Shock overwhelmed her as she dropped her music box and fell backwards onto the ground. A chill ran down her spine as it didn't make any sense to her. From what she could remember, her mother died from childbirth yet this picture exists...
"Asteria? Are you okay, here take my hand—" in an instant Asteria had slapped the hand that had reached out to her out of generosity and care, however she had reacted in a manner.
Coming back to realization she apologized. "I'm sorry Jeremy, I know you didn't mean any harm.." sighing as she spoke. But this didn't stop Jeremy at all, even his sharp animalistic senses were tingling. "What's wrong? Why are you so shakened all of a sudden?" He asked.
Kneeling down to face her. She looked at him before looking at her hand. "Don't push it Jeremy." He didn't care and looked around to see the opened music box on the ground that she had dropped not long ago.
His body froze as if he couldn't even dare to speak. One by one as the time goes by it seems that her friend group can only uncover secrets that should've remained as ones.
Whilst some must be uncovered by force...
"Hey...what kind of gift is this?? Is this some kind of joke!?" Jeremy growled. Although his voice was more on the softer and quieter end because he had a feeling Asteria didn't want any exposure as of right now. "I don't know...I can't remember anything!!" She felt scared.
Scared of the unknown
That has yet to come...
Her hands were on her hand as she shoved her face into her knees. Jeremy quit looking at the music box while carefully closing it back up before attending to his friend's needs.
Wrapping her hands around him and putting her face in the crook of his neck he lifted her up into his arms. "It's been a long day, yeah? So let's head on to bed now Asteria." He spoke. His words were a way of comfort as Asteria can see glimpses of his future self. "...okay" she replied.
***
As they reached Asteria's chambers he cautiously placed her on her bed before taking a knee. And with a soothing tone he spoke. "Do you want to change into another night gown?" He asked.
To which she shook her head in response. "It's okay, you act like I got it all dirty or something.." She said as she began to get under the covers. Jeremy stood up ready to leave but was held back in return. He looked to see Asteria's hand on his wrist.
Her hair covered her face as the moonlight shone behind her. "Can you...stay just for a little bit? Or at least until I fall asleep? Please." she begged.
Jeremy's face tensed up as he turned around and her hold on him loosened. His hand reached behind his head as he scratched it. "Well, there's not much harm but me? I'm a guy too, you know, it's just not right to be in a girl's room at night.." Jeremy was stating facts.
She nodded understanding everything but in the end she also knew that Jeremy wasn't the kind of man who would do such a thing to her. Not one bit. Her trust in him was much more than he knew.
"But I trust Jeremy. Never in a million years would he ever try to do anything that'll anger me." She looked up at him purely. He groaned heavily in annoyance. "I can't believe this..."
A second later he sat down on the edge of her bed as he pushed her to lay down and cover her up. "Go to bed you child!! I'll stay here 'till you fall asleep alright?!" He raised his voice slightly.
Shortly after, a small smile appeared on her face although she covered it with the blanket. In her heart she was correct about Jeremy. "Thank you Jeremy, goodnight." She said, He acknowledged her and did the same. He began to softly pat her to lull her to bed.
"Sweet dreams, Asteria. May the heavens protect you." Jeremy proclaimed as he watched over her. Once she fell asleep he waited just a bit longer. There was this uneasiness within him.
It was like, if he didn't keep a keen eye on her she would disappear or break.
If such a thing were to ever happen, he was sure that the end of the world would begin.
Just as he was about to leave, the doors to her chambers opened more. (The two had previously left it somewhat open) their fluffy blonde-platinum-like hair was more than enough to tell who it was. "Oh, Jeremy, is she sleeping?" He whispered to which Jeremy nodded.
Leon then motioned for him to come out. Once they were, Leon took one last look at Asteria before quietly and slowly closing her door. "Thanks for putting her to bed. There's a lot that has been on her mind lately so I really do appreciate this." Leon explained.
Jeremy on the other hand was still comprehending everything that Leon had just said. He was still trying to get used to this even weirder version of Leon that was much nicer to him now.
"Yeah...no problem." He answered. However, he stayed on alert not once leaving his guard down. "So, what do you want from me??" Jeremy asked hesitantly.
Leon glanced at him before leaning back onto the doors to Asteria's chambers.
