i open my eyes and see sunlight poking through the window onto my face. Demari is laying on my chest sleepy peacefully, i lay back down and hold her head.
I just up "OMFG" she wakes up and looks at me "what- what's wrong"
"WERE LATE FOR SCHOOL" i grab my phone and looked at the time . 11:04, "BRO WERE DUMB LATE"
"javi calm the hell down look outside, does it look like a school would be open today" i look out the window and it's so much snow idk if it's even safe to walk. "school close today my heart" she says while putting the cover back over her head.
"oh" i start to giggle at how much i was over reacting, i look at my notifications and i had 7 new messages from darrien this morning, all asking where i'm at who i'm with what i'm doing. One text from my mom telling me to be safe and have fun.
"you gone get back in bed or sit on your phone the whole time?" damari pulls the cover off her head to ask me.
i put my phone back on the dresser and pull the covers off her head and sit by her head. I pull her head over on to my lap and she lays there while i rub her head. "so when we go back to school how you gone act towards me?" she asked looking up at me.
"hmm good question maybe i'll be a tad bit nicer"
she giggles and gets up. "where are you going?" i asked. "to the bathroom" she points.
she left her phone beside me on the bed but it was still locked. i looked at it, 57 new messages from shay. shay is a bisexual girl that goes to our school. I didn't know demari talked to shay......she comes back out the bathroom and sits next to me on the bed.
"so you fuck with shay?" i questioned her. "who the hell told you that" she looked me in confusion.
"i mean she over here blowing you up" i point to her phone and she grabs it looking at it then turns it back off. "See what it was, we was in a talking stage i guess you can say and she has the nerve to go to a party and fuck onna dude so i cut her off after finding out and she gone lie and say she didn't and they lying. Now everyday she beg and beg on my line for me to take her back but i promise ion going for it."
"damn who told you" i asked because i'm nosey ofc. "my bsf zuri, she was with the dj crew that night and she took a video of her dancing on the dude then going up the stairs with him"
"yo nah that's why i don't even mess with those bisexual girls" i comment , "nah fr" she agrees.
"i was thinking about dying my hair over the break but i never did" , "what color were you going to dye it ?" i asked touching her hair.
"blonde" she smiles. "i can help you with that, when you want it done" she looks at me "like today or sometime this week before school opens back up?"
"yuh we can do that, you already got the dye and shi?" she nods point towards it on her top shelf.
"Before you do it though i do want to get my last photos with my black hair"
"why do you look so pale in this photo?" "during the winter i get that way because it's so cold, why do you ask so many questions?" she says "umm cause i can" i roll my eyes. "well stay ya ass down there with that attitude" she moves to the foot of the bed.
"whatever tf" i say as the room goes quiet. "are you just going to stay down there all day?" i asked her.
"yuh". "well i'm hungry" i tell her. "now i got to feed ya ass lemme see if my mom or grandma up cooking breakfast" she gets up and walks out the room.
i look around more now that it's day. The room fits her emo ass nonchalant vibe she brings, it's kinda sexy.
she comes back in the room "cmon" she tells me. "Where?" "my grandma cooked breakfast let's eat , i'm just gone say your a friend from school which is true" she tells me as i walk past her.
i'm so nervous what do i say or do or- "hiiiiiii baby" her grandmother says pulling me a seat out. "sit down sit down for i can fix you a plate." i sit down next to demari on the counter, her mom walks in , she looks like she has work soon so she grabs her plate to go. "heyyy" i say "hii" back nervously. "are you mari gf, you are so gorgeous i love your hair" she tells me with a big smile. "no i'm just a friend from school" i say smiling. "awwwh she needs a pretty girl like you in her life" demari smacks her lips. her mom grabs the plate and kisses demari and her mothers cheek goodbye and walks out the door. "bye bye maris gf have a good day baby". "she do the most, thank you grandma" demari grandma puts our plates in front of us, "y'all eat up now untill your nice and full".
The food was so good , i haven't had a good home cook meal in a while , as i was eating demari says "slow down before you lose a tooth or some" i side eye her and keep eating. After we got finish eating we said bye to her grandma and went back to her room.
It was warm and she closed the curtains for it can give a darkish vibe. It felt really nice, "look at your phone we go back to school tmr so i guess we can dye my hair by tonight before you go home"
"yeah" i say, i enjoy her company and the way she makes me feel i kind of don't even want to go home i love it here and i love being around her, never thought i would say that about demari.
"and also by the way you don't have to keep calling me by my full name just call me dee or mari".
"okay demari i'll call you angel baby" pointing to the record on her wall. "do you know that song she asked?. "OMG YES I LOVE OLD MUSIC" she smiles "me to, so that's my new name? angel baby." i nod "so what's mine?"
"since you so pretty ,i'll be pretty girl"
i blush looking into her low eyes "i like that"
she smiles with her nice white pretty straight teeth. "you want to start with the dye now?" she asked i get up shaking my head yes.
we grab the products and head for the bathroom. we start the long process of dying her hair trying my best not to mess up. i accidentally scratch her face close to her eyebrow. "shit i'm sorry" i say rubbing it down with some water.
"it's okay boo" she says with her low raspy voice. After the long hours and process of doing it we finally got her full head of hair dyed. "how do you like it i ask?" she looks at her self "shit fire, lemme take a few fics" she pulls her phone out and sits on the toilet.
"they finna turn up for this one" she says while posting it. "...mhhh who?" i ask.
"wym" she says "like who is they and turn up for what" i say with confused face, "aw i meant like ig and shit"
why am i getting jealous and it's showing....i look at the time and it's 7:31. "damn it's almost time for me to go home" i say looking at her.
"i think the snow done dryed up enough for to drive you" she says looking out her bathroom window. "ight let me grab my stuff" i walk out the bathroom i to my room grabbing my things i brought over, i grab the project for safe keeping's ofc.
she comes in the room and grabs the car keys to her bmw "you can just keep those clothes" she tells me while giggling. "Aye i got some for you" she takes her necklace off and gives it to me, it's a gold necklace with a Jesus piece nothing to major just something small. "I love gold necklaces , thank you" i say with a big smile on my face , she kisses my lips "your wlc"
we walk outside the car and she opens the door for me and then she runs to get in. "damn it's mad cold out there" i say while trying to warm up by the heater. "swear" she backs out her drive way and onto the road.
The ride back on was so peaceful i just feel so warm and good when i'm with her it's something i never felt before. As she pulls into my drive way i'm half sleep but i sit up when we're there. She kisses me and we hug for a while before i walk into the house.
"bye pretty girl, bye my angel baby" we both smile and giggle at each other as i get out and run up to my door step going into my home. she waited for me to get into the house before she pulled off.
as soon as i get in the house before i could even take another step "javi who was that and why you got a Shrek shirt on" darrien comes out the kitchen asking.
"first off i told you it was a friend and 2 off that's my business" i say running up the stairs. "DONT THINK YOU GROWN NOW" he yells.
I walk into my room and jumps on my bed smiling so hard my cheeks hurt. I look at my phone and texts mari.

OUUUUUU I NEVER SMILED SO HARD IN MY LIFE. i put my phone on the charger and lay my head down ready to fall asleep.
