Clive's day started with a kiss on the ass.
And that's not a metaphorical phrase, it's meant in the literal way. You see, For some reason, Shachi found his way sleeping beside Penguin on his bunk. Penguin, for all we know, was probably having a dream about riding ponies into the beautiful sunset
All was well until he decided to kick Shachi away while mumbling "Ponies for the win~". The poor redhead fell down with his but landing right on top of Clive's peaceful sleeping face.
"Phuwe---!!" The blond sat up almost immediately, shoving Shachi away from him---which somehow woke up the rest of the crew with a shower of grumbles and complaints.
"Pipe it down.."
"Urrgh, I think I'm gonna puke.."
"I think it's a hangover."
"No, shit."
"Ponies are cute~~"
"Would you shut up with that stupid pony song?"
The crew got up and went straight to the bathroom. Clive swore they all looked like zombies. Some were even confused as to why they were sleeping on the floor, on top of each other like some pile of garbage.
Shachi stood up stretched, then pulled the blanket that was below the sleeping Penguin which caused him to roll over and fall down.
"Bleegh." Shachi stuck out his tongue and ran before Penguin could figure out who did it.
The blond stood up and rolled his sleeping bag before storing it away and looked at the bathroom.
How..?
"The bathroom is big enough to cover all of us, if that's what you're thinking."
Clive turned around and saw Natsu leaning against the wall with a pillow behind his head, a few strands of his red hair standing up.
"Are you guys always like this?" He asked as he heard the sound of someone throwing up.
Natsu shrugged, sleep still visible in his eyes. "We're used to it. Anyway, the most peaceful place here in the sub is the captain and Sora's room."
"Oh.."
The redhead stood up and headed to the bathroom, but not before turning around to look at Clive. "You wanna wash up first or are you gonna head to the galley?"
Clive was about to answer when another sound of someone puking was heard.
"Uh.. galley." He replied, to which the pirate nodded.
"Do you know where it is? It's just—"
"Around 3 rooms before this one, yeah, I know."
Natsu smiled. "Good."
Upon entering the mess hall, Clive was met with a delicious aroma.
That smells good..
He saw the back of Sora while she was preparing the last dish for breakfast. The blond immediately pictured a smiling brunette while turning around and giving him a gentle smile while saying 'good morning' as imaginary flowers would appear---
"You stink of alcohol."
Clive's imagination was smashed to pieces by an imaginary hammer as Sora turned around with an irritated face.
"Don't tell me you didn't wash?" She asked while scrunching her nose.
The blond stammered. "Uh, that's..."
Sora fully turned her body around and headed to the dining table, placing the last plate of food on top while taking her gloves and apron off.
"Sit down. Breakfast will start soon." She said and walked to the fridge, taking out a piece of bread and began munching on it.
Clive focused his attention on the food. "By the way," He said, causing the brunette to look at him. "Is it fine with your captain that I'm here?"
Sora took another bite before replying, "There's a 50/50 chance. We'll know the moment he sees you, let's just wait."
The blond wasn't too reassured about that..
It didn't take too long for the rest of the crew to arrive. As soon as everybody was seated, they had already started eating. Not too long after that, Law showed up.
"Mornin' cap'n!" Greeted Shachi. Hyper as always. Other members also greeted the captain a good morning, who only nodded in response.
Clive's eyes followed Law as he sat at the end of the table, still unaware that there was a guest eating with them.
The pirate captain took a sip of his morning coffee and placed it down. His eyes scanned the table until it landed on a particular food.
Except that it was too far away.
Clive noticed the surgeon's gaze staying at the onigiri and reached out to pass the plate to him.
"Here you go." He said.
Law nodded at him and took a piece, bringing it up to his lips and opening his mouth----but paused before he could take a bite. The raven haired lowered the onigiri and closed his mouth before looking back at Clive, who was smiling at him.
Law then turned to his onigiri and closed his eyes for a few seconds. He opened them and stared back at the blond.
"What are you doing here?"
"Took you long enough." Sora muttered and finished her bread.
Clive smiled at Law and nodded in his direction. "Sorry for the intrusion. I slept here yesterday." He explained what happened to the captain, who stayed silent in the whole duration.
The blond was worried that he might be kicked out, but before Law could pass his judgement(lol), Sora took a chair, dragged it with her across the room and plopped it beside the captain.
"Don't throw him away, Law." She said. "He's my client."
