How wrong could I have been to think like that?

“How the fuck would you still meet him again?!” Cherry shook her head like she couldn't understand why I'd even think of meeting Cole for the third time.

It was ten a.m. on Wednesday, which wasn't even up to twenty four hours since I told Cole to not message me again, but now there was a huge problem.

A ball of sweat took form on my forehead as I wrinkled it in thoughts of what I'd placed myself into.

“We warned you to not go meet him from the get-go,” Cherry continued, not seeming to care how anxious I was at the moment, “but noooo, you just had to have lunch with your ex.”

“This isn't the time to place blame on anyone, rather we should look for the solution,” Caley came to my rescue from her scolding.

“What solution?! Huh?!” Cherry huffed. “We warned you, but you seemed to have forgotten that you're a fucking wife of a celebrity.”

“Please, stop.” I ran a hand through my hair.

“He's dropped another post,” Charlotte, who seemed to be enjoying this, announced, dropping her phone in front of me.

I picked it up, my heart beating faster at the sight of Cole with his hand wrapped around my waist.

I had no idea who this person was, but he seemed to derive joy torturing me by posting photos of me with Cole.

About thirty minutes back, he had posted one of the first day I went with him and tagged it as;

‘Henry Smith's wife with her ex, seems to be having fun.’

The first post already had fifty thousand views on Instagram and thirty three thousand likes with even more comments and shares.

This picture was when I'd tripped and he caught me, but from whatever angle this person had captured it, we looked more like a couple.

It looked like we were falling in love. Especially the fact we'd both stared up at each other.

He tagged it as;

Maybe she's not really happy with Henry and someone else is willing to give her that happiness.’

Though it was just about three minutes ago, it already had five thousand views and two thousand likes and eight hundred comments.

I didn't even want to start reading the comments with the fear of what I'd see.

But what I was afraid of the most was if Henry had seen it and what he'd think about it.

“Who is this fucking person?!” Cherry demanded to no one exactly.

“He's just a paparazzi who posts juicy things about celebrities,” Charlotte replied, earning a glare from Cherry.

“What do I do?” I asked in fear of possibilities. “What do you think Henry would say about it?”

“He'll obviously be mad, I mean, you literally allowed your ex to grab you by the waist and look like you two are about to kiss,” Charlotte sounded like it was nothing.

“Why do we even call you to these gatherings?” Cherry stared at her like she wished she could punch her.

But Charlotte obviously didn't care because she took a sip of her apple juice.

“Have you seriously not mentioned anything to Henry about Cole?” Caley asked in a soft tone as it seemed like she was the only one who understood how I felt.

“No, I didn't think anything like this would happen,” I bit my lips, not sure what to even do anymore, “do you think he would've seen it?”

“Obviously,” Cherry said like it was obvious, “so what are you going to do?”

“I'll advise you to call him and explain it all.” Caley said.

“No, he would be at work and this is not something that should be explained to someone on the phone,”

“So what're you gonna do?” Cherry asked, seeming to calm a little.

“I'll wait till he gets home tonight and explain everything to him so he doesn't get too annoyed at me.”

“Do you think he'll listen?”

“I don't think he's the type that won't listen,” hopefully that wasn't how he was like.

“Okay, since that's the only possible solution, I guess I'll just have to agree with you,” Cherry took a glass of water, probably tired from all the scolding.

She wasn't usually so stern or scolding, but I'd guess it was as a result of the pregnancy and hormones or whatever smart people would call it.

Charlotte's phone vibrated on the table in front of me.

“Another message?” She asked, still sounding like she was enjoying this.

I picked up the phone, wishing with everything in me that it wasn't what was in my head that would be there.

But then the new post from the same dude popped on the screen and I just had to drop the phone back.

He had captured it really well.

The photo of when Cole had grabbed my hand in the restaurant.

But from anyone else's view, it'd look like I actually liked the fact he was holding my hand.

It didn't show my widened eyes or when I'd wanted to jerk my hand off his.

Oh shit, what was this about now!

Cherry reached for the phone, gasping dramatically when she saw the photo.

“You allowed him to hold your hand?” Now her scolding tone was back. “Why the— what the heck?”

Charlotte let out a chortle after she'd taken the phone to check the photo. “You two really look like you're dating.”

“Will you get the fuck out already?!” Cherry offered her a death glare.

“I recall being part of our four friend group,” she winked at Cherry earning a huff.

“Why did you let him hold your hand?!”

“Because,” how could I even explain to them that it wasn't what it looked like.

Most importantly, how could I explain to Henry?

Seriously, I wished I could go back in time to not meet with Cole in the first place, then all this wouldn't be happening.

Now I was left in an unexplainable circumstance.
