing.
Hermione looked over at Jean and noticed she was quiet, talking about Jean that was strange.
‘Jean can you come and help me get the dessert?’ Hermione asked.
Jean looked up and nodded, getting off her chair and walked with Hermione into the house. Hermione got some plates out and put them on the kitchen counter.
‘Do you want to tell me what’s bothering you?’ Hermione asked.
Jean looked up at her mother and shrugged.
‘You can tell me anything.’ Hermione said.
Hermione looked at her daughter, Jean looked just like Hermione did at that age. Jean’s eyes chocolate brown, just like Hermione’s, Jean’s hair looked just like Hermione’s had done. Hermione gave her a smile.
‘Would you still love me if I’m not going to be put in Gryffindor?’ Jean asked.
Hermione raised her eyebrows.
‘Honey, how can I ever stop loving you?’ Hermione said turning her body fully towards Jean.
‘Because.’ Jean said shrugging.
‘Don’t ever worry about that again Jeanny, it doesn’t matter in what house you’ll be placed. Every house has great qualities.’ Hermione said.
‘It’s an honour to be placed in one of those houses and it doesn’t matter which one. As long as you’ll be happy and feel home.’ Hermione went on.
Jean nodded.
‘And your dad and I are proud of you no matter what.’ Hermione said.
‘Promised?’ Jean said.
‘Promised.’ Hermione said.
Hermione walked over to Jean and pulled her into a hug.
‘I love you.’ Hermione said.
‘I love you too.’ Jean said.
Hermione smiled and let her daughter go.
‘Let’s get those desserts out.’ Hermione said and the plates with the cake on them started to fly out of the door, landing on the table outside in front of the people.
‘Which house do you want to be in Hugo?’ Draco asked.
‘Gryffindor.’ Hugo said.
Ron smirked.
‘That’s my boy.’ He said.
Lavender rolled her eyes as Hugo looked proud.
‘What about you Jean?’ Ron asked.
‘I don’t know.’ Jean said shrugging.
‘I think you would fit great into Gryffindor.’ Harry said giving her a wink.
Jean smiled.
‘Ravenclaw would be a good one for her too, always with her nose in her books.’ Ginny said.
‘We’ll see in 6 years, don’t we?’ Hermione said sitting back down on her seat.
Jean gave her mother a smile and nodded.

‘Please watch out for your sister.’ Hermione said as Scorpius almost flew into Jean with his broomstick.
The kids were playing some quidditch in the garden and were having a lot of fun. Draco had giving himself the job of teaching all the children how to fly a broom and play quidditch and he had done a great job with that.
‘Rose! Watch out!’ Lavender said.
‘James, please don’t do that, you know it scares your sister.’ Ginny shouted.
‘Come on! You can’t let the Malfoy’s win this!’ Ron shouted.
‘SHOW THEM WHAT A POTTER CAN DO BEST!’ Harry shouted.
Ginny and Lavender looked over at their husband’s with their eyebrows raised.
‘Really?’ Lavender asked.
‘Harry?’ Ginny asked.
Both men turned around and shrugged.
‘It’s good for them.’ Ron said.
Draco took another sip of his drink and looked at what was happening in front of him.
‘Why aren’t you supporting your team?’ Ron asked.
Draco shrugged.
‘They’ll beat you either way.’ Draco said.
Hermione rolled her eyes.
‘I wouldn’t be so sure about that.’ Ron said.
‘Oh I am, they’ll score in five, four, three, two, on-‘
Then the cheering of Narcissa, Scorpius and Jean could be heard.
‘Good job! That’s how we do it! Malfoy style!’ Draco said after he had turned around.
They gave their father a big smile and one by one came by to give him a high five.
‘Good job Jeanny, you’ve got talent.’ Draco said.
Jean smirked and flew back up.
‘That is how we do it.’ Draco said turning back to the adults.
Ron huffed.
‘That was coincidence.’ Ron said.
‘Nope, it wasn’t, happens every time.’ Hermione said.
Ron looked at his best friend.
