"Watch where you are going, freak!"
That lovely statement is what greeted me after I rounded a corner while on my way to the front of the school and found myself on the floor. There was a rather painful throbbing in my behind as I winced and looked up to an angry looking Jenna.
Absolutely fabulous.
"Sorry, I didn't mean t--" I started, only to be quite rudely cut off by a shrill voice.
"Sorry!? You little retard! You couldn't made me fall and break something! I could've broken my neck! And all you can say is sorry!?" She exclaimed, her blue eyes narrowing angrily as she screamed at me, drawing the attention of passerby students.
That was something that always made it really easy to tell Julia and Jenna apart. Not only the obvious difference in personality, style, and haircut, but while Jenna had electric blue eyes, Julia had the most lively green eyes I've ever seen.
She's so tense. Maybe I should set up a therapeutic massage appointment for her...
"...are you even listening you dumb freak!?" Jenna's screechy voice snapped, jolting me from my thoughts of my life when my parents were alive.
"Dude, you've called me 'freak' twice now. Can you my come up with anything of a higher intellectual meaning? Or is 'freak' the biggest insult you know?" I snap agitatedly, tired of hearing her annoying voice.
I just want to go home with Jordan and watch anime. Why can't the universe just leave me alone and let me fangirl over Natsu Dragneel in peace?
"Excuse me!? Who do you think you are to talk to me in such a way!?" She screamed, only causing her little 'posse' to all glare down at me hatefully.
How this girl had friends, the world may never know.
"Oh, gee, I don't know, maybe your step-sister." I retort sardonically, rolling my eyes at her overdramatized existence.
Having the well-known knowledge that Jenna would rather get hit by a car than help me up, I slowly got up, wincing and rubbing my tailbone as I straightened up.
How do I keep ending up on the floor? I swear, I'm going to catch a disease at this rate.
"You are no sister of mine!" She snapped, harshly poking my chest with a manicured finger and breathing rather heavily.
Whoa, dude, take a chill pill. No need to be a drama queen.
"No crap, Sherlock! Key emphasis on the word 'step'!" I snarl back, glowering at her as she looks down to me.
Pfft. Please, this girl is almost the same height as I am. The only difference is her heels are almost four inches tall.
"Don't take that tone with me!" She retorts, placing her hands at her hips as she glares at me with icy cold eyes.
Who the fudge does she think she is, my mother?
"Okay, Mom, I'll do that..." I say sarcastically, rolling my eyes and flicking my hair over my shoulder. "As soon as hell freezes over."
She let out an angry screech--which probably caused some really bad internal damage to my poor ears--before attempting to scratch at my face.
Whoa, down little kitty! Don't want to hurt yourself ya nincompoop.
I easily took a step back, managing to dodge her sloppy attack and cause her to slightly lose her balance on those gargantuan heels.
And that is my cue to leave.
Letting out a deep sigh, my feet moved on their own accord as I began to walk away.
"Just where do you think you are going!?" Jenna demanded of me, causing me to turn and look at her frustrated form.
It's a pity, you could be so beautiful, yet all you have done is allow yourself to become ugly. I thought to myself, watching her with slight pity as her shirt slightly slid off her shoulder.
"I'm going over to Jordan's to watch anime and have dinner. I don't need to waste my time taking part in unnecessary fights that will cause more harm than good." I respond calmly and in a rather bored tone before turning and walking down the hallway and leaving Jenna to let out a scream of frustration.
I truly pity you.
The smell of popcorn, candy, and pizza was all around us as we sat and cheered on the people whom we already knew would win.
Why would we know they win, you might ask?
Well, this is only the third time Jordy and I have binged on Fairytail season one and junk food. This anime had always been a favorite for us, and all we want is for Netflix to release the second season!
Yes, we are aware that it is available in Japanese, but once you watch the whole first season in English, it is really hard to transfer languages.
So here we are, rewatching all the episodes and waiting for the second season to be released like the anime nerds we really are.
"If you could be a wizard in Fairytail, who or what would you be?" Jordan asks me, munching on some popcorn as I grab another slice of pizza.
One more slice never hurt anyone.
