SHIMLA, HIMACHAL PRADESH..
She woke up rubbing her eyes as sun rays fell over her face. Looking at the clock, she sighed removing the blanket off her body.
Being a medical intern is not easy and this could be known by seeing the dark circles under her eyes.
Yes, it was her dream to become a doctor, what could be more amazing than the feeling of being able to treat someone? saving someone's life and making them stand on their feet is her dream.
Dhriti Sharma is interning from one of the best hospitals in Shimla as a physiotherapist. Her schedule is hectic, indeed but she loves her work and worships it.
She got off the bed and did her morning routine.
Dhriti is a name which is popular among her friend circle. She is the eye candy of her friends. Her carefree and caring nature attract people especially boys but she has some rules already set and not having a boyfriend till she becomes a physiotherapist is one of them.
"DHRITI." She heard her mom yelling from downstairs, her yelling makes her more anxious even if she is not late. She grabbed her bag and ran downstairs.
"Good morning, Papa." She greeted her father sweetly and kissed him on the cheeks.
It's her routine to give morning kisses to her parents. They are her life, her parents especially her father as he never let her feel as if she is their daughter.
He always treats her like his son. Having no siblings, sometimes things do get tough but she has learnt handling them now.
"Morning Maa." She then kissed her mother but earned a glare from her, rolling her eyes she let out a sigh.
"I am not late!" She stated taking her seat beside her father.
"What's for breakfast?" Dhriti asked her Dheeraj, her father.
He gave her a bored look and by looking at his expression she already knew the breakfast was not going to be tasty.
"What?" She asked in whisper.
"Karela." Her mother said taking both of them by suprise.
"Why?" She asked.
"His blood pressure was high last night?" Riva, her mother complained.
"What? And you are telling me now." Dhriti looked at her parents disappointingly.
Her father has bp issues as well as diabetes but sometimes he doesn't take them seriously and then regrets later.
"You were tired. I...I didn't want to disturb you." Riva answered.
"Seriously?" She scoffed shaking her head.
"I will meet Deepak Uncle on my way. Take very good care of him." She said grabbing an apple.
"Atleast have your breakfast." Dheeraj shouted but she refused saying she was getting late.

She reached the hospital by 9:00 am and looked at the gate with so many hopes in her eyes, she couldn't believe she was actually living her dreams.
She never wanted to study medical by giving huge donation. She knew her parents would never be able to afford it and thus, she did her best and studied day and night.
The weather was pleasant. The sun was not too hot as it was almost autumn.
"Dhriti." She looked back and found her best friend Akshat.
A smile formed on her lips seeing him walking towards her. Her best buddy since kindergarten.
"Hey, doll!" He called affectionately holding her hand as they started walking inside the building.
He calls her doll since childhood only. She used to and still looks like a cute innocent doll.
"You are early?" She asked.
"Got up early so.." He replied shrugging his shoulders.
She chuckled shaking her head.
He is a lazy ass. Just because of her he decided to study medical otherwise he had no goal.
Akshat is a good looking guy with an impressive height and looks. He is just two months older than Dhriti. Hazel brown eyes, black curly locks and a muscular body, he is everything a girl desires in a man.
"I can't believe that we are finally here." He exclaimed dreamily.
It's true, she herself feels as if all of this is a dream. A dream she always wished to be true.
"You are right." She said sighing softly.
"Where are Risha and Shaan?" Akshat asked looking around the almost vacant hall.
Risha and Shaan are their college mates. They both met them on the very first day of their college and these four instantly got along.
"They must be making out in some corner." He muttered mischievously and she punched his shoulder.
Both have been dating since high school and they never fail to show their PDA wherever they go.
"Let's go and make our attendance." Dhriti suggested dragging him with her to the reception.
They made their attendance and then joined their seniors.
After few minutes Risha joined them and indeed she and Shaan were making out as her face was flushed and she was fixing her hair.
Risha is no doubt a hot, sexy and a cute girl. She is taller than Dhriti and is blessed with beautiful honey brown skin. Shaan is handsome and well mannered guy.
Akshat gave her a playful look teasing her through his eyes.
"Where?" Dhriti asked wiping her lipgloss which had smeared on the corner of her mouth.
"Washroom" she whispered blushing.
Dhriti just shook her head fighting back a chuckle.

The day was going well and she got so many things to learn from Dr. Chawla, who is the senior physiotherapist of the hospital. An old man who is very polite and a generous person.
He decided to visit the interns and share some of his experiences with them.
She was so scared and nervous when his eyes stopped at her and he asked her to describe herself and the reason she chose to be a physiotherapist.
She did fumble a bit but chose her words wisely, nevertheless.
Dhriti along with other interns was going to the canteen when a voice stopped her.
"Miss, Sharma." The old man called making her eyes widen.
"Yes, sir" she quickly answered walking towards him, his face held a sincere smile.