The captain pinched the bridge of his nose while inwardly sighing. "I wasn't planning to anyway. Just tell me when you're inviting a stranger next time."
"Oh, I will." The girl said and reached out for an onigiri and started eating.
They continued their meal until Penguin spoke up. "By the way, Sora-san, how are you acquainted with Clive?"
Said brunette was too busy feeding Bepo more fish that she didn't notice everyone's attention at her until the bear told her. Sora looked at Clive who stared back at her, silently telling her to keep their 'contract' a secret.
The girl didn't seem to get his message and thought that the blond said it was okay to tell the crew---so she did.
"I'm acting as this guy's bodyguard, for now."
Silence filled the whole room. Everybody stopped eating, and Clive had his jaw dropped.
"Hey—" The blond said but was interrupted by Shachi.
"Body—what? Is he in danger or something?"
"Is Clive a really important person, then?" Penguin added.
"Sora," Clive said through gritted teeth and lightly kicked the girl's foot under the table to get her to look at him, which she did. "You're not supposed to say that."
It took a few seconds for the swordswoman to realize. "Oh." She then turned to the rest. "Uh..forget what I said."
The blond face palmed so hard it was heard throughout the whole room.
"Do you, perhaps..need help with that bodyguard job of yours?"
All heads turned to look at the redhead who was grinning slightly. "I can help."
It was silent once again until both Shachi and Penguin raised their arms like children in a classroom calling for the teacher. "Me too!/Me too!" They both said before looking at each other and giving a high five.
Clive looked in disbelief at them. For real, the both of them were like a pair of mischievous brats—wait, scratch that, they are a pair of mischievous brats.
His train of thoughts were disrupted when Sora spoke up,
"You can't."
Obviously, her statement was followed by a series of whines.
"Eh~??"
"But why~?"
"It's troublesome." The girl snapped, standing up and taking a few empty plates before heading to the sink. "I don't want to hear any more complaints coming from the lot of you. Got it?"
There were a few mumbles of small 'okay's until Sora repeated her question.
"Okay." They both said while looking dejected. Meanwhile, Law was just munching away on his onigiris, not giving a damn at all.
He got tired of all of their antics and just wanted to spend the day in his room, secluded from the world and these idiots.
As soon as breakfast was done, Clive thanked the crew and Law for letting him stay for the night and for giving him breakfast. He then excused himself and told Sora that he'll be at the company building.
The brunette nodded and after giving a few cautions like "Don't trip and die," (which the blond was so grateful for), he then exited the sub.
Sora waited until Clive's footsteps couldn't be heard anymore. She then stalked back to the table and put both hands on top, causing all to look at her.
"I want you all to listen to me."
••
"Are you serious?"
Sora turned to look at Law. The rest of the crew had already left after listening to Sora earlier.
"Why would I be joking around?" She replied, leaning back on the chair. "This is serious."
The surgeon slightly tilted his head before breaking out into a smirk. "Ho~, never thought that you of all people would ask for something like that."
Sora scoffed at him "Hey, did you forget? I said that we'd only proceed with that plan when the situation calls for."
"I heard you." Law said and leaned forward, resting both arms on the table and looking directly at Sora. "But you know, I was thinking," He started.
The girl had this kind of mocked expression on her face. "Oh, really? So you really are capable of thinking after all."
The captain ignored her and continued. "Even though you accepted to be his bodyguard, you are still a girl." Sora replaced her mocked expression with a kind of baffled face.
Law stood up, ruffled the girl's hair before he walked pass her. "Be careful."
Upon hearing the door close, Sora looked at the direction where the surgeon left. She raised her hand and brought it up to her head, touching the spot where Law ruffled it.
Clicking her tongue, she frowned. "'Girl', my ass.. is he telling me that girls can't be bodyguards? Psh."
Sora stood up and grabbed a piece of bread from the kitchen counter. With a determined face, she took a bite.
"I'll show that surgeon my skills."
While you're here munching that bread away, the burrito might be fighting for his life somewhere
I know, I'm heading to the company building after this, sheesh.
•••
"Miss Sora?"
Said girl turned around and saw a familiar-looking secretary.
"Zylen-sama has been expecting you. He's in his office." She said, "He instructed me to guide you there, please follow---"
"Ah," Sora nodded. "No need to worry, I know where it is."
The woman bowed. "Then, I shall excuse myself. Please head there as soon as you can."
