Reika's POV
Here we are. Summer camp. A place where a lot of kids get to hang out with each other. But... for me, well... I'm not really good with this kind of thing.
The truth is I'm a huge klutz at communicating with others. Why? Because my anxiety always creeps up on me, making me feel like people will see me as a joke.
While I was sitting under a tree, a girl who's the same age as me came up to me. She had maroon hair that was tied up in a ponytail and blue eyes. She was looking at me with curious eyes.
"Hey," she said. "Why are you sitting alone?" I looked up at her and answered. "I just... I don't wanna be a bother to anybody." She starts giving me a sympathetic look and reached her hand out to me.
"How about this? I help you introduce yourself to the others, and we'll all get to know each other better," she suggested. I took her hand, and stood up as I nodded.
"Great. I'm Maki Uihara, by the way. What about you?" She asked. I guess making a friend is easy after all. I started to give her my name.
"Reika. Reika Tsukino," I told her. She started giving me a bright smile.
"Cool. Nice to meet you, Reika," she said. "Now, let's go!" She then starts taking me to 7 other kids, with my hand in hers. Let's just hope this works out well...
Once we got closer to them, the maroon-haired girl named Maki started calling out to them.
"Hey, guys!" She shouted, catching their attention. Oh boy, here we go...
"There's someone I'd like you guys to meet." She then started to pat me on my shoulder with reassurance, telling me it'll be okay. I nervously gulped, and got in front of everyone.
"Um... Hi," I said. "I-I'm Reika Tsukino..." Once I was done introducing myself, they started to trade their greetings and even give their names as well. Tai, Matt, Sora, Izzy, Mimi, Joe, and T.K.
Wow... To think that everyone would accept me so quickly...

3rd Person POV
Suddenly, snow started to fall down from the sky. Some are mesmerized by this sudden development, while others are confused by why snow would fall in the middle of June, including
"Snow...? At this time of year? What the heck?" Maki mumbled.
"This is weird..." Reika thought out loud. "The forecast never said anything about snow falling down."
"Whatever the case, we better head inside so that we don't catch a cold," Maki said. Reika nods and rushes inside with her. Once they were in, they see Tai and Izzy.
"Guys. What's happening out there?" Maki asks. Tai then turns to look at her and Reika.
"That's what we're trying to find out," Tai told her as he was about to head out.
"It's weird... I can't seem to get this to work. It's probably because of the weather," Izzy groaned, struggling with his computer.
"Huh? You mean the internet's down?" Maki questioned. As soon as she hears this, Reika makes a suggestion.
"Let me try the phone and see," she said, walking to the telephone. As soon as she picked it up, there was no sound. Not even a beep. Reika was puzzled. She sighed and puts the phone down.
"So, any luck?" Maki asked. Reika sighed as she was about to give her the result.
"Not one bit of it, I'm afraid," she answered. Maki groaned in disappointment and confusion. Then, Tai came in, bursting into the cabin.
"Guys! You gotta come and see this quick!" He exclaimed. He then went outside with the others. Izzy, Reika, and Maki all gave each other confused looks and then headed outside to see what Tai was talking about.
Once they were all outside, they saw a beautiful aurora shining across the sky. Some of the kids were amazed by it, while others were a tad bit confused.
"Wow. It's so pretty," Mimi spoke in awe.
"No kidding," Tai said in agreement.
"What is it? Is it like... some kind of aurora or something?" Sora asked with a confused expression.
"Hmm... It could be," Izzy pondered. Reika and Maki were even more confused than they were before.
"Wait a second. An aurora? It's supposed to be summer. Why is there an aurora? It's too early for that, and we're in the south," Maki said. Reika started pondering as well.
"It is, but... I don't know," Reika mumbled. 'The internet's not working, the snow is falling, and now there's an aurora... Just what is going on?' She thought.
"Maybe we should head back inside because the last we need is getting sick," Joe suggested. Maki and Reika nodded in agreement
Suddenly, the sky started glitching out, making the nine kids flinch.
"Gah! What the heck?!" Maki yelped. Reika started rubbing her eyes a bit.
"Sheesh... I really need to play fewer video games," Maki mumbled.
"You're not the only one who seen it, Maki. We all did," Matt explained.
"I can feel my brain getting fried from what's happening right now," Reika groaned.
"Uh, guys. What is THAT?" Tai said, pointing at the green digitized light in the sky. The other kids looked at it, only to see that it's starting to fall down from the sky. The light then splits into nine lights and is targeting near where the kids are standing.
"INCOMING!" Maki yelled as she took Reika by the hand, and moved away. The others began to protect themselves from the green lights as well before they were able to hit near their feet.
Once the lights all land, Sora looks around to check on everyone.
"Is everyone okay?" She said in a concerned tone.
"Yeah, we're good," Maki called out, holding Reika close, which made her blush a bit. They all looked down to their feet and saw a strange digital device. They all picked each one up.
"What is this thing?" Sora asked.
