Lily's mum said her goodbyes as she needed to head home, before she went, she had one request,
"Can we get a picture together?"
Lily's mom asked, her voice full of warmth. Demi nodded eagerly, stepping closer to the older woman. They both posed, smiling brightly for the camera. As soon as the flash went off, Lily's mom gave them both a quick hug and kiss on the cheek before heading out the door. Demi needed to do one more thing,
"Wait up!" Demi shouted, running out of the door,
"What? Have I left something." Lily's mum turned around with a curious expression on her face. Demi smiled, trying to sound as nonchalant as possible.
"I noticed you were wearing some of my merch and I happen to have a pen on me!" Demi said, holding up a black sharpie. Lily's mom smiled and accepted it, Demi writing her signature on the shirt.
"That's so sweet of you, dear. You take good care of my Lily, you hear?" she said, giving Demi's hand a gentle squeeze. Demi nodded, feeling a warmth spread through her chest.
Back inside the apartment, Lily was pouring them both a cup of tea. "So, what do you want to do now?" she asked, sitting down on the couch next to Demi. The two of them sipped their tea in comfortable silence for a moment, enjoying each other's company.
As Demi took another sip of her tea, she felt a lump forming in her throat. She didn't want to tell Lily this thought yet, but she needed to. She needed her best friend to know. She took a deep breath and then slowly exhaled. "There's something I need to tell you, Lil," she said, her voice slightly shaky.
Lily set her tea down on the coffee table and turned to face Demi. "What is it? You can tell me anything, you know that."
Demi swallowed hard, her mouth suddenly dry. She wanted to say it, but the words seemed to catch in her throat. Finally, she forced them out: "I um.. I might be umm.. yknow like... umm... what's the word... Bi?"
Lily's eyes widened in surprise, and for a moment she didn't say anything. Then, she reached out and took Demi's hand in hers. "Oh, Demi," she said softly.
Demi felt a mix of emotions: relief that she'd finally said it, fear of what Lily's reaction might be, and hope that her best friend would understand. She squeezed Lily's hand back, grateful for her friend's support.
Lily took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "Oh, Demi," she repeated, her voice full of warmth and understanding. "I'm so glad you told me." She paused, thinking for a moment. "And... I mean, I'm a lesbian, so you know I'd take it well." She trailed off, blushing a little.
Demi felt a wave of relief wash over her. Of course Lily would understand. They'd been through so much together, they knew each other inside and out. She squeezed Lily's hand, feeling an overwhelming sense of gratitude for her friend. "I'm so glad you understand," she said, her voice shaking with emotion. "I mean, I know you're lesbian and everything, but I just... I wanted you to know. I don't want anything to change between us."
"Like I've been thinking about it for a bit. I'm still not fully sure, still kinda in denial yknow.."
Lily smiled, squeezing Demi's hand reassuringly. "That's okay. Take your time. I'm here for you, no matter what." She paused, then added, "And... if you ever want to talk about it more, or just talk about how you're feeling... I'm here for that too."
They sat in silence for a moment, lost in their own thoughts, before Lily spoke up. "So, what do you want to do tonight? I've got some alcohol." They both smirked at each other, the two used to drink together when they were 18.
"You know I can't drink as much as I used to," Demi said with a laugh, remembering the countless times they had gotten wasted together. "I need to be careful now. I'm in the best shape of my life, after all."
"You used to drink like an alcoholic, fucking hell. You down to getting drunk though?" Lily grinned, knowing full well that Demi would never turn down a good time, even if she had to be careful. They both laughed, the sound filling the room and casting a warm glow on their faces. The air between them felt electric, as if they were both remembering the countless nights they had spent together, laughing and drinking until the sun came up.
"Of course." Demi smirked, feeling a thrill of excitement run through her. Despite the changes in their lives, the familiarity of their friendship felt as comfortable as ever. They had been through so much together, survived countless obstacles and hardships. The thought made her heart swell with affection for Lily.
They drank, laughing and reminiscing about old times. Lily told stories of her wild college days, while Demi shared moments from her time in the spotlight. The alcohol loosened their tongues, and they spoke with an honesty that only came with the safety of their long-standing friendship. They discussed their fears, their hopes, and their dreams.
It seemed that Demi completely forgot about drinking in moderation as she drank round after round with Lily. Her cheeks flushed, her laughter grew louder, and the alcohol loosened her inhibitions. She found herself confessing things she hadn't even told Lily before, things that she had never admitted to anyone. She told her about the times she had doubted herself, the fear of failure that had haunted her dreams, and the self-doubt that had plagued her even at the height of her success.
Lily listened intently, her eyes never leaving Demi's face. She knew her friend better than anyone, and she could see the vulnerability and honesty shining through the alcohol-fueled haze. As Demi rambled on, she found herself feeling a mix of emotions - pride, affection, sadness, and even a hint of longing. She had always known that Demi was special, but hearing her open up like this made her realize just how much the world had taken away from her friend.