"As of right now, nothing much. But in the future I have a huge favor I would like to ask of you. However, it's up to you whether or not you want to believe in it." Leon said.
The tension in the air was as clear as day.
Jeremy knew that the Leon he was talking to right now was the one that was not to be messed with. "I'll hear you out but is out here even a good place to hold it?" Jeremy questioned.
Leon knew what he was trying to say but it didn't matter. "It's fine, during this time it is when most are heading to their quarters so there won't be anyone here. Even if they were with your animalistic senses and my radar, they won't be able to get by." Leon deciphered.
He got off from the doors and stood up properly. "Now then, from here on out not a single word will ever be spoken of." The way he worded that sentence was almost deceiving...
If someone didn't understand it in the right way, it could've totally been misinterpreted.

Asteria woke up rather late, it was almost noon when she came to. Quickly washing up and picking the possible outfits that were placed for her to wear today she headed out. Completely forgetting some of the things that had previously happened.
Running in the halls, searching for just one person she was close to. All the maids and butlers were so busy with the house that they didn't bother her, only to greet and bow to her.
However, she had a weird sensation that someone was watching her every movement. There was no malicious intent but she was curious to know. Therefore, she stopped running and turned around while keeping her guard up. "Who's there?" she asked politely.
There weren't many places to hide. There was only the hallways, window, and possible magic. Just then one of the palace windows was forced open by the wind causing Asteria to shut her eyes and block the wind.
Then appeared Jade with the cubs.
"I'm sorry milady, please pardon my rudeness. But I wasn't sure whether or not I should've been looking after you from afar or close by. If I have done anything wrong please punish me." Jade explained. Asteria was stunned. She didn't think that her thoughts would be on the spot.
"No..don't worry, you're fine Jade but I rather you just be near me rather than from afar. I may get my sense mixed up from one another." Asteria responded.
He nodded as he came into range with her and handed her the cubs who responded happily. They slobbered on her face and messed with her hair. That was when Asteria began regretting them. "You two, it's nice to see you too but did you have to go so far??" she whined.
As Jade began to wipe her face with a handkerchief, asteria questioned (interrogated) him.
"So, where is everyone? Why are the halls so busy? No one is coming over, uncle and aunt aren't even coming back yet. There are no birthdays that I know of around this time. Is Ray still here? Or did he leave with the Hyperion twins? What about Jeremy and Roxie?" She asked.
Jade began to question why he was here but stayed loyal to himself. He backed away and coughed into his hand as he began to answer every answer to the best of his ability.
"Ahem, for everyone who do you consider? The servants are simply doing their jobs. Correct, no one has arrived or will be and the emperor and empress will not be back for a while (as far as I know of).
There are several birthdays for the servants and subordinates around this time and yours is also arriving rather soon. Sir Zekken is still here for the time being and the two princes. As for the Argiche duchy siblings, they are currently with his highness at the training ground."
Asteria was impressed. "Okay, thank you for all of the information that I needed Jade. So let's start heading towards the training ground—" Just as she began to walk she was halted.
"Hoho, you just woke up yet you're heading over there?" Asteria shivered as she turned her head around. "Hey, ray?" She trailed while averting her gaze. Jade stood back as Raymond grew closer. "You haven't even eaten, you should go eat before anything else." He said.
Asteria didn't want to agree with him though. "No!! It's almost noon, I'll eat when lunch is served." She looked him straight in the eyes as the cubs in her arms barked in agreement.
Raymond's stare sharpened as his aura was swirling. "So what? The breakfast that was made for you is still untouched. You would be wasting the chef's precious time and meal by not eating it." his voice was beginning to get darker.
Her mouth quivered as she spoke once more.
"I know that but, I don't have a reason to be eating it right now!! I have other places I need to be—" When suddenly a thought came into mind. The two are confused by her strange actions.
Asteria starts to recall the night before and remembers something important. One of the hugest clues that has been beside her all along.
Raymond...
She got up close to him and looked at him head on with full confidence. Meanwhile, Jade was so lost while Raymond was wondering why she has been behaving out of norm lately.
"Ray!! You—" she was cut off again when a ginormous light fell upon Asteria forcing Raymond to be flung backwards towards the end of the hall as Jade was forced out the window he came from. The cubs were flung to the ground outside of the white beam.