The brunette turned around and looked for the landmark she chose in identifying the hallway that led to Clive's office.
"There it is." She muttered upon spotting the cactus plant in a vase. Sora walked towards the direction when someone bumped into her.
"I'm sorry." The man said while looking down and continued to walk.
The swordswoman had just enough time to catch a glimpse of the man's scar on his face. Upon reflex, her hand rested upon her katana and rubbed it gently while looking at the spot the man had been standing while he was apologizing.
She looked behind her but no longer saw the man anymore.
"..."
Sora continued walking and reached the office.
"Osu {Hey}." Clive raised his hand. He was sitting on a swivel chair while facing a large desk. The girl raised her hand in greeting and sat on the sofa in front of him.
The blond stared in silence as Sora placed both legs on the armrest.
"The meeting is tonight, right?" She asked while crossing both arms behind her head and looking at the ceiling.
Clive turned his attention back on the papers he was signing. "Yup. Around 8:00 pm."
The room was quiet for a while and Sora closed her eyes. "Hey, Zen."
The blond didn't move his gaze on the papers but replied, "What is it?"
"I was thinking. Do you, perhaps..have any siblings?"
"Yeah." He wasted no second in answering.
"How many?"
"Well, I have two older brothers.. I'm the youngest." He said, proceeding to the next papers and inwardly groaning. How many documents are there left?
"..Older.." Sora trailed off and opened her eyes while frowning. Still, her gaze was on the ceiling. "If you're the youngest, why did the chairman decide to give you the position?"
Clive froze for a moment but then continued signing.
"...Because I'm his biological son."
The girl moved her gaze on the blond. "Huh?"
Clive looked like he was debating in his mind. He closed his eyes and finally, he said, "My biological mother died right after I was born, and my dad remarried. She brought her two sons along so basically, even though they're older than me, they're my half-brothers."
It was silent after that. The blond gave Sora a few seconds to process everything. Clive opened his eyes and saw the girl staring straight at him.
She shifted and sat up straight. "..I have a.. hunch."
The blond stared at her with furrowed eyebrows. "Hunch?"
"I don't think those bastards are doing this of their own free will." She said which somehow caught Clive's interest. He remained quiet as Sora explained further.
"Someone else is pulling things behind the scenes, someone who doesn't want to get their own hands dirty." She finished, still looking at him.
".." For what seemed like eternity, the blond finally caught on to what she was saying. "..it's one of my brothers."
"Yes."
Clive sighed and leaned back in his chair, completely forgetting the stack of papers he was supposed to work on.
"Do you get along well with them?" Sora asked.
"..only with my eldest brother. As for the second one.." He frowned. "We're on bad terms with each other."
"Hm.." The brunette grabbed a pillow on the sofa and placed it on her lap while rubbing her chin. "Will the both of them be present at the meeting?"
"Of course." He looked at her. "What are you planning?"
"Nothing, really." Sora answered and leaned back. "Where will the meeting be held?"
"The building next to here."
The girl hummed and nodded at the papers on the desk. "And how long exactly will it take you to finish that?"
Clive pinched his nose. "Probably around noon..ugh, I'm tired."
Sora smiled at his reaction before it melted away.
In one way or another, something big will definitely happen tonight.
She stood up and adjusted the strap on her katana that held it to her waist. "I'll be back."
The blond merely gave a thumbs up as he was too busy signing the papers. Sora turned and exited the room.
She walked back to the main lobby and spotted one of the guards standing near the wall at the far end. The girl headed to him.
"Excuse me." She tapped on his shoulder. "Please guard director's office. Also, make sure to confirm anyone who enters his office whether they're safe."
He gave her a weird look. "Um, may I ask who you are?"
Sora resisted the urge to roll her eyes. "Just do what I tell you."
"But—"
"For kami's sake, I'm his guardian angel and rainbow ponies are coming to eat him for dinner later, so I need someone else to protect him. Satisfied?" She reasoned, tempted to yell at him and lightly pushed the guard to the direction of Clive's office.
The guard was reluctant, but after receiving a glare from the brunette, he decided that it was best to follow her for now.
Sora shook her head and made sure that the guard reached Clive's office before exiting the building.
•••
Sora placed the pair of binoculars down beside her feet. She checked her watch.
7:30 pm.
