My mother and father were about to leave in a few days and I was there with a humiliated and ruined humanoid. I had money, I've mentioned before that my father used to give me. But getting Miles repaired will cost a lot. I was aware..
If I tell dad what happened ?
A, he will get mad and eventually send me to the military for me not being able to take care of a very expensive "toy"
B, if I lie to him, he'll talk to Lorette's father to clear up what exactly happened. And there is no way the truth won't be uncovered..
I went with version A.
When he found Miles , he got upset right away. It left me in surprise that he didn't blame me for first.
"Who did this?!"
I lowered my head and decided to stay silent for a while. He was angry and I couldn't blame him this time.
"Answer me child. What the hell happened to him?"
"I.. well... I'll pay for the repair costs.."
My mother, as always, tried to save my pathetic ass.
"It's fine, I don't think it's something that can't be fixed easily. Will is not to be blamed."
"Mom.."
My father knew by my tone that *I was* to blame.
"I knew.. I knew you'd ruin him! Get ready because once we're back you'll go to.."
"Dad.. it wasn't me. I swear! Yes I took part in it but I didn't hurt him.."
My father frowned and crossed his arms. It was hard for him to believe me. No wonder. I told the very first day that I'd destroy Miles.
"Me and Lorette broke up and we had a nasty fight.. she blamed it on Miles for some reason.. and he...just wanted to fix it for me.."
"Why exactly? Can't you do anything on your own? You're an adult! If you screw something up, you should take responsibility! He's your assistant not your slave"
As if I didn't know that. And he was right. But I never asked Miles to do it. He.. he was only trying to fix things for me so I'd get my will to live back.
"I know dad.. so he went there and..a policeman took him home after Lorette's brother did this to him.."
My mother frowned as well. She always hated violence. And it seemed , she accepted these humanoids as humans.
"Dear, you need to talk to their father. Lawrence will make his son pay, I'm sure of it"
"I'll  call him later. And your son will pay the other half . I'm sick of your behavior William"
I sighed. I guess I got away easier than I expected. I didn't deserve it. But I was relieved. I was acting like a total asshole the past weeks. That's why this could happen.
"..so.. when can he be fixed and how long will it take?"
"It's almost the holidays. Either I turn him off till we get home or I send him back tomorrow. But either way, they won't fix him sooner than the end of December. You need to be on your own, unless you want a replacement of him for the meantime. But seeing how you couldn't even handle him, you don't deserve a new humanoid at all."
I pursed my lips. Not like I wanted a new one. Not now, not later. I only wanted Miles.. and I was willing to let my father know.
"I will earn that money but you need to get him fixed sooner. I'm not staying alone. "
"Tie your tongue. Whose fault that this happened ? You don't have the money to get him repaired earlier. And I'm not giving you more for now"
Of course! Of course he wouldn't! Who was to blame if not me? I was acting up! Not giving a shit about my life lately. I showed them that I don't care about the assistant that I got.
But I do now. I accepted my feelings and I couldn't bear the thoughts of him not being with me daily..
"Dad... I'm sorry I really am. I admit that you're right. I wish I listened.. I'll do anything but please... Get him fixed. I...need him around.."
Mom smiled softly. She always had a soft place for me in her heart. I hoped she could soften dad too
"Rowan, please. You can see that he regretted his actions. I'm certain that Will is trying to change. Give him a chance my love. He seems to be attached to that humanoid."
She couldn't have said it better. I was more than attached by now. I had feelings which were forbidden and they made me struggle and got me angry. I couldn't deal with them.
"Fine. I'll try to get him fixed but don't be surprised if they'll make minor changes on him. This boy got his sensor entirely ruined. They may change his look. But it won't affect his operation "
Miles with a new look? I wasn't so happy about it. But if it means that he can get back sooner , I had to go with it ..
He was silent the whole time. Like a well mannered child.
"So? What do you think? Would you mind a new look?"
I asked him, trying not to get in touch with him in front of my parents.
"If you'll be able to accept it as well, I'm fine with anything "
Mom's smile widened. It felt like, she was already sensing something. God have mercy on me if she did ...
Dad talked to Mr Richardson later. He was furious of his son's behavior and made Philip pay for the repair. And like my father said, I had to pay half of it. There goes almost my whole saving..
They left two days later. And I was alone...
I tried to wait patiently. I hoped they will call and say they finished.
But they didn't... Despite the fact that dad asked them and I had to pay extra.
As we were inching to Christmas, I knew there was no chance that I'll spend the holidays with *him*..
"They better not fuck his face up .."
I was mumbling to myself while sipping some whiskey.
If I thought my life was boring, trust me the last days of December were more than eventless.
Most of the servants left too. Only the chef and one of the maids stayed. Mother called me at times.
I was glad to hear a familiar voice.. I barely missed them, not as much as I missed Miles..
Less than a year ago, I never imagined that I'd like a robot at all. I've always despised the mere idea of them.
And now ..I kept catching myself smiling like a fool, whenever he was in my mind.
"This night will be interesting again.."
I was ready to dirty my hands after not having any fun for so long.
He was in my nastiest fantasies..and I was so ready to drown in them with pleasure.