Outside of the castle, that white beam of light was even more prominent as everyone stopped what they were doing. Especially the younger ones who made their way to it without missing a beat.
Once the light had disseminated and left small reminisce around Asteria her eyes were a completely different color while her entire body looked like it was phasing through this world and another. Raymond helped Jade back up the window while the cubs ran to a safe distance.
Asteria or whoever/whatever was within began to speak...
"The morning rays of light shone upon the star of judgment.
Beware of what has yet to come as the fate sealed upon will be providence. When the moon and sun come to one, the star of judgment will emerge.
Becoming what the two could not, shall new light come.
The light will be blessed as the star raises above all.
Then the road of stars will show growth.
What all was lost was merely pseudo, come out of grief in order to acquire.
Only then will the star reunite."
Once the light had completely vanished, Asteria had fainted. Raymond was about to drop Jade whom he was helping in order to catch her but luckily someone else had made it to the scene.
"Duke, how long have you been here?!" Raymond snarled. Duke merely took a small glance back towards them before slowly setting the fainted princess onto the ground with him.
"That's not something you say to someone who clearly helped you." Duke retorted.
Footsteps were heard throughout the halls. "Is Ria okay?! Was she the cause of that beam?" Leon questioned. Behind him were the others. Duke nodded while Leon stared at the others.
"Aren't you two supposed to be watching her? Why is she on the ground!!" Leon wondered as he saw Jade hopping back inside while closing the window shut this time. Raymond easily responded. "If it were Jade or the princess, it is obvious that I would've let Jade drop down instead." It was a tad bit mean for Jade but it'd be the same for everyone.
"It was only because I was here that Raymond didn't make a move. Don't fret your highness. And it only seems that the princess fainted from whatever possessed her." Duke claimed.
When Duke said that it made them ask oneself about the situation.
"But Asteria's body isn't exactly cut out for possession and that big entrance with the light wouldn't have been necessary. Are you sure it wasn't something else?" Lucas inquired.
"Well her highness did say something...what was it again?" Jade asked while looking towards Raymond who sighed. Rather than saying it he gathered his aura and sent it into their heads.
It caused their heads to hurt slightly but no harm was done in the process. "Hey, isn't this..." Herald couldn't believe it the way the light was and how they spoke. "...a prophecy?!" Roshiel finished.
That caught their attention faster than the possession did. "A prophecy?! I get that Asteria would have some sort of connection but even if that were true, prophecies are more than just something so small!!" Leon retaliated. Lucas and Raymond agreed.
Roshiel and Herald would've agreed as well but they are from a family that had history with prophecies. Roxanna and Jeremy stayed quiet in order to gather the necessary info first.
While they were dealing with that Duke had noticed the cubs making their way towards Asteria. Once they were touching her he was aware of the fact that they were infusing her mana with theirs in order to awaken her.
However, the day passed and she had not woken up. As they began to be worried for her some of them had no choice but to leave. Such as Ray and the Hyperion twins.
The three couldn't delay their stay any longer despite Asteria's current condition. But based on what was said earlier, Raymond was sure enough that his princess will awaken quite soon. Leaving trust in faith, he left with no regret.
***
It was all bright and warm, kind of like a fuzzy feeling. Tingling inside of her yet despite her wanting to wake up, her eyes did not want to open and felt like going against her. Almost like her body was something that she couldn't control.
But after a few moments
An appeasing feeling overcame her and her eyes fluttered open. However, the sight in front of her was blinding and took a moment for her eyes to recover from the radiance.
Her long blonde platinum white hair was scattered on the ground as she began to push herself off the ground while looking around her surroundings. From what she could see, she was inside of somewhere she never knew of.
Majority of what she could see was white. In fact, even her dress had changed to a simple comfortable white dress. Some areas had a ton of books while others had windows.
But whatever the case is, she needs to know where and why she is even there.
"Uhm, helloooo is anyone here..??" Asteria asked as she stood up. Looking around she didn't really see much at all. Curious, she began walking to the shelves of books.
But just as she was going to pull a book out a white wolf appeared. However, it clearly wasn't like any of the other regular animals she had met before. They were just like the guardians, however from the looks of it, this wolf only had an animal form.
