August Alsina
Ave walked around tha store gettin' everything she needed fa tonight while I talked on tha phone. I kept my voice low enough fa her not to hear me.
"His full name is Brice Oliver Knightington. Birthday is March 17, 1992. Daddy deceased, but his momma ain't. She his pride and joy. You already know his address. No brothers or sisters. Drug dealer. Ain't shit. Look like shit. And apparently loves to beat women."
I listened ta Ro tell me tha information they found on him.
When I told my people I had somebody I had ta handle, Ro was all for it, considering he neva liked Oliver.
Flamboyant ass middle name.
"Aiight bruhh. Find a spot. We gone deal with this nigga soon. 'Preciate it bruhh."
"No problem, Aug."
He said befo' I hung up. Ave turned around ta speak but she closed her mouth when my phone rung again.
"Waddup, Cha?"
"Hey, August. What you doing?"
"Grocery shoppin'."
"With? Cause I know you ain't by yourself."
I laughed a bit.
"A person, Cha. Damn."
"I wanna meet ha when y'all come down here. The girls miss you and they wanna dress up for Halloween. They want you included."
"What they dressin' up as, cause I'a be damned if they think Ima wear a dress wit 'em."
She started laughin on tha otha end.
"Whatever, August. And they're dressing up as 'Grease.'"
"How they kno 'bout that movie?"
"They used ta watch it with Mel."
I nodded my head.
"Oh." I said, memorizing that was one'a his favorite movies.
I saw an employee walk up and start talkin' ta Ave. She sighed at his presence.
"When y'all coming down? You know Halloween almost hea."
"I know. I gotta see if she wanna come, so I'll get back at cha'."
I said while walking up ta Ave and watchin' her converse.
"Alright. Bye Aug."
"Bye Cha. Kiss my nieces fa me." I said befo' hangin' up.
"You should give me your number." He said ta Ave.
"No, thank you." Avery said, keeping her attention on tha sauces.
"Aw, don't make me beg." He said, clearly not knowin' what tha fuck 'no' meant.
She let out a breath and looked at him, annoyed. "My boyfriend wouldn't like that." She smiled.
"Your boyfriend don't let you have fri--"
"Is thea' a problem babyeh?" I walked up behind Avery and wrapped my arm around her waist.
"No, babe. No problem." She said, catchin' on ta what I was doin'.
"Dis nigga hea' botherin' you?" I asked, lookin' at him.
"I'm fine babe." She said to me, biting her lip to keep from laughin.
"This is my boyfriend I was telling you about." She told him.
"Oh. My fault. I didn't--"
"Bae? You got everythang you need? Cause I plan on makin' some more kids tonight." I said, smirking a lil.

"Cause I plan on makin' some more kids tonight."
The thought of my deceased child entered my mind. My smile started to fade a bit as I put the thought to the back of my mind and continued to play along.
I kept looking at the guy's who's nametag said "Tommy."
"I got everything, babe." I said with a smile, getting back in character.
"Can you tell us whea' tha condoms at?" August asked him.
Tommy was quite for a moment before speaking again.
"Aisle 15." He said, looking a bit defeated.
"You gone sit on daddy dick ta'night?" August asked wrapping his arm around my chest and speaking loudly enough for Tommy to hear.
I licked my lips to hold my laughter in, still looking at the employee.
Tommy pursed his lips together and looked at us before turning and leaving.
After he was around the corner completely, I playfully hit Aug's arm.
"Why must you be so playful?" I asked, laughing with tears in my eyes.
"He looked like he was gettin' on ya nerves." He said.
People from the other aisles looked at us as we laughed.
"He was. I was silently praying for you to come after he asked me for my number the third time."
"Highlight of my day." I said, getting the last of my laughs out and wiping my eyes.
We shopped a little while longer before leaving.
"Can we stop by Jerrion's house? There's something I need to get."
"Yea, what is it?" He asked, making turns as I told him the directions.
"You'll see."
--
"Be right back." I said, grabbing my purse as we arrived at Jerrion's condo.
"Hurry up. A nigga hungry." He said still sitting in the car.
"Hush up. It won't take long." I yelled to him as Jerrion let me inside.
"He's gonna sit in the car?" Jer asked me, handing me my keys.
"Yup. He's ready for me to cook. Open your garage." I said, walking back outside.

