Luna's POV

"So, what has changed Ms October?"

He asked.

His grip on my waist was firm and unwavering, yet not too tight and his eyes felt like they were staring into my soul. I felt like at this point he could even see through the contacts in my eyes.

I was in turmoil when it came to what Sin Grey was making me feel right now. I was on fire and oddly enough, it was an addicting fire as I couldn't look away from it but at the same time I knew I had to get away from this fire or it was gonna burn me to ashes.

Butterflies were an understatement for what I was feeling in my stomach.
I tried to collect words and say something but I just stood there holding his gaze.

Finally deciding upon the fact that I needed to get the hell away from this man I tried to move myself away from him and when I thought I had, he once again pulled me by my waist into him.

In that motion, his hand twisted on the shower diverter and just like that water came cascading down onto both of us.

Only then did I realise that Sin and I had somehow ended up in his rather large, shower.

We were both drenched in less than two seconds.

Through the wet fabric of my clothes, Sin's hand around my waist burned hotter due to my uniform now clinging to my skin.

My mouth went dry as I looked at him.

His black hair was now wet and stuck to some parts of his face. The droplets of water ran from his hair to and through his thick lashes, down his face and all the way to his full lips. He was a sight for sore eyes indeed and the fact that he was currently dripping wet wasn't making it any better.

I then looked back up to his eyes for the umpteenth time now and I found him staring right back at me and I knew that he'd seen me running my eyes across his face.

My hands itched to touch his gorgeous face but I held myself back and placed them on his chest instead and I felt him tense.

For a moment we just stood there under the water staring at each other.

Eye to eye.

Grey on green.

Right then and there I saw the warning signs daring me to enter in his eyes and that's when I knew that Sin Grey was a temptation, one that was exceptionally hard to resist. Beautiful but dangerous, both literally and figaratively.

I didn't answer his question, answering would be a death sentence and I inwardly hoped that his eyes wouldn't find the answer in my own.

Physically there was no more distance between me and him but somehow I felt Sin pull me even closer to him and this time he brought his face dangerously close to mine. I could feel tingles on my lips at the thought of his touching mine and I could swear that my eyes closed for a moment at that sensation.

Opening them again, I met Grey's burning ones and for millisecond I could see wanting in them. That wanting was gone just as fast but his gaze remained fixed on me.

My breathing started to get ragged.

What was happening to me? Why was I feeling like this?

I was supposed to terrified of this man, which I was but what was this other feeling that came along with it.

I began feeling like Sin's eye were peeling off every single one of my layers and I was starting to feel uneasy, I felt like I was gonna crack and I couldn't afford that.

Just then the door burst open.

"Oh god.. I'm so sorry Sir." Said dawn as she paused midway from opening the door looking away.

I swear my heart almost jumped out of my mouth.

Sin immediately let go of me and stood right in front of me with his large tall frame, preventing me from being seen.

Once he saw that Dawn was stood outside of the bathroom door, he walked towards the door to her.

I immediately turned off the shower.

Sin's water drenched self looked through the small space that Dawn had left in the door and addressed her.

"Should I now start teaching lessons on knocking?" He questioned in an authoritive tone.

"No sir, I apologise it was mistake." Dawn responded from the other side of the door.

"Did you need something?"

"No sir, I came here to bring in fresh towels." Dawn said.

"Put them on the bed." Sin stated.

After that I heard some movement which I assumed was Dawn doing as she was told and soon after silence followed the sound of a door closing, which I assumed was Sin's bedroom door.

Sin then closed his bathroom door.

He then turned and faced my direction.

Before he could say anything though, his phone rang.

Sin walked to the sink cabinet and picked up his phone, answering it.

Knowing that I had no better chance than this one, I quickly excused myself and left Sin's room.

I hurriedly walked to my room and closed the door, pressing my back to it.

What the hell just happened?

My brain was in a frenzy. I'm supposed to be scared of him and yes, yes I am that's why I'm trying by all means to avoid him at all costs but for some reason, there was something else that made me want to stay away from him and that feeling was what had my body heat up and heart pound in my chest right now.

What Sin was making me feel wasn't good at all, especially considering how deep inside a part of me liked it.

No no, I needed to stay away from him.

........

After a good two hours in my room I'd changed my wet clothes and gotten myself dry.

I tried to push whatever feelings that were awakened by the shower encounter I had with Sin, to the farthest part of my head.

His question though, didn't leave my head so easily.

It had me pacing around in my bathroom thinking.

So what has changed Ms October?

