"We are not together anymore and Why Are You Acting Weird??"
"I know that. But, this is how I am. Isn't it??"
---------- Chapter 2. Accident ----------
The cold water cascaded over Beomgyu's warm, sweaty body as he stood under the shower He closed his eyes, letting the coldness wash over him, and as the droplets splashed against his skin, he silently reassured himself. There's no way I could ever meet Soobin again.

Beomgyu was getting ready for a late night movie, probably a horror one cause he loved it. He was happy alone. He turned on the TV, it was news channel. He didn't bother to change it. He went to his kitchen to get his freshly cooked butter popcorns. As he returned back to his living room's couch. He looked at the TV and the news flashed:
Fuxx's CEO's Son, CHOI SOOBIN met with a severe car accident and is under coma now. He condition is serious and doctor cannot say anything about his chances for now.
The news was like an arrow that cut Beomgyu's heart into two halves. But, he didn't let it show. He didn't let his tears to fall down for him. He would be a failure if he even desired to meet Soobin. But, Beomgyu loved him dearly. This doesn't means he will let himself fall again forgetting everything Soobin did to him...
He quickly changed the channel and opened Prime. He played the first movie that came. He started watching it. But, his mind was still stuck with Soobin. He hated himself for still caring about that guy.

PRESENT
Beomgyu felt refreshed and optimistic after his shower. He slipped into his suit, feeling the crisp fabric as he checked himself in the mirror. Satisfied with his look, he grabbed his phone and dialed Jeongin, ready for the day ahead.
As Beomgyu sat in the car with Jeongin, he couldn't shake the tension building in his chest. He tried to relax, but his mind kept racing back to his dream. Jeongin, noticed the subtle furrow in Beomgyu's brow and the tightness in his posture. Without a word, he reached over and gently squeezed Beomgyu's palm, offering a silent gesture of comfort.
Beomgyu flinched at the unexpected touch. He turned to look at Jeongin, who gave him a soft, reassuring smile. Jeongin's voice was calm and steady as he spoke, "Beomgyu-ah, it's fine... You're perfect just as you are. Don't stress about finding the perfect CEO. Look at how far we've come—we're already Rank B models after just two years since your debut. We've done more than most could dream of."
Beomgyu sighed, his voice carrying a hint of unease as he looked out the window. "Innie, do you know... today, I coincidentally dreamt about my first meeting with Soobin." He chuckled softly, though there was a trace of tension in his tone. "I just hope I don't run into any of his family over there." Beomgyu lets out his worry.
Jeongin chuckles and responds, "No way, that guy must be still in coma after that accident. Let's focus on our golden day for now, Beomie..."
Beomgyu couldn't help but let out a quiet smile, feeling a little of the weight lift off his shoulders. He knew Jeongin was right.
The memory of that first encounter with Soobin was still fresh in Beomgyu's mind—a time when things had been uncertain, when his future felt fragile.
When they arrived at the apartment that would decide their fates, Beomgyu's eyes widened. The room was filled with dozens of CEOs from major fashion brands, all dressed impeccably. He had expected to meet someone around his age, someone he could spend the next two weeks with without it feeling awkward. But the atmosphere was tense, and the age gap between him and most of the CEOs and Models was obvious.
As Beomgyu lost himself in thought, he absentmindedly stepped ahead of the entry point. Taehyun called out to him just as he was walking forward, and Beomgyu instinctively turned his head to reply, not realizing that he had veered off in the wrong direction.
In that moment of distraction, his foot landed on a roller left carelessly on the floor. With a startled gasp, Beomgyu's body went into a quick, graceless slide. But before he could hit the ground, a strong hand wrapped around his waist, pulling him back with perfect timing.
The way how the hand was wrapped around his waist was perfect. So romantic. Yet, so familiar...

