Writers note: hey guys! So, some new faces were introduced last chapter. And I always get so busy I forget to give a little credit. Which I should be doing. So I will give credit to characters that I have not yet before you read this chapter.
First off, this was a while ago.. but.
Credit to FairyGodAngel for the world dominating, "safety Darwin," that was introduced a little while ago. The original story is called "Not gonna Fall" pretty cool, I'd recommend.
Credit to The_Infamous_Author for the newly introduced Evil A/U Penny. In her story she was a cutthroat reader and cultivator. The original story on here is called "The Amazing world of Gumball, into the Multiverse" pretty cool.
Fun fact about those last two, both have been around for like 5 years with no updates. Pretty awesome. Just wish there's was more lol, Anyways..

And finally, this is a tricky one. The wendigo could honestly go to anyone's credit, or no one's. I mean, there's tons of versions of "The Grieving." However, I really enjoyed Valha248 version. So for the sake of storytelling, I've decided to use Valha's version, for main plot points of the Wendigo, and the world he came from.
Oh and btw, Gumball #2 also known as the Gumball from Shadow_Ark story, about Nicole and Gumball. He will have a nickname change, from now on he will be referred to as Gumball GXN. Because, Gumball x Nicole... idk sounded cool. So just to clarify, he's now called "Gumball GXN."

Zach and Jimmy finally entered back into one of the houses, in The team's primary world. (Which is Gumball GXN's story setting.) both Jimmy and Zach were left with a sort of.. Empty feeling. The kind of feeling you get when you've let someone down. In this case, Pure Gumball..
"Do you think, maybe, he escaped?" Jimmy fearfully asked, with sulk sullen eyes.
Zach sighed with guilt bearing, and angst. A massive weight of it all was upon him. At least he had experience in that department. He never got what he wanted, did he? But maybe that's ok. Because maybe that's what he deserved?
His family
His friends
His love
His hate..
His anger...
His burden!
Twenty years, twenty years and for what? For nothing...
All for nothing.
He wanted to scream, he wanted to ball up and cry. But he wouldn't, he didn't, what good would that do?
All these good people around him, they didn't deserve that. They deserve better... when a team needs a leader, you stand up, straighten your shoulders, and do what you have to.
Not always what you want, but what you need to do. For others, for the ones who matter. His mom taught him that, in her life, yeah. But even in her final act! He couldn't forget that.
A woman who spent her whole life.. doing things for others, and not cause she wanted to, but because she needed to. Some people think, that you have to do those things, because it's your responsibility right? Your requirement..
But that's not true, there's always a choice. Even when the option is bad. You can choose to stand and help others and yourself. Or, you can give up. His mom didn't, he wouldn't, he only had a sliver of a dream, that at the end of all this, he could be happy.
Whatever that means for him?
So he walked to the cabinet of the kitchen in this home. He Grabbed a bottle of Bourbon, and he poured it into a shot glass until it was full. He downed it, in one swig.
He looked down at his hand, it shook. Only his hand, nothing else..
"Zach, what do we do now?" Jimmy asked from behind, still standing near the door.
He thought for a moment, and gathered the only answer he could think of.
"We move forward, when the time is right, we'll find him" Zach spoke.
He gazed to the painting on the wall, it was of someone falling into an empty abyss. It reminded him of a certain moment. That painting.. Banana Barbara.
Wait, BANANA BARBARA!!! She painted.. everything that happened in the future! Maybe, she knew how this ended?? It was a solid idea. But for now, he'd keep this to himself. Until he could gather everyone else up, To share this idea.
"It's what he would've wanted." Zach blankly told him. Jimmy looked down in disappointment but also a sense of common understanding.
Jimmy stood there, observing the beauty of the
Midnight blue sky. Reminding him a lot of his mother's favorite dark blue dress. But it also reminded him of a bad place in his life.. one which started as a special moment, turned into.. probably the worst night of his life. But he couldn't look back. No. This time, he'd look forward.
That's when he saw it, a gigantic circular object? It Was crashing down through the sky!? It caused a ripple through the atmosphere and a burning cosmic glow. The giant rock looking thing, crashed into the groans, causing a small earthquake!
Jimmy stumbled over a recliner and fell back.