"You know, Demi," Lily said softly, her voice barely audible over the music, "You're so strong. You've been through so much, and you've always managed to keep your head above water. It's not fair that people expect you to be perfect all the time. It's okay to feel lost or confused."
She took Demi's hand in hers, squeezing it gently. "And you know what? If you ever want to explore that side of yourself... with a girl... I mean, if you want to try something new, I'm here for you. I'll be there, no matter what." Her words were soft but firm, and there was a newfound tenderness in her voice that Demi hadn't heard before, she was intrigued.
Demi looked at Lily, feeling a mixture of emotions course through her. She had thought about the possibility of exploring her sexuality with another woman, but something about the way Lily was looking at her, the way she was offering her support, made her feel... different.
"I... I don't know what to say," she stammered, her words slurring. "I mean, I've always... I've always been curious, I guess. But I've never... I've never had anyone like you, you know?"
Lily smiled warmly, her heart racing. "I know what you mean," she said softly. "It's scary sometimes, isn't it? To admit these things to yourself, let alone to someone else?"
She leaned in closer, their faces mere inches apart. Demi could feel the heat from Lily's body, the intoxicating scent of her perfume filling her nose. "But you know," Lily continued, her voice barely above a whisper, "I've always wondered... what it would be like... if we... we're together..."
Demi's heart raced as she listened to Lily's words, her mind spinning with possibilities. She knew that what they were discussing was taboo, something that neither of them had ever considered before. But the alcohol had lowered their inhibitions, made them both bolder than they had ever been.
"Lily," she whispered, her voice shaking slightly, "I... I've always thought about it too." She took a deep breath, feeling a mixture of fear and excitement coursing through her veins. "I mean, not that I've ever acted on it or anything, but..." Her words trailed off, leaving the air between them charged with anticipation.
Lily leaned in even closer, her lips mere millimeters from Demi's ear. "Tonight," she whispered, her breath sending shivers down Demi's spine, "tonight could be our chance." She could feel the heat emanating from Demi's body, the desire that pulsed beneath her skin. It was intoxicating, and it made her want to explore this newfound attraction even more.
Demi closed her eyes, the feel of Lily's breath against her ear sending a wave of pleasure coursing through her. She had never experienced anything like this before, and the idea of exploring it further was both thrilling and terrifying. But the way Lily was looking at her, the way she was touching her, made it impossible to resist.
"Tonight," Demi whispered back, her voice barely audible over the music, "tonight could definitely be our chance." She leaned in closer, their bodies pressing together, and for a moment they simply held each other, lost in the moment. It felt so right, so natural, as if they had been meant to be together all along. Lily was going crazy, it didn't feel real.
Demi took the speaker, blasting music and walked into Lily's bedroom, she knew where this was heading.
They danced together in the room, moving in perfect unison, their lips mere inches apart, their breath mingling in the air between them. The music pulsed through them, driving them closer and closer, until Demi couldn't tell where Lily ended and she began. She ran her hands up and down Lily's back, feeling the soft skin beneath her fingertips, the firm muscles beneath.
Lily moaned softly, her head thrown back, her eyes closed. She had never felt this way before, this combination of desire and need. It was as if her body had been waiting for this moment, for this person, to come along and awaken something deep within her. She wrapped her arms around Demi, pulling her closer still, wanting to feel every inch of her skin against her own.
As they danced, their bodies moving in perfect sync, Lily began to lose herself in the sensation. She could feel the heat radiating off of Demi, the softness of her skin, the way her hips swayed against hers. She leaned in, their lips inches apart, and whispered, "I want you, Demi."
And finally the moment happened. All the sleepless nights and dreams about Demi could be put to rest, Lily could finally feel Demi's soft lips against hers, could feel the heat of her body. They collapsed on the bed, still wrapped around each other, their lips locked in a passionate kiss. The music pulsed through the room, fueling their desire, as their hands explored each other's bodies with a desperate urgency.
Demi was on top of Lily, their bodies moving together in perfect harmony as the music pounded through the room. Her lips found Lily's, and they kissed with a passion that left them both gasping for air. Her hands roamed over Lily's back, feeling the soft skin beneath her fingertips, the firm muscles beneath. She could feel the heat emanating from Lily's core, and it sent a wave of desire coursing through her own body.
Lily wrapped her legs around Demi's waist, pulling her closer still. She ran her hands through Demi's hair, feeling the soft strands slip through her fingers. Their kiss deepened, becoming more urgent, more demanding. The music seemed to fade into the background as they were consumed by their own desire for one another.
Demi broke the kiss for a moment, her breath coming in ragged gasps. She looked down at Lily, their faces flushed and lips swollen from their kisses.
"I'm definitely Bi."
Lily smiled up at her, a mix of happiness and relief on her face. She reached up, trailing her fingers down Demi's cheek before cupping her jaw. "And I'm definitely gay," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the music. "I think we're going to have a lot of fun exploring this together."