He knew that something has changed, better yet, he knew that I'd seen something that I shouldn't have. Was it something he'd concluded upon due to my behaviour this morning or was it due to something else.

He couldn't have been merely guessing.

Was it possible that he knew that I saw him kill one of the men that were with him in the warehouse last night.

I felt a cold shiver run through me at that thought. I mean that's impossible? How'd he know? If he did know, I know for a fact that he wouldn't still have me here.

So what then what else could he have meant when he said something's changed?

My train of thought had been interrupted when I heard my phone buzz in my pocket.

I jolted as it startled me.

I took it out of my pocket and when I saw the caller ID I felt my blood run cold.

Shit!

......

Sin's POV

I saw it in her eyes earlier. She knew something. Something about me that changed her entire perception of me.

More or less to say she saw something.

That wasn't the only thing that I saw in those eyes though. I saw secrets, threatening to spill out. I saw fear and turmoil but most importantly, what I saw most vividly where the emotions that danced like a storm in her eyes, I saw desire, desire masked by restraint.

She was feeling something, she knew she was feeling something upon me touching her and she knew just as much as I did that whatever it is that she was feeling, she wasn't supposed to.

The restraint and self control I saw in her was proof of it.

We were pulling each other like heavy metal to a magnet. I myself didn't like what was happening, it was too foreign but just like her, I was failing miserably as what was pulling me to her was like a drug.

Addicting.

Knock! Knock!

The door to my bedroom sounded cutting my trail of thought.

"Come in."

"Sir, there's a lady in the living room who says she's here to see you." one of the maids said entering my room.

"I'll be there." I stated, dismissing her.

A lady, here to see me?

My mind wondered as to who the woman might be.

I'd already changed from the wet clothes I was sporting after being in the shower with Gail.

It was around noon, so I put on some black denim, black dress shoes and a crisp white shirt, undoing the first three buttons on it.

I made my way out of my room and down the stairs.

The penthouse was rather quiet today. Mostly due to some of the staff that wasn't present, I'd assumed that maybe Carina had given them a day off or something, nonetheless that was none of my business.

Reaching the bottom of the stairs I entered the living area of my penthouse and I was greeted by a lady with light olive skin, she sported jet black hair but I could study her just yet as she had her back to me and was looking around and admiring her surroundings.

She was clearly not aware of my presence.

Once I was a noticeable distance from her, I clreaed my throat.

She jolted for a millisecond but soon composed herself as she turned around and faced me, a bright smile gracing her face.

"Mr Grey." She extended her hand.

I studied her for a moment. She had straight pitch black hair that reached a short distance below her shoulders. Brown pupils graced her eyes and she wore bright red lipstick which showed her pearly white teeth as she smiled at me waiting for my reply.

"You must be?" I replied questioning without returning her handshake. I could see her smile threatening to falter a little at that, clearly displeased. She retracted her hand.

"I'm Rita, Rita Orifa." She stated staring me dead in the eyes but I could feel that she was a bit uneasy but she hid it so perfectly.

"Doesn't ring a bell miss." I let out.

"What brings you to my house." I then asked.

"Well Sir, I don't expect you to know me anyway but after today, I guarantee that you won't forget me."

. . .

Luna's POV

"You threw it out of the window!?" Stacy asked in desbilief as she gave me a look of utter shock.

"What did you expect me to do?" Answer it?" I asked her as I paced around the room.

"Yes L, that's exactly what you were supposed to do." She told me.

Honestly she was right. I was supposed to answer the phone, especially since CK had thought that Stacy was dead and me ignoring his phone calls could possibly give way to some suspicion.

I had panicked though and inadvertently, yes, I threw the ringing phone out my bathroom window a while ago when he'd called me.

"Now what Luna, what if he starts suspecting that something is up." I started seeing the fear build in Stacey's eyes as she talked and I felt like shit.

"Well. Look don't fret. I'll handle this okay. I know I haven't done my best to protect you previously but I promise that I won't let CK get to you again." I told my friend as I placed my hands on hers for reassurance.

She needed that but in all honesty, I had no idea what to do from here. This entire thing had began to turn to shit and I was stuck in a crossfire.

I started wishing that I'd refused CK's deal a few months back and rather he'd ended me right then and there because the way things looked now, no matter which way this thing was gonna end, it was for certain that I'd come out in nothing but a body bag.

I gulped.

As I looked at Stacey's eyes, I made a promise to myself that no matter the outcome and no matter what happens to me, Stacy had to make it out of this. After all she was never part of this from the beginning yet she got hurt.
She just suffered the consequence of being friends with me.