Zach looked at Jimmy asking him what happened, Jimmy was in minor distress but he pointed up at the sky.
"I saw a weird object falling in the sky!" Jimmy picked himself up off the ground and walked closer to the window, then he gave Zach a look of shock, before he could reply.
"I knew it, this happened in my dream.. follow me!" Zach dashed out the door of the house, pulling Jimmy's arm behind him.
Both following the strange occurrence in this world.
At the scene of the object, there was 5 people in the group of our heroes that had ventured on to check this out. The group as a whole thought it might be best to send the "most strongest" of the group. Since Zach wasn't there at the moment to guide them.
In case this turned out to be extremely dangerous.
Notlok, Remi, Irene, Nightmare-ball, and Darny, all were the ones who had walked to the scene. Along with Pure Darwin. Oddly enough? Who.. followed them out. Even tho no one explicitly said he should go. He just complained and went.
Everyone just chalked up his behavior to him coping with his daughter being trapped in that monster, The Void. Coping with it, in his own odd way. By being more dangerous and complaining, and actually much more negative than usual.
"So, this thing just crashed down here out of nowhere?" Irene asked.
Notlok examined the front and back of this machine like thing? It was like a pod... more than an asteroid or rock? It was a pod. It was so odd.
"Yeah it did.. but I still wonder why?" Notlok brushed his hand against the wall of the machine. Further Continuing to question it.
Zach and Jimmy.. both finally made it over to the rest of the 6's examinations. On the scene.
They took a moment to breathe and regrouped themselves thoroughly. Now just skipping over greetings and getting straight into looking over this new found machine.
"Well, hello to you too?" Nightmare-ball sarcastically commented, Arms folded.
"Hey, sorry guys.. we were just talking about some stuff, with you know.. our current situation." Zach stated, looking over at each of them as a whole, then individually.
"Gumball, don't be so rude!" Darny scolded him, in their own kind of way, A kind of nice but stern form of speaking.
Nightmare-ball rolled his eyes and grunted loudly, purposefully doing so to show he was annoyed.
Darny, and Nightmare-ball both locking frustration filled glares.
"You know, I could end you in seconds, don't forget that!" Nightmare-ball threatened.
Darny let out one simple sarcastic "Ha!"
Nightmare-ball took a brief second to look at her in disbelief. For not being more afraid. "First of all, half of me is your girlfriend.. WHO IS NOT AFRAID OF YOU! Secondly, the other half is your brother.. WHO KNOWS YOUR LYING, and finally, if you could. You would've done so already!" Darny said with a smug grin. Arms folded and glued to her sides, and turning over to the side.
"Wait, him saying hello was rude?" Remi obliviously asked, genuinely confused on how this whole thing started.
Everyone stopped glaring at each other, and just stared blatantly at Remi. Either a confused look.. or a look that screams "Really dude?"
(If your device is compatible, you should now play "Heroes" by David Bowie. I decided to start adding the option of music, for an added effect)
Remi was still very obvious to their stares of awkwardness. The angel simply shrugged his shoulders, and replied with "what?" A simple response, with genuine concern for why they abruptly stopped, to stare at him.
"Look, enough of this arguing, how long has this thing been here? A few minutes?" Zach asked around.
Irene sucked her teeth to think about it for a second before agreeing and nodding.
"Yeah, probably like 5 minutes or so?" She replied to Zach.
Zach was starting to think of an idea on what this could be.. however, his time would be cut short on that. Whatever this thing was.. had opened from the back of the pod looking machine?
One similar to when Zach had arrived, however, bigger and more round?
When the backdoor opened.. there was a sort of steamy smoke that came seeping out! And a light emanated from it. Then.. three figures popped out of it. Two more taller figures, and one shorter person...
"Liam???" Notlok Said witnessing the arrival of his friend, strangely enough.
Liam remained silent and stepped forwards. While telling a kid to walk forward as well..
"Jacob, this is your father.. Notlok." Liam says to the boy, who strikes an uncanny resemblance to his father.
Notlok looks confused for a second, not worried or scared, just confused.. "huh? I have a son?" Notlok asked him.
Liam simply nodded, not speaking just a yet.
Notlok was not scared or worried, just dumbfounded. As he looked at Jacob.. a spitting image of himself and..
