The Fall semester had officially begun at UCONN. Jasmine felt like she was dying. Class after class, assignment after assignment all within the first few weeks had been taking a toll on her.
Luckily her favorite class was next, Psychology. It wasn't her favorite just because she sat next to a certain blonde girl, but because she loved learning about the mind.
Hearing about all the factors to people's behaviors intrigued Jasmine. It always had. She wanted to know everything behind a person. Why someone thinks the way they do. How someone's upbringing can affect them. Jasmine loved it and wanted to learn it all.
Having Paige in her class wasn't bad either. The pair sat next to each other in the lecture hall every day. Sharing and comparing notes gave the girls an excuse to be in close proximity to each other.
They sat close enough that Paige could smell the sweet vanilla perfume Jasmine wore. She loved the scent the brunette exuded. Paige noticed that the same eye crinkles that Jasmine had when she smiled appeared when she focused.
Paige wasn't the only person noticing things about the other. Jasmine could notice when Paige didn't understand what the professor was talking about. Most of the time the younger girl understood what was being taught so she would lean in and briefly explain it to Paige. Paige would maintain eye contact with the girl the entire time she would explain things to her. The older girl loved how close Jasmine was when she would help her.
Paige believed she could sit there all day with Jasmine that close to her. She could stare into her warm eyes for days.
Jasmine was on her way to the lecture hall where the two had class as she noticed the girl she was just thinking about.
"Hi Paigey." Jasmine said, causing the blonde girl to turn around. Jasmine wrapped her arms around the girl's neck as Paige slipped her arms around her waist.
"I brought you a cookie." Paige said as she held a bag out to Jasmine. "I went to the cafè before I came here and thought you'd like one."
"Aww thank you Paige." Jasmine said as she accepted the bag. Jasmine pulled the girl into another hug as a thank you.
The two then walked into the room and took their seats. Jasmine pulled out a notebook as Paige pulled out her computer, the two having different preferences for note taking.
The two began taking down the notes as the professor read off his power point.
"Do you get what he's saying?" Paige asked, leaning close to Jasmine's ear.
"Honestly not really this time. Here just copy my notes." Jasmine said as she turned her body to face Paige and slid her notebook over to Paige. Slowly scooting herself closer to Paige subconsciously.
"Thanks Princess." Paige said, looking over at the girl.
"Anytime babe." Jasmine said. Not realizing the nickname that came out of her mouth until a small smile appeared on Paige's face.
The two sat inches apart for the entirety of the class. Jasmine found herself turning to look at Paige. Eyes tracing her features as she typed out her notes. Looking down at her hands moving swiftly on the keyboard.
"Whatchu staring at, Princess Jasmine?" Paige asked, turning to meet Jasmine's eyes.
"Nothing. You're just pretty." Jasmine said honestly to Paige. Turning her head to refocus on her notes.
After class the pair decided to go for lunch. Paige drove them to a small Mexican restaurant in town.
Small talk about classes and sports consumed the two as they ate their food.
"Did you guys have that team sleepover yet?" Paige asked in between bites of her food.
"Yeah, it wasn't bad at all. I was still nervous the whole time though. The girls are all really nice, I hung around with Hailey most of the time though." Jasmine said.
"See I told you it wouldn't be bad. No one can not like Princess Jasmine." Paige said while laughing. "Have you met anyone you haven't liked yet?"
"Yeah there's this one girl in my Psych class. She's so annoying and always copies my notes." Jasmine said in a sarcastic tone.
"Shut up, you love me and you know it!" Paige said while scoffing.
"Maybe if you bring me another cookie tomorrow." Jasmine said, holding back a smile.
"Fine." Paige said while rolling her eyes.
The two continued to eat their food and talk before they were interrupted by Jasmine's phone ringing.
"Hey babe what's up?" Jasmine said after answering the phone.
"I'm at lunch with Paige right now, what about you?" She asked the person on the other side of the call.
"Oh really? Yeah I'll see if I can go. I don't think I have too much homework." She responded to an invitation to something. Paige was waiting for her to finish the phone call and find out what her plans were.
"Okay yeah I'll tell her. See you later Hailey." Jasmine said as she finally hung up the phone.
"What's up with Hailey?" Paige asked.
"Nothing much, one of the girls is throwing a party tonight though. She said we should go and you can invite some friends too." Jasmine said hoping the blonde in front of her would say yes.
"Sounds like fun. Lemme text Nika and Azzi." Paige said as she pulled out her phone to text her roommates.
Nika and Azzi almost immediately responded with yeses to the party.
"They said they're game." Paige told Jasmine.
"Okay then, I'm game too." Jasmine said eagerly.
"Me too." Paige said. Motioning to the waitress to get the bill so the pair could head out.
After arguing back and forth Jasmine finally let Paige cover the bill as long as she promised to let Jasmine cover the next one.