‘Sure.’ he said.
‘Really.’ Hermione said.
‘I bet my children will be the winner at the end of the game.’ Ron said.
‘How much?’ Draco and Harry asked at the same time.
’10 galleons.’ Ron said.
‘I’m in.’ Draco and Harry said in unison.
After around thirty minutes the game was over and Draco had taken the money from both men.
‘Thank you.’ Draco said.
‘Malfoy style.’ Draco said smirking as he gave his three kids a high five and gave each 10 galleons.
‘Great job.’ he said.
‘Thanks dad.’ Narcissa said.
‘You’re the best.’ Scorpius said.
Jean climbed on her father’s lap and gave him a kiss on the cheek before settling herself down, leaning against his chest.
‘I’m tired.’ Jean said yawning.
‘Do you want to go to bed?’ Draco asked.
Jean shook her head.
‘Of course not.’ Draco said looking at Hermione who chuckled.
‘You all did a great job.’ Hermione said.
Ginny and Lavender nodded.
‘I’m proud of you.’ Ginny said kissing Lilly on the cheek.

‘Remember when you sneaked out of Hogwarts and into Hogsmeade?’ Hermione asked laughing.
‘And Malfoy’s face!’ Ron laughed.
Jean had fallen asleep against Draco’s chest. Hugo had gone inside and had settled himself down on the couch, falling asleep on it a few minutes later.
‘It was you who threw those snowballs?’ Draco asked.
Harry, Hermione and Ron couldn’t stop laughing anymore.
‘I didn’t know you sneaked out of Hogwarts.’ James said turning to his dad.
‘Yes, but don’t you dare to do the same! I had good reasons and if you deserve it we will just sign the paper so you can go.’ Harry said.
Ginny nodded in agreement.
‘Take some risk in life.’ James said.
Harry laughed.
‘I think I’ve taken enough risk for a life time.’ Harry said.
Hermione nodded.
‘Shall we go?’ Lavender asked turning to Ron.
‘Yes, Hugo is sleeping inside and I think Rose isn’t going to make another minute.’ Ron said looking over at his daughter.
Hermione saw Rose coming up and opening her mouth, but settled back, too tired to argue.
‘It’s been a long day.’ Hermione said.
Ginny nodded placing her hand on Harry’s.
‘Shall we go too?’ she asked.
‘Good idea.’ Harry said.
Lily who was sitting in the chair next to Hermione had closed her eyes too and Hermione guessed she had fallen asleep in the past two minutes.
‘I’ll carry her.’ Harry said getting up.
Harry lifted his daughter off the chair and she groaned, but didn’t open her eyes.
Ron had already gone inside, taking his son off the couch and was now waiting in the door opening. Hermione stood up so she could walk them out.
‘Can you bring the little angel to bed?’ Hermione asked.
Draco nodded.
‘It was fun.’ Harry said.
‘See you Monday at work.’ Draco said nodding.
‘See you.’ Ron said.
Draco walked inside with Jean in his arms.
‘Are you coming?’ Ginny asked looking over at Albus and James.
‘Yeah, yeah.’ Albus said getting up and walking after his mother inside the house.
Hermione walked with Ginny, Harry, who was holding a sleeping Lily, Albus, Ron, who was holding a sleeping Hugo, Rose and Lavender to the door.
‘Where is James?’ Harry asked.
Hermione turned around and saw James’ flushed face and chuckled to herself, shaking her head lightly.
‘Here he comes.’ Hermione said stepping aside.
‘Thank you, it was awesome as always.’ James said fast walking out of the house.
Hermione smirked.
‘I’ll be watching for the next evening.’ Hermione said.

‘We too.’ Ginny said kissing Hermione on the cheek and giving her a hug.
‘See you next time Malfoy.’ Harry said winking and he gave her a kiss on her cheek too.
Hermione rolled her eyes and turned to Lavender and Ron.
‘Dinner was great by the way.’ Ron said kissing her on the cheek.
‘Next time it’s at your place right?’ Hermione asked.
