I really need to write this right now, so please don't hate me.

Romano never thought he'd fall in love with a human, considering all the pain countries go through when they do, and he definatly never thought he'd be crying over said humans coffin.
The Italian has always had trouble with trusting the people around him, and he's never had a happy relationship with anybody, but somehow this girl had managed to grow on him. He still remembers how he met her... it might as well have been the day before.

The sounds of high pitched sobbing attracts the countries attention. He so badly wants to ignore it, to just continue his way home and forget about the small whimpers floating out from the nearby alleyway... but curiosity got the better of him.
A low sigh, almost a growl, escaping his throat, he strides quickly to the darkened space, caramel eyes narrowed in annoyance.
It's probably just some stray cat... because cats totally sound like they're crying away years of pain.
Eyes adjusting to the darkness, his mouth drops open slightly.
A young girl, no older than seven, is laying curled against the brick wall, a small pool of blood near an outstretched leg. Giving her a closer look, Romano can see all the small cuts and bruises scattered across he almost bare body, and the unnatural twist in her ankle.
The girl, finally noticing the figure watching her, jolts quickly, scrambling to stand up as her blurry (e/c) eyes light up with fear. As pressure is applied to the obviously broken ankle, she let's a small gasp of pain escape her, but besides that she shows no sign of pain.
Her small, dirty face twists into a scowl, a snarl directed towards the still very confused country.
"Leave me alone!"
Nodding, he starts to walk away, a pang of annoyance shooting through him.
If she wants to act that way then she can just die right there in her own filth!
He only gets a few steps away before he turns back quickly, eyes connecting with the young girl's.
They have a short stare off, before Romano sighs and walks back to the girl slowly.
"What's your name?"
The young girl stares at him for a while longer, trying to decide for herself if he was dangerous, before lowering her head, hair covering her eyes.
"(Y/n)..."
He nods, outstretching his arm to her.
"Well then, let's go. That leg needs medical attention, and you need to shower."

She'd been the strongest person he'd ever met... even stronger, and sometimes even scarier than Russia... but she was human.
France had told him time and time again that he should just help her, then find her an orphanage, but he didn't listen.... well, he was hiding from him, but he still got the message.
He should have listened... he could have spared himself all of this pain, looking down at woman he loved, cold and broken in a coffin, never going to open her eyes again.
Tears start pooling in his eyes as he wrings his hands together, bowing his head.
Most of the nation's came... everyone had loved (y/n) immediately. There was just something about her.

Sighing, Romano holds (y/n)'s hand as they stop outside the doors to the world meeting. They wanted him to go for some reason.
(Y/n) notices that he seems to be nervous, scared even, and wraps her arms around his waist, smiling brightly up at him.
"It's okay Lovi! You'll be awesome!"
A small grin on his face, he nods and pushes the doors open, allowing (y/n) to walk in first.
He hadn't wanted to bring her... but she's 6! She can't stay home alone.
"Vee~ Fratello! And... a little bella?"
Confusion crosses the younger countries face as he stops in his tracks. He'd been running to hug Romano... but that had stopped immediately once he saw the little girl standing in front of Roma... with a slight protective stance.
"Romano, bro! Why do you have a little chick with ya?"
Romano glares at the loud american, and his confused brother.
"I adopted her... don't fucking touch her."
Giggling, you jump up and down.
"QUARTER IN THE SWEAR JAR LOVI!"
Sighing, he nods and digs through his pockets, handing you a coin.
"Is she a country bro?"
Shaking his head, Roma grabs the girl by the shoulders and pulls her close to him, holding her protectively.
"No. But you're not taking her from me!"
"Lemme go Lovi..."
Squirming, you duck out of his grasp and move quickly past the two men blocking your path.
"Damnit, (y/n), get your ass back here!"
You laugh as you climb into a seat and onto the table, sticking your tongue out at Romano.
That's when you notice there were more than just the loud blond dude and the guy who looked a bit like Lovi.
And they're all watching you.
A wide grin on your face, you bow dramatically.
"Hiya!"
Grabbing you off the table, Romano holds you tightly, face burning bright red.
"Sorry Romano."
Smiling sweetly at him, you immediately see his resolve crumble as he sighs, patting your head.

The tears start pouring down his face as he walks up to the coffin for the last time.
His cold hands grip the smooth wood as he trys his hardest to stay upright.
All of this... it's his fault. He hadn't wanted this for you, he wanted you to be happy... but he was weak.
The stupid frog had told him... but he didn't listen.
A gentle hand grips his shoulder, the stupid frog, but for once he doesn't hide.
He stays where he is.
He's not gonna hide, not when it's his last chance to be with you.
"You told me you bastard... I didn't fucking listen though!"
He doesn't regret keeping you with him, protecting you, falling in love with you, nor will he ever.
You were everything to him...
Slapping France's hand off him, he falls to his knees, hands gripping the ground.
'I love you... I always will...'

Smiling, you grab Roma's hand up pull him off the couch.
"C'mon Lovi! Come for a walk with me!"
Romano shakes his arm out of her grip, before hugging her.
"I don't wanna, can we stay here."
Pouting, you shove him away eyes narrowed at him. You cross your arms in annoyance.
"No! Let's goooooo!"
Rolling his eyes, Lovi sighs as a form of agreeing with you.
Smiling again, you link you arm with his and lean into his side.
He's just glad he gets to spend time with you... even if there's a weird feeling about doing this.
You notice how uncomfortable he seems, stopping in your tracks.
"Lovi... are you okay?"
Nodding, he can't help the scowl on his face.
"Okay Lovi..."
You lean up and kiss his cheek gently before continuing the walk, clinging to him even more. The bad feeling is starting to his you too, making you just as uncomfortable as Lovi.
"I hope you know I love you Romano."
Even with the sense of dread creeping up behind you, you continue on.
No use in trying to run... if it's fate, it's fate.
Lovi kisses your cheek, arms wrapped around you.
It's when you're crossing the road that the sense of dread finally shows its origin. A large truck.
Darkness.
Cursing, Lovino gets up from the ground, looking for you. You'd shoved him out of the way.
His eyes land on you, breathe hitching. Your limp body is a few meters away, bloody and broken.
"(Y/n)!" He runs quickly to your side, almost hyperventilating. Tears stream down his face as he gently strokes your blood filled hair.
You're already gone.

"I'm sorry (y/n)... this was too soon."
