The next week Jungkook was on cloud nine, finally Jimin was giving him his undivided attention and they were secretly observing Yoongi and Taehyung.
Everything seemed like a blur and few more weeks passed by, Yoongi had been obviously attentive to Tae but was it enough to be considered serious to get into a relationship or was it just a harmless crush Jungkook didn't know. Honestly, it was his first time dealing with such things while Jimin was referencing all moments with K-Drama scenes was absolutely enduring to him.
Jimin had always been a hopeless romantic and he definitely wanted his best friend to get his love story even if he deep down believed that it would never happen to him.
Jimin, Tae and Jungkook was spend hours analyzing Yoongi's actions and how his behavior was special towards Tae. Jungkook would supply stories from Yoongi's past and their childhood. But Tae was conflicted, he couldn't make up his mind and hated the feeling that he might be leading Yoongs on. It was a conundrum.
Tae always did things he truly believed in and unless he was completely convinced even god couldn't make him do it. He wanted some sign from his angels that this is it. Till now he never had any issues casually flirting with people without any consequences but with Yoongi it tugged his heart whenever that tundra blushed or turned soft for him.
Just like two weeks back when Tae had complained that the drama club was having internal competitions so that they can have an official team by the end of the year and he so badly wanted to be a part of it. Yoongi without any hesitation was the first one to say, "Not taking you will be their biggest mistake." Leaving a very red Tae who mumbles a small 'thank you' and continued his rant. Even as they were leaving, Yoongi reassured Tae with a smile and gentle pat on the back. Leading to an emotional Tae hugging him and him screaming "Hajimaaa (don't)" with a huge smile on his face.
"So, do you think he will actually believe it? I can't believe Tae hyung is afraid of feeling. Literally once a week he tells all of us how much he loves us but when it comes to his 'Yoongs' he gets tongue tied." Jungkook grumbled pulling his hair. His patience was wearing thin, he just wanted to bump those two idiots heads against each other and make them confess.
"You never had a crush did you?" Jimin asked making Jungkook's eyes go rounder in shock.
"What? I-I I have. Maybe. I'm not really sure what it feels like."
"No wonder you don't realize how complicated it can get. Plus, Tae looks all cool and composed but he get insecure too. I don't think he's had deep feelings for someone before this."
Jimin internally cursed himself for getting a little hopeful about a certain doe eyed he was developing feeling for. Jungkook was slowly becoming shameless and lots of time bunking with Jimin in his dorm room as it was too late to go back. Even thought Tae and Jimin offered to walk in home, he blatantly refused saying he's too tired after their Yoongi analysis.
Jungkook once even confronted a dreamy Yoongi who had written a love song with Namjoon called "Just one day". But Yoongi being Yoongi swift diverted the topic to Jungkook's closeness saying, "Lover boy, maybe you should focus on Jiminie, shouldn't you?"
"No, we are just best friends and he treats me like his dongsaeng (younger brother). He has mention that I remind of his younger brother. Plus don't divert the topic hyung." Jungkook said with a pout, not sure why that felt like a prick to his heart.
"Yeah right, say it with more conviction and I'll believe you." Then they exchanged a knowing look which Jungkook knew that if he traded these waters he will have to face his own feeling which whenever he tried to understand left him feeling overwhelmed.
Although when he narrated this incident to Jimin he carefully omitted some parts but mentioned that Yoongi had chided him for it. Jimin also ended up explaining that confronting Yoongi was a bad idea as it might lead to him going deeper into his shell which begrudgingly Jungkook accepted.
"But Jiminie hyungie. I wanna help them but don't know how. Plus its almost time for winter break. Are you going back to Busan?"
"I know, Jungkookie but you can't force people together, we can just nudge them. And yes I'm going home for holidays what about you."
Jungkook cracked a huge smile and jumped with childlike excitement, "Me too. Let's go to Busan together." Jimin could never say no to his ray on sunshine. He was happy just seeing him smile, "Sure"
Jin's birthday was around the corner causing ruckus due to planning and organizing of the party as usually Jin was the party organizer and till now with the help of Yoongi he had always secretly planned his own birthday parties. Yoongi always picked up on the subtle hints Jin use to leave for the trip of party he wanted, what flavor cake he desired or if he just wanted a simple pizza party. Jin and Yoongi always had this special bond despite being so different than each other. Jin was the only hyung to Yoongi who understood the challenges he had to overcome. To others Yoongi was a great hyung calm and reliable while when he was with Jin he could be the dongsaeng.
But this year Namjoon was determined to make it his best birthday as it was their last one together. One of the main problems was that Namjoon was bad at keeping secrets. In all their years together even before they became boyfriends Jin was able to guess what surprise he had planned.
They divided chores for the event. Yoongi and Jimin was in charge of cooking and the cake, Taehyung, Hoseok and Jungkook were responsible for cleaning and decorations, while Namjoon was on flower duty. It was no surprise that Jin loved pink and bright elegant decorations.
