Mr. Aizawa was talking to the class as we were waiting for our trains. "Which agency did you pick, Hakamada? I chose gunhead!" Uraraka said excitedly from my side, I smiled at her, "I chose Sir Nighteye, sure Gang Orcha is a great option too but I figured Sir Nighteye could teach me more ya'know?"
She nodded, "I wish you luck!"
"You too, where's Iida? I haven't seen him around here lately..."
"Yeah, he's been off. I don't know where he is though," Uraraka sighed and I nodded with a small smile.
"Oh! That's my train, see you later, Uraraka!" We waved to each other as I boarded my train, sitting down and sighing as the train began to leave the station. I listened to music as I waited for my stop, it was about an hour away from UA so I had some time.
I stepped off the train and went to Nighteye's agency, my heart thumping as I took big deep breaths to contain myself. I walked into the agency, clutching the briefcase containing my hero costume. The receptionist looked up at me with a smile, "Hello, sweetie. What can I do for you?"
"I'm interning here, I'm Tadashi Hakamada," I say with a tiny smile, a bead of sweat falling from my forehead, he seemed slightly shocked before dialing numbers on his old-fashioned phone. "Yes, a girl named Tadashi Hakamada is here." He hummed and hung up, looking up at me with a smile, "His office is on the top floor, can't miss it," I thanked him and went to the elevator.
The elevator dinged as the doors opened, I stepped out and took a deep breath before walking down the hallway, knocking on the door quietly. I heard a deep and calm voice say 'Come in,' I opened the door and walked in.
Hesitantly, looking up to see three figures, pro-hero bubble girl, Sir Nighteye, and... MIRIO?! "No way! You're interning here Hakamada?!" He appeared in my face, I nodded smiling. He started shaking my shoulders furiously, "Hey, hey, are you sure you should be up and adem todayyyy? Are you okay enough too??"
"Mirio!" I stopped him from shaking my brain any further, and I chuckled, "Im fine. Don't worry about what happened," He had a poker face and tilted his head, "I dunno."
I sighed.
"You two know each other?!" I heard an excited voice say from behind Mirio, it was Bubble Girl, "Yep! She trains with us every other day!" Mirio said happily, I nodded in agreement.
"Then I suppose that will make things less awkward," Sir Nighteye stood from his chair, approaching me with a serious look, "I have to be honest, I was thinking you chose another agency to intern at. But I'm glad you chose mine, you will benefit of course."
I nodded, smiling slightly. Nighteye turned to Mirio and Bubble Girl, "Give us a moment?" They nodded and left, Mirio wishing me good luck and then leaving with a big smile, I turned back to him curiously. His tall and slim figure reminded me of Dad's. And his tamed hair...
Sir Nighteye walked back to his desk, holding up a stamp when he turned to face me. It was the stamp he would use to agree to intern with me, "Get this stamp from me. And then I'll intern you."
I looked down at the ground, "No rules?"
"No rules," He confirmed.
I took a few steps back, humming as I looked around the room and then back at him, I smiled and charged at him, but he swiftly dodged as I flung at him in an attempt to grab the stamp, 'I was right, he dodged to the left. Good.'
I forced my body to face him midair, the hand holding the stamp was in the air, I swished my hand, purposefully missing the stamp, a thread snatching it from his hand, I yelp as I smash against the shelf, falling onto my side clutching the stamp to my chest as I pant.
I looked down at my hand, seeing the stamp laying on it, looking up at Sir Nighteye, he had been looking at his hand before down at me, then smiled and lent a hand out to help me up. Which, I took. He pulled me up from the ground, "Your future is bright," He patted my head, went to his desk, and stamped a paper, "C'mon," He turned and started walking to the door. We left his office and Mirio and Bubble Girl immediately appeared.
"Did she pass?!" Mirio asks with a big smile, Sir Nighteye nods with a tiny one. Mirio smushed me into a hug, I was struggling to breathe, "Mirio." Sir Nighteye scolded, Mirio let me down laughing, "Sorry." I laughed at him.
"Go put your hero costumes on you two, we're going to Hosu," Nighteye walked back to his office, "We're leaving in 20."
I and Mirio glance at each other before parting ways to change. Once we finished changing, Bubble Girl, and Sir Nighteye took a car to Hosu. We ended up patrolling around the city, Sir Nighteye informing me about a few things, with Bubble Girl and Mirio occasionally popping into the conversation.
When no one was talking, my thoughts ran to the Hero Killer who had been targeting Hosu for some time. No one knew where he was or if he was still in Hosu or not. Dad had been talking about him at home, and I had seen him several times on the news. He was dangerous and had a dangerous quirk.
