Emeralds POV (Two days after coronation)
I was still in the second stage of adstringo, but let me just say, things have gotten much worse.
I haven't been mind linking people anymore now that I was in their pack, but every now and then things would get messed up. Like one time, I had simply gotten up from bed and went to walk to the bathroom, but my wolf speed kicked in and I ended up running strait into the door, hitting my head hard. After Damon had thoroughly checked my head to see if I was alright he couldn't stop laughing, which brought a small smile to my face, but I should be taking this thing much more seriously. I mean, my wolf was losing control slowly because I remained unmated to Damon, but it was hard not to laugh at that.
But just this morning my wolf had acted up again, as I was opening the door to Damon's office, my wolf decided to go full strength and it ended up breaking the doorknob off from it breaking in the middle, despite the lock. Damon instantly had a new door brought in and installed, which brings up the question of why he just had new doors lying around somewhere.
I assumed that some of the wolves have a temper and therefore result in many doors being slammed to the point of breaking them.
Now, it was ten minutes before Damon, Oliver, Valery, and myself go to this human town nearby to watch their firework show. I was almost ready, just picking out the shoes that would go best. I finally decided on a pair of white flats and went to go check myself in the full-length mirror in my closet. I smiled at my perfectly matched outfit; a red button down sleeved top, a pair of blue jean shorts (I am seriously in love with Jean shorts. Maybe I'll go brag to Damon that he has competition now like I supposedly have competition with that position Damon has professed his love for many times...), and the white flats.
All in all, red white and blue. I was set for the night. I fixed my hair which I currently had in a loose ponytail and made sure I still had both star earrings in before I went downstairs. I knew Valery was still getting ready because Oliver was outside her door, groaning and moaning about her hurrying her 'cute little ass up, she'd be perfect to him anyway she dressed'.
I smiled at that. I liked Oliver, and I thought Valery and Oliver were perfect for each other without having to be mates. I got down to the last step and made my way to where I heard Damon's voice, which was in the kitchen. He was leaning over the countertop talking to Lyles.
He noticed me walk in the room and turned around, smiling.
"Hey door abuser." He greeted with a smirk.
I glared at him playfully. "I can't believe you didn't put the door in its place for hitting me like it did." I joked.
"You're the one who charged at it while I was trying to go back to sleep, there was no way I was going to put it in its place after you disturbed me like that." I rolled my eyes and stood next to him by the counter.
"Oh, I'm sure the whole pack heard his laughter after you hit the door." Lyles commented with a smile.
I gave Damon another dirty look which brought an even wider smile on his face. "What else was I supposed to do? She was fine and you should've seen her groaning on the ground while the door had a dent in it. She flew full speed at it!" He laughed again.
"You could've been a mature, thoughtful man by not laughing." I grumbled lowly.
"You would've laughed too if I ran at the door and hit my head like you did." Damon replied.
I rolled my eyes, realizing he was right. I probably would've died of laughter if I saw Damon charge at the door like I did.
I heard the giggling coming from the stairs and I turned to see Valery with Oliver walking towards us, hand in hand talking about something.
"You finally ready?" I asked Valery with a small smile.
"Don't act like you weren't ready only five minutes before me, not an hour." She said rolling her eyes.
"We're ready to go." Oliver clarified for her, and silently we all managed to make our way to outside where we walked for about five minutes, just joking around about somethings and Damon wrapped his arm around my waist for the whole walk through the forest.
"So," Valery started hesitantly, looking up at Oliver. "Did you guys ever find out about that whole white light thing at the coronation?" She asked.
I looked up at Damon, silently asking him if he did. He gave me a small shrug. "Not yet," He answered.
Valery nodded and the garage came into view, the large building with about ten garage doors still ceased to impress me, knowing all it held were cars and vehicles alike.
Damon opened the door for all of us and Oliver stopped by the key rack and Damon followed him.
"Take whichever one you like but you break any of my babies you're paying." He joked, although there was something in his eyes that made me know if there was a single scratch on any of these Oliver was sure going to pay.
Valery ran over to a hot fuchsia convertible that I couldn't quite name the brand and hopped in the passenger seat. "We're taking the car dad got me for my sweet sixteen." She called from across the garage, her voice echoing everywhere.