"Hmm... Definitely a fire dragon slayer." I say confidently, not having to put much thought into it as I was already aware that Natsu was indeed my favorite character of all time.
"Hmm. I don't know, I think I would like to be Erza, or Juvia. Oh! Maybe Mystogen!" He rambled out, only causing me to laugh in return.
He looked at me with a confused face, tilting his head to the side and resembling that of an overly-sized puppy. "What's so funny?"
I grinned at him as I pet his head. "You do realize two of those characters were indeed female?"
He shrugged and bit into a slice of pizza he grabbed while I was laughing. "Well," he says with a full mouth, chuckling when I swat him on the back of his head, "they both are awesome. If I were that powerful and hot, I wouldn't mind being a chick."
I snorted as he took another bite, and I used this as my chance to get him to talk. "If I didn't know you were in love with Julia, I would assume you were so gay."
At first, Jordan just nodded along, obviously not really paying attention to what I was saying. Then, as if my words had just hit him, his eyes widened and he made a sound of protest before coughing and choking on his food like a dying man.
And being the amazing friend that I am, I just laughed like a crazy villain on laughing gas.
After a few minutes of me laughing my behind off and Jordy wheezing like an old man smoking, we both fall into a comfortable silence, our breaths heavy.
"Am I that obvious?" He finally asks me, sending a nervous glance my way.
I sigh and wrap my arm around his shoulder, rubbing it lightly.
"Yes, totally."
I snorted as Jordan let out a loud groan, grabbing a throw pillow and burying his face into it. "Why!?" I hear him shout into it, which only causes me to laugh more.
"Chill out, Jordy. Julia is as dense as you are and hasn't noticed." I tell him with a grin, patting his back as he still held his face in the pillow.
"Buh at eh oblem." He tries to say through the fabric, at which I only raise an eyebrow to.
"You're going to have to be more clear, Jordy." I say playfully, which is returned by a playful glare from my best friend.
"I..." He sighs. "I said that that's the problem."
"How so?"
"Well, she doesn't notice me. I try everything to get her attention, and the only time I get it is when I annoy the crap out of her. I feel like she wouldn't even bother with me if I didn't get on her nerves. How messed up is that! I'm in love with a person who doesn't even--"
"OH MY GOD, WHAT!?" I exclaim with wide eyes, looking at my best friend shocked as his words play over in my head.
I'm in love...
I'm in love...
I'm in love...
"HOLY MOTHERFLIPPING LORD OF ALL RAINBOW UNICORNS, YOU'RE IN LOVE WITH JULIA!" I continued, staring at Jordy as his cheeks turned a bright pinkish color.
Oh my gosh... He's blushing...
MY BEST FRIEND, JORDAN RAYLEY IS BLUSHING!
"How long have you known this!?" I ask, still trying to wrap my head around the fact that my dorky, marshmallowy friend just admitted to being in love with my sister.
My ship is almost sailing!
"Ah... Well..."
I gripped the collar of his shirt, pulling him close to my face and glowering at him, which caused him to gulp rather loudly as fear was obvious on his features. "Boy, you better tell me when and where now."
His eyes widened drastically before he nervously nodded his head. I raised my eyebrow at him as if to say 'well?' and he quickly complied to my wishes. "Well, I've sort of loved her ever since I first laid eyes on her back in eighth grade."
Oh. My. Precious baby Jesus Lord of unicorns.
I stared at him with narrowed eyes.
He stared at me with a fear stricken face.
Silence.
"OH MY GOD THAT IS SO FREAKING CUTE!" I finally screamed, giggling like a possessed school girl. Jordan looked at me like I was a madman as I stood up and began jumping around the room. "It's about darn time!"
He laughed and shook his head at my insane antics as I grinned at him happily.
After a while, I settled down and say next to him on the couch, giving him a large hug. "I'm happy for you, Jordy."
He hugged me with his large arms and sighed. "I just wish she would notice me. She so beautiful and kind and gentle and funny. I feel like she doesn't pay attention to me or like me because I'm not enough. I know I'm not the ideal guy, but why can't she see how much I love her?"
I pulled back from him and gave him a knowing smirk.
"Trust me, she notices you more than you think."
WHAT AGAIN.
Ya love me right?
See y'all soon in other books! ^.~
