Isadora POV
I sat in front of the large mirror in Ginny's room. My reflection was barely recognizable. My hair was in a style I've never tried before. It was styled elegantly in soft waves that framed my face perfectly. Ginny stood behind be helping me fix it.
"This is so strange." I said. "I like to dress up but I've never dressed up this much before."
"Well, we're not just going to any ball. We're going to the Yule Ball. We have to look the part."
Hermione was already dressed. She wore a beautiful periwinkle gown with her hair in a sleek and elegant knot twisted to back of her hair. She sat behind us fiddling with her gown and her beaded purse. "Ginny's right, you'll thank her when you walk in looking like a goddess."
I glanced at myself in the mirror. I was feeling a bit nervous now. I had picked out a dress that was elegant but not over the top. The fabric fell softly around me. The simple design hugged my curves perfectly. The way I looked made me feel confident even though my stomach was still in knots.
I turned around to look at all of us. "We look perfect." I said excitedly. " I just hope I don't trip over my gown walking in."
"You'll be fine." Hermione said. "It's Émeric who should be worried. He'll forget how to walk when he sees you."
At the mention of Émeric name my stomach tightened. It wasn't that I didn't like him I mean he was charming, handsome, sweet, and a great distraction from Fred. My feelings were still very complicated though.
"Speaking of Émeric are you finally ready to give him a chance?" Ginny asked.
I glanced down twisting my fingers together. "I don't know...let's just see how tonight goes." I said
We continue to talk about the ball and how excited we were. Before we knew it, it was time to go. Ginny and I headed out first seeing as Hermione was meeting Victor a little later then us. I dropped Ginny off with Neville before I made my way downstairs to find Émeric. I found him in hall near the entrance to the ball. I could hear music playing through the doors as I got closer to him.
"Émeric." I called out trying to get his attention.
He turned around and his jaw dropped. "Oh my, Isadora you look magnificent ." He said walking over to me.
"Thank you." I blushed. "You look amazing as well."
"I wish I looked half a good as you do." He laced his arm through mine. "Shall we?" He gesturing to the grand doorway. I nodded and he led me to the doors.

Fred POV
The Yule Ball decorated beautifully. It seemed like someone planned it out to every last detail. Lee, George, and I were standing in a circle with our dates. I had was with Angelina while George was with Katie and Lee had taken Alicia. We're all in a group laughing and complementing each other.
"You look wonderful." I whispered to Angelina.
She locked eyes with me and smiled. "You don't look to bad yourself." She chuckled lacing her fingers through mine. We spent a little while looking at everyone and making small talk. I turned my head to the door and that's when I saw her.
My breath caught on my throat for a moment as Isadora stepped into the ballroom. She looked absolutely stunning. She was radiant, laughing easily with Émeric at her side. The soft light catching the shimmer of her dress. For a moment I had forgotten about everything. Angelina, the ball, all of it. My eyes followed Isadora as she moved across the room, effortlessly happy, effortlessly beautiful.
Angelina was talking but I couldn't focus. "You okay?" She asked
I blinked tearing my eyes away from Isadora. "Yeah. Fine." But I was not fine, not when Isadora was across the room smiling at someone else.

Isadora POV
The ball had officially started and so far it was the most fun I've had all year. The music the food and the dancing was great. Émeric made it quite fun too. His energy was always amazing. We spent a lot of time with Ginny, Hermione, and their dates. Harry and Ron seemed to spend the whole time alone moping around. We were at the center of the crowd dancing to Weird Sisters. Hermione expressed she was parched and so was I. I volunteered to go get us some punch telling Émeric before leaving him in the crowd.
I spotted the table and headed over picking up two glasses of punch. I turned around when hand gently grabbed my arm.
"Isadora, wait"
I turn around to meet Fred's gaze. He gave serious look as he stood too close to ignore.
"What do you want?"
Fred hesitated, his voice low. "I just...I need to talk to you."
I glance at the crowd where Émeric was waiting for me. "I don't think this is a good time."
His jaw tightened. "Please, it will just be a moment." He begged.
"I have nothing to say to you."
"Isadora, please."
"I have to-"
"ISADORA" he shouted catching me off guard he seemed surprised at himself. He took the glasses out of my hand placing them back on the table before grabbing my arm and dragging me towards the outdoor area of the ball.