I let out a breath as I let go of Stacy's hands and started towards one of my bedside tables. Opening it, I took out the necklace that CK had sent to me when he'd captured her. Our friendship necklace, one of the ones we'd gotten together. Unfortunately I wasn't sporting mine anymore as I'd left it at my old flat along with everything that comprised of Luna Winters.

As it rested in my palm, I traced it slightly with my palm before walking back to Stacy.

She was eyeing my every movement, curious as to what I was about to do.

I stood once again in front of her.

"Here." I said as I unclasped the back of the necklace and placed it around her neck.

I clipped the back of the necklace and adjusted it to sit properly on her chest.

Stacy tidied the necklace around her neck and smiled to herself as she looked up at me with a glow in her face.

"You had it L? I thought I'd lost it." She said as she looked at me in disbelief.

"CK sent it to me the day he kidnapped you." I told her.

I could feel her tense a bit but she downplayed it with a smile. Though she didn't say it, I knew that talking about her kidnapping still didn't sit well with her.

She studied me for a second before her eyes rested on my chest and lingering, confusion masked her face.

"I still have it Stace, I just couldn't bring it along with me but trust me it's very safe where it is." I said to her as I realised that she'd seen that I wasn't wearing the necklace that was matching with hers.

I ran my hand on the one that rested on my neck instead of it.

'Angelo' The silver necklace read as I looked down at it.

I'd even forgotten that I was wearing that necklace not in that way though. I'd rarely took it off ever since I got it. It was like wearing it was a second nature to me and only God knows why I'd gotten this attached to this article of jewellery. Especially considering that I still didn't know who it was from.

"Well, might I say that I'm actually quite jealous of whoever it is that gave you the necklace that you're wearing right now they've clearly taken my place." She said teasingly with a smile.

"Oh please, you know that could never happen." I told her in a small laugh.

"It looks pretty pricey, care to share who gave it to you.?" Stacey asked raising her eyebrows.

"Well then the shop must be really good at making their jewellery look authentic because it didn't cost me much at all." I lied straight through my teeth. Making sure it was believable.

Stacy studied me for a second a second before buying into it.

"Next time, you should take me to that jeweler, I'd love to get a necklace that pretty." She said chirpily as she made her way to my bathroom.

"Sure thing." I said in a smile as she disappeared into the bathroom.

I lied about the necklace to Stacy and although I did it perfectly, I still didn't know why. Why couldn't I just tell her that I'd gotten it as a gift from someone that I myself still didn't know.

Where was the harm in that. For some reason though, I couldn't bring myself to tell her that truth.

"Gail."

My head spun quicker than lighting as I heard someone call to me from my door.

Looking in the person's direction, I saw one of the penthouse staff standing at my door.

My heart was beating like crazy. Considering that Stacy was here just a second ago and I wondered if she'd saw her.

"Yeah?" I replied as I studied her face when she entered, trying to see any signs that she saw or heard anything.

"Mr Grey has a guest and he's requested for you to serve them in his study." The maid said normally and if I was accurate she didn't show anything suspicious.

"I'll be there." I told her and she left and I hoped that she'd really not heard or seen Stacy.

Walking towards the bathroom, I slightly knocked on the closed door.

"I'm going out Stace, I've been called for some work." I said loud enough for her to hear me through the water that was sounding as I assumed she was taking a shower.

As I made my way out my room, I braced myself once more as I was in No position to meet Sin's eyes let alone be around him but then until I figured out my next game plan, I had no choice but to continue being what I was, his maid.

Regardless of how I felt about it.

. . .

Sin's POV

Listen Miss Orifa, we've already wasted much time, it would be in your best interest for you to tell me as to what exactly brings you to my place. " I told the lady sitting opposite to me on my desk in the study.

The woman had asked for me and her to speak in private after our greeting each other in the living room. She'd indeed peeked a bit at my curiosity after what she told me.

'Well Sir, I don't expect you to know me anyway but after today, I guarantee that you won't forget me.'

The way she'd said those words was like she was making a promise. There was a stubbornness in those words much like I've seen many times before and now I just needed to know if my hunch was correct.

I watched the woman, Rita Orifa, I recall as she once again studied her sorroundindigs. She looked around the study as if wanting to find something before she looked back at me and delivered that smile from earlier. A smile that felt and looked friendly and warm but I knew better than to not know that there was something behind it.

"Well Sir, I'm Rita as I've stated before and we'll I'm here today on some rumours that I'm sure you yourself have heard circulating." She said sternly.

Bullseye.

I knew it from the way she presented herself, the way she talked and specially that fake smile of hers.