"Miss. Sharma, we have a patient here. She is quite old and her knees got fractured a month ago so she has a problem with walking." he stopped and gestured towards the woman, she was really old and was looking quite sad, she was sitting on a wheelchair "I want you to help her with exercises" he finished giving her the old lady's reports.
She held the reports with shaky hands. She looked at him with uncertainty in her eyes. It was the first time she was actually going to attend a patient.
"You will." He assured offering her a genuine smile.
She felt a sense of relief hearing his words. As if he had read her thoughts.
"Okay, sir. Thank you." She said before making her way towards the patients ward.
"Hello, ma'am!" she knelt in front of the lady and looked at her closely.
The lady was really old maybe in her late seventies or early eighties. Her wrinkled face was pale and her small grey eyes were lifeless. Her grey hair was so thin and it was tied into a small braid.
The old lady looked at her and a small smile made it's way to her lips. She found the young girl beautiful and innocent.
"You are just like my Tiya." she said touching her hair.
Dhriti's eyebrows scrunched in confusion. Who is Tiya? She thought.
"She is my grand daughter" the old lady answered her question having a sad look on her face.
"What happened?" Dhriti asked holding her hands.
"They left me" she answered, tears welled up in her eyes.
Dhriti understood the woman was talking about her family members. She felt disgusted and angry.
"They left me in the old age home" the woman whispered weakly.
"It's okay ma'm, I am here okay." She said wiping her tears.
The woman raised her shaky hand and kept it on Dhriti's head and patted it lightly.
Dhriti smiled feeling emotional.
"I think we should go to the garden, what you say?" She asked cheerfully.
The woman instantly agreed.
She held the handle of her wheelchair and made her way outside. On her way, she saw Akshat who gave her a thumbs up making her smile.
"So, ma'am we will do the exercises here." She said stopping the wheelchair under a big tree, the birds were chirping making a sweet noise, the sun was shining brightly but it wasn't too hot as it was already September.
The flowers were the most beautiful thing in the garden, all different kinds of flowers were planted there with seasonal flowers as well.
"Okay! I will get better right?" The old woman asked her with so much expectation in her voice that it made her heart melt.
Her grandparents died when she was a child. She never really got their love and she has only blurred memories of their presence.
"Yes, ma'am." Dhriti said smiling and the woman's face lit up instantly.
She knelt before her and moved her ankles lightly, making sure to not hurt her in the process. The old woman also told her that she can't feel her knees.
Dhriti read her reports and got to know that her knees were badly crushed in that accident so it will take time for them to heal.
She started moving her ankles slowly trying her best to not cause any pain or discomfort to her patient. Her hands were slightly shivering but she was determined to make this woman stand on her legs soon.
.
A man was watching the mesmerising view in front of him without blinking. Clad in a black suit, hair set perfectly and frame tall enough to intimidate any person.
A glint was there in his eyes. He didn't realise when the corner of his lips curved into a small, almost invisible smile hearing the giggling sounds.
He was not meant to stop here and look at a girl who was talking to an old lady. He was just here to make a call and leave.
The call was supposed to be quick. Yet, he was here standing for like twenty minutes looking at the same girl which he assumed to be a doctor.
No girl or woman ever affected him. They never caught his attention even the interactions with the opposite gender were limited.
Then what was so special about this simple looking girl?
He felt mesmerised seeing the soft glow on her face. The way her long brown locks were dancing on her back, the way she was smiling at the old lady.
Everything seemed so natural about her.
He was not supposed to see this. Heck, he was not supposed to be here at the first place.
His one and only friend got into an accident this morning and so he was here to visit him, he was so annoyed because of his stupid friend but now he was not regretting his decision of visiting this hospital at all.
His heart skipped a beat when she started going inside with the old woman, but he couldn't stop her not right now.
Her figure disappeared from his sight leaving a longing feeling inside him.
Suddenly something snapped him out of the world which has nothing to offer other than pain. He reminded himself that he has no time for all this shit.
All these things are not meant for him.
Sighing heavily, he went inside to meet his friend as he came here to do this thing only but got distracted by her.
"So, you finally came" Harsh, his friend said the moment he saw him entering inside the room, he rolled his eyes annoyingly.
"You just got a minor injury on your head" he said looking at the cut on his head it was so minor just a scratch but being an overdramatic his friend made a big issue of this matter.
"It's hurting Abhi" his friend said making a fake hurt face he sighed looking at his dramatic expressions.
Abhimanyu Singh, the name which can make any person tremble in fear. The man, desired by women at the same time feared by them. The man, envied by men at the same time respected by them.
One of the richest billionaires of the world. Emotions are something he stopped feeling years ago.
Affection is something he doesn't know how to show. The man with a cold heart and a stoic face felt something for the first time today.
He felt his rapid heartbeats inside his chest. He felt mesmerised for the first time in his entire life, that too by a girl.
It's just a matter of time before he realises this intense emotion.