Lavender nodded.
‘Talk to you later.’ Lavender said kissing her on the cheek and giving a hug.
‘See you Malfoy.’ Ron said.
‘Just so you know, I didn’t come up with the whole “Malfoy style” thing, just so you know!’ Hermione said.
‘Of course, only a prat like Malfoy could come up with something like that.’ Ron said over his shoulder.
‘And you’re still Granger for me.’ Ron said giving her a wink.
Hermione laughed and waved at the Potters and Weasleys until they couldn’t be seen anymore. She closed the door and turned around, walking back to the garden. Coming there she found Narcissa sitting there with Scorpius in complete silence.
‘That was fun, wasn’t it?’ Hermione asked sitting back down.
They both nodded.
‘Next time will be at the Weasleys.’ Hermione told them.
‘Why are we seeing uncle George again?’ Scorpius asked.
‘Why?’ Hermione asked.
‘Because he promised me last time he would teach me how to make those sweets.’ Scorpius said.
‘In that case, never.’ Hermione said.
‘But mom!’ Scorpius said.
‘I don’t want you to use those things, they are dangerous.’ Hermione said.
‘No they aren’t, George sells them in his shops.’ Scorpius said.
‘What’s wrong?’ Draco asked walking back into the garden and sitting down next to Hermione.
‘Mom won’t let me see uncle George.’ Scorpius said.
‘We’ll go see him tomorrow.’ Draco said.
‘Draco!’ Hermione said.
‘That’s not-‘ Hermione said.
Draco rolled his eyes and cupped her cheek with his hand, pulling her face his way and kissed her on the lips. Hermione knew it was weird, but when he did that she felt like a teenage girl who was totally in love with her boyfriend.
‘Ieuw! Gross!’ Narcissa and Scorpius shouted in unison.
Hermione chuckled pulling back.
‘You still got it in you.’ Draco said winking.
‘OH MY GOD, YOU DID NOT JUST SAY THAT!’ Narcissa yelled.
Hermione and Draco laughed.
‘That’s just gross.’ Scorpius said rubbing his eyes.
‘I guess it’s bedtime for you sir.’ Hermione said.
‘I’m not tired.’ Scorpius lied.
‘Of course you’re not.’ Draco said.
‘Party all day and all night right?’ Draco said.
‘Yeah!’ Scorpius said.
Hermione rolled her eyes and then the doorbell rang. Hermione wanted to get up, but Draco kept her from doing that.
‘I’ll go.’ he said kissing her cheek and walking off to the front door.
Hermione heard him open it and then something she hadn’t expected.
‘WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?’ Draco yelled.
Hermione looked at Narcissa and Scorpius and fast got up.
‘Stay here.’ she said.
‘But-‘ they both protested.
‘Stay!’ Hermione said running towards the front door.
When she got there she saw to her surprise platinum blond hair, that had gone white. Hermione gasped when she saw Lucius Malfoy leaning with his hand against the doorframe.
‘Lucius?’ Hermione said.
Draco turned around.
‘Go back inside, Hermione.’ Draco said holding his hand out.
‘What are you doing here?’ Hermione asked ignoring her husband.
‘I’m sick.’ Lucius said.
‘Do you need a doctor?’ Hermione asked stepping forward.
Lucius shook his head as he coughed.
‘What are you doing?’ Draco asked.
‘Helping your father.’ Hermione said as she wanted to step closer.
Draco put his arm in front of her, blocking her way to the helpless man in front of their door.
‘Mom? Who’s that?’ Scorpius asked behind her.
Hermione turned around and looked at her two kids that hadn’t listened to her. Hermione sighed.
‘I told you to stay there.’ Hermione said.
‘Kids go up to your room.’ Draco said sternly.
Narcissa and Scorpius looked from their mother to their father with confused faces.
‘But who is that?’ Narcissa asked.
‘Go. To. Your. Room.’ Draco said.
‘Do what your father tells you.’ Hermione said before they could say anything else.
Narcissa gave her mother a worried look.
