Chapter 10 - Hell isn't at all like Hell
Lorin
-
My bed is uncomfortably warm as I start to wake up. I wiggle around, hoping to find a cool spot somewhere among the sheets, and give an exasperated sigh when I can't. That's enough motivation to wake me up, seeing as though I don't want to be all sweaty and gross so early in the morning.
I sit up and stretch out my sore muscles, yawning in the process. When I finally opened my eyes and took a look around, I noticed I wasn't even in my room.
"What the fuck?!" I shout, and jump out of the bed. Suddenly, feet start pounding outside the bedroom door, drawing closer and closer with each passing second.
Oh man oh man oh man oh man!
So, what do you do when you fear a deranged serial killer is coming after you?
Do you crawl out the window? Nah.
Lock the door? No way!
Squeal (manly, of course) and hide under the bed? Most definitely.
I wiggle my way under the bed, holding my breath as the door to the room bangs open with tremendous force.
"Who the hell is in here?" A booming voice shouts. Footsteps start to circle the room, the owner obviously looking for the intruder, aka me. "Come now, no need to be shy! I can smell you fear... hear your heartbeat... taste your sweat!" The last part was said as someone grabbed my feet and drug me out from under the bed. I totally, 100% let out a completely manly scream, no joke!
"Dear lord of fucking whatever I did not sign up for this...!" I decide now would be a good time to just end my life a little sooner, so I kick back at the man, run and try to jump out of his arms and through the window. Of course, like that would ever work. He just simply grabs the collar of my shirt and picks me back up, like I weigh nothing.
He sets me in front of him, and stares me down. Honestly, this man is frightening. He has huge, magnificent black wings with white highlights, his eyes are completely black, and under his eyes are two black markings, like stripes. He stands very tall, towering over my smaller frame. Thankfully, for my aura work, I can see a black aura surrounding his head. Though, I don't know what it means, it's still super scary and intimidating. His voice is deep and loud, demanding respect and attention whenever he speaks.
His energy, though, is amazing. Strong, powerful, that of a demon. Instantly, I relax and send a warm smile to him when I realize this. He seems taken aback, to say the least. His cool demeanor cracks and confusion fills his face. As soon as the emotion is shown, it disappears. Back to the 'calm, all powerful demon'.
"Well hey there, man. I'm Lorin. I have no clue where I am, but you're a demon, so I know I'm safe!" I still hold my smile at him, and though his face doesn't show anything, you can see the confusion in his eyes.
"Uh... well, human, I am only nice to those dedicated to our Father, so prepare to perish!"
"But I am dedicated."
"...What?"
"Yeah! For a few weeks now. I'm pretty close with a handful of demons, too. Asmodeus, Dantalion, Enki..."
"Wait, you know Father?"
"Of course I do! He was the one who showed up to me the day after I first tried to summon a demon. Funny story, he's been following me around at home and at school and.."
"Slow down there, boy. So... this is the boy..." He starts to circle me after he sets me down and lets me go, like he's looking me over. "There's not much to you, to be honest."
"Rude!" I try my best Stewie from Family Guy impression, and I don't think the demon found it quite as funny as I did. I huff. "Whatever. What's your name? Where am I?"
"My name," he does a short bow, "is Abigor. You're in Hell, specifically, Father's room."
Huh, so this is Hell? It's less... flame-y and hot then I imagined. And this is Enki's room... It's befitting for him. The bed is big, but simple. The walls are a nice electric blue, framed with black. The carpet is a plush red that encompasses the whole room, except for a small semi circle in front of the stone fireplace. All in all, it's very nice; cozy, even.
"Well, Abigor, can you take me home? Thanks."
He gives me a look like I'm crazy. And, to be honest, I think I might be. I am way too calm for being in Hell, when I could have sworn I was just up in my attic with Roman.
Roman!
I completely forgot about him, and the others! I wonder if they know where I am, or if they're looking for me-! I start to pace around, muttering to myself and pulling my hair.
All I remember is trying to calm Roman down. He was crying on my shoulder, so I hugged him, trying to comfort him. He kissed me... I remember feeling shocked, and then? Nothing. It's like my soul was taken out of my body, making me lose consciousness.
Or... maybe there is more that I'm forgetting... I have a faint sense of pain between my shoulderblades, and a stinging pain in my left forearm. But that could just be from me sleeping weird.
Wait. Back up. "Abigor... that name sounds familiar.. where have I heard it before?!" I start to pace even faster, and instead of pulling my hair I start to chew on my thumb nail.
"Maybe Father or Asmodeus has mentioned my name. I am a commander of 60 legions, and I'm also the one who knows your secrets."