"I would refrain from touching that, Princess Asteria." Looking behind her she was startled to see a white wolf of all things. "Yes..I apologize I guess." she muttered.
As he got to her, he circled around her and began to walk as his tail brought her along for the ride. 'Am I getting dragged by a wolf right now?? Like seriously??' Asteria questioned.
After walking for a while in such a tense quiet atmosphere they had finally arrived at a place with a giant mirror waiting for them. Along with a vessel brimming with some type of fluid inside of it. Not to mention that there was also a bunch of unique writings on the ground inscribed with blue glowing features.
The wolf had walked further and crossed the water in order to get onto the structure. But while paying attention to all the other stuff, Asteria had noticed that there were a lot of low level spirits.
When the wolf was crossing the water, she didn't fail to catch that low leveled spirits had appeared in the process. She was really beginning to become more and more curious.
Once he had reached the vessel he looked back at her. "Come on now, there's nothing to be afraid of." As he motioned for her to follow him. Hesitant and unsure, she followed her instincts which led her to go.
As soon as her foot made contact with the water, she could feel an immense amount of energy coursing through herself while blue rays of light emerged from the water giving it a starry feel.
Each step she took, more spirits arrived of different levels and how much of a beautiful scene appeared before her eyes. Nonetheless, for some reason she felt safe and that no harm would come to her there.
As she stepped onto the landmass the wolf was on, the words written there were coursing with a golden eminence as the fluid inside of the vessel initiated a glowy case.
"Totally weird in my case..." Asteria whispered to herself as she reached the wolf's presence.
He shook his head. "Don't mind it all, it's been a while since someone has been able to enter our domain. In fact, it is very rare for someone to have such an affinity to this place." the wolf spoke.
Asteria nodded her head as she paid attention to every world he said. "Yet, that doesn't explain why I'm here right now. In fact, I was going to ask a very important question before I woke up here!!" Asteria complained.
She assumed that the wolf would've bursted at her but instead, he was calm and collected. Asteria didn't know what she should do or respond to this awkwardness.
"Uh...I'm sorry?" Asteria suddenly said. The low butterfly spirits were slowly and steadily flying around her while emitting several different types of colors. The wolf shook their head, dismissing her apology. "Do not fret, it is fine. It was not our intention to bring you here at the time..."
Although he was saying all that, it was almost as if all of her questions were being misled and driving her away from them by diverting the situation. So she waited for him to speak.
"My name is Alteos, and I am the guardian of this place. You were accidently brought here by mistake when a prophecy had been brought down to your world. However, in the process your body was taken over and sent your consciousness to our realm." Alteos briefly explained.
Asteria nodded in confirmation. "Okay..but if the prophecy has been told then why am I still here? I get that my body gets weak easily from over exhaustion sometimes but still.."
"I am afraid that I personally do not have the answers to your questions." He spoke.
She was about to ask another question before he spoke up again. "However, that doesn't mean that some of the questions you have right now will not be answered here. As you can see, there is a vessel here as well as that giant mirror over there." Alteos was slowly giving her more responses.
Looking at the vessel, she didn't know what to do with it. After all, each vessel has their own meanings and what they can do. In one tale, even the Holy Grail is considered as a vessel.
"Uhm...just a quick question here, but nothing bad will happen right?" Asteria asked, hoping to get an answer to her question as the spirits here did not talk much but rather enjoyed and basked in her presence. "It will depend on you whether or not it shall be bad." Alteos said.
Asteria sighed as she knew that she wasn't going to get a proper and clear answer to what she wanted. But it wasn't like she had much else to do since she didn't know how to 'wake up'.
Hovering her hands at the side of the vessel she slowly put her hands on the sides as if an immense power awoke inside of her. Light was glowing out of her eyes and mouth as the spirits became intimidated which caused some to disappear. But it only happened for a few seconds.
The light died down as Asteria was going to fall to the ground if not for Alteos supporting her. This was definitely something that doesn't occur very often...
"Alteos, just where in the world are we..?" Asteria asked, shaky. He looked at the mirror before looking up at her.
"We are in the realm of where those who received blessings from those above are allowed into. Not many can enter as you see but the spirits here are welcomed to go as they please so long as they remain true to themselves." He said.