I got out the car and leaned against it as I saw Avery come out tha house and stand outside of what looked like tha garage.
"One second!" She yelled ta me, smiling hard as hell.
I checked tha time, "9:56." My stomach growled. She know I can't miss too many more meals.
Tha garage opened halfway. She walked underneath, then it closed again.
"Fuck this. I'm finna find some food." I said gettin in tha car until I heard an engine and saw tha garage door raise.
She let the wind blow through her hair as she pulled up next to me.
"Fuck you driving all slow fa like you in a movie a' some'n?" I asked her.
She shook her head. "You just ruined my entrance, August."
"Anyway." She said.
"You like it?" She asked me, smiling.
"Yea. I do." I said ta her, even tho my Rover was still better.
"It's nice. Where'd you get it?"
"My dad used to work with cars a lot and had his own company. Before he passed, a friend of his promised him I would always have a vehicle. Of course, I kept that information from Brice." She smiled again befo' talkin fast.
"Jer took care of Midnight for me. That's what I named her. Midnight. Or should it be Nighttime? I wonder which one my father would like more."
I looked at ha as she rambled happily.
"I'm sorry for rambling August. I know you're hungry. It's just that my dad made sure I had this car. It's making me feel closer to him somehow."
I smiled at her as she had her moment.
"You wanna trail me to tha house?"
"Duhh." She said. "Let's race."
"Nope. No. Negative. Not happening." I told her, not sure of how she drives.
"But come on cause a nigga hungry."
"Let's go, Aug." She said, gettin into her car and letting the engine roar again.

Avery Jordan
"That was good. Ya actually can cook." He said to me.
"Mom taught me." I said, reminiscing about my mom's and I long days and burned food in the kitchen.
"She taught ya well." He said before looking at me and not turning away.
I shifted in my seat, feeling a little uneasy.
"Why are you staring?" I asked, turning my head in another direction.
He placed my chin between his pointer finger and thumb before turning my head back to him.
"Let me admire you." He said, sending butterflies through my stomach.
I granted his wish, looking down every now and then.
He continued looking and walked over to me.
Our faces now centimeters apart.
"You're beautiful." He said.
He leaned in closer..
My breath caught in my throat.
"Sleep with me ta'night." He said to me, almost at a whisper.
"August, I--"
"Not like that. I heard ya screaming tha otha night. Like you was havin' a' nightmare or some'n." He said to me.
I got lost in my thoughts, remembering the terrible dream I had a couple of nights ago.
"I did." I said to him, sighing.
"It was about Brice, my lost child, my parents, my fucked up life, and it's all my fault." I said, biting my lip and beginning to feel my eyes start to water.
"If my parents wouldn't have died, I wouldn't be going through any of this" Tears now running down my face.
"It's my fault! They were in that car because of ME! They were coming to get ME from school! I should've died, no--"
"Avery, stop." August spoke sternly while holding my face in his hands.
"God has his own way of--"
"God? Yew really want tew talk tew mee about God?" I laughed, wiping the tears from my face.
"Wat has he done for mee 'cept allow mee to get iin an abusive relatshunship, loose my parents, have famiily members who don't even know mee, hate mee, and give mee a fukked up life?" I said getting angry.
I smiled at him, letting tears fall again.
August's face turned red as he tried to keep his patience with me.
"That ain't true." He said with his teeth clenched together.
"I'm sure God gave you signs, Avery."
"God doesn't giiive a fukk about me, August. So yew can tell thaat shit tew someone els--"
"I'm sayin' this shit to you!" He spoke, loud and angrily.
"Why tha fuck you think God kept you hea'?! Obviously he got a purpose for you! You've been in an abusive relationship, lost a child, which you didn't tell me about, and lost ya parents!"
He screamed, getting closer to my face.
"Yea, that shit's fucked up, but thea's people out hea' goin through much fuckin' worse! People out 'chea homeless and sleepin' in fuckin' corner stores with no fuckin' family! People out chea' can't even fuckin' talk, yet you using ya' words ta say a bunch a' negative shit 'bout someone you'on even know! People out hea' sleepin' wit niggas and doing all types a' illegal shit just ta provide fa they family! You sayin' you shoulda died. Just cause you can't see ya blessings, don't mean ya ain't a blessing ta someone else! God knows what he's doin' up thea'! So tha next time you try ta speak 'bout Him not givin' a fuck, get ya fuckin' facts straight first!"
He spoke, going upstairs to his room and slamming the door shut.
I stood there for a minute, feeling dumbfounded before grabbing my keys and leaving. I don't know where I was going, but I needed to get away from here..