Oliver sighed and rolled his eyes, looking at the key rack. Damon handed him one of the keys and Oliver walked over and clicked one of the buttons, making the car headlights flash as a 'beep' echoed around the room.
"Which one?" Damon asked.
I closed my eyes and randomly reached out to one of the hooks and when my hands grasped around one I opened my eyes.
"This one." I answered handing him the keys.
He smiled and walked down the line of cars, stopping at a silver convertible car that looked extremely fancy and expensive. "What type of car is this?" I asked Damon with a slight raised eyebrow.
"Alfa Romeo," He answered before walking over to the passengers side and opening the door after me. I smiled at him and got in, and he closed the door.
"Did you really get a car called 'Alfa'?" I questioned humorously.
He flashed me a grin. "If there was a car called 'Luna' would you get it?" He asked smirking.
"No because I don't need to drive a car with the same name." I replied.
"That's because you don't appreciate cars enough." Damon said.
He got in the car and put the key in the engine and the car started up. He put on a pair of expensive looking sunglasses that really suited him well. We drove out of the garage with Valery and Oliver following behind us as we made our way down the long road.
We drove for about thirty minutes, just talking and laughing until we reached a gas station in the middle of a wooded road where Damon got some gas. Once the car was all filled up Damon leaned on my side of the door and tilted his shades down.
"Let's go inside. You can't stay out here by yourself." He said, moving back and opening the door.
I groaned. "You really have to keep me stuck to you like glue, huh?" I asked as I got out of the car. Damon raised an eyebrow at me as he held the door to the small store open. I walked to the back where I knew the beer was and looked in the fridge until I found what I was looking for.
"Really? Beer?" Damon asked humorously from behind me.
"What? Do you honestly expect these people to have the WB?" I asked, making up a code name for wolfsbane on the spot in case they had cameras.
"You would be freaking out if the fireworks went off and you were legitimately drunk. You would've had the worst hangover." Damon said.
"It's not about the hangover, it's about the getting drunk part." I told him grabbing three cases of Budweiser.
I handed one to Damon and walked over to the register. An old man with dark hair and wrinkle lines all over his face looked up at us, his expression bored.
I set two of the cases down on the counter as Damon set the last one down and the cash register man didn't move.
The man stared at us for a few minutes and I glanced between Damon and the man a few times. Damon seemed just as weirded out as I was and he brought a hand around my waist protectively, pulling me to him.
"I think you might want to ring that up now." Damon said to the man coldly. I didn't blame him, this guy was creeping us both out.
Then the man flashed me a nasty smile, his teeth yellow and chipped.
"Anything for the Luna of the Lancaster pack." He said coldly, smiling at us both as he grabbed one of the bottles of beer and raised it. Just as he was about to throw it at me Damon pulled me around one of the aisles and ran down it. I heard the sound of doors opening and a few more pairs of feet.
"Come out come out wherever you are?" The creepy old man teased. Fear filled my entire body and Damon tensed up.
"When they round the corner, run out of here and start the car." Damon whispered in my ear, so quietly I almost didn't hear it despite being a werewolf.
"What about you?" I whispered back, looking up at him.
"I'll follow you. Here's the keys." He said as he handed me the keys. The footsteps got closer and we both instinctively backed away from the corner. Finally, a dark skinned man popped around the corner holding a few silver knives. I looked at Damon who had already started beating up the man. I couldn't leave him here with the crazy people, I wasn't going to run to the car.
"Emerald go to the car!" Damon yelled at me, landing a last punch on the guy knocking him out.
"I'm not going to leave you here with crazy bastards who have knives genius!" I yelled back at him.
Just then, two guys came around each side of the corner we were in, and Damon started fighting the two that came at him while I was left with my two. One of them was the creepy guy behind the counter who had an aluminum baseball bat in his hand and there was another new guy. He was olive skinned and he had an evil glint in his eyes that scared me.
I looked around me and the only things I could find were a bag of Doritos and a can of Pringles.
I quickly grabbed the bag of Doritos and hit the older guy around the head with it, and then just as the other one was about to make a move I kicked him in the shin. They both quickly recovered and now they looked angrier.
