Izuku wasn't sure how he felt about meeting his boyfriends' families. Sure, Eijiro, Katsuki and Shoto were kind to him, but that didn't mean their families would be. His boyfriends knew his boundaries and were careful when approaching something new with him. And it didn't matter how much the alpha's reassured Izuku that their families would love him; he still had anxiety and was still more than unsure about the situation.
They had come to an agreement, they wouldn't do it all at once but instead spread it through the week and (in Shoto's case) keep it to parents, so Izuku wouldn't get overwhelmed. He could do that.
He hoped he could do that.
The first to visit was Shoto's mother, Rei. Izuku was more than relieved when Shoto told him his father would never be invited over, so his mother (and siblings once he was more comfortable) were the only ones he'd need to meet.
Izuku was hiding behind Eijiro when the doorbell rang. He was scared out of his mind, but he wanted to make his boyfriends happy. Besides, it was one person. If Shoto's mother was anything like Shoto, it should be easy.
"It'll be okay," Eijiro whispered to him, running a hand through his hair while Shoto went to open the door.
He heard Shoto greeting his mother and tried to steady his breathing. Shoto said she was nice, so he didn't have to worry, and if he needed space, they would understand.
Shoto led her into the living room, and Eijiro tried to have Izuku come out from hiding by putting his arm around his waist and pulling him forward a few steps. He kept his hand on Izuku's waist still, knowing it was a reassuring presence for the omega to have.
"Izuku, this is my mother, Rei," he gestured to the older woman. She was beautiful, with long white hair and stormy grey eyes. Other than Shoto's blue eye, he looked almost exactly like her.
Izuku gave a shy wave. "H-hi."
Rei smiled sweetly at him. "Hello, dear, it is nice to meet you finally. Shoto has told me all about you."
Izuku tried to look up at Rei; it was the polite thing to do, after all, but ended up staring at the ground. "Nice- nice to meet you." His voice stayed quiet, and he tried to take a steadying breath, but there was only so much he could do.
"You okay?" Eijiro whispered, squeezing the omega's waist gently and rubbing his side.
Izuku nodded, though he wasn't sure he was really okay. He could feel his anxiety building, but he could convince himself everything was going to be okay if he was with his boyfriends.
They all sat around the living room, Izuku curled up against Shoto's side. Katsuki sat on the other side of him while Eijiro grabbed the charcuterie that had been prepared beforehand.
"I was excited when Shoto said I could finally come to meet you," Rei said softly to kick off the conversation. "I had been looking forward to this since he mentioned you the first time."
Izuku wasn't really sure how to respond to that. Having people who were excited to meet him was a new feeling. "Oh- umm, thank you?" he muttered, his eyes drifting to the side.
"I hope Shoto is treating you well, and the others too, of course," she continued, correctly assuming Izuku wouldn't say much on his own.
Izuku looked at her in almost shock, appalled Rei could insinuate that they were anything other than perfect with him. "O-of course they are! They're amazing-" He blushed at his own outburst and looked back at his lap, fidgeting with his hands. "They're always amazing," he said quieter. He tried to stop the thought that he didn't deserve it, but it didn't matter how many times he was told he deserved love and affection. It would always be hard to believe it.
Shoto squeezed his side gently and kissed his forehead. "Thank you, love." It really did mean a lot when Izuku said they were amazing. "I don't think you have anything to worry about, Mom."
Izuku nodded to Shoto's statement, and Rei smiled softly again. "I know." It was said in a playful way that made Izuku feel like he could relax.
Izuku couldn't help but smile a little bit as well.
The topic drifted, and Izuku was thankful they weren't focused on him the whole time Rei was there. She was lovely, but Izuku rather sit back and watch the interaction between his boyfriends and her instead of participating. It would have the added benefits of Izuku not worrying he was going to say something wrong, and he could learn more about Rei.
The next day, Eijiro's parents came to visit. Izuku insisted that he was okay, and he was honestly just hoping to get all the introductions over with. The alphas were still a little hesitant, seeing how exhausted Izuku had seemed the night before, but in the end, Eijiro's parents still stopped by.
Knowing what to expect (to an extent), Izuku tried not to be too worried. According to his boyfriends, Eijiro's parents were extremely kind, and they would absolutely adore Izuku.
This wasn't exactly reassuring since Izuku was 90% sure that 'adoring' him would subsequently overwhelm him. But he had already insisted to his boyfriends that he'd be fine, so he needed to be fine. He had already managed to meet Shoto's mom; he could meet Eijiro's as well.
It was just past lunch when there was a knock on the door.
Eijiro smiled brightly and answered the door while Izuku leaned into Katsuki. The blond alpha's arms rested around Izuku's waist comfortably. "Relax, baby," Katsuki said. "You get overwhelmed, tell me." Of course, Katsuki could tell he was getting antsy; he could always tell when he was starting to overthink.
Izuku nodded. "Okay," he whispered. "I will."
Eijiro brought his parents in and gave introductions.
They were two lovely women, an alpha and a beta.
Eijiro must have told them to keep their greetings down because they only gave a smile and a short "nice to meet you, Izuku." Izuku could tell they wanted to gush, one already looking like she wanted to scoop Izuku up into a hug or something. That must be where Eijiro got it from.
Izuku tried to smile as well as he waved. "Yeah- nice to meet you too." He subconsciously leaned more of his weight into Katsuki.
"How have you been? I'm sure the boys have been doting on you plenty." Eijiro's mom, Akari asked. She had a kind smile that matched Eijiro's, and it brought some ease.