Gathering her strength she stood up. 'Why is it that I have to go through all this? Isn't it enough that I am already having to deal with my situation as it is..?' she thought to herself.
She sighed before ruffling her hair and keeping her hand over one of her eyes while looking at the giant mirror in front of them. "May I ask what you saw, Princess Asteria?" Alteos asked. Humming shortly she shrugged. "Nothing really, just some history lessons I guess." she said.
'History lessons?' Alteos wondered. She began walking off the platform so that she could reach the giant mirror that looked almost as if it was made out of water instead of glass.
Based on the way it was reflecting light fragments and the way it appeared to her. It was like this place was drawing her in and making her feel as if she has some type of connection. But she doesn't ever recall this place once. Nor does she think she ever will...
"Alteos, you once belonged to my family right?" Asteria suddenly asked while she was at a safe distance from the mirror. His spiritual energy faltered for just a short moment but it was enough.
More than enough for Asteria to confirm his identity. "I see, then thank you for watching over us. I'm sure that even though you watched over us you were lonely as very few ever got to visit this place. If it were Lord Vincent or his father, Kazimir, they would be delighted to know you're doing well." Asteria profess.
"D..did the vessel show you actual historical contents about the de Leons?" Alteos asked. To which she nodded. "Yeah, and you're Alteos the wolf of Calamity. Although you didn't do anything wrong, in fact you were always watching over us, the descendants." Asteria giggled.
"Makes you wonder why a wolf watched over your family rather than a lion huh?" Alteos teased as he could sense her curiosity. "It is true that I am curious but whether or not I am, Uncle is currently the Emperor of land that stands for 'Wolf' isn't he?" Asteria turned around and laughed.
He couldn't help but smile because he knew too that deep down, his connections with the de Leons were still there. Shining as bright as day, just like that star in front of him.
"Now then this mirror, I wonder what it'll do this time.." asteria asked while she looked back at it.
Flashforward to her back in the Lykaios Empire—
When she had awakened from her time with Alteos, Leon was right by her side. Along with Lucas too. Duke and the pups were at a distance from her while Jeremy and Roxanne were said to be in their quarters as they lost in a game.
But that didn't matter because Asteria kicked everyone out of her room when she woke up that night. Including her cubs, because she had something she needed to do.
After making sure that everyone had left, she shut the doors to her chambers and walked over to her desk that was filled with many books and paper. Grabbing one and ink she began writing a letter. She was supposed to do it earlier in the day but clearly she was busy.
After writing her thank you, she began to fold it gently and place it in the envelope. However, before she made sure that she left a gift inside along with the letter she had written.
She was deciding how she wanted to seal it before engraving the mark with one of her favorite ribbons that she no longer wears. It had her initials imprinted on there. With that she had finished her desire for the night.
Picking it up she went to her door and stuck her head out to see Duke standing there. She smiled as she went out completely and handed her letter to him. "Please send this."
He knew that Asteria was a weird child but sometimes she acts like she isn't actually 'Asteria'. However, he was in no position to say anything as he was working under them of course. Grabbing the envelope he looked at his princess. "Where to, your highness?" he asked.
At that moment, her eyes flickered crystal blue for a few seconds.
Surprising Duke, as he may have been the only one to notice it even happening.
"It's a letter for dad..!" Asteria said softly as her eyes longed for something. Duke heard a soft yet a lonesome tune surrounding the two. It was one of the abilities that Duke had although this one was more of like a sixth sense to him.
He briefly smiled at her. "Congrats your highness, I'm not sure if I did already but it is your birthday now little lady so happy birthday to the brightest star in our time, Princess Asteria."
Mouth slightly opened as she realized that her birthday was indeed today as it is past midnight now since the majority of her day was her in bed due to all that craziness. She couldn't believe it, time sure did pass by fast?
With a bright smile on her face she appreciated his words. "Thank you, Sir Duke!!"
He bowed and was going to leave but not before saying goodbye. "Eternal blessings to our beloved first star that hails upon the Obelian Empire." Duke stated. Asteria waved him goodbye.
When she went back to her room she sat on her bed and looked out through the balcony doors.