The older one with the baseball bat took a swing at me, which I ducked down to avoid but then the other guy knocked me flat on the ground by kicking my ankles down. The two took another step closer, about to reach down and grab me, but I grabbed the bat and hit the olive skinned guy on the shoulder, making him fall down in pain. I swung at the older guy, but he seemed to have faster reflexes as he took a step back.
I turned to check on Damon and when I turned back the olive skinned guy had stood up and was about to reach for my neck. I swung the bat again, this time hitting his wrist. He hissed in pain and grabbed his wrist with his other hand, cradling it.
"Wally I don't care what the boss says, let's just kill her!" He yelled furiously. I gulped and took another swing at him, but he saw it coming and backed up again.
"David you know if we kill her we get killed! The boss made that clear-"
"Who's your boss?" I growled, taking a step closer and swinging at them. I hit the older guy in the side but he remained unfazed as he took a step closer and attempted to punch me but I hit his hand again. These guys must really be stupid for thinking they can hit me when I have a bat.
"Do you really think we'll tell you?" The olive skinned guy, whose name I think was David said, clearly pissed off.
I hit his legs with the bat and then hit him in the side, full on beating him up.
"I could beat it out of you?" I taunted, adrenaline pumping through my veins. Wally, the older guy took a Gatorade out of one of the fridges, throwing it at me while it was still capped. I backed up a step and bumped into Damon, who turned around to check on me when one of the guys punching him took a swing, hitting Damon in the jaw. I turned around and hit the guy that punched Damon in the jaw, hitting him with the bat on the side of the head. He fell down unconscious instantly and then it was just me and Damon against Wally and David.
Damon started fighting with David while I was left to take on Wally. I swung the bat at him but he ducked down, taking a punch at my gut. He hit me and I instinctively bent over from the force, and Wally took the opportunity to steal the bat out of my hands.
He held it up, looking ready to swing at me and I backed up. He kept walking towards me until I was cornered and just as he was about to swing I opened up one of the fridge doors, the door hitting him strait in the forehead hard. He stumbled back and I took the bat away, hitting him on the head again. He fell to the ground with a loud 'thump' and Damon landed another punch on David, knocking him out as well.
I was breathing heavily, the adrenaline leaving my body. Damon walked over and placed his hands on both my cheeks to inspect my face.
"Are you alright?" He asked worriedly.
"I'm fine. You're the only one that is hurt, he landed a good punch on your jaw." I said, placing my hand on his.
"I told you to go to the car." He said, clenching his jaw.
"And I told you I'm not leaving you here with guys with knives." I reminded.
Damon sighed and took his hands off me, backing up a few seconds. "Oliver and Valery are probably wondering where we are, I'm sure they're already there by now."
I nodded and started walking out, not before getting all the beer we left at the cash register. Damon raised an eyebrow at me and then shook his head.
"All that and you still want the beer?" He asked.
I walked out the doors of the store and put the beer in the back of the car. "Now everything's free, so of course I'm taking the beer."
Damon walked over to his side of the car and got in, starting the car. I got in my side and Damon quickly sped away from the place, getting out his phone and putting it next to his ear.
"Jax bring a crew of warriors to the gas station on Melrose. Try to get the men to tell you who their boss is, then kill them all." He ordered. I gaped at him. When Damon had ended the call I slapped his shoulder.
"You can't just go around killing people!" I said angrily.
Damon glanced at me with a very serious expression on his face. "They attempted to hurt you and myself. That's an act of war, and I show no mercy to shit like that. The only reason I didn't kill them all myself is because I don't want you to see me kill anymore people." Damon said firmly.
I sighed, knowing how Damon was when it came to my protection.
"I'm sorry I made you get punched in the jaw." I said after a few more minutes of driving.
Damon looked over at me with a raised eyebrow. "What do you mean?" He asked inquisitively.
"If I hadn't backed up into you you wouldn't have looked and then got punched. I'm sorry about that." I answered honestly.
Damon intertwined our fingers and gently ran his lips along my knuckles. "I've had plenty of hits to the jaw before, I'm just glad you didn't get hurt." He smiled. "How did you manage to get the bat away from the men?" Damon asked.
I smiled back at him. "I hit him in the face with a bag of Doritos." I answered with a laugh.
Damon laughed as well. "I'll make sure to keep you away from chips when you're mad." He said, amused.
