As Tamaki ran away to the foyer, you gave the older Higashikata a not-so-reassuring thumbs up. "Don't worry, Norisuke. We planned for this. Your daughter will be fine."
"W-What...?"
You once again dropped the fake cheery attitude, letting the man know you were being serious. "She'll be okay. I promise."
You jogged over to the front door. Tamaki was working quickly, having just finished cutting out Gappy's liver. So, you kicked the glass door, making it slam into Tamaki's side. He stumbled back, falling onto his bum.
"Not so cocky now, are you?" Kars had a smug look on his face as he leaned on your shoulder.
"You...!" Tamaki clenched his fist, crumpling the bill in his hand. "I can still kill Josefumi!"
"Right, right. We're not saying you're incapable or anything." You were mocking him now, mostly just buying some time for Hato's arrival. "But your execution could use some work."
"Perhaps we're being too biased." Kars continued. "I think a fresh pair of eyes could do us some good."
A large bubble containing Hato popped next to you. Gappy had collected her with some bubbles and sent her out of the house through the chimney. Tears ran down her face as she stood up.
"Hato?!" Tamaki was even more taken aback. "How? You're outside?!" He couldn't believe that two people had managed to escape his Stand.
Before he could say anything else, Hato silently raised a leg. The heel of her shoe extended rapidly, piercing through the glass and Tamaki's throat.
"Gah!" He coughed up some blood. "H...Hato..." His gaze went to the still melted Gappy. "Josefumi, you stupid brat! You sent her out of my range so she could attack me!"
"That's not... entirely true." Despite his best efforts, Gappy hadn't been able to convince Hato of Tamaki's misdeeds. "She never stopped believing in you."
"Yes." Kars confirmed his words. "She only brought me in with her because I lied about not wanting to hurt you."
Hato momentarily retracted her heel before doing a quick series of kicks, filling her ex-boyfriend's body with a few more holes.
He rolled into the living room, trying to escape her range. "Hato! I just wanted to find that Josuke guy! I was going to turn your family back to normal this whole time! I really do love you from the bottom of my heart!" As if those words would at all justify what he'd done.
Hato maintained her silence and walked up the side of the house, Dio style. Her Stand followed right behind her.
As she did this, you returned to your spot by the windows so you could continue to keep an eye on the enemy.
"Is there anyone else working with you? No... I suppose not." You answered your own question. "You'd have called them over to help you, right? Unless you really were just that full of yourself." You leaned closer to the window, giving your best intimidating look.
"If any of your comrades had shown up..." Josuke decided to add on. "This purge of yours might've been a success. But you're alone. You should leave this house as fast as you can or Hato will defeat you."
Despite everything that had happened to him, Tamaki still believed he'd be able to deal with the situation if it were only Hato. He viewed you as the bigger threat. "Why did you let Yotsuyu live?" If he could figure that out, maybe he'd have a chance of surviving himself.
You placed your hands on your hips, listening to the clacking of heels on the roof. "We made a deal. A bargain of sorts."
Kars noticed a twinge of unease in the enemy's eyes and decided to expand upon it. "In exchange for telling us about the Rokakaka and the rest of your little scheme, we let him live."
Tamaki's eyes widened. "You don't mean...?"
"How do you think we found Aisho so quickly?" You played along with Kars' story.
Clutching his head, Tamaki slumped onto the couch. Could Yotsuyu really have sold them out?
It was all lies, of course, but he didn't need to know that. "It hurts, doesn't it." You placed a hand over your heart. "To be betrayed by someone you thought you could trust. Imagine how Hato feels right now."
"Right... Hato..." He looked up. This was no time for moping around. "She can't be targeting me from above, can she?" Now he was mumbling to himself. "Does she think she can win? She thinks she's fully out of my range, huh?" He rushed over to a basket of stuff next to the couch and dug out a lighter. "Here it is..."
As he started pulling on Norisuke, you banged a hand against window to reclaim his attention. "I wouldn't do that if I were you..."
He had the audacity to smile as he started slathering Norisuke with more fingerprints. The second he lit the lighter, a pair of birds flew in from the entryway. Dodging the man's attempts to swat them away, they aimed right for Tamaki's eyes, pecking and clawing them out. The man could only scream.
Soap bubbles wafted out from his pocket where the cut up liver was, revealing his location to Hato. He promptly received two heels to the head. The injured parts crumbled away.
The woman's onslaught ceased and everyone returned to normal. But Tamaki wasn't dead yet and was now trying to escape.
As he blindly stumbled out the front door, you stuck a foot out, making him trip and fall flat on his face. He started crawling instead, blood smearing on the pavement as he slowly inched himself forward. He was pleading and begging between each breath. You let him do so for a while, half curious to see how far he could actually make it.
Once he approached the gate of the Higashikata estate, you moved in front of him and stepped on his hand.
"Wait!" He cried. "There's still more you want to know, right?! You could team up with me, too!"
You noticed Gappy running out of the house after you. "Do you care if we kill him?"
