"Mooom stop it you're embarrassing me." Static complained as his mother kissed him on the cheek outside of his highschool. Static was 16, it was his second year of high school and he was a sophomore.
"Oh hush. You know you love me more than you care about being embarrassed." She teased as she nuzzled him affectionately, and he nuzzled back.
The bell rang. Static was late.
"Love you, Mama!" Static called as he started to run off into the school. His mother waved to him as he ran off
Static jolted up from dozing off when he saw Gavin, he was not in his lab coat but in a different outfit. A long-sleeved shirt, a pair of blue jeans along with hiking boots. Static was in the same outfit as he was yesterday. His favorite shorts, his white shirt, and his long brown jacket.
He also now had the addition of P-00-A and P-00-B one and two. P-00-A was the backpack he had had since high school with a few alterations like he added a screen and an array of other things. He also added hooks so he could attack P-00-B one and two. P-00-B are his gloves, he uses them to switch between dimensions and timelines. They also have another feature, a powerful weapon.
The gloves can concentrate static, electricity, heat, and radio wave-like things to make a shock wave that can break things or hurt other creatures or people. He called this a Static Wave.
The gloves also had an emergency feature. It would use all of its power to form a shield around Static and anyone near him. He called this a Static Field.
Gavin greeted Static. "Hello Static! I just love your design for your erm- Gloves? They are very stylish!" Gavin greeted enthusiastically.
"Oh. Thank you. They're portal gloves. They make the portals to travel from universe to universe." Static described as they walked through the town. Static had spent the night in the palace in a guest room. He slept on a plush, four-post bed with a canopy.
"Oh! Did you build them yourself?" Gavin asked as he reached out to touch them.
"Ah. Yes, I did. I'm a scientist and an engineer back home." Static explained as he slightly pulled away, not wanting to be touched.
"Skumondo! Can I see your sketch?" Gavin asked, not trying to get any closer to Static.
"Sku- What now?" Static asked, puzzled as he started to dig from his backpack.
"Skumondo! It means super mega awesome. I invented that word." Gavin explained happily. Gavin, outside of work seemed very silly and happy.
"Oh. Cool. Cool." Static said as he pulled out a folder. The folder, in big words, said "DESIGN SKETCHES" on the front of it. Static opened it up and flipped through sketches of designs for his inventions. Soon Static pulled out a sketch of his backpack and two metal gloves.
*The sketch.*
Gavin examined the sketch. "Wow. It looks almost exactly like the real thing. And your sketch is really clean. Mine are usually messy.
Static blushed and spoke. "Ah. Thanks. . . I'm sorry if my hand writing is kind of messy." Static looked away, not used to receiving compliments.
"So where are we going?"
Gavin smiled at Static. "Into the forest. There's some occult ruins in there."
"Ruins? For what?"
"You see, deep within the idol there is a book called a Grimoire. It will teach you the ways of dark magic and possibly how to banish these dastardly creatures from our home." Gavin explained as they started to leave the town and headed into a flat area.
"A Grim- What?"
"A Grimoire. A magical textbook. A book of spells. A spell book. A-" Gavin explained but Static interrupted.
"Okay! Okay! I get it!" Static exclaimed as they soon entered a lightly wooded area.
Gavin just smiled as they headed into the forest. After a long hour they were in the thick of the forest. Soon after another long 10 minutes they made it to a structure.
"My feet hurt!" Static complained as he looked up at the structure. "Woah. What is that?"
"The ruins. We have to go inside for that Grimoire! We've tried before but there's a barrier that surrounds it. We believe you can break it somehow like inscribed in the paper."
Static looked at Gavin. "You know I'm not some magical being right?"
"Yes. I know."
"And, you expect me to break a magical barrier?"
"Yes."
"And exactly how do you expect me to do that?"
Gavin pointed to Static's portal gloves. "They have a weapon do they not?"
"They do but break a magical barrier? That's a bit far-fetched."
"You're here to try and save us from a cult. Not tell me you can't do things you haven't tried."
Static sighed. "Okay. Okay. Calm down. You're being very pushy."
"It's not my fault you're here to fulfill a prophecy."
Static groaned as he reached out to step onto the structure, only for a magical force field to stop him.
"See? Believe me now?" Gavin teased like he was the whole time.
Static nodded. He powered on his left glove. He cocked it and suddenly. .
BOOM!
An insanely large, and very visible radio wave shot from his glove. Gavin stared in awe as the magical barrier shattered into shards. Static quickly pulled Gavin close and shielded him with his body and tail.
"Oh scat! Are you okay?" Static said as he shielded his face using his arms.
""Woah. . ." Gavin watched the shards fall and scatter across the ground. Hitting the ground and making plants die and wither away.
"Hey, careful. Don't step on that stuff okay? I don't know if it'll hurt you." Static flicked his tail nervously.
"Got it. Shall we go inside?" Gavin grinned.