"Liam.. is Penny umm-" Notlok didn't finish his sentence, but Liam knew what he meant. And nodded, affirming that Penny is the mother.
Notlok bent down on one knee, to look at Jacob. He looked with- a new found amazement, a son?! While being so unexpected, he welcomed the new surprise with open arms.
"Uhh.. Hi Jacob? I guess I'm your dad? This is awkward, but I'm sure we can make things work, err- right?" Notlok awkwardly smiled.
Jacob, raised an eyebrow. Then sighed, "you don't have to act like I'm a small child, I know physically I am.. but mentally I am half as advanced as you.. which makes me probably the second most intelligent person here already?" Jacob spoke with his arms crossed.
Notlok, was speechless by that response. He was expecting a more kid-like reply. "Oh, O-Kaaayyy well then, that's nice, erm, nice for you and me I guess?" Notlok said unconfidently.
Nightmare- ball Grinned, and pat his back.
"Ha, way to nail that conversation, huh??"
Notlok rolled his eyes in annoyance, and stood back up.
"Whatever, Shut the hell up."
Then a third figure came out from the smoky shadows, it was in fact another character we've met before..
"Castiel, umm.. these are some of my friends and also other people from alternate worlds." Liam explained, no one still Quite knowing.. how he understood that yet? But brushing past it.
The only one in this gathering who had met Castiel was Zach, so he was the only one shocked about him, so far. The rest were just shocked at Liam's appearance only.. oh and of course Jacob.
"I thought... how are you alive? I saw him, stab you?" Zach questioned him, with a serious look.
Castiel turned to look at him, at first he looked him up and down in one quick strike of his eyes. Then, he remembered! He was the one who had showed up at his, house, Outside of space and time. Him, and the golden fairy woman?
Then his eyes widened for only a second, of realization.
"Ohh, you're the Cat who came on my doorstep? You're and the fairy, you both came to me, and I gave you a recipe for a spell! Wait.. tell me you've been doing that? Right??" Castiel approached him further, both men giving stern looks to each other.
Zach sighed in defeat. "No, I haven't.. there's been a lot to deal with since then! But I remember what I needed, and that's my next priority." Zach assured him aloud, for everyone else to just put it together. That Zach had a way to stop the Void, and didn't run it by them? Not even now.
"Wait, wait, wait... you're telling me, you had an answer to our crisis with the Void! And you kept it from us?" Notlok's eyebrows furrowed, in a mix of frustration and disappointment, That Zach would really lie.
Zach closed his eyes, and gritted his teeth, over the thought of this. Then he turned and faced Notlok. "Yes I did, I won't make excuses for the fact that I did lie on some part, but that's only because I was constructing plans for this expedition.. to retrieve certain artifacts." Zach looked down and his hand quivered for a moments breath.
"I just needed to be sure..." Zach calmly told him, while looking at him with truth.
Notlok stepped back one step and seemingly dropped the topic. Still somewhat annoyed, by his secretive Zach always is.
"So.. you haven't, alright then.. new plan, We train for my brothers arrival!" Castiel unknowingly drops a bombshell on the others.
"YOUR THE VOIDS BROTHER?!" Everyone (except Zach) says at once.
Castiel is startled by their response, but not surprised. Most people didn't even know Henry had a brother..
"Well yes, but look.. there will be time to explain during training.. starting, Tommorow.. right now, everyone scatter! I need to speak with the Older Cat, alone." Castiel seems to order them? At first they don't seem to listen, but for the sake of privacy.. they oblige.
Zach stares at Castiel, both looking at each other.. knowing the other should be dead?
"Well, you look really good, for a dead man... how'd you survive?" Zach reached out his hand for a shake, and a stern look, but warm smile.. a strange mix of authority and kindness.
Castiel grabbed his hand and shook it firmly. "I should be asking you the same thing, yeah.. word gets around.. you managed to make your way out of purgatory? After being mutilated by my brother, impressive.. for an old cat." He smirked.
Zach squinted his eyes, and reasserted himself. "How do you- you know what, never-mind.. just tell me how you're alive?" Zach insisted.