"Beomgyu, we have to go to the basketball final match. Soobin hyung is playing, so you have to be there," Taehyun said.
Beomgyu let out a long, exaggerated sigh, his lips turning down into a pout. "No, Hyun, I don't wanna go... Why should I? It's gonna be so awkward. He hasn't even invited me..." Beomgyu's voice carried a hint of sulking as he crossed his arms, clearly not keen on the idea.
Taehyun raised an eyebrow and gave him a pointed look. "Gyu, why should he invite you? You guys are fake dating for the public. You're supposed to be there, even if Soobin hyung doesn't invite you."
Beomgyu rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed. But before he could get lost in his thoughts, an unexpected voice cut through the air, sending a chill down his spine.
"Beomgyu!!!"
Beomgyu froze. His heart raced. That voice. No, not now, he thought, his stomach sinking. His stalker—that creep, the one who had tormented him for so long— the creep who was reason for him and Soobin fake dating in the first place - standing there, too close, way too close. How had he appeared out of nowhere?
In a panic, Beomgyu took an instinctive step back, but the floor beneath him was slick, and he lost his footing. He slipped and tumbled backward, barely having time to react. His mind screamed I'm going to fall, but before he could hit the ground, something strong caught him around the waist.
It wasn't Taeil, though. No.
A firm hand gripped him, yanking him out of the fall and pulling him sharply away from his stalker. The pull was so quick, so sudden, Beomgyu barely registered it before he was pulled into the safety of someone else's arms.
For a second, the world felt like it slowed down. Beomgyu's pulse was still racing, but the way the hand was wrapped around his waist felt oddly comforting.
He looked up to see who had saved him.
And there he was—someone he had never expected. Soobin. But how? When did he get here? Did he hear everything? Beomgyu's mind was a whirlwind of confusion, but he couldn't deny the strange mix of safety and... something else in the way Soobin's arms held him close.
"Are you ok, baby??" Soobin asked, his voice so gentle and warm. Beomgyu couldn't process the words right away. His brain was still trying to catch up. After a beat, Beomgyu finally responded, his voice a little hoarse, "Yeah..."
Soobin gently helped him stand on his own, his hands lingering on Beomgyu's shoulders for a second too long. Beomgyu couldn't shake the strange flutter in his chest as Soobin turned to face Taeil.
Taeil's expression twisted into one of shock as his eyes flicked between the two of them. "Who are you?" he asked, voice filled with confusion and suspicion.
Soobin didn't flinch. In fact, his tone turned sharp, protective. "Seriously? I should be asking you that. What the hell are you doing following my boyfriend around?"
Taeil's jaw tightened at the word, his eyes narrowing in disbelief. Without saying another word, he turned and walked away, leaving the two of them standing there in an uneasy silence.
Beomgyu could barely register what had just happened. "Soobin," he murmured, looking up at him with wide eyes, still trying to wrap his head around the situation. Soobin just smiled softly, though it didn't quite reach his eyes.
"Beomgyu, I want you to come to see my basket ball final match, if you have time. I'm sorry I couldn't invite you any early." Soobin said, maintaining his calmness. Without thinking, Beomgyu nodded eagerly, a warm smile spreading across his face. "Of course. I wouldn't miss it." Before Soobin could respond, they both turned at the sound of footsteps. Yeonjun appeared, waving his hand and calling out to Soobin. "Yo, coach is looking for you!"
Soobin looked back at Beomgyu, his expression softening. He stepped closer, pulling Beomgyu into a brief, unexpected hug. "See you at the match, okay?" Soobin's voice was low and sincere. "I won't disappoint you."
Beomgyu froze, the words lingering in the air like a strange promise. I won't disappoint you. Beomgyu's heart raced for a moment longer, and the weight of Soobin's embrace felt almost too real. He pulled back slightly to look at Soobin, but the other boy was already stepping away, his focus shifting back to Yeonjun.
As Soobin jogged off to meet his teammate, Beomgyu stood there, his mind a full of confusion. The hug had been casual, sure—but the way Soobin said I won't disappoint you, the way he looked at him, it all felt too... intimate, too loaded for something that was supposed to be fake.
This is fake dating, Beomgyu reminded himself. But the doubt lingered in his chest, a gnawing feeling he couldn't shake. Soobin might be acting like this was all a game—but why did it feel so real to Beomgyu?

PRESENT
The way his hand wrapped around Beomgyu's waist felt... perfect. So intimate, so romantic. Yet, at the same time, it was hauntingly familiar. Slowly, Beomgyu lifted his gaze, dreading what he might see. His worst fear, staring back at him.
And then, their eyes met.
It was him. The same eyes—eyes that had once held him gently, years ago, only to throw him away without a second thought. The same eyes that had haunted Beomgyu for so long, that still caused a tight knot to form in his chest.
He hadn't changed. Still charming. Still handsome. But this time, the gaze wasn't cold or distant. It was warm, inviting, almost... concerned. There was a smile on his lips—one that seemed welcoming, reassuring.
But, this time Beomgyu couldn't feel the warmth. His pulse quickened, his stomach churned with dread.
No, he thought, this can't be happening.
Beomgyu hated him. He feared him more than he feared anything else in the world. The way he had treated Beomgyu, the scars he had left—those were wounds that time had never healed. And even after all these years, the trauma was still there, lurking, a constant presence in the back of his mind.
At that moment, Beomgyu wished for nothing more than to never see him again.
But of course, there he was.
"Are you okay?" Soobin's voice was laced with genuine concern. "Yeah," Beomgyu answered curtly, his tone quick and dismissive. In one swift motion, he pushed Soobin's hand away from his waist and stepped back, creating space between them. Soobin froze, his brow furrowing in confusion. He opened his mouth to speak, but before he could say anything, his manager stepped in, breaking the tension.
"Soobin, this is Choi Beomgyu, Rank B Model," the manager introduced, his voice professional but neutral. "Beomgyu? That Beomgyu?" Soobin's voice wavered in disbelief, his eyes widening as he turned to the manager for confirmation.
The manager gave a slight nod, his expression unreadable, before gently pulling Soobin away. Beomgyu stood motionless, his gaze fixed on the floor as the two walked off. As soon as they were out of sight, Beomgyu's composure shattered and he sits onto the floor.
Before he could hit the ground, a steady hand caught him.
"Innie... Why? Why is he back? Why is he acting like everything's fine after everything he did to me?" Beomgyu's voice was soft but thick with emotion.
Jeongin helped Beomgyu back onto his feet, his touch warm and reassuring. Beomgyu took a deep breath, swallowing the knot in his throat, and quickly straightened up.
"Let's go," Beomgyu said, his voice cool again, though the hurt was still evident beneath the surface. He didn't wait for a reply, turning toward the hall that decided everyone's fate.
Jeongin followed silently, but his worried glance never left Beomgyu.