The brunette looked around her. She was currently on the roof of the building where the assembly meeting was to be held. The night sky was clearly visible from where she was standing. If it weren't for the problem she was facing right now she would've thought of spending a few more minutes here while staring at the sky and the beautiful scenery of the city.
Drop it. She thought. This isn't a dramatic emo scene.
She turned around and walked to the far end of the rooftop. Just a few meters was the roof of the building that belonged to Clive's family. She took a few steps backward and inhaled before sprinting and leaping off the building, landing on the roof of the next one.
Sora stood up and headed to a door, going downstairs. She was already sweating when she skidded to a halt in front of Clive's office. The guard from before was standing like a statute beside the door.
The girl nodded at him, still panting. "Thanks, you can leave now." The guard left and Sora went inside.
She saw Clive wearing a more formal attire than earlier morning and nodded in greeting. "Where have you been? I was worried." The blond asked upon turning around. He seemed to be talking to the two persons standing behind him.
"Uh," Her eyes darted to the two looking intently at her. "..preparation."
Clive raised a brow but eventually waved off the subject. "Anyway, these two were sent here by my father. He said they're my escorts."
"Hah?" This time, it was Sora's turn to raise her brow. "Escorts? I'm your escort."
"Exactly." He replied. "I was just telling them to go back."
The girl craned her neck to look at the two men properly. Instead of escorts, they looked like a pair of serial killers dressed in suits.
"Oi, you two." She called and jabbed a thumb behind her. "I've got this guy covered, so just go."
One of them walked forward. Just like the other one, he was wearing a black suit and an earphone on one of his ears (obviously). "I'm sorry, but we were ordered directly---"
"Didn't you hear me?" Sora interrupted. She walked forward and faced the man. "I said I'll escort him. Now go."
The man was about to protest more when he saw Sora's glower. He then gestured for his partner to follow him and together, they exited the room.
Both Clive and Sora watched as the two bowed and left. The blond saw the girl plopped herself on the sofa.
"Y'know, my heart just skipped a beat when you said you'll escort me."
The swordswoman saw the director grinning at her while she just scoffed. "You're so gross. Anyway, don't follow just anyone from now on. Don't trust too easily, too."
Clive stared at her before letting out a small smile. He then changed the topic. "So? How do I look?"
"With your eyes, dolt."
The blond sighed, still smiling and sat beside the girl. "No, seriously, what do you think of my outfit?" His smile widened. "Cool, huh?"
Sora took a look at his clothes. "Huh, nice coat you have there, how many ducks died for it?"
Clive pouted at her comment. "Psh, anyway, let's go. The meeting is about to start." He stood up followed by Sora and left the room.
"Where is Clive?"
"He's not here yet, sir."
"The meeting will be starting soon, hurry up and find him." The man said and turned around, walking over to his seat.
He looked around the large room. Several board members have started to become restless and complain.
"Where is the director? Isn't he coming?"
"It has been 30 minutes already!"
"Does he not plan on becoming the next chairman?"
The man sighed. Where is that idiot son of his?
In the back of the room, a man smirked as he put his elbows on the table and intertwined both hands while resting it on front of his face.
Hmph, he will never be able to come here..
However, it seems the heavens heard his thought and decided to be a jerk.
The murmurings inside the room hushed down when the door opened and a blond stepped in, followed by a brunette trailing behind.
The man's eyes widened.
What the----?!
"My apologies, everyone." Clive smiled and bowed while Sora stood right beside him, gazing around the room. "There were some unexpected guests, so I had to entertain them before coming here."
The numerous board members and other representatives from other investor companies murmured, concerns ranging from "Nevertheless, he kept us waiting here for 30 minutes," to "Who is that girl?"
Sora herself was busy looking around the room until she locked eyes with a certain man sitting at the far end. She didn't look away and continued to stare at him while he did the same.
It's the guy with the scar in the main lobby...
The said man was the one who looked away first and suddenly found his table interesting as he stared at it.
Several looked confused at the uninvited girl, especially with her katana clearly visible. Two of the many private guards present made their way to the swordswoman.
"Pardon me, ma'am," One of them said. "Weapons aren't allowed in here, and if you would please wait outside until the meeting ends, that would be greatly appreciated."
Clive noticed Sora look at them with a piercing stare and immediately leaned in to whisper. "I'll be fine here. He said to her. "You can wait outside for now."
The brunette looked like she wanted to argue but did otherwise. With a slight nod, she turned to the door but looked back at Clive who said to reassure her, "I'll give a signal if anything happens."