‘Everything is okay, just go to bed. I’ll be upstairs in a bit.’ Hermione told her first born child.
Narcissa nodded slowly.
‘But-‘ Scorpius started, but Narcissa had grabbed his arm and pulled him to the stairs.
‘Narcissa!’ Scorpius exclaimed.
‘Shut up.’ Narcissa said pulling him with her upstairs.
Hermione turned back and looked at her husband and father in law.
‘Go away.’ Draco said.
‘I need your help.’ Lucius coughed.
‘I won’t give you any.’ Draco said.
‘Yes we will, he’s your father.’ Hermione said fast getting to Lucius and wrapping her arm around him to help him walk inside.
‘He almost killed you remember?’ Draco said furious.
‘That’s the past and he apologized.’ Hermione told him.
‘He even helped me to get Pansy back.’ Hermione said as she walked into the living room.
Draco had thrown the door closed and had walked after them.
‘He left the note you gave to McGonagall.’ Hermione told him, placing his father on the couch.
‘I’ll get you some water.’ Hermione said and she walked over to the kitchen.
‘He’s still a monster.’ Draco said as he followed her.
‘He’s still your father.’ Hermione told him.
‘He can’t go to the hospital, because he will be send to prison and die there.’ Hermione said.
‘Why would we care?’ Draco asked.
‘He made both our lives a hell on some point.’ Draco said.
‘And everything is perfect now, I don’t want him to ruin that.’ Draco exclaimed.
Hermione turned around with the glass of water in her hand and looked up at her husband.
‘You really think everything is perfect?’ Hermione asked.
Draco nodded.
‘You’re the best thing that has happened in my whole life and now we have these three beautiful children.’ Draco said.
‘I don’t want him to ruin this too.’ Draco said.
‘You know he came to our wedding?’ Hermione asked.
Draco raised his eyebrows.
‘He didn’t.’ Draco said.
‘He did, he was standing after you, not close obviously, but when I saw him he gave me a smile, as if he gave us his blessing and he even looked proud when he looked at you.’ Hermione said.
‘I don’t care about his blessing and I still want him out of my house.’ Draco said.
‘Our house.’ Hermione said.
‘Draco please, just let me help him and then he’ll go away.’ Hermione said and she gave her husband a kiss on the cheek and walked back into the living room.
‘Those two children? Are they yours?’ Lucius asked.
Hermione smiled and nodded.
‘The girl is our oldest, Narcissa and the boy is the middle one Scorpius.’ Hermione said.
‘Three children?’ Lucius asked.
‘Yes, our youngest is named Jean.’ Hermione said giving Lucius the glass of water and the medicine she had taken with her.
‘Scorpius looks like Draco when he was younger.’ Lucius said.
Hermione smiled and nodded.
‘I saw the pictures, he’s almost an exact copy of Draco at that age.’ Hermione said sitting down.
‘Where have you been living the past few years?’ Hermione asked.
‘In the Malfoy Manor.’ Lucius said.
‘What? Really?’ Hermione asked.
Lucius nodded.
‘I wanted to come over, but I was scared of Draco’s reaction.’ Lucius said.
‘Narcissa never mentioned it.’ Hermione said.
‘I told her not to.’ Lucius said.
‘Why did you come? Because you didn’t came for the care, Narcissa can do that too.’ Hermione asked.
‘I’m dying Hermione.’ Lucius said.
Hermione looked at him with worry.
‘What do you mean?’ Hermione asked.
‘I’m dying, that’s a fact, I’ll die soon and I wanted to see my son for one last time in real life.’ Lucius said.
‘I’ve been going through old photo books that Narcissa had made.’ Lucius told her.
‘I’m sorry for all the best things I’ve done, I really am.’ Lucius said.
‘I forgive you.’ Hermione said.
Lucius gave her a small smile.
‘That means a lot Hermione Malfoy.’ Lucius said and he looked down at his hands.
Hermione smiled.
‘And he’ll do the same one day.’ Hermione said.
‘I can ensure you that one.’ she told him.
