"i'm issei, nice to meet you, y/n." his voice was low, but slightly raspy. his tired gaze remained locked onto yours, it made your chest tighten.
you blink as he bows, quickly returning it. you both raise your heads. you stand fully, snapping out of your trance after a moment. "it's nice to meet you all as well. thank you for coming by and visiting!"
you feel your mom's hand gently rest on your shoulder as she nods in agreement to your words. "as she said, thank you for visiting. we're happy to already be getting to know our new neigbors!" the matsukawas nod, maintaining their polite smiles, but you can't help but notice how the older son's has faded slightly.
perhaps he didn't want to come. maybe his parents forced him - similar to how your parents had forced you to move to miyagi.
you mentally shook away the thought, trying to maintain a positive outlook. 'this isn't going to be that bad,' you thought to yourself, exhaling softly.
"oh yeah!" your father's voice interrupted your internal monologue. "y/n and issei will go to the same school, yes? i wonder if they will be in the same class also."
you feel your shoulders tense. 'right,' you thought, 'school.'

after a few more minutes of speaking with the matsukawa family, you return to your room, letting out an obnoxious sigh as you flop onto your bed, burying your face into the soft fabric of your comforter. you roll over onto your back, staring up at your ceiling.
you disconnect your headphones from your phone, opting to play your music aloud and letting your headphones charge.
you had gotten your school uniform already. you glance towards the outfit which was resting on your desk chair.
it was a light brown, mid thigh length skirt with a plaid pattern accompanied by a pair of black knee socks. there was a light blue colored button-up and white jacket which could be paired with an optional cream sweater vest.
you groan softly, shifting your gaze back towards the ceiling. you thought about issei, what he would be like at school compared to with his family. you wondered if you did actually have the same class as him.