As we were walking in silence, I chuckled at a memory from earlier.
I leaned on the left side of Dad's desk as he spoke to a Bakugou in costume, "To be quite frank, I don't like you very much."
"Huh?" Bakugou seemed pissed and confused at that statement, Dad turned around to face him.
"I know full well why you chose my agency because I'm one of the top five most popular heroes," He spoke, I leaned back on my hands watching the scene before me.
"Hey look, you're the one who made an offer for me," Bakugou spoke, not yelling. Thankfully. But that was probably because I was in the room, Second Sense told me he had no respect for Dad.
"Yes, recently all my recruits have been perfect little angels. So you certainly stood out. However, you do have a fatal flaw, you believe you're the best, and you display that leaf without recording how it represents you or you're image. You have a ferocious nature," I wish I had popcorn right about now.
"Don't tell me you brought me here just to give me a lecture-" He started walking towards us but Dad's threads stopped him, shocking him as he couldn't move an inch.
"I have to correct people like you, it's part of my duty to society. Heroes and Villains are cut from the same cloth. So your job here is to watch me, I'll show you what makes someone a hero."
"What in the hell are you doing?" Bakugou asked, still not yelling.
"Isn't it obvious? I'm educating you on becoming an exemplary pro, which includes being aware of the way you speak, you're appearance, controlling your emotions, and your morals, there are countless things you need to learn. But in the brief period of one week, I will stitch these things into the fabric of your being."
Bakugou looked like he was about to explode, but he glanced at me occasionally as if reminding himself of something. I hummed a strand of hair through my delicate fingers. Dad turned to me, "And Dashi, I wish you luck during your internship. You should get going now, be careful."
I nodded with a smile, hopping off the desk and jumping up slightly to kiss his cheek. He chuckled, "You have no reason to be so tall," I whine, giggling slightly. I turned and hugged my arms around Bakugou's neck, he growled slightly but didn't resist, "Behave! Or else I'll have your butt!"
"Yeah whatever," He mumbled, I sighed and crossed my arms, he growled and mumbled again, "Fine, I'll behave..."
"Good angry pomeranian!" I patted his head earning a defeated sigh, and I left the office, waving bye to Dad's sidekicks.
I sigh and look up at the sky, the sun was starting to set. It was pretty quiet. No villains had been seen this entire time. I suppose that's fortunate. We had been getting several looks from people on the sidewalk. I saw a little boy tug at his mom while pointing at me with a big smile, I smiled softly at the kid and waved at him, his mom smiled at me.
Suddenly, a crowd of people started running the opposite way, curious the four of us run towards where their running from. Things are on fire, I look around and my eyes widened as they land on a creature that looked similar to the Nomu I faced. I grit my teeth.
"A villain attack... And even more Nomu..." I mumbled and little breathless, Mirio hums curiously, turning to me, "Nomu?"
"There was one at the USJ attack, the one that nearly killed Aizawa," I say keeping my eyes forward, Mirio mumbled, "The one you sliced the hands off of right?" I nodded.
I looked around confused as to why I didn't see that decay villain. I knew they were close though. A bead of sweat went down my temple, remembering the feeling of being decayed. I bit my lip, the memory hurt. It scared me, but I had to fight it.
Second Sense went off and I turned around, my body moving before thinking, I pushed Sir Nighteye to the side, getting gut-punched on the side. I fell on the ground, coughing up blood. "Hakamada!" Mirio called out for me, getting held back by a hero who had come closer. I tried getting up but Second Sense went off, I gasped and looked up to see the Nomu was gonna try to smoosh me, I put my arms in an x-shape, being forced down to the ground fully due to the force. Without the guards my arms would have been broken.
Now I was struggling to keep my arms up, grunting. Bubble Girl tried to get closer, I yelled out to her, "Don't get any closer! One of his arms are free! He could easily fling you away don't try it!" Thankfully, she listened to me and didn't get any closer. But after what happened next it was obvious Mirio had not been paying attention.
The Nomu tried using his free arm to smash my head into the ground, but Mirio tried punching him before he could... It had no affect, and he got punched, flinging him a few feet, I gritted my teeth, "Dammit Mirio!" I yelled, losing focus as I look behind me.
I gasp realizing my mistake, groaning in pain as I'm smashed into the ground, and then thrown into a building. I quickly jumped out of the way before it could cause more damage, landing back outside I was pulled behind someone, I looked up and realized it was Sir Nighteye, "Thank you, Hakamada." He says looking forward with his back facing me.