"No idea. And I bet I never saw this at a game store," Maki said. Reika looked at her with a sweatdrop and then looked back at the device she's holding.
"Whatever it is, it's definitely not a cellphone," Reika murmured.
"This is a strange piece of technology," Izzy said.
Then, an earthquake formed, shocking all of the kids. Reika looked around to see what was going on. As soon as she looked up, she gasped at the gigantic wave heading towards them.
"EVERYONE, LOOK OUT!" She shouted. The others looked up and were in pure shock by the look of the wave. They all tried to move away from it, but they were too late. It swallowed them whole.

Reika's POV
Everything was all black. I couldn't see anything. Could I be really dead...? Or is this all a dream...? Just then, I hear a timid, but gentle voice calling me.
"Reika..." It said.
"Reika...! Wake up...!" It spoke again. Then, as soon I open up my eyes, I'm in... some kind of forest. Not only that, I even see an adorable creature that looks like a purple teardrop.
"H-Hello," she spoke shyly. I flinched a little and backed up a bit. She then started to panic at my reaction.
"Wait! Please don't run away!" She said. "I'm really sorry for scaring you like that." But I didn't run away. I was able to keep my cool.
"Um... Who are you?" I asked her. She shyly started to think of what to say to me.
"I'm Moonmon. Your, uh... Digital partner. The truth is... I've been waiting to meet you, Reika..." She answered.
Wait. She knows me and wants to meet me? But how?! And what's a digital partner? Before I was able to ask her some questions, a familiar voice shouted out in the distance, calling for me, which seemed to be Maki's.
"Reika! Where are you?!" She shouted.
"I'm right here! I'm alright!" I yelled back as I ran to where her voice was coming from. Oh, and Moonmon was following me.
"Reika! Wait for me!" She shouted as she was catching up.
We got closer to where Maki's voice was as we shouted at her. Luckily, I found her... and a cute orange ball creature with a flame on its head. He might be Maki's digital partner. Maki hugged me tightly in pure relief.
"Thank goodness, you're okay," she sighed. I smiled softly and hugged her back. She then noticed Moonmon, who was behind me.
"I guess you met Sunmon, huh?" She spoke to Maki. We both stopped hugging and looked at both Sunmon and Moonmon.
"Wait a sec. You have a partner like Sunmon, too, Reika?" Maki asked me.
"Uh... Yeah, I guess," I answered with a sweatdrop.
"Anyway, do you know where the others are?" She asked. I shook my head "no" to answer her question.
"I see. Well, let's try looking around to see if we could find them," she then suggested. I nodded , and we started wandering around to find them.

3rd Person POV
As Reika, Maki, Moonmon, and Sunmon looked around to find the 7 other kids, they were able to find Sora, Matt and TK along with their own digital partners.
"Guys!" Maki yelled. They noticed the four running up to them.
"Maki! Reika! You're okay!" Sora said in happy relief. Sunmon and Moonmon noticed the kids' digital partners.
"So, you met Tsunomom, Yokomon, and Tokomon, huh?" Sunmon spoke, catching their attention.
"So... Are those guys your partners, too?" TK asked the two girls.
"Yep..." They spoke in unison.
"Hi there! I'm Sunmon!" Sunmon introduced himself energetically.
"And... I'm Moonmon," Moonmon said shyly.
"Hi Sunmon! Hi Moonmon!" TK said with a smile.
Just then, some screaming can be heard from the distance, two of them which seem to be Tai and Izzy's. They saw the two boys, along with their partners named Koromon and Motimon. They looked up and saw a huge red beetle-like monster coming to attack.
"It's Kuwagamon! Everyone, take cover!" Moonmon exclaimed.
Everybody went inside the tree and ducked down to avoid the attack, which worked out successfully.
Sometime later, they stood back up, sighing in relief that the monster is gone. Then, another scream can be heard somewhere, which is Joe's. Once they saw him, they even saw a brown seal-like creature named Bukamon following him, who is also Joe's partner.
"Hey. Even Joe has one!" Maki exclaimed.
"Huh? Me? Have one of what?" Joe asked.
"Uh... A digital partner," Reika answered.
"You mean... this thing?!" Joe said in shock.
"I've been trying to tell you that for a while now! And quit calling me a 'thing'! Just call me Bukamon!" Bukamon said.
"So, uh... What ARE you guys?" Reika asked. The eight creatures gathered together.
"Simple. We're digital monsters! Digimon for short!" Koromon answered.
"Digital monsters?! For real?!" Maki said in shock.
"You bet!" Sunmon spoke. "Digimon, like us, come in many different shapes and sizes. They even have some cool superpowers, which is why it's our job as your digimon partners to protect you."
"P-Protect us...?" Reika muttered under her breath in shock. She then looks around a bit.
"Um... Are we forgetting someone?" She then asked.
"Oh, snap! I forgot! Where's Mimi?!" Maki said in realization.
"Mimi? You mean the girl in pink?" Sora asked.
Then, they heard a scream from somewhere, which is certainly Mimi's.