‘I don’t know, he can be really stubborn.’ Lucius said.
‘I know.’ Hermione said.
‘But he’ll accept your apology one day.’ Hermione said.
‘Thank you for taking care of him.’ Lucius said.
‘Of course.’ Hermione said.
‘You two look happy together.’
‘We are.’ Hermione told him.
‘You’re doing him good.’ Lucius said.
‘He’s glowing. I’ve never seen him glowing before.’ Lucius said.
Hermione smiled.
‘And the way he wants to protect you, that urge, that’s called real love.’ Lucius said.
‘You know he’ll give his life for you right? Still.’ Lucius went on.
‘I saw it when he came to get you back when-‘ Lucius said and stopped.
Hermione nodded.
‘I know and I would do the same.’ Hermione said.
‘I’ll be going then.’ Lucius said.
‘Lucius?’ Hermione asked after he had stood up.
Lucius looked at her as she stood up too.
‘I’ll come and visit you with the children.’ Hermione said.
Lucius smiled.
‘That would wonderful.’ Lucius said thankfully.
Hermione smiled and nodded.
‘I’ll see you soon.’ Hermione said.
Lucius nodded.
‘See you soon.’ Lucius said and he walked towards the door.
When he was gone, Hermione closed it behind him and turned back around to walk back to the living room, but Draco blocked her way.
‘You’re not going with the children to that bastard.’ Draco said.
‘Yes I am, they deserve to know who their grandfather is before he dies and he deserves to meet them too.’ Hermione said as she pushed Draco aside and passed him.
‘Look what he does! Hermione look at me!’ Draco said.
‘He deserves a second chance.’ Hermione said not turning around, but grabbing the glass off the table.
‘Our evening was great and then he came and look at us!’ Draco said.
‘Hermione look at me!’ Draco said as he grabbed her arm and turned around.
The glass slipped from her hand and fell to the ground.
‘Dad!’ Narcissa shouted.
Both Hermione and Draco turned around to see their daughter standing in the doorway, horror washed over her face. Draco widened his eyes.
‘Narci-‘ Draco started.
‘Mom? Are you okay?’ Narcissa asked ignoring him.
‘Yes, honey, I’m perfectly fine, I’m just clumpy and dropped the glass.’ Hermione said.
‘No you aren’t and you didn’t, I heard and saw everything.’ Narcissa said.
‘How can you do that?’ Narcissa exclaimed turning to her father.
‘How can you threat mom like that?’ Narcissa said furious.
‘I didn-‘ Draco started.
‘I HATE YOU!’ Narcissa shouted and she ran upstairs.
‘Narcissa!’ Draco said.
‘I’ll go.’ Hermione said.
Draco looked at Hermione and Hermione saw tears welling up in his eyes.
‘Don’t worry about it, she doesn’t hate you.’ Hermione said.
‘Hermione.’ Draco said as she started to walk away.
‘I’m sorry.’ he said.
‘It’s okay, you didn’t mean it like that.’ Hermione said.
Draco wanted to open his mouth again.
‘It’s okay, no one got hurt.’ Hermione said.
‘Can you clean that up? Before someone steps on it?’ Hermione asked.
Draco nodded and a tear rolled down his cheek. Hermione felt a pang in her chest and she walked back, kissing him on the cheek and hugging him tightly.
‘Don’t worry, I’ll talk to you.’ Hermione said.
‘I hurt you.’ Draco said.
‘No you didn’t, I’m fine.’ Hermione said.
‘What would’ve happened if Narcissa hadn’t interrupted?’ Draco said.
‘Nothing, we would probably still be arguing.’ Hermione said.
‘I was so furious.’ Draco said softly.
‘I know. Now please clean this up, I’ll be right back.’ Hermione said.
She pulled away and gave him a kiss on the lips before fast running upstairs.
‘He would’ve slapped her.’ Hermione heard from Narcissa’s room.
Hermione came into her room and saw Narcissa holding her Iphone against her ear.
‘Narcissa? What are you doing?’ Hermione asked.