"What signal?"
"I'll imitate the scream of a terrified little girl."
Sora slightly smiled and nodded before turning around and leaving the room.
The blond then cleared his throat and clapped his hands once to catch all of their attention. "Anyway, I sincerely apologize for arriving late." He started. "At any rate, let us proceed with the meeting."
Sora leaned against the wall beside the door outside the room. While closing her eye, she made sure to strain her ears so that she can enter the moment she hears anything unusual-- like Clive's version of a loud girly scream.
Her mind then wandered off to what happened the moment the director and she left his office at the other building.
When Sora closed the door, she turned around to follow Clive but bumped into his back.
"Burrito, what gives?" She covered her nose but then sensed something wrong. The brunette looked at the sight and saw several men in suits surrounding them. The two who claimed to be the blond's escorts were among them.
Immediately, Sora grabbed Clive's wrist and pulled him behind her while her other hand unsheathed her katana.
"What's this? Men in black?" She asked in a mocked tone while giving each man a hard glare.
"Who ordered you to come here?" The blond questioned. Sora was surprised to hear him use such an authoritative and demanding voice. Never knew he was capable of that.
The men remained silent. The one in the middle gestured something to them but before anyone else could move, the girl raised the tip of her sword in front of the man's face. "Any funny business and you'll find your head rolling beside my feet."
He dropped both hands beside him. Sora narrowed her eyes and waited for a bit until she saw him smirk.
"Don't get too cocky, girl."
The rest of the men took out their guns and aimed at both of them. The brunette widened her eyes as their 'leader' also took out his pistol, pointing it directly between her eyes.
Everything happened by so fast that to the Sora, it seemed like a blur. The only clear thing to her was the voice of Clive yelling her name and pushing her aside as numerous gunshots rang out in her head, almost bursting her eardrums.
Before she knew it, she was standing back-to-back with the blond, holding her katana which was soaked in blood as Clive was gripping a gun he snatched from one of the men. The men in black were lying down on the ground and the guards had just arrived.
Talk about late and useless.
Sora let her arm hang down at her side and leaned against the director. "Thanks." She mumbled. If Clive didn't yell, push and help her, she would've been dead by now.
"No problem." He replied, turning around and gripping the girl by the shoulders, scanning her from head to toe. "You okay?"
Sora shook her head. "Yeah." She said and pointed at Clive's clothes. "But your clothes died."
The blond looked at his outfit which was soaked in blood before releasing a light chuckle, which surprised him. Who'd laugh when they'd just barely escaped death?
"Your clothes are also a mess." He commented. "We should change first, we're already late for the meeting."
He looked at the guards and told them to 'clean up the mess' without giving a proper explanation and pulled Sora back into the office. Clive locked the door and walked to the other door at the right wall of the office room.
"My cousin sometimes leaves clothes here, so you can use them for the time being." He called out from inside. Upon stepping back into the office, he saw Sora sitting down on the sofa while staring into space.
Eyebrows knitted together, he strode towards the girl and kneeled down in front of her.
"Hey." He said softly. The girl looked at him but her eyes hinted that she was thinking of other things. "Are you sure you're okay?"
Sora stared at Clive's gray orbs and said nothing for a few seconds.
"...I..was frozen." She said. "I felt like...something was holding me down." The brunette looked down. "...sorry."
The blond stared at the girl and reached out to pat her head. "You know, if it weren't for you, I would've been dead now."
Sora raised her head and managed to smile. "Huh? I was thinking about that too."
Clive smiled back. "Really? Guess I have a knack for reading minds." He heard the girl clicked her tongue.
"Anyway," He said, standing up and handing to her the change of clothes. "Don't worry much about what happened. You're not the only one should be protecting me... the both of us should watch each other's back."
Sora took the clothes and looked at the blond. "Are you gonna watch me change, burrito?"
Clive realized that he was still staring at her and waved his hands around while walking towards the other room. "No, of course not—I would never.. just tell me when you're done." He said and closed the door.
The brunette snorted and looked at the change of clothes. "Thanks, burrito guy."
Sora opened her eyes and let her hand rest on her sword.
I'm not gonna be frozen in shock again.
Clive watched as a representative from another company made his speech regarding their opinion about the president becoming the next chairman.
