Robb finds out what Tywin has on his wife and he and Kevan come to an understanding. Serena, Sansa and Myrcella spend some time together. I hope you guys like it. 🥰
Robb Stark had never been the most patient man and he had made several mistakes. He had not been able to save his father and he had left his sisters at the mercy of the Lannisters. He had been lucky when the Hound had shown up with Aria, but Serena and Sansa were still in Kings Landing. Robb had the chance to exchange the kingslayer for his sisters, but he had been so empowered by all the battles he had won and by his Bannerman naming him king that he had lost sight of what was important for a while. Then he made the mistake of breaking a promise he had made and wed a woman he barely knew while he was promised to another. Now he was losing the war he had fought so hard to win and he had just found out that Serena had been wed to Tywin Lannister. Robb did not trust the man and now they were family.
He had been surprised when he received the letter from Tywin Lannister talking about peace and warning him about one of his Bannerman. Robb had left with a few guards and met with Tywin's brother Kevan. He had to admit the man was not as harsh as his older brother and if he had not been a Lannister Robb would have liked him. As the man talked Robb felt more and more stupid, he could not believe he had not seen all the betrayal going on around him. Robb should have listened to his father and known better than to trust Bolton. He had already been betrayed by his best friend, why would he believe that a Bolton would have been any different? Robb sat in his chair and made sure not to show any emotion as Kevan showed him proof of Roose Bolton's betrayal and the plans that had been concocted to kill him and most of his family.
"And you want me to believe that Tywin Lannister is willing to have peace with me and give up the North after everything you have just told me?" Robb's voice was harsh. "He planned to kill me."
"Yes, but since he is now married to your sister he does not want to kill you and have Serena kill him while he sleeps." Robb resisted the urge to smile, his sister could instill fear in people when she wanted. Kevan gave him a knowing look. "We know things have not been going very well for you, especially after you did not keep your promise to the Freys."
"That does not concern you or anyone in your family." He had been ashamed of not keeping his promise, but he was in love and wanted to spend the rest of his life with the woman he chose. He tried not to think about what his father would have said about Robb not keeping his word. "We are not here to speak about the decisions I made."
"Actually, we are. We need to speak about that particular decision." Robb frowned, but Kevan did not give him time to ask anything. "Tywin is willing to give up the North so you can continue as king and since you agreed to all the other conditions, there is only one condition left and it is none negotiable."
"What condition?" Robb was sure he was not going to be happy about it.
"You will marry Myrcella once she comes of age in 6 years."
"What?" Robb's eyes widened and he was sure he looked like an idiot. He had not expected that condition. "You know very well I cannot do that, I am already married."
"Actually, you are not." Robb frowned, not sure what the man meant, but Kevan looked completely sure of what he was saying. "Talisa Maegyr is not your wife, at least not legally. She is already wed, she had already been wed for two years before you even met her."
"That is not possible." The denial was quick.
"It is possible." Kevan took a sip of his wine. "Talisa and her husband arrived from Volantis three years ago. Her husband is an artisan and he was completing some work for Tywin. Since you never made any attempt to exchange Jaime for your sisters and refused any attempt we made to speak to you, my brother knew he would need someone to distract you a bit."
"No." He shook his head, hating everything that was coming out of the man's mouth. "Why would her husband ever allow her to be away from him and fuck other men?"
"Because Tywin offered her and her husband an obscenely amount of gold." Kevan had the decency to look apologetic. "You cannot think of Talisa and her husband the same way you think about the people of Westeros. People from the free cities are much more free in their way of thinking and their feelings than we are. Her husband did not care about her fucking you for a couple of years for the amount of gold Tywin gave them."
"No, Talisa would not lie about something like that." Even while he was saying it, something that felt a lot like desperation filled his chest. He could not believe he had been so stupid and foolish. Talisa loved him, she could not fake that. "She just told me yesterday that she is with child."
"That is another lie." Kevan did not even blink while destroying every single dream Robb had for the past year. "She has been taking moon tea for years."
Robb wanted to kill Kevan Lannister or at least jump over the table and beat his face in. He wanted to scream and yell for the man to shut up. Every word out of his mouth was like a blade to his heart and Robb was not sure if he wanted to hear any more. He had betrayed everything he had stood for, everything his father had taught him for a woman who had been lying to him since they met. His father would have been heartbroken if he had known that Robb had gone back on his word. He could not believe he had spit on his convictions for a woman who had been spying on him. He looked at Kevan once more, his eyes hard.
"I hope you have proof of this." Even while he was sure Kevan was telling the truth, he was kind of hoping that the man was lying. "I am sure you understand why I cannot just take your word for it."
"Of course." Kevan handed him several documents.
Robb looked at the papers and it took him a few moments to realize that he was looking at letters. He immediately recognized Talisa's handwriting and just read what the woman he married had written. She had written about some of the people who were in favor of Robb becoming king and even some of his battle strategies. There were a few letters to her husband and on the last one she mentioned how much she was looking forward to seeing him and being able to be in his arms again. Robb had to take deep breaths before he ran out of the tent and ran her through with his own sword. He was completely devastated and had never felt more betrayed. He had trusted her with things he had never told anyone else and had married against everyone's advice, even his own mother.
This kind of betrayal could not be forgiven and he knew what he needed to do. He wanted to kill Tywin Lannister for making him into this man he hated, but he knew it was not all Tywin's fault. While it was true that Tywin had sent Talisa to him, everything that had happened after that was Robb's fault and he could not blame anyone else but himself. Even after all the mistakes he had made Talisa had betrayed him and had spied on him, that was treason and there was only one punishment for her.