"W-wait. You're the one who knows? Well do ya mind filling me in on some of the details? The others like to leave me in the dark." I pout, just a little bit. He tries hard not to smile. His face actually shows the muscular strain against it! But, alas, his facade doesn't crack.
"All in due time, Lorin." I pout even more. Why can't anyone ever tell me anything?! "Come on, there's someone I want you to meet."
Abigor starts to lead me out of the room, and down a long, narrow hallway. It's decorated much like how Enki's room is, with the same paints on the walls and carpet. I follow behind the demon, through the maze like hallways for what feels like forever. Finally, we step outside through huge double doors, into a clearing. I would say it was just the backyard, but it's too... free looking to be a backyard. It's empty, save for one other man there. Abigor leads us right to him, and seats us on the ground next to him. I slowly sit next to them as I'm looking around the clearing.
It's magnificently beautiful. The grass is thin and soft, just barely reaching my ankles. There are wild flowers everywhere, but the majority of them are wild roses. Wild roses, in my opinion, are much more beautiful than regular roses. They're less conformed. The colours are more natural, and all in all, they're more gentle.
"They're beautiful, aren't they?" A soft voice says. I looked to see who spoke, and it's the man Abigor and I sat next to. He's bald, his robe is bright silver with gold highlights, and his voice is deep, with a slight accent, though I can't place where it's from.
"They are; they're one of my favourites." And they are. I've loved wild roses for forever, though there aren't many around where I live.
"My name is Tarchimache. Please, call me Lucifudge. I am a King, here in Hell."
Hm, another King. It's quite amazing how many different sectors there are down here... well, wherever here is.
"It's very nice to meet you, Lucifudge." He just nods, and goes back to looking at his flowers. I observe all of the blooms around me, taking in the unique beauty of each petal, each stem. I reach out and gently trace the petals of one beautiful pink one, and watch how the petal withers and falls off.
"Why..."
"Don't worry, boy, the flowers aren't used to you, and your human energy." Lucifudge says to me in his quiet voice. I just nod and drop my hand, not wanting to hurt any more flowers. Creations as beautiful as these deserve to be free, unconformed, and untainted.
As much as I love sitting out in the grass, admiring the beautiful scenery, this is awkward. I have nothing to say, apparently neither do the others, so it's dead silent. Usually, I wouldn't mind this; hell, I'd look forward to it, but after spending so much time around others who are very exuberant, I guess I got used to the constant noises around me.
I try to ignore the silence, which turns out to be extremely hard. I mean, it really isn't the smartest idea in the first place, anyway. I mean, ignoring silence? Oh man, I'm more stupid than I originally though.
"Do you know what I do?" Lucifudge asks me, nearly scaring me to death, but at the same time, his voice is so relaxing.
"Uh, no, I don't."
"I'm a guardian to newly dedicated Satanists. I help them in the beginning by answering questions and guiding them the right way."
I nod my head. He seems like the perfect type of guy to do that, to be honest.
"Well, aren't you going to ask any questions?" He says playfully, nudging me with his shoulder, with a little smile on his lips.
"Oh! Well, uh... I guess... Well...."
He just laughs at me. Ah come on, it's not my fault that I couldn't think of a question that fast!
"It's quite alright, boy. There is still time here."
"Actually, there isn't. It's time for him to leave." A faint figure states from behind us.
And then everything goes black.
-
Whirling, writhing, pain filled hours chase away the peace felt in Hells Garden. Looking from the outside, all you would see is a mass of blinding light, with one dark golden light fighting through the masses. Pulled and yanked, the golden light is never left alone for longer than a nanosecond before a new light latches on, tearing and ripping it apart.
Slowly you can see the difference in the light. When it was pulled from the safe grasp of Hell, it still held its bright exuberance. With each passing minute, the colour of the gold gets duller and duller, losing its shine. While the gold fades, the blinding light turns more resilient.
Without notice from the entities around, two new lights come forth, mixing into the fold. A rainbow one, with a light pink streak, and another rainbow one, with a cherry red burst. It's incredibly easy to tell that these two alone can take out a hundred of the white lights. But, they need to be careful this time around. They need to dispose of the blinding lights, while retrieving the golden lights that they have stolen.
They fight valiantly, tearing down masses to reach the fading golden hue. Finally, after going through an endless world of light, they reach the golden light just before it's completely gone. The two rainbows take the fragments that they've fought for, and slowly mend it back into the owner.
Asmodeus and Enki stay latched onto Lorin's neck throughout the entire fight, and until they are able to restore his stolen and devoured soul.