I hum, turning to look at the scene. Something hit me, 'Wait, Hosu. Hero Killer. The Ingenium attack. Nomu... Damned Iida! That idiot!'
I turned around and yelled, "I'm sorry but I need to go! It's serious I'll explain later!" Before they could say anything I sprint off, jumping up and swinging around the city looking for Iida. "Dammit Iida! Your such a fucking Idiot!" I yelled to myself as I swung with speed. I searched through the urban areas, remembering the Hero Killer attacked where there weren't many. I swung through the alleys hurriedly.
I felt a buzz in my pocket, "Huh?" I pulled my phone out to see a message from Midoriya, I grit my teeth seeing there was an address not far at all from where I was. I put my phone back, and took a single left into an alleyway, I gasped seeing Iida on the ground bleeding, along with another hero, Native, and Midoriya standing in front of Iida, standing off against the Hero Killer.
Iida was yelling at Midoriya, "Listen to me, stand down! Run away! I told you this had nothing to do with you!" I decided to stay quiet. I was a few several feet behind the Hero Killer, I crouched on a thread I had created and watched from above, "If you really believe that, then why are you trying to become a hero in the first place?!" Midoriya scolded.
After watching the first attack Midoriya did, Stain licked his sword, and Midoriya stopped moving, I stopped myself from making any noise.
Stain started walking away from him, and towards Iida, "You're not powerful enough, it's not that you predicted my movements, you just left my field of vision, and maneuvered so that you'd be able to get in a clean shot. But I saw through you're plan, there are countless false heroes around here who are all talk, but I think your worthy of staying alive. Different from these two," He raised his sword, ready to strike Iida for the last time. But... it was like thin air snatched it away with precision. Me.
Once I had the sword in my hand I turned it into liquid metal, engraving it into the wall so it was useless to him.
"Who are you?" Stain asked, not moving from beside Iida, I hummed, in a stare-off with the Hero Killer, I stood up from my crouch, balancing on the thread so I didn't fall 3 stories.
"I suppose, Deadly Denim," I replied, glancing at Midoriya who was now under me, but looking up at me with wide eyes, I looked back at Stain, staying quiet as we stared at each other. He clicked his teeth, glare wavering slightly no one could see it, "Aren't you going to attack me? Why are you so silent? What's with that face? Respond weirdo."
I shrugged, jumping down to a thread that was a little below me, balancing perfectly, "You don't have a plan to beat me," I tilt my head, "Why's that?"
"I see no point in fighting you, you should stay out of this," Stain responds, going to pull out his other sword, I stole it again and did the same process. "Well, I can't just let you do that," I respond.
He clicked his teeth and ran towards me, "Fine, you asked for it little girl," He was quick to get close, I jumped off my threads and into the air, dodging his attempt to stab me, I swung back down and kicked him square on the face, sending him flying.
I landed back on the ground in front of Midoriya. Crouching and my hands touching the cement ready to attack. I whispered to Midoriya, "So you put the dots together too?"
"Yeah...- Hold on, how long were you up there...?" He asked, the familiar tone of scared making me chuckle, "Long enough."
Stain turned away from me, sprinting towards Iida, pulling out a knife, I only did the same process, and he stopped trying to sprint towards Iida, stopping but not turning back to me. His hands close into a hard fists. "You're just going to keep doing that aren't you? It's annoying."
"So?" I wiped the dried blood off my mouth from earlier, my body still aching.
"I'll just have to take care of you first," He turned around and sprinted towards me with speed, getting behind me and putting a knife to my neck before I could move away, I stayed still, a shadow over my eyes, "You really want to kill a 13-year-old?"
Stain clicked his teeth again, "Your not worth killing anyway, it's better if you stay alive," after he said that I turned around and kicked his stomach, backbending so I would get cut by the knife when he went flying. I hopped a few feet further away, to put some distance between us. I gasped feeling a weight on my shoulder, I look and realize that a knife is stuck to me, but I didn't feel any pain... huh?
I pull it out with a clink. Realizing my support gear saved me, I smiled and turned it into medal liquid, molding it into the wall. "How in the...-?!" Stain seemed pissed. Realizing I had gear all over my body, he seemed stuck on what to do, "You're starting to really get on my nerves, brat..."
"H-hakamada... Get out!" I heard Iida from behind. I roll my eyes, "Shut it, four eyes. This is your fucking fault anyway." I heard Iida groan. Second Sense went off and I ducked, dodging fire that Stain barely dodged himself. It came from behind me, "I was hoping you'd dodge, Hakamada," I heard a calm non-chalent voice from behind me, I looked behind me and saw Todoroki, I hummed and nodded.