"Ah, another one. " I let out with a crooked smile and slightly dark chuckle.

"I'm sorry?" She asked a little confused.

"Yes, usually journalists don't even make it past the gate of this building but clearly you're one of the sly ones."

"Owing to that you're already here, what bogus story do you have on me this time." I let out coolly as I slightly leaned back on my chair, making sure to hold my gaze firm on her.

At first she was taken back by my words and her face told it clearly but she quickly collected herself and began speaking once more.

"Bogus is what it definitely won't be when it's on the front page of every newspaper and displayed on every single tabloid." She retorted back, in what was a very strong attempt at matching the cold and deadly glare I gave her.

There was a spark in her eyes, a lot of determination. Clearly she was of the new ones and she had no idea who she was dealing with.

"Is it?" I asked, raising my eyebrows in excitement at the clear challenge she was giving me.

"Do enlighten me then, because I'm intrigued."

"Stacey Turner and Luna Winters." She let out.

For a brief moment it was if I'd heard or seen those names before but I didn't know from where right now.

My curiosity was confirmed when she took a folder out of a bag that she was carrying and placed it on the table. She paged it a few times before she rested on a page that had two pictures on it.

She then flipped the folder and faced it in my direction, pointing at the photos.

"These two girls." She stated and my eyes instantly drifted to the photographs and that's when it clicked.

Those were the two girls from Queens that have been missing for roughly months now. The same girls that that pesky lieutenant Baker and officer Holmes had come in search for in the penthouse days ago.

My eyes instantly rested on the one girl out of the two. She had beautiful brown locks for hair and warm chocolate brown eyes. She was strikingly similar to Miss October, dangerously similar. If it weren't for the change in eye color and difference in hair length, they'd be the exact same person.

Luna Winters was the girls name as written below her picture on this folder.

My lingering clearly was noticed by this Rita woman and a smirk played on her lips.

I quickly put my focus and gaze back to her as icy as before.

"I'm waiting for you to continue." I told her, playing off whatever thoughts were just in my head.

I could sense slight irritation from her.

"Well Mr Grey, these two seventeen year old girls have been missing for a few months now and no one has any lead on them."

Seventeen!

I was in disbelief but I did not make the mistake if letting this woman realise that. If what was going on in my head right now was somewhat true then this would be a bigger problem than I could s comprehend.

"Corect me if I'm wrong Miss Journalist but I believe that a case that has no leads despite such a decent amount of time passing must be well on its way to being closed." I told her.

"It is Sir but not just yet. If you also haven't noticed, I don't plan on letting it close especially since it might just have been solved."

"Good then but care to let me know where exactly I'm involved in this?" I asked.

"That is the best question I've heard all day." she let out a smile as she now also leaned back into her chair.

Clearly confident enough to feel comfortable.

I replied with silence as I waited for her to proceed with speaking.

"Well the narrative I'm running with here is that you Mr Grey, know exactly where these girls are, more specifically one of them."She started.

"Luna Winters to be more precise."

She waited for me to react or give here an answer but she was displeased when I didn't and instead gave her a rather bored expression.

She nonetheless carried on.

"Luna Winters or should I say Gail October? The Gail October who lives and works as a maid in this penthouse of yours." She finally ended firmly.

"My my, quite the story. If I cared enough I'd consider giving a round of applause. I told her nonchalantly as I adjusted a wrist watch I'd slipped on when we entered the study and looked at the time.

"You're wasting my time here Miss, unless you have something that you can actually validate, I suggest you leave." I told her coldly.

Though her words were definitely shifting gears in my head.

She was now irritated.

"Bullshit!" She finally snapped clearly infuriated at my well played out clueless Ness.

I couldn't help but slightly smile at my cracking her.

"You know very well what I'm talking about and you know very well that you kidnapped that girl and have her working here against her will. God knows what other disgusting things you make her do here under the narrative of having her here as your maid not to mention whatever it is that you've done to her friend Stacy Turner. " She spat.

"What is it exactly that you are accusing me of Miss Orifa." I asked her in the same stoic tone I had before in contrast to her irritated one.

"Considering my research and findings on you and your family background Mr Grey, it's not not an accusation but a fact. It is a fact that you're trafficking these girls."

I was bewildered but I didn't show it. To be honest, I'd expected anything but a human trafficking accusation. I was no saint, even God himself can vouch for me there but human trafficking was what I would consider the lowest of blows for anyone not just me.

I darlky chuckled at how this story was indeed bogus.

"Well if you know so much about this family, shouldn't you know better than to throw such allegations our way?" I questioned.

