I woke up the next morning feeling refreshed, like something I hadn't felt before. The sun was shining nicely through my curtains giving it a warm touch. As I got up to stretch, I didn't see Kamala. Her scent was still lingering through my apartment and it made me miss her instantly. I sighed as I looked around, disappointed that she wasn't here. It was six thirty, so maybe she needed to head to the office quickly. I took a deep breath and walked to the bathroom to take a shower. When I noticed the three hickeys on my neck, my jaw dropped. What the fuck-... omg she left hickeys on my neck. I can't possibly go to work looking like this. My thoughts began to wander to the previous night. Did she mean to do this? I whispered, looking shocked at my neck. I quickly hopped in the shower and was faced with the steamy hot water. I could still smell her on me and I honestly didn't want to wash it away. It gave me a sense of comfort. Getting out of the shower, I ran to my room and searched for my concealer. It wasn't the perfect match, but it would have to hold me off for the day. I carefully placed it on all three parts of my neck. For the most part, they were just barely visible. Good enough, I said to myself letting out a sigh of relief. I kind of liked how she left her marks on me.
I realized I had fifteen minutes to get ready when I checked my phone. I quickly made my way out of my closet after throwing my phone down on my bed. I decided to dress fairly casually for the day. It was far too hot for me to wear a turtleneck, even though I wanted to wear one to hide my marks. I took my purse and phone and headed out. The same agent who I welcome every morning, was there when I opened my door. As he drove me to the office, we went through our daily routine. Once we arrived, I walked in feeling a sense of relief. Literally, a sense of relief. I happily walked up the stairs and onto my floor. I was greeted by Allie, who was coming out of her office with her phone in her hand.
"Bethy, good morning."She said, smiling wider than normal as she looked up at me.
"Morning, Allie."I said, showing all of my teeth. I enjoyed talking with her in the mornings. It felt like a way to start my day. "Where are you headed?" I asked, my eyes following her movement down the hall.
"I have to go to an early meeting this morning, signing papers and all. You know, the boring part, she said rolling her eyes." For a second, she looked at my shirt and started to move closer to me squinting her eyes. You have a little smudge on your shirt. I'll get it for you. She quickly went to the bathroom and came back in less than twenty seconds. Pulling me in by my waist, she started to wipe my shirt. It was a stain from the concealer I used that morning. Something about her touch sent a shiver down my spine. She was so caring and careful every time she helped me.
For a moment, our smiles brought our gaze together. I was staring at her so closely that I failed to hear the doors open across from us. I looked around and saw a few individuals chatting. I took that to mean that the meeting was coming to a close. I saw her in the crowd. I thought she looked gorgeous. She stood out like a sore thumb. She looked up from her paperwork and looked up at me. Nothing welcoming or even a smile was present. She walked to another hall with a blank expression on her face. My chest started to feel tight. Damn it, I fucked up. As Allie finished up she stepped back and looked at me with warm eyes.
"Perfect,"she said, smiling and looking back to me. She checked her phone and realized she was running late. Shit, I gotta get going. I'll catch you later Beth."
She gave me a smile as she turned to leave. Ready to take on the day, I headed to my own office. I needed to plan a good deal for Kamala's schedule. I set all of my things down, took a seat, and started working. I couldn't help but get sidetracked since I couldn't stop thinking about Kamala. I was curious as to what she was doing right now. I noticed that she had a photoshoot shoot with Doug when I scrolled through her events. I squinted at the display. Why does his name always appear when I'm making plans on my screen? Rolling my eyes, I continued working. After a few hours, I was finally finished with the schedule. But this time, I would taking it to her in person on paper. This was just my excuse to go see her. I quickly grabbed the papers and headed to her floor. Standing in front of the tall doors, I gently knocked before awaiting her response.
"Come in."
I slowly opened the door, but with a new confidence. After making the President cum, I felt like the baddest bitch in the White House. She shot her head up at the site of me.
"Good morning, Madam President."I said with a smirk on my face, "How are you feeling today?" There was definitely a double meaning behind what I said, and she knew exactly what I meant.
"I feel fantastic, dear. How about yourself?" she said, resting her chin on her fists.
Playing along, I approached her desk with the papers still in hand. "Oh I feel just as good Madam President." I came in here because I've finished your schedule but, I have a question.
"Okay, go ahead." She leaned back in her chair, showing me that I have her full attention. It was the small things she did, like that, that made me crave this woman.
I sat down at the seat in front of her desk. "I seen that you had a photoshoot with your husband set for today. May I ask what it's is for? I asked, my eyebrows raised. She shot me back with a small smirk to her lips.