Izuku nodded a little bit, his eyes falling to the ground. "I-I've been good."
And then came more questions. One that sort of stuck with Izuku was when they asked about his birthday. He didn't know when his birthday was. It was never celebrated at the OHC, and none of his owners cared enough to either. He had a vague recollection of celebrating with his mother before being taken away... but the date and specifications were a blur.
This also got the attention of the alphas. How had they not thought about this?
"We'll have to see if it's in Izuku's file," Shoto said. "If not, we can take a guess." He had tried reading through it when Izuku was first brought to them, but the details of what was in there made his stomach churn.
Izuku didn't really care; it was just a birthday. But if they wanted to celebrate Izuku's birthday, then he wouldn't stop them.
Eijiro's moms asked Shoto and Katsuki how their families were, and Izuku found himself able to relax better with fewer questions directed toward him. He could fall into a quiet roll as he had with Shoto's mom.
"Katsuki's parents are coming to visit soon as well," Shoto informed. "To meet Izuku."
"That will be lovely," Eijiro's ma said with a smile. "And what about Shoto's family? Have you met them yet?" She asked, turning to Izuku.
Izuku blinked a few times, processing the question since he hadn't been fully paying attention. "I- I met his mother yesterday."
"It was nice seeing her again, but she didn't stay too long. She had had other important things to get to," Eijiro told them.
Izuku nodded a little bit in agreement.
The conversation drifted, and Izuku was able to relax the longer they talked. By the end of their time together, Izuku was laughing (though quieter and shyer than his usual laugh) along to some terrible jokes and shyly telling a few that he had heard his boyfriend tell before.
Eijiro, Katsuki and Shoto were pleased to see Izuku coming out of his shell, even if it was just a tiny bit.
"Thank you again for inviting us," Eijiro's mom said with a smile. "And it was nice meeting you, Izuku; if you need anything, just call, OK?"
Izuku gave a small nod, though he wasn't sure he'd be taking them up on that offer if something were to happen. "N-nice meeting you too."
Eijiro's parents smiled and said the rest of their goodbyes before leaving.

In all honesty, it was Katsuki's parents that Izuku was most worried about meeting. According to his boyfriends, Katsuki and his mother, Mitsuki, got into arguments often, and he was not looking forward to that. He was worried it would be too much. What if they started yelling? Or if there was an actual fight? Would she yell at Izuku? Would she try to get into an argument with him?
Katsuki tried to reassure him that they'd be on their best behaviour today and tried convincing him that the last thing his 'old hag' would do was yell at Izuku. But it was hard to believe those words.
Izuku tried to smile when Katsuki's parents walked through the door, but he still hid partly behind his boyfriends when they came in.
Katsuki was almost a mirror image of his mother. Beautiful red eyes and blond hair in the same style. She didn't look mean. She looked almost ethereal with how her skin glowed.
He was given a kind smile from the couple, and Izuku tried to return it. They seemed kind enough.
The conversation followed just about the same track as the past two meetings. Izuku was able to relax more when he saw Mitsuki wasn't going to be arguing with Katsuki and was able to see the way they interacted was more... endearing than scary.
"You know, Izuku, you look a lot like an old friend of mine. I haven't talked to her since she moved a few prefectures away, but you have a striking resemblance to how I remember her," Mitsuki told him with a smile.
"Are you talking about Inko?" Masaru asked his wife.
Inko?
The name was familiar, though he hadn't heard it since he was little.
"Midoriya Inko, yes," Mitsuki clarified with a sad smile.
Izuku perked up at that, and it seemed to click for his boyfriends as well. Though it hadn't been much, Izuku had mentioned his mother in passing. It was usually brought up if he was having a bad day that he missed her. They had tried to find her, but their search had turned up empty. None of them had thought maybe one of their parents would have ties to Inko.
"You knew Izuku's mother?" Eijiro asked first.
"Oh, I'm not sure she was his mother," Mitsuki explained. She could see the hope in all of them, and the last thing she wanted to do was raise hope, only for her to be wrong.
"Izuku's last name is Midoriya," Katsuki told her. "And his mother was named Inko."
Izuku was still rather stunned. The last thing he had expected from today was to meet someone who potentially knew his mother.
He didn't remember much; he would have been six the last time he saw her. He would have been six when he was taken away...
Izuku curled his knees into his chest. He had so many questions but wasn't sure how to ask or even if Katsuki's parents would know.
"I can't imagine Inko being the type of mother to sell her child to the O.H.C.," Mitsuki muttered in thought, brows furrowing.
Izuku lent into Shoto's side. It wasn't his mother. The memories were coming back, and he really didn't want to relive them right now.
Shoto tightened his hold around Izuku's waist and gave Katsuki's parents a smile. "I think Izuku's had a little too much social time today. I'm sorry to ask you to leave so early."
Masaru glanced at Izuku before he stood up and gave a small bow. "We understand, thank you for having us."
Mitsuki stood as well. "Yes, thank you." Her eyes lingered on Izuku. "If you'd like, Izuku, I can try to contact Inko, and I can see if she really is..."
Izuku didn't say anything, but he did nod after a moment of thought. If it was his mother, she knew... he wanted to know. He needed to know.
Katsuki's parents said goodbye again before heading out, leaving Izuku with his boyfriends.
"Are you okay?" Eijiro asked Izuku. "That was a big bombshell to be dropped."
Izuku turned his face into Shoto's neck and nodded.
"Are you done talking for now?" Shoto asked, running a hand through the omega's hair.
Izuku nodded.