Narcissa started and turned around.
‘It’s just me, don’t be scared.’ Hermione said.
Hermione saw her daughter was crying, her cheeks were red and Hermione guessed she had a headache.
‘Dad- he-‘
‘He didn’t do anything, we were having an argument.’ Hermione said.
‘You never fight.’ Narcissa said.
‘Of course we do, sometimes.’ Hermione said.
‘Everyone does.’ she said.
‘You will too with your husband, it’s normal.’ Hermione said.
‘But he hurt you.’ Narcissa said.
‘No he didn’t.’ Hermione said.
‘Your arm is red.’ Narcissa said.
Hermione looked down and saw a red handgrip around her arm.
‘I almost fell, he grabbed me.’ Hermione said.
‘I heard you yelling at each other.’ Narcissa said.
‘It was nothing mayor.’ Hermione said.
‘It sounded otherwise.’
‘It wasn’t.’ Hermione said.
‘Your dad, he’s shocked about what just happened.’ Hermione said.
‘And believe me, I haven’t seen him this upset in a long time.’ Hermione said.
‘And honestly, if he’s hurt I can feel the same.’ Hermione told her daughter.
Narcissa looked up.
‘You do?’ she asked.
‘Mentally, not physically of course.’ Hermione said.
‘You love him that much? Even after what he did?’ Narcissa asked.
‘He can do stupid things sometimes, he’s only human.’ Hermione said.
‘Just like you, he makes mistakes.’ Hermione said.
‘So do you want to give me a favour?’ Hermione asked.
‘What?’ Narcissa asked.
‘Go downstairs and tell him it’s okay, that you’re not mad at him.’ Hermione said.
‘But I am.’ Narcissa said.
‘Please, I will feel much better if you do that.’ Hermione said.
Narcissa sighed and nodded.
‘I’ll call you back.’ Narcissa said into her phone.
‘Who were you calling?’
‘James.’
Hermione smiled.
‘Of course.’ she said.
Narcissa looked down and then got up. Hermione walked with her daughter downstairs where Draco had seated himself down on the couch, sitting there with his head in his hands.
‘Draco?’ Hermione said.
Draco looked up and gave a surprised look when he saw his daughter standing next to Hermione. Narcissa walked closer to her dad and stopped in front of him.
‘I’m not mad at you dad.’ she said.
Darco looked at Hermione and she nodded.
‘I’m really sorry Cissa.’ Draco said.
Narcissa nodded and hugged her father.
‘But if you ever try to hurt mom again, or even think about it-‘ Narcissa said.
‘That won’t happen, never.’ Draco said.
‘Promise?’ Narcissa said.
Draco nodded.
‘Promise.’ Draco said.
Narcissa pulled away and looked at her mother, who gave her a smile.
‘I’m serious.’ Narcissa said.
Draco nodded.
‘I know.’ Draco said.
Narcissa walked to her mother and gave her a hug.
‘Good night.’ Narcissa said.
‘Good night honey, and please don’t tell anyone about what happened.’ Hermione said softly.
Narcissa nodded.
‘I’ll call James back.’ she said softly.
Hermione nodded and gave her daughter a kiss on the cheek. Narcissa walked upstairs and Hermione looked at Draco.
‘I’m going to bed.’ Hermione said.
‘I’ll be coming in a minute.’ Draco said.

Hermione was reading a book when Draco walked into their room. He stepped in bed and sighed.
‘Look Mione-‘ Draco said.
‘Don’t, it’s okay.’ Hermione said.
‘No it’s not, I snapped.’ Draco said.
‘Yes you did.’ Hermione said.
‘I just don’t know what happened.’ Draco said.
‘I was furious because of him and then everything went fast.’ Draco said.
Hermione nodded.
‘I get that, but he’s your father and he still cares about you.’ Hermione said.
‘It was, it is wrong to react the anger at you. I’m really sorry.’ Draco said.
‘I know.’ Hermione said.
Draco was looking at her face and then his eyes travelled down to her arm.