"The moon sure is bright tonight but, so are the stars." she said before nodding off to sleep. Meanwhile, with Duke. After leaving Asteria alone to rest, he went to his chambers. Normally he would've read the letter as precautions he didn't want to invade her privacy.
In fact, it was like that for most of the family. As the right hand aid to her family, he is supposed to check all letters ahead of time but in some cases there are those that must only be opened by one.
"I hope that the princess's feelings can get through to those she wishes. Otherwise, there'd be no point in having those trash in our lives." Duke darkly stated as he got dressed in his nightwear.
It was then that Lucas appeared randomly in his room.
Looking at him, he handed Asteria's letter to him. "Here, send this to either Felix or his majesty for her highness will you? You're apparently the 'best' at magic." Duke retorted.
"Gee, aren't you a bit fussy tonight. Is it because I came into your room unacknowledged?" Lucas asked while making a cutesy face but mocking wise. Duke felt like he wanted to throw up.
"Don't make such a face to me again...it's disturbing." Duke groaned. Lucas took the envelope and asked "You didn't want to know what she wrote?" Lucas was actually pretty curious about it as well. All of a sudden the room felt chilly and dark.
Duke was glaring at Lucas with his aura seeping out of him intensely. "I dare you to say that again you damn magician..." Clearly his loyalty was firm and unbroken.
Quickly apologizing Lucas snapped his fingers and the envelope was sent flying away.
"Why didn't you just teleport it instead?" Duke asked him. Lucas smiled. "What's the fun in that?" he replied back. Sighing heavily he began to wonder when this mage was going to leave him and his room alone.
"If you're done with your business here, I beg you to leave me alone now." Duke responded back. Lucas suddenly became all serious when Duke said that.
"Actually, as of lately don't you think many things are happening to Asteria? I'm starting to think that there is a possibility that all these occurrences are not just randomly happening." Lucas said. Duke hummed in agreement but there wasn't much that could be done.
After all, he has no idea what they are going up against.
Going into battle without knowing your enemies is like playing rock into paper. An instant loss which they can not afford to lose at the time. He wishes that they could do something about it.
"There isn't much that we can do. But since you're saying this, I think that Asteria and Leon have intel that we don't have..or at least information that I don't have." As he stared deeply into Lucas's eyes. Of all people, the magician of the tower must know a lot more than others do.
Avoiding eye contact with Duke he suddenly coughed. "Ahem!! Let's not drag me into this!! But I do think that you are correct in that scenario. After the two had came back from Yuriana things were off about them." Lucas inferred.
Duke was slowly gathering information while trying to piece them all together. But he didn't have everything that he needed. Sighing heavily as he gave up not wanting to be exhausted.
"Well let's give it a rest for now and just keep an eye out..plus I'm sure you're leaving pretty soon aren't you? To the—" Lucas immediately shut his mouth swiftly. "You're so knowledgeable that it freaks me out. To the point I want to erase your memories." Lucas stated.
Duke and Lucas talked for a while before calling it a night and going their separate ways.
'Just what will happen to our futures?' Duke wondered as he laid on his bed. Looking up at the ceiling he began counting sheeps to make him fall asleep as he was thinking too much now.
Extra: While looking at the bright moon, that very moonlight was shining upon blonde hair that was flowing along with the gentle wind. His jeweled eyes were calm just like the soft breeze that surrounded him.
"The moon may overlook the stars, but they are shining with all their might." he spoke. In his mind he knew what today was despite it being late. He could sense a magic energy flying in his direction.
But without a care he continued to enjoy the night sky. It was quiet, too quiet even for him. One death after another, yet that star that was gifted to him was something he shouldn't have let go.
While he was in deep thought he sensed that the magic energy was now flying right in front of him. So he opened his eyes and saw an envelope covered in a familiar magic residue.
'This belongs to...that mage right?' But that wasn't the only thing he noticed. When he had the envelope in his hands, a smile appeared on his face. There was no sender but it was purely obvious of who had sent it.
"Happy birthday, to my beloved lovely princess. The star the revolves around the sun." he said as he kissed the envelope before looking at the brightest star in the sky.
All in one, he was not expecting a letter from her. But in the end he was happy when he got it. The bright moon was surely so bright that night, yet they all had a peaceful and dreamy time.