Castiel sighed and turned Around to face the tree. Liam and Jacob also intently waited to hear? Since aside from Zach and Castiel, they too were staring by. Listening in on the conversation at hand.
"I'm alive, because I'm resourceful and relentless.. those two don't mix well together, for dying easy- the official answer your looking for however, is simply that I used an old trick, I learned a long time ago." He stood forward, and raised his finger in-front of him.
Castiel's body began to vibrate at a fast frequency, then.. another Castiel was standing by the tree. At first Zach was alarmed, thinking it was a clone? However, after a further look through, he was more of like.. a mirror image of Castiel? Castiel raised his arm, so did the one by the tree, he took a step back, so did Castiel by the tree.
"Some neat trick, I guess? I'm going to assumed you used this to trick your brother into believing you're dead?" Zach crossed his arms and halted at him, not in anger, in observation!
Castiel smiled a little, just in a cocky nature. But soon closing out his mirror image double. Now only the one and REAL Castiel stood before Zach.
"Indeed, Zach.. there's- well, much work to be done for your group? I'm surprised the majority of you have managed to not die at the hands of my brother? He's only getting stronger.. and, if these people don't learn how to properly fight against him, they will die in minutes." Castiel turned to a serious death stare. One of worry, but concentrated worry.. desire, to not let these people die.
Zach looked back up at him, then down at his hand.
As his palm and wrist were finally still, He closed his eyes in thought.
Then he opened them and looked back up at Castiel..
"You're right, and I'm assuming you'll help me teach them?" Zach looked upon the Being, with desperation. As a leader, looks and openly admits for help, for his team's sake. And maybe even his own.
Castiel nodded once in agreement. The formerly stubborn man, now agreeing to help our fellow heroes. And turn them into proper soldiers, along with the help of Zach of course.
Both men would teach them the art of combat, properly this time. But this task would now be easy.. most of the group would have to learn and be taught differently from each other.
How to use THEIR abilities and skills uniquely fitted to the best versions of themselves. They'd need to be taught harshly, but in a fair way. If that makes a blink of sense?
After his conversation with Castiel, Zach walked towards Pure Darwin. Noticing his presence, oddly enough?
Zach walked towards him, to see him leaning against the outside wall for one of the houses.
"How are you holding up?" Zach calmly asked.
Pure Darwin sucked his teeth, and looked up at the moon. For a train of thought. "Shitty, how about you?" He stared at him.
Zach paused to think, then agreeing in a quiet whispery sigh. "Shitty, just about sums it." Zach blankly repeated back.
"I know.. I'm just worried about my daughter, my wife, heh.. my brother! And even mom and dad?" Pure Darwin continued to look at the moon.
Zach, squinted his eyes. Glaring at Pure Darwin, up and down. Investigating every detail of his body.. he just heard something he couldn't believe.. and, his gut told him to act on it, here and now!!
Zach used his elbow and other fist, to violently press and smush this Darwin against the wall, leaving one small crack behind him, on the wall from the force.
People near by, noticed this immediately! A few of the group members came running up in close observance.
"What the hell is wrong with you? Let my husband go!" Carrie angrily demanded.
Zach gritted his teeth, and looked back at the mother version of Carrie. "You don't understand, he's not who you think he is! I don't know who the hell he is, but I know he's not your Darwin.." Zach grunted, pushing him further against the wall.
"ZACH! your acting irrational? What did I do.. it's me, I'm the real me!" Pure Darwin pleaded, wrapping his arms against Zach's, trying to push him off.
"Stop pretending! I've already got you figured out, Lucifer." Zach glared at him harder.
The rest of the group nearby, which was most of them at this point, all Gasped almost simultaneously.
Pure Darwin continued to struggle, removing Zach off him.. and looked panicked. Until... he didn't?
Slowly, he went from panicked.. to calm. Then, his grin grew wider and wider.. until a signature, DEVILish grin formed on the fish's face.
"Well, well, well, only been back less than an hour, and already figured it out.. while it took the rest of you mortals 2 days, and your leader to point it out? Heh, I find that quite amusing." Lucifer smiled and waved his hand, slowly moving Zach aside with relative ease.
Lucifer, in Pure Darwin's body, chuckled.. as he began to levitate in-front of his audience.. and confined to Grin.