‘Did I do that?’ he asked.
Hermione looked down and saw the red hand that had been around her arm, was now starting to become a bruise.
‘It doesn’t hurt.’ Hermione said.
‘Of course it does.’ Draco said and then he started to get out of bed.
‘What are you doing?’ Hermione asked.
‘I’ll sleep on the couch tonight.’ Draco said.
‘No you’re not.’ Hermione said.
Draco looked down at her and Hermione could see hurt crossing his face.
‘You’re staying right here.’ Hermione said.
‘What if I snap again?’ Draco asked.
‘You won’t.’ Hermione said.
‘Now sit your ass back down.’
‘Draco I mean it.’ Hermione said.
Draco looked at her and then shook his head, leaving the room. Hermione called for him, but he didn’t respond. Hermione sighed and placed her book on the nightstand, closing her eyes. She was having a huge headache and felt she was really tired, but there was no way she would fall asleep like this.
‘Is my marriage really going to end like this?’ she thought.
Hermione sat up straight.
‘Look what we have, we have a wonderful life together and if he’s taking the easiest way, does that mean he doesn’t want to be here anymore? Does that mean he’ll leave me one day, that the only times we see each other is when we bring the children or pick them up? I don’t want him out of my life. I’ll always want to fight, and who cares he snapped? I don’t, it happens, shit happens.’ she thought and she got out of bed. Hermione walked downstairs and into the living room, where Draco was lying on the couch.
‘Draco?’ Hermione said.
Hermione saw in the dark his head lift up. Draco turned a light on and looked over at her.
‘Please come back to bed.’ she said.
‘Hermione, I want you to feel save with me.’ Draco said.
‘I am.’ she said.
‘Don’t lie, you’ll never feel save with me again after what happened tonight.’ he said.
‘Because you think that, which is obviously not true, you’ll just take the easiest way? Avoid me, staying out of my way, just because you think I don’t want you around me, because I don’t feel save around you anymore, that’s bullshit Draco!’ tears welled up in her eyes, but she just went on. ‘I want you to be more around, you’re always working, and I know it’s your job, that comes with it, but the kids miss you and so do I. I don’t care what happened tonight, I still feel the same way about you, I still love you.’
‘It’s just all too perfect to be true and I’m afraid of the moment I screw up and you’ll leave me.’ Draco said.
‘That will never happen.’ Hermione said and she walked closer to the couch.
‘You don’t know that.’ Draco said.
Hermione sat down next to where his feet were laying.
‘I do.’ Hermione said.
‘If you really don’t want me to go and visit your father with the children, I won’t.’ Hermione said.
Draco frowned.
‘If you think it’s good for the children to go, just go.’ Draco said.
‘Are you coming?’ Hermione asked.
Draco shook his head.
‘It would mean a lot to me.’ Hermione said.
‘If he doesn’t want to listen to me I’ll just go guilt tripping.’ she thought.
‘I need you.’ she said.
‘Okay, I’ll come with you.’ Draco said after a moment of silence.
Hermione smiled.
‘Thank you.’ she said.
‘Can you scoot over?’ she asked.
Draco looked at her with a questioning look.
‘Just do it.’ she said.
He did what he was told and Hermione laid down next to him. Draco placed his arm around her and she gave him a kiss.
‘The whole point of me sleeping down here was that I wouldn’t hurt you.’ Draco said.
Hermione shrugged.
‘I can’t sleep without you next to me.’ she said.
‘Yes you can, when I’m late, you’re always fast asleep.’ Draco said.
‘No I’m not.’ Hermione said.
‘Yes you are.’ Draco said.
‘How can I know that you always give me a kiss on the forehead and you tell me that you love me?’ Hermione pointed out.
‘You never show you’re awake.’ Draco said.
‘Because I’m tired.’ Hermione said.
‘And after that I fall asleep.’ she said.
Draco chuckled.
‘You know, next time I’ll just start asking you things.’ Draco said.
‘And I won’t answer.’ she said.