However, regardless of that, the blond was thinking about the men in black and started to subtly scan the whole room. He saw his second brother, Ian, sitting on a swivel chair not too far from him while folding his arms, not exactly looking all pleased. It was easy to spot him because of his silver hair which he inherited from his mom.
He then locked eyes with his eldest brother, Kane, who gave him a closed-eye smile and waved. Clive smiled back and nodded.
Sora said that one of them is behind those attacks...
Speaking about Sora, the blond then started thinking about her. Earlier, that girl looked really distressed about her being frozen in shock. Well, he couldn't exactly blame her..
She might be strong on the outside, but that doesn't mean that she's fearless of everything. That person has her own fears, too. She is just a girl, after all.
He thought before realizing something.
Girls can fight.
Clive remembered Sora' words when he 'indirectly insulted the women population'. He then managed a smile.
That's right.. girls can fight. I shouldn't look down on them---especially Sora.
He was snapped out his thoughts when the speaker finished giving his speech. The members clapped and waited for the next speaker to stand up. Clive then looked at the door, wondering if the girl was alright outside.
"Captain?" Natsu called out to Law. "You okay?"
The pirate captain nodded at him. "Yeah."
The whole crew (yes, whole) was waiting at the rooftop of the building where the meeting was. Following Sora's plan, they were on stand-by here and waiting until the brunette gave her signal.
"Are you worried about Sora?" The redhead questioned again. The rest of the crew were either talking or preparing themselves, getting excited for what's probably going to happen.
Law was standing near the edge of the building, staring at the city which emitted all sorts of lights while normal citizens were enjoying almost just anything. Well, this is the city of carnivals, so that's just appropriate.
"Don't worry about it!" Natsu exclaimed and patted the raven haired at the back. "You and I both know her, she'll be fine." He reassured when Law didn't give a reply.
Natsu then turned back and walked towards the rest, scolding them for being too care-free, which ended with Bepo being the one apologizing.
Law continued to stare at the city far below him. He had to admit, he was getting worried, after all, he figured that Sora is rarely the type who asks for help. The fact that she asked for their aid made the captain realize that that girl wasn't really flawless after all.
Well, worrying about the well-being of his subordinate was just normal, right?
Right?
Law shook his head. He was probably just overreacting.
Sora didn't move from her spot and stayed still. Since the meeting was 'important' and interruptions 'shouldn't be allowed', employees rarely pass by the hallway.
She could hear someone speaking from inside the room because of the silence and microphone. Occasionally, the girl would stare at the clock hanging on the other side of the wall of the hallway. She would keep track of the time just to have something to do.
Sora was just getting focused on staring the minute hand of the clock when footsteps were heard at the far end of the hallway. She snapped her head to her left, the direction of the sound while resting a hand on her katana, ready to unsheathe it.
1...2....3...4...... there's probably a dozen of them there.
She thought and gave the door one last look before proceeding to head to the noise of shuffling feet. The girl tiptoed slowly and quietly as she neared to the source of the sound.
At the far end on the side of the wall was a door left open. On it was the sign 'Authorized Personnel Only'.
Nobody gives a damn about things like that in this situation..
Sora leaned forward and peeked inside the room. Sure enough, there were several men in black suits talking in hushed tones. They seemed like they were in a rush.
The girl scanned the room more properly and soon realized that this must be the electrical room. Upon knowing that, Sora immediately figured what they were up to.
These bastards...
She slowly opened the door wider and crept in, sneaking right behind 3 of them.
"Boo."
She said. Sora figured that the three must be cowardly ones since they jumped and screamed, scaring the rest. Without giving them a chance to recover from their shock, the girl unsheathed Kaze and sliced the 3 in the front in one swing, blood splattering around her as the rest took out their guns.
Roughly about 10 were left.
This time, the brunette was no longer frozen and started to slice and stab everybody before they were even able to aim their guns and shoot at her. Because of that, there was no real fight.
Sora panted upon slicing the last one and stood up straight while the others were lying all around her. Just then, she heard a gun click behind her.
"Don't move." The man said.
The girl cursed in her mind. She probably missed the guy because he was the one crouching and tampering the wires and buttons while she was busy slicing everybody else.
Sora closed her eyes and inhaled.
Calm down...
She waited for the man to come near her if he was stupid. Or if he was smart enough, he'd just pull the trigger. Still, the gunshot would be heard from the meeting room and more chaos would occur.
Before she could think further, however, all lights went out.

I'll make it up in the next chapters