"Well, it's for my upcoming campaign and we're putting up new pictures for the White House. Representing me, and the first gentlemen. Is that a problem, dear?"
The thought of that made my blood boil, and by know, she knows how easily my face turns when I'm nervous or upset.
"Hmm, I see."
She leaned back up to look at me and replied, "Hmm, what, exactly?"
I tried not to pull my face away from her and just held her eyes. "I was just curious," I answered.
She cupped her face in her palms and leaned her eyes a little closer to mine. "Is that a problem, dear?" She was clearly trying to annoy me, and I could tell that it was working. I could feel my heart pounding harder in my chest.
"No, not at all." I let out a forced smile.
"Then why is your face all red, babygirl?"
My eyes became a little wider at her answer. Why this time? Why, once I was gone, couldn't my face do this? Feeling stupid, I thought. I had to quickly come up with an excuse. "It's just hot in here," I said.
"I bet it is, dear. Is that my schedule in your hands?"she pointed at the papers I was holding with a look of satisfaction on her face."Can I have them?"
Feeling slightly annoyed, I handed her the papers.
"Thank you, Ms Taylor. You may head back to your office." She said, with a sarcastic smile on her face.
So that was it? Head back to your office?
I got up, trying not to show too much emotion on my face. That's when an idea hit me. I turned back before reaching the door. "Come to think of it Madam President, you have a lot of upcoming events that need to be planned. Why don't I just stay back here today and get that situated for you? "
She let out a low laugh at my idea, crossing her arms and slightly adjusting in her seat. "That's okay dear, I'll have someone else plan it for me. I want you there with me."
"Well, then there wouldn't really be a reason for me to be there. You do, after all, have bodyguards to keep you safe. So, I don't see what I would be contributing. I could have Allie help me out since it's a lot of work." I only mentioned her because I was gonna piss her off the same way she pissing me off. She was being on the funny side today, so I had to return it.
Her smile quickly faded into a blank expression. I knew I hit a nerve there.
"No, you will accompany me, and that's the end of this conversation Ms. Taylor."
She's only trying to get under your skin, Beth. Just relax. I turned back, and headed out of the door.
I let out a deep breath as I walked out gathering myself.
Later that day
It was time to leave for the shoot. I spun around in my chair dreading the day that was ahead. I gathered my things and headed outside. Strangely, the agent that walked me to my usual assigned truck, guided me into a new direction. "Where are we going?" I asked, looking at him confused.
Keeping his eyes straight ahead, he replied, "The President has asked me to escort you into the vehicle she will be riding in."
"Oh, is there a reason?" I asked, trying to get the answers out of him before we reach the truck.
"That's all I can disclose ma'am."
Damn it. I had this gut feeling that she was planning something else.
Once we reached the truck, the agent opened my door as I hopped inside.
"Hello, how are you doing?"
Glancing up, I spotted Doug sitting next to Kamala, grinning brightly. She was sitting with her hands in her lap and her legs crossed. I kept trying to put my finger on this smile that was glued on her face. I was fully aware of how this would end.
I spoke and awkwardly smiled back, "I'm good, how are you?"
"I'm good as well, thank you for asking."
Kamala remained silent to me. Her eyes were fixed on me the entire time. She finally said something. "Dougie, I can't wait for our photo shoot."
I rolled my eyes at the interaction. Dougie, yeah okay.
"Me too, honey. You look extra beautiful today." Turning to her, he placed a kiss on her lips. He doesn't even have any for real so I was surprised it landed.
I looked out the window, disgusted, unwilling to look at what was going on in front of me. She requested me in here just to make me jealous. Two can play that game though. I was just gonna be twice as good at it. I felt her eyes on me, but I wasn't going to give in and give her the attention or the reaction she was trying to get out of me. She has to be doing this because she saw Allie wiping my shirt.
We were escorted inside the facility as soon as we arrived. At this point, my intention was to turn into a ghost. My plan was to occupy myself with something and steer clear of Kamala as much as possible. She went inside, and she and Doug parted ways. Thank god. I moved over to the game machines in the lounge after noticing they were there. Pac-Man? Yes, please. I eagerly sat down and got ready to play. I always felt like a kid, thus I liked stuff like this. This was a great distraction from the original reason I was here. I felt a tap on my shoulder from one of the photographers.
"Excuse me ma'am, The president has requested you to come over to look at her photos."
Letting out a long sigh, I stood up and walked with the photographer.
As I walked over, her and Doug were laughing it up acting like the perfect couple. I rolled my eyes at the put on.
Noticing my presence, she looked over at me with a huge smile. "Hey, Beth, could you check over the photos and tell me if they're up to par?"