Draco rolled his eyes smiling. Hermione closed her eyes and the smile on her face slowly faded away as she sleep started to get to her.
‘Mione.’ Draco said.
‘Mmm.’
‘Promise me you’ll never give your life for me.’ Draco said.
Hermione opened her eyes and looked at him in surprise.
‘What do you mean?’
‘The conversation you had with- with him, I heard you two, you said you would do the same.’ Draco said.
‘But I’m asking you, if it ever happens, don’t.’ Draco said.
‘It will never happen.’ Hermione said.
‘But if it will, just promise me you’ll save yourself.’ Draco said.
‘Our children need their mom.’ Draco said.
‘They need their dad too.’ Hermione said.
‘And I couldn’t live without you.’ Draco said.
Hermione looked down.
‘The same for me Draco, don’t think I would be mourning for a few weeks and then forget about you. Those thoughts will haunt me forever.’ Hermione said as tears welled up in her eyes again.
‘Don’t ever say that again!’ Hermione said.
Draco pulled her into him and kissed the top of her head.
‘I’m sorry.’ he said.
‘Never.’ she said.
‘I’m sorry.’ he said again.
Hermione grabbed his arm and pulled it away from her, sitting up straight and kissing him on the lips. She tasted her salty tears as she kissed him.

Hermione slowly woke up the next morning as the morning light shone through the windows on her face. The curtains hadn’t been shut completely as she now noticed. Hermione saw her pyjamas lying next to the couch and she slowly sat up straight, picking them up from the ground and pulling them back on. She turned to look behind her and saw Draco laying there, still fast asleep.  She picked his pyjamas up from the ground and placed them on top of the blanket that was draped over him. Hermione smiled to herself as she looked at his messy blonde hair. He hadn’t changed much in those almost 20 years. He still looked the same, of course wrinkles had popped up on his forehead and he looked more tired, but that was all. Draco slowly opened his eyes and blinked at the light. He then looked up at Hermione and gave her a smile.
‘You still got it in you.’ he said smirking.
‘Same for you.’ she said, leaning down and kissing him.
‘But please pull your pyjamas back on before one of the children gets downstairs.’ Hermione said after she pulled away.
Draco chuckled and pulled his pyjamas back on. He folded the blanket up and placed it on the side of the couch.
‘I’m going to make breakfast.’ Hermione said and she walked to the kitchen.
She was just making tea when two arms wrapped around her waist and a chin was placed on her shoulder.
‘You’re the most amazing woman in the whole wide world.’ Draco said.
Hermione smiled.
‘Thank you.’ she said, giving him a kiss on the cheek, before grabbing cups and placing them on the kitchen counter in front of her.
‘I’ll be right back.’ Draco said.
Hermione nodded and went further with dressing the table for breakfast. She poured the hot water in the cups and placed a tea bag in them. Hermione placed the cups on the table and when she turned around Draco was standing in front of her.
‘Can I help you?’ Hermione asked.
Draco smiled.
‘You probably can.’ he said.
‘Hermione, it has been 16 incredible years with you, to be married with the only person in my whole life that changed me to the person I am now, the only person I will ever love this much, the only person that put my life upside down, the only person I want to spend the rest of my life with and the only person that can give me what I need, you.’ Draco said.
Then Draco kneeled down on one knee and pulled a box out of his pyjama pocket. Hermione widened her eyes.
‘What are you doing?’ she asked.
‘I promise to love you forever and that I’ll always be there for you no matter what.’ Draco said as he opened the box.
A shiny ring was placed in it. It had diamonds around the ring and a bigger one in the middle.
‘So please give me the huge honour and marry me again.’ Draco said.
‘Are you serious?’ Hermione asked.
Draco nodded.
‘Yes of course I want to marry you again!’ Hermione said.
Draco smile and stood up giving her a kiss on the lips after placing the ring around her finger.
‘You woman, just made my day.’ he said.
She smiled and kissed him again.
‘And you made mine.’ she said.
Draco pulled her into a tight hug.
‘Happy 16th anniversary Mione.’