"Now listen before you think I'm an evil being who did this forcefully! Remember.. I need permission to use a vessel... so your guys fish boy here said yes, I have it all in document." Lucifer gazed among them. A wave of black and blood red aura swirled him. Showing Lucifer's powers at hand. His eyes also a bright Red glowing color.
Zach thought and looked around, unfortunately knowing he was right?
"Guys.. he's actually telling the truth?! Ugh, but why would He ever surrender his body to you??" Zach angrily clenched his fists.
Lucifer rolled his eyes and laughed.. at his ignorance. "You foolish cat, haha.. he didn't surrender.. we worked out a deal! I will
Use his body during night or when the time shall come to pass, during any battle. While he will
Use his body during the day. You think I wanted to be in this body? I'm doing this to help you all!" Lucifer rolled his eyes yet again, and scoffed. "Ungrateful mortals."
"We need.. we need to speak to my son? Can you, awaken him or whatever you do." Grandma Nicole requested, but truthfully demanded more than she asked.
Lucifer dropped slowly back down to the ground. He took a few steps forward towards her. Scaring her a little, but not enough for her to move away.
Then, Lucifer snapped his fingers and Pure Darwin opened his eyes.
"Hey... - Mom, and everyone?" He looked around, as they stared at him with either disappointment or subtle disbelief.
"Darwin, you know I love you.. BUT WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!" Carie rages out a little in her husband's face.
Pure Darwin, understanding her anger at first. And even everyone else's confused thoughts on this matter.
"I understand all of your guys, judgement! But please.. know that I signed a universal contract, he's legally and well, based on the bounds of hell, he's obligated to abide by the contract." Pure Darwin pleaded his case against them all.
Zach sighed. "You felt this was the best, Lucifer is one of the most powerful beings in the universe at full strength.. and, you want to bring your daughter back, nephew- brother, all of them and more... you felt this would make you more useful in battles, even if your not always in control." Zach placed his hand on Pure Darwin's shoulder, comfortingly. At first being distressed, but now understanding more.
"Well, you made a hard choice.. and I respect that." Zach looked at him with some approval. Trying to.. grow as a person, and knowing almost every Darwin's in every universe are pure of heart.. he knew Darwin didn't do this out of greed, or succumbing to his rage? No.. Darwin did this because he truly believes it's best for now.
Carrie looks at Zach with disgust in the moment and an annoyed glare. "What is wrong with you?? Tell me him he's wrong, tell him that he can't do this!!! He can't let his LUCIFER, TAKE CONTROL?!" Carrie yelled at Zach, getting close to his face.
Zach refused this and remained silent. Satisfied with his choice of words previously.
Carrie grunted and grabbed Pure Darwin's arm, and looked to the rest of the group around them.
"I need to speak with you, ALONE!" She said before teleporting her husband and herself to the bedroom they've been sleeping in.
Everyone else stood around, of course.. quite literally shocked? But, given all the new things that they've learned, seen, and even experienced! You could say they're desensitized to these incredibly unreal situations.
Whether that makes them stronger or weaker, is up to them both individually.. and as a whole.
"Everybody, it's past midnight.. you should all
Return to your bedrooms and rest, tomorrow will
Be a tough day! one with promise, but only if your heads are in order." Zach told everyone, walking back into one of the houses, and closing the sliding glass door to a backyard.
"Am I the only one who thinks, he's always a little off?" Notlok remarks, not to anyone in particular. Just a general statement.
Nicole Prime, scoffed at his comment. "Maybe we're all a little off.." she responded with, walking away as well.
Slowly, one by one, the group members returned to wherever they were staying in. Whatever house and room, and whatnot?
Notlok thought a bit about Nicole's response to him. Standing still in thought.
Notlok muttered to himself,
"more than a little..."

The next morning, since last night when he showed up. Jimmy woke up, with a blanket over him. On the couch.. he assumed Danielle placed it over him.
He woke up to Judith standing over him, which made him jumpy and startled him. "WOAH.. hey, oh- yeah.. ohh my bad." Jimmy realized, it was Judith.
"You must be the Judith, I've heard so much about? My name is Jimmy." He lightened his expression with a hearty smile.