"He only has one knife left, I destroyed the others," I filled him in, "Right," He responded, "Let's make this quick then."
"More of you? So many disruptions today..." Stain mumbled, and just like that Todoroki and Stain started brawling. While I defended Midoriya, Iida and Native who were still defenseless. When Stain tried getting to Native, Midoriya appeared and attacked Stain into the wall.
We ended up figuring out Stain's quirk. Which helped. A little later we had a plan, Midoriya would distract, Todoroki defending from behind, and me defending the two others.
"Three against one, this won't be easy," Stain mumbled.
I watched as Midoriya and Todoroki faced off against Stain, I heard groaning from behind me and turned to see Iida struggling to get up, "Iida, you're getting your feeling back?"
"Y-yes..."
"Good," I turn back to the scene, "Try to defend Native if necessary, I need to step in," I sprinted into action, jumping and landing on Stain, my feet landing on his chest, pushing him away from Todoroki to which was about to lose his arm. Pinning Stain to the ground, he threw me off him and into a wall, I grunted and coughed up blood, "Oh c'mon, I didn't throw you that hard!" Stain said standing up, I shook my head wiping my mouth, "Let's just say you aren't my first fight today."
Stain charged at me, only to get smacked in the face by an incredible and fast force, Iida. He had kicked Stain away from me, "Damn, you kids are so annoying."
"Not as annoying as you!" I complained, sprinting forward at him, "Let's get this over with!" I jumped into the air, using threads out of thin air and charging them at him, not realizing something. Before my threads could reach him, something speared into my neck, I tried screaming in pain but to no avail as I cough up blood. I look back at Stain and realize his position... His arm was outstretched. He had just thrown a knife to my neck.
He looked slightly surprised himself, "I was not aiming for your neck, dammit."
"Hakamada!" Midoriya screamed at the top of his lungs, dismayed to see his best friend in such a state. My body fell and was soon sliding down something cold, Todoroki's ice. I was laid next to Native, Todoroki pulled the knife out of my neck, and I gagged in discomfort at the blood boiling in my neck up my throat, I was covered in blood as of now. Todoroki covered my neck in ice, panicked and unsure what to do.
As that held he searched for anything to change it out with, he paused looking up at me, "Your threads! Stop the bleeding!"
He removed the ice and I did my best to stop the bleeding, not doing much though. I gagged and slumped as I threw up blood, my shoulders shaking as I gasped for air, Todoroki turned around standing in front of me, "We need to hurry Midoriya!"
"Right..." Iida said he and Midoriya ended up finishing Stain off.
Native could move again, and had a handkerchief on him, wrapping my neck tightly, "Can you breathe? At least a little?" I hum weakly, I stand up, still coughing up blood.
Todoroki started dragging Stain tied up in rope, Native carrying me and Iida carrying Midoriya. And heroes started appearing, 'A little late are we?' I thought, my throat too filled to speak. But I was pissed.
"Can you walk?" A hero asked Midoriya, "If you prop me up," He responded, "And you?" He asked Todoroki, "Only minor injuries. Hakamada is to be concerned about though," They all turned to me, my chin resting on Natives shoulder and my mouth leaking blood. The familiar irony tasted in my mouth and down my throat.
Iida approached us, "You guys," He bowed, "You were all hurt, because of me. I'm truly sorry, I was just so angry. I couldn't... see anything else. Hakamada... I'm so sorry... you dearly hurt yourself trying to finish what I started, I'm sorry..."
Second Sense went off, "Get down!" I heard someone yell, I turned and saw Nomu with wings charging at Midoriya from behind him, I cursed myself. My neck might've been messed up but my legs still worked, I forced myself off of Native and pushed Midoriya out of the way. I coughed up blood when the Nomu grabbed me with its claws, suddenly the Nomu stopped flying, and we went down. My vision was blurring. I heard a muffled voice, and a big bang as we hit the ground, sliding.
"You must all be purged," I heard, I shakily raised my head, and my eyes widened when I realized what had just happened. The hero killer had just saved me. "Everything I do is to create a stronger society."
Everyone was frozen, not able to move. The stain was holding me down, not that I could get up but I was still trying. Groaning and grunting in pain. Stain stood up, letting me go, I sat up, relying heavily on my arms. His mask fell off and everyone froze again as he began ranting. He suddenly stopped, dropping his knife, quiet and still. I soon passed out.