"These are nothing close to allegations and maybe you can change her appearance here and there and give her a new identity but I know that that woman Gail October is Luna Winters." She said once again sementing what she'd previously said.

Honestly I was starting to get pissed off. Not at what she was accusing me of because but at the fact that her words starting sounding like the truth. Not the trafficking ones but the ones about Gail October being a fake identity.

The resemblance between Miss October and this Luna girl made those words heavier to digest.

Though Gail had debunked the possibility of her being the seventeen year old girl when the officers questioned her about it the other day, I still couldn't bring myself to let it sink in.

It was silent, rather very silent for a brief moment after what the journalist had said.

Before anyone could say anything the was a knock on the door.

. . . .

Luna's POV

Screw my life.

I hated it very much right now as I made my way towards Sin's study with a tray of juice and two glasses.

Why didn't he get someone else to serve him, I was just juice anyone could of sent it to him.

I wanted away from that man, he was making me feel things that I didn't understand and I do not like not understanding my feelings.

Reaching the study, I knocked on the door.

According to the maid who'd came to fetch me, Sin had a guest and that's why he asked me to bring some refreshments.

Despite not wanting to seen my boss at all, I was rather curious as to who the guest is that was here

When I heard the words "enter" I opened the door and entered before closing it again.

I walked towards the table where Sin Grey sat in all his glory, body angled at my direction and his white crisp shirt complimenting his upper body physique.
Snap out of it! I told myself.

Sin's eyes shot to me for the quickest of seconds before focusing on the girl in front of him once again.

As the woman sat facing Grey, I could see nothing but her head of straight black her at first.

"Your refreshments sir." I said as I gestured to the tray in my hands.

"Place them on the table Miss October." He said with his cold voice and I made my way to the table that sat between Grey and the mistery guest.

As I placed the tray on the table, I could now clearly see the woman in front of me.

Well I'll be damned.

The look the girl gave to me briefly as she saw that I'd recognised her was one also of recognition and it wasn't friendly.

It was Mac's new girlfriend. Atleast that's what I'd figured after I caught them together the last time I saw Mac. Considering the time in between I'd assumed they ended up dating.

It did sting a bit but honestly it came down on me that it was just common modern day karma what had happened to me. I deserved it actually. After all I was the one who cheated on Mac first, he just wasn't fortunate enough to find out. In a way we were gonna end up breaking up either way due to the wrong I did by cheating on him but I'd come to accept our separation was moreover a good thing as that removed another person I had to keep lying to about my identity from my list.

I hadn't caught the girls name but looking at her she was beautiful I mean I get why Mac liked her, she also had that supermodel esque like Kylie and Tory.

Who knows, maybe she was better for him than my lying self.

I looked back and forth between Sin and this woman and although you couldn't see it, you could feel that the air between them was thick.

If anything that just made me nothing but more curious as to what this woman was doing here and most importantly what she'd come here to tell Sin that made him give her a look as hard and chilli as the one he did.

I assumed Sin caught onto my lingering because he soon dismissed me.

"Thank you Miss October." He said and I nodded, not looking him in the eyes.

I started towards the door but Sin's voice stopped me.

"Actually, Miss Orifa here would like a glass, wouldn't she?" Sin stated stopping me and asking the woman at the same time.

"Sure. I'd like my drink with ice please." Mac's girlfriend better yet Ms Orifa replied with a tone I'd think was sort of forced if you'd asked me.

"Would you kindly pour some for her" He added.

Nodding, I made my way to the table again and took one of the glasses on the tray. I then went with it to the small bar Sin had in his study to get some ice.

As I did that my heart was racing and I didn't know why. This girl being here didn't leave me at ease it was as if she was here to wreak nothing but havoc.

What possible havoc though.

Sin's phone rang and he picked it up, walked towards the window of the study, slightly away from the table where he was seated with the Orifa girl. He then began talking.

I opened the ice bucket and began placing some ice into the glass in my hand.

What felt like a chipped piece of ice shot straight to my face and I'd sworn it had gotten into my eyes. My eye feeling irritated, I used a free hand of mine to rub my left eye in hopes of getting relief.

I felt something pop out of it but I brushed it off as my vision was okay, a sigh of relief at that whatever that had gotten into my eye was now gone and didn't do any damage.

Closing the ice bucket, I felt the urge to look straight in front of me and I was met with a mirror.

The mirror didn't shock me though, what shocked me was what I saw in the mirror.

Holy shit!

.........

Aouthors Note

Oh oh, what do you think Gail saw that made her so shocked???