Judith nodded, but smiling still. Just with a blank, poker face. "Yes, I am Judith and I'm 6 years old, sorry for scaring you, some of other kids say I'm.. I think- Creepy, if that was the word?" Judith looks down, to reflect over that.
Jimmy felt a little bad, so he smiled softly and tried to cheer her up. "I beg to differ, you were watching over me? That means you're observing my surroundings to make sure I'm safe! Now that's, noble, and very thoughtful of you Judith." He smiled and dusted himself off a bit, from all the dust that was on him.
Judith went from her observant gaze, to a faint smile.
"Thank you.. but why are you on our couch anyway?" She raised an eyebrow and held her hands on her hips.
"Umm.. well, I didn't have there else to stay for the night, not anymore-" Jimmy looked down at the floor while speaking.
"And I'm a friend of your moms, so she's letting
Me stay here for a bit.. because she's a really good person." Jimmy meant what he spoke.
Judith nods in agreement, and sits down next to him.. she started talking about cats, then.. Fish, Then how her favorite animal of all, was bunny rabbits! And how this world was just SO amazing around them.
They bonded over that short half hour conversation.
"Judith! You're so late!!! You were supposed to leave 10 minutes ago, you better run now, if you don't want to be even more late, YOUNG LADY!" Judith called as she walked into the living room, having no idea She was still There talking to Jimmy.
"Oh well, it was nice meeting you Jimmy! Gotta run-bye." Judith ran like an Olympic medalist out the door!
Jimmy smiled and waved at her. As he heard one last yell from outside.
"And don't kiss my mom please!" Judith made one last cheeky comment from outside the door.
Both adults grinning at each other. Danielle feeling good that the two met, and seemed to have a really good conversation! This feeling as nice.
A month has passed by since we last left off. On the morning Judith first met Jimmy.
A blaring noise could be heard, disturbing Jimmy.. a Loud and eerie noise. As Jimmy rubbed his eyes awake, he pounded his fist down on his alarm clock. Ending the upsetting screams that the alarm clock produced.
He sat up slowly, and stretched his arms up and over, a subtle pain in his back, irritating him.
He rubbed his eyes awake. Looking in-front of him, to see Danielle. She was already up and cooking something?
But the noticeable thing is, she was dancing around, a bit? With a radio playing music.
Jimmy looks up and admires her, for a moment. The way she dances and twirled around was entrancing! And.. all the while cooking eggs?
Danielle was having a fun time dancing- until she noticed Jimmy watching her, she stopped for a second to stare at him back.
"Well, someone's up now, about time.. why'd you set that alarm for 8? Everyone knows you should start the day at 6 am?" She mocked him for staying in bed.
Jimmy rolled his eyes and smiled. He slowly got up from the couch, and walked over to the counter.
"Nice eggs, oh and haha- nice moves too." Jimmy joked with her.
He looked around at how quiet the house was?
"Where's Judith, Is she at school?" Jimmy asked,
Danielle held her hand over her mouth and chuckled at his forgetfulness, "Jimmy, you know she walks to school everyday at 7:30 am?" She crossed her arms.
"Oh right... sorry I forgot?" Jimmy admitted, a little embarrassed, because it's been a month.
"I'm very sorry, sometimes it just slips my mind?" Jimmy openly admits about himself being obvious at times.
Danielle, made a simple "MHM" noise, in teasing mockery.
"I know, I know.. me staying here is probably a bad thing, it's.. I'm just, oh my god. I still haven't found a job! I've been looking! But.. no one's hiring, Unfortunately.. and I'm just freeloading, and taking advantage of a poor single mother and her daughter- Oh my god I'm an awful person!!" Jimmy kept rambling on about how bad he was being, and all this negativity.. and he was like
The embodiment of Anxiety right now.
Danielle, at first thought he was joking.. and giggled a bit. But the more he spoke, the even more serious he sounded! It was worrying her.. and she started shushing him.
"Jimmy, Jimmy! JIMMY!" She caught his attention by the third loudest Jimmy.
Jimmy turned to face her, and as he shut up... Danielle wrapped her arms around his neck and held him in close, for a loving kiss. A comforting kiss, to ease his sorrows.
As their lips departed, she spoke softly to him. "Jimmy, first of all, you're not a freeloader.