Gappy slowed down, realizing the enemy was at your feet. He was holding the paper Yasuho had sent through the fax machine. "Nah. You can kill him."
All hope left Tamaki's face.
Kars crouched down and grabbed the man by the jaw. "An eye for an eye, as they say." He squeezed until it was reduced to rubble. As the rest of the enemy's body crumbled apart, the Ultimate Being dusted off his hands.
A few people who happened to be walking by glanced over but dismissed the remains as a broken statue.
"Well, I guess we're done here, now." You started to head back towards the mansion. You'd call someone to clean up the mess. "Oh, right." You turned around. "Could I have my phone back, Gappy?"
"Ah, yeah." He pulled it out of his pocket and returned it to you as he walked alongside you to the house. "I can't believe I really know who I am now. I'm... Josefumi Kujo and Yoshikage Kira."
You clapped him on the back. "Yup. Despite everything that happened, we did get to learn a lot about your past." You stopped again to examine his torso. You remembered his liver had been cut out before, but now he was entirely healed. "I guess even your wounds heal once you're no longer under the effect of Vitamin C..."
You could see the Higashikata family hugging in the entryway. Despite Norisuke's arms being cut off before, they were now intact. Not that you were complaining. It would save a trip to the hospital.
You and Gappy joined the others inside, who were now crying tears of relief.
There was a long period of silence before Norisuke opened his eyes. "Wait..." Something was missing. "Where's Joshu?"
The group hug slowly came to an end as the family began spreading out around the house calling Joshu's name.
"Someone found him!" Norisuke shouted a few minutes later, getting everyone to stop. "He was seen climbing out of a sewer grate not that far from here. He's fine." He grabbed his car keys off the counter. "Don't do anything crazy while I'm gone. We can talk about this more when I get back."
Norisuke was heading to the garage door but bumped into you in the hallway. "Oh, (Y/N)! Tamaki... you took care of him, right?" He never wanted to deal with that man again.
"Yeah. He's dead."
He let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you." He surprised you with a sudden hug. "Not just for that, but... that whole Stand battle. Just..." He pulled back. "I'm glad you're here."
"No problem." It really wasn't that big of a deal to you. You smiled faintly. "But I do expect a melon parfait as compensation."
He laughed boisterously. "Of course, of course. As long as you're staying here, consider them on the house. Now," He opened the garage door and gave a quick wave. "I shouldn't be gone long. Make sure the house doesn't burn down!" He got into his car and drove away.
You stood there for a little bit before heading back into the living room. Daiya and Hato were sitting next to each other on the couch as Nijimura was already starting to clean the mess that had been created during the fight.
Gappy had resorted to using the Higashikata's house phone to tell Yasuho about everything that went down.
"Do you want to sit with us, (Y/N)?" Daiya gave a pat to the empty spot next to her on the sofa.
"Sure." You at down. "Oh, and Hato, I'm sorry about what happened with your boyfriend."
She smiled bitterly, her eyes still red from crying so much. "It's fine... At least I'll never have to see him again."
Daiya leaned her head on her sister's shoulder. "I'm sure you'll find someone way better than him! You deserve the best!"
"Aw, you're so sweet, Daiya!" Hato squished her little sister's face. "But anyone would probably be better the Kan-Chan. Like... who was that other guy, (Y/N)? He's your Stand, right?" She had thought Kars looked pretty attractive while helping fight Tamaki.
"You can't date him." You would say anyone in the void room was off limits.
Hato pouted. "You're no fun..."
"I mean, I guess I could bring him out." They all knew you had a Stand at this point, so you didn't see much harm in it.
Kars took form beside you, casually combing a hand through his perfect hair. "It seems I have an audience."
Hato covered her mouth in awe. "You could really be a model or something, y'know. She reached out, leaning over Daiya so she could feel Kars' hair. "Maybe for a hair commercial...?"
"Is he really that good looking?" Daiya honestly couldn't tell.
Kars calmly moved Hato's hand away from his hair. "I would appreciate it if you stopped that."
"Oh, right. Sorry." Hato gave an awkward laugh and pulled away.
Kars instinctually draped his arm around your shoulder as he reclined into the couch. "You're planning to meet Diego tonight, correct?" He hadn't been as surprised to learn about the new person infected with vampirism.
"And for the next few nights, probably." At least until he felt more comfortable with his new situation.
"Dio isn't all too happy about it." And the man's dismay only amused the Ultimate Being. "I think he fears you might replace him."
"He can sulk all he wants. He's just jealous I like Diego more than him." You saw no reason to pretend otherwise. "Obviously, I'm still going to search for a way to fix his scarf, but it's not exactly my main priority."
"Diego? Who's Diego?" Hato perked up again. "I thought you weren't seeing someone, (Y/N)?"
"I'm not actually-"
The garage door swung open and a soggy Joshu clambered in. He was already annoyed, but he went livid when he saw some guy sitting all close to you.
Joshu approached the Ultimate Being.