I looked over at her annoyed, knowing what game she was playing. As I scrolled through the photos, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I leaned back and met her gaze once again. "They look great," I said with a fake smile. I had to keep my composure because I didn't want anyone to notice the tension between us. As I turned to walk away, she spoke again.
"That's great to hear. Could you check the fifth picture for me dear? Maybe it's the lighting?"
Wanting this to be over I checked the picture. As soon as I realized what I was looking at, I inhaled deeply and exhaled. It was a picture of her and Doug kissing. At this point, can we please go the fuck back to the office? I wanted to crash out so bad, but I knew she was trying to get me to fold.
"These look just as great, Madam President."
I quickly turned away, clearly upset.
A few hours later
It was finally time to leave and I felt a sense of relief. The day was finally over and I looked forward to leaving and going to talk to Franky after. As we load back into the truck, Kamala and Doug were back sitting side by side and talking about the shoot. Giggling it up as if I wasn't even there. I was actually relieved that they didn't say anything to me. Suddenly, my phone lit up with a call from Allie. I quickly answered, surprised by her call.
"Hey, Bethy. I know I missed the event today but I had to stay back to do my paperwork."
"It's okay Als, maybe next time," I said, smiling over the phone.
The mention of Allie's name caused Kamala to look up swiftly. If truth be said, I was so at peace hearing Allie's voice that I didn't even realize she was staring at me.
"I called because I needed your opinion on my hair. I've been thinking about cutting it but I'm not fully sure. Can you help me out?"
"Of course, send me a picture of you."
"Sure thing, I've gotta get back to work but I'm gonna text you."
"Okay Allie, I'll talk to you later."
I placed my phone in my lap turning my head back the window. It was now silent in the car. Doug had fallen asleep, and I could feel Kamala's eyes putting holes in me. A few minutes went by, and I received a text. My ringer was on, so Siri announced out loud who just texted me.
As I looked down, my phone unlocked with my Face ID revealing the photo.
I was astounded at the picture. I couldn't help but smile at Allie in the picture since she looked so adorable. I quickly picked my phone up responding to the text. Looking up from my phone and back to the window, I could see we were pulling back into the White House. Everyone began grabbing their things and heading out. Doug awoke and got out of the truck. I grabbed some papers along with my belongings. Before I could get up, I felt a hand grab me with force sitting me back down. It was her. Looking at me with those brown eyes.
"W-what are you doing?" I asked, looking at her like she was crazy.
"Why do you keep playing with me, Elizabeth?" her tone was serious.
I swallowed hard, feeling a bit nervous. "What are you talking about, Kamala?"
"You're a very smart girl, so don't play stupid with me."
I knew exactly what she meant but playing clueless felt like the safest option.
"What did I tell you about being personal with co workers?"
The emotions I had been feeling all day came back rushing in.
"I'm not your girlfriend, Kamala; you don't own me. You can't tell me who to talk to or socialize with. Why do you care so much when I'm just doing my job? Why now, since you didn't seem to care about me earlier?" She thought it was all fine and dandy to talk to Doug, but I couldn't talk to Allie? It wasn't fair to me, so I had to let it out.
She grabbed me forcefully and pinned me down beside her on the next seat. Her body was now on top of mine. I was taken back by her sudden movement. Her grip on my arm was firm.
She looked deep into my eyes before she spoke. "You will not talk to me that way, Elizabeth. Also, you will not be messaging Allie anymore, understood?"
"You can't tell me-... before I could finish, my phone lit up again. Allie sent me another picture. My eyes widened not knowing what she was gonna do once she saw it. She grabbed my phone from the other seat and turned to me with that dark look in her eyes.
"Unlock it."
"Why?"
"Last chance, dear. Unlock it now."
Her face was nothing but serious.
I couldn't move my body because of the force she placed on it. So, I looked at my phone using Face ID and it opened with ease. She quickly went to my messages and swiped over to see the picture of Allie. She let out a low mischievous laugh. Turning my phone for me to see, she swiped over our messages deleting her from my phone. Feeling angry I blurted out, "Why would you do that?"
I tried to get up but her grip was to tight. "Going somewhere, dear?"
Her sudden dominance was starting to make me feel a little moist down there. Even when I'm mad at her she still gets me wet.
"Now, do I make myself clear?'
I didn't say anything. I was taking in her beautiful features and that fresh smell.
"Do. I. Make. Myself. Clear?"
"Yes."
"Yes, what?" She asked, getting closer to my lips.
"Yes, Madam President."
Placing a deep kiss on my lips, she replied.
"That's my good girl."
How we feeling this chapter? I know it's been like 3 days since I upload but that's because I'm brainstorming ideas for how I want my next chapter to be. So once I start writing, it just come naturally.
