Daddy stands, feet shoulders width apart, arms crossed over his chest, lips in a straight line as he glares at the nervous man standing in front of him. There's a twitch of daddy's right corner of his lips, letting the people that know him, that he's just acting. Daddy's never one to be serious until needed to be.
"So Conner." Daddy draws out his name. "Word is that my baby boy likes you."
Conner eyes switch to mine, a blush reddens my cheeks from the intensity of his eyes.
"The feeling is mutual." Conner grins handsomely.
"Then it's a good thing that I'm staying for a while, because if you hurt my boy in any way. I don't care if you're a witch, I'll castrate you and shove it up your ass." Daddy smirks evilly.
My brothers giggle, yes giggled, at Conner's scared face. Sometimes their inner girl comes out. They can play manly all they want, but I see their girly moments all the time.
"Zon! Don't threaten the boy! He seems to really like Zry. Sadly he's a grown man with a baby on the way! We can't keep treating him like a baby, and that goes with not threatening a guy he likes!" Mommy stands, with her hands on her hips.
"Oh here we go again!" Daddy groans.
Confusion lines my face, along with my brothers'. Have they argued about this before? I don't want them arguing because of me.
"You can't keep treating him like a baby!" Mommy glares, her hands never leaving her hips.
Daddy glares back. "Sinai! Do you not know that Zry just had his heart broken by his mate? If letting him cry in my arms like a father should is treating him like a baby, then I'll gladly treat him like so!"
Mommy takes a step towards daddy. "What about before he was crying, letting him hang on you like a koala?"
He throws his hands up. "So what? He needs the comfort! We're his family! Do you expect us to let him fall through our fingers in depression? I won't lose my youngest son, Sinai!"
"He's a grown man! He needs to learn how to deal with this on his own!" Mommy pokes daddy's chest.
Daddy takes her finger, and pushes it away from him. "You're wrong Sinai! If we don't help him, he'll drown in depression! Be a mother to him for once! Stop saying we need to stop treating him like a baby, we aren't!"
Mommy chuckles. "Our older sons fight over his attention, you let him hang on you, am I the only one to see that he needs to grow up!"
"He's the youngest! We should be happy that his big brothers aren't picking on him, but loving him! As for hanging onto me, I'm his father, we're very close! I've almost lost him once! I'm sorry that I fear losing him again, so I'm taking advantage of having him!" Daddy growls out, before spinning on his heels and storming out of the livingroom.
His stomps rings throughout the house, until there's a slamming of a door.
Mommy looks like she weren't just arguing with her mate. "Sinai, you can't honestly think that they will stop treating Zry like they do. They don't treat him like a baby, they treat him like he's the most precious person to them."
Mommy just snorts at Auntie's words. "Stop trying to get them to treat him like you do. They love him, plus you know how Alphas are with their pups, especially to the ones they almost lost. Zon took it hard, Zry is a miracle baby for living. You know Zon wouldn't be the way he is without his fear of losing Zry."
Mommy turns her glare to auntie. "Don't tell me what to do Renee, they are my family!"
"Then respect them! Zry is Zon's baby, the boys' best friend." Auntie glares back. "You ruin Conner's visit, because you're jealous of their bond. If you would stop being jealous of your own family, then your life would be much happier."
Standing up, having enough of people arguing, I walk pass my mother, not looking at her. Treading up the stairs, I knock on the door daddy is hiding behind.
Opening the door, I walk in to see daddy laying on the bed, looking up at the ceiling with no emotions in his eyes.
Climbing into the bed, I crawl to daddy, and snuggle into his side. "Daddy?"
"Yes baby boy?" Daddy's arm snakes around my waist and pulls me tighter to him.
"I don't want it to change. I don't care what mom said." I press my face into his chest.
"You're never to old to be my baby boy. I've almost lost you once, I'm cherishing every moment with you, is that so wrong?" Daddy finish in a small voice.
"No daddy, mom's just..." I pause. "Jealous because she doesn't have the same bond with me. She just expects me throw all that away because I'm not a child anymore."
Daddy doesn't answer, laying in silence with just our thoughts. I won't abandon my bond with my father and brothers. I need them more than ever right now, my mother just has to understand that.
I know things will be awkward between my mother and I, but I'll live with it. I'm just happy my father and brothers aren't going to change.
That would kill me, but they said they wouldn't change, so I have nothing to worry about.