"I think that's her! Come on!" Tai said. The others nodded, and they headed to where Mimi's voice was heard.
Once they got closer, they saw Mimi running away with a plant-like creature named Tanemon running with her. They were running away from the same Kuwagamon that attacked earlier. When the monster missed them, Mimi got her knees, and shivered in fear.
"Mimi. Are you alright?" Reika asked, trying to comfort her.
"That was so scary..." Mimi whimpered. Then, Tanemon spoke up with encouragement.
"No need to worry! Tanemon's here to protect Mimi from harm anytime!" She said.
Then, loud buzzing can be heard again, which means Kuwagamon is back to harm them again.
"Everyone! Get down!" Matt shouted. Everyone gets down as the vicious Kuwagamon flies above them. Then, it comes back, ready to attack them again.
"Well, I guess we're just going to have to fight back," Tai suggested.
"Fight back?! Tai, have you lost your marbles?! We'll get ourselves hurt!" Maki shouted.
"She's right. We don't even stand a chance against that thing," Matt explained.
The kids and their Digimon all started running until they reached the edge of a cliff.
"Oh, no..." Reika murmured.
Then, they looked back and saw Kuwagamon getting ready to attack again. Koromon got in front, and started to attack by blowing bubbles, but it didn't affect Kuwagamon much, and knocked Koromon back.
The other Digimon start to attack as well, but the result stayed the same that Kuwagamon knocked them away as well. The kids all ran up to their Digimon partners.
"Sunmon... That was reckless of you," Maki said.
"Heh... Sorry about that," Sunmon said.
"Moonmon... Why did you have to do that...?" Reika said with tears forming in her eyes.
"We already told you... We're your partners, and it's our duty to protect you," Moonmon told Reika.
Then, a screech can be heard from Kuwagamon, who is angrier. It was about to attack everyone.
"We gotta run, now!" Tai exclaimed.
"No! We still got some fight left in us!" Koromon protested, but didn't want to let him go. The same goes with the others.
"No! I can't!!" Reika cried.
"Reika! Please let me do this!" Moonmon said to Reika.
"Sunmon! Don't you dare!" Maki protested.
"C'mon! I have to do this, Maki!" Sunmon protested as his partner.
The digimon all got out of their partner's grip, and started charging at Kuwagamon. The kids all shouted at their Digimon to come back.
"Koromon!! Don't!!" Tai shoutes
"Tsunomon!! You can't do this!!" Matt shouted.
"Yokomon!!" Come back!!" Sora shouted.
"Motimon!! It's too dangerous!!" Izzy shouted.
"Bukamon!! Don't!!" Joe shouted
"Tanemon!! You'll get hurt!!" Mimi shouted.
"Tokomon!! Please, stop!!" TK shouted.
"Sunmon!! Stop!!" Maki shouted.
"Moonmon!! Don't do this, please!!" Reika shouted with a tearful look.
Then, suddenly, a bright light started to surround the small Digimon, and a change is occurring to them.
"Koromon, digivolve to... Agumon!"
"Yokomon, digivolve to... Biyomon!"
"Motimon, digivolve to... Tentomon!"
"Tsunomon, digivolve to... Gabumon!"
"Tokomon, digivolve to... Patamon!"
"Bukamon, digivolve to... Gomamon!"
"Tanemon, digivolve to... Palmon!"
"Sunmon, digivolve to... Coronamon!"
"Moonmon, digivolve to... Lunamon!"
The children are in awe by the sudden change of their Digimon.
"No way... They got... bigger," Tai commented. Maki smiled brightly at this moment.
"Does this mean... they can fight back now?!" Maki said.
"I hope so," Reika replied.
"Alright, guys! Let's show 'em what we can do!" Agumon said as he and the other Digimon get ready to fight.
"Poison Ivy!" Palmon's vines started to extend at the angry Kuwagamon, immobilizing it.
"Boom Bubble!" Patamon fired a ball full of air from his mouth.
"Super Shocker!" Tentomon unleashed an electric attack.
As soon as Kuwagamon was on the ground, Gomamon slid under it, making it trip in the process.
"Now's our chance!" Agumon shouted.
"Pepper Breath!"
"Blue Blaster!"
"Spiral Twister!"
"Corona Flame!"
"Tear Shot!"
A flurry of fire, water, and wind was shot at the Kuwagamon, spelling its defeat. The kids ran up to the changed Digimon, amazed by what they did.
"Seriously, what was I so worried about? That was awesome, Sunmon!" Maki said.
"Hey, it's no big deal. And it's Coronamon to you," he replied, laughing.
"That was reckless of you, Moonmon. But, still, that was amazing," Reika said, wiping her tears.
"Thanks, Reika. And make sure to call me Lunamon," she replied to her partner.
Then, their celebration was short-lived when Kuwagamon got back up, angrier than before. They all froze in fear. The Kuwagamon then dug its pincers to the ground, breaking the cliff and making the kids and their partners scream as they fall down.
To be continued...