"Tell your brother I accept all his conditions, including the one about marrying Princess Myrcella." Robb stood up and took all the letters with him. "As proof of our new friendship, I will let the kingslayer leave with you."
Robb saw the happiness on Kevan's face but did not give him time to say anything as he left the tent. There were some things he needed to take care of before he would be able to return to Winterfell.

5 days later.
Serena smiled as she watched Sansa and Myrcella sitting together, both girls were laughing over some book they had been reading. Myrcella was four years younger than Sansa, but both girls got along incredibly well. Myrcella and Sansa had similar dispositions, they were both sweet and sensitive girls. Both girls also loved to read and enjoyed reading to each other. Myrcella would usually come to the Tower of the Hand, she knew the reason why Sansa did not like leaving the tower. Even while Myrcella was only ten, she was very aware that even with guards Sansa did not feel safe outside the tower of the hand.
Serena was glad to see Sansa being a child again, her sister only had a couple of years before she came of age and then the hunt for a husband would begin. Serena was hoping that she would be able to push it back a few more years, at least until Sansa was eighteen. She did not want her sister marrying so young, especially after everything she had been through.
Another giggle escaped Myrcella and Sansa appeared to be trying to hold back her laughter, but she did not have much success. It only took a couple of seconds before Sansa was laughing also. Serena smiled as she stood up and approached both girls, waiting until they noticed her.
"It is time for the midday meal." Serena ran a hand over Myrcella's hair and gave the girl a small smile. "Would you like to eat with us, princess?"
"Yes," Myrcella looked a lot like Cersei, but somehow was even more beautiful. While on the outside she was almost identical to her mother, her character was nothing like the woman's. Myrcella was so sweet and gentle, she loved people and making others feel better. "That would be lovely."
The table had been set up on one of the largest balconies on the tower of the hand. Serena did not enjoy spending all her time cooped up inside and since her husband was still working, she needed to spend some time with other people. Tywin and her had spent every single night together in the past five days. Her husband did not seem to be capable of keeping his hands off of her. Since the night they had missed supper with the rest of the family whatever had been holding him back had seemed to disappear. They now had supper with Tyrion, Sansa, Genna would join them sometimes, and Myrcella and Tommen, and after they would retire to their chamber where her husband would make love to her. For the first time in years, she was happy and she was afraid to question things or think about them for too long.
The three of them sat at the table while the maids served them and Sansa and Myrcella continued talking. They had barely started eating when Tyrion walked in.
"Mother!" She rolled her eyes at the man but smiled all the same. Tyrion had a way of making her laugh no matter how hard things were. Tyrion turned towards Sansa and Myrcella. "Lady Sansa, beautiful as always. And Myrcella, you look more beautiful every time I see you. You will be even more beautiful than your mother, but not as bitter."
"Tyrion." Serena's voice held a warning as she shook her head at Tyrion. "Do not say that to her."
"She knows I am only jesting." Tyrion sat on an empty chair and served himself some food, while one of the maids poured him some wine. "Thank the gods you have food, I am starving."
"You are always starving," Myrcella said with a laugh. "Grandsire says he is lucky to be the richest man in Westeros or you would eat him out of a home."
"I am just enjoying as many of the pleasures life offers, little niece." Tyrion took a large bite of one of the chicken legs. "Food is one of them."
While Serena loved Tyrion and was very impressed by how smart he was, she hated how tasteless he could be. She had not liked the comment he had made to Myrcella about Cersei. While he had not been lying, he should not have said those things in front of Myrcella. The poor girl already had enough of dealing with her mother and her sadistic brother without having people point out how bitter Cersei was. Serena was sure the reason Myrcella enjoyed spending so much time with her and Sansa was because Cersei barely paid any attention to her. The woman was too busy running after Joffrey and fucking her cousin to even pay attention to what Tommen and Myrcella were doing.
"I know you are not here just for the food." Serena took Tyrion's cup before he could take another swing. "You never come here this early in the day, so how about you tell me what is happening."
"My uncle Kevan is back from wherever my father sent him." Serena tensed and looked at her stepson. While Tyrion did not know where Kevan had gone or what he had been doing, she knew he was not stupid. Tyrion knew something important was happening and he was not happy not knowing what it was. "He brought some important news from your brother and he also brought back Jaime."
"What?" Myrcella's voice was excited as a smile overtook her face. "Uncle Jaime is back?"
"Yes, he and my father are in the small council chambers with Joffrey and Cersei." Tyrion took his cup from Serena's hand before taking a large sip. "I was not even allowed to say hello to my brother, but he did not look too well."
"What do you mean?" She was hoping her brother had not been stupid enough to hurt Jaime. She was not sure Tywin would forgive Robb if he had done something to Jaime.
"He looks like he has not been fed in moons." Serena did not like Tyrion's look. She could tell he was worried about his brother. "There was a look in his eyes that I do not like."
"What do you mean?" The question came from Myrcella who was looking at her uncle with concern. "Did something bad happen to Uncle Jaime?
"No, sweetheart." Serena gave the girl a reassuring smile. "I am sure he is just tired and will need to eat some good food. He will be back to guarding all of you in no time." Serena gave Tyrion a warning look. "Right Tyrion?"
"Yes," The man cleared his throat and gave Serena a scared look before looking back at Myrcella. "Jaime just needs some rest and some food. I am sure once he has taken a bath he will be more than happy to see you and Tommen."
Serena was thankful that the small girl appeared to believe her and just nodded her head before going back to her food. She was impatient to know what had happened with her brother but imagined that it was good news since her brother had released Jaime. Maybe they would be able to have peace after all and things would be better now. The only thing left to do was to get rid of Joffrey, he could not continue being king.
