Kiyoomi and I both sat by Ayaka. I was holding her and feeding her formula with a bottle. Kiyoomi played with her tiny feet, which had little duck socks on them.
He looked back when the doorbell ring, standing up to answer it.
"Perfect timing she's actually awake." I commented, continuing to feed her. As much as I wanted to sprint over to the door and hug 'Samu and Ma, I had a baby to feed. Plus I'll never get over the feeling of holding her.
Kiyoomi was yanked into a hug from Ma, holding him tightly. She dropped a large bag in the process, that by the looks of it had clothes for the baby. He tensed for a second before slowly hugging back. I noticed him smiling. He shook hands with 'Samu, since 'Samu was little more aware of his phobia.
'Samu trotted over to me, so quiet and yet so fast. He stared at Ayaka in shock, immediately crying with pursed lips. Ma came and stepped beside him, covering her mouth and also starting to cry.
"She's so tiny." 'Samu cried.
Ayaka stopped feeding, attempting to turn her head to look at the two. She still of course had little to no movement in her head.
"She's so precious.." Ma said. "Can I hold her?"
I glanced over at 'Samu, I wanted him to be the first to hold my child.
"Yeah, ya both can." I said, walking over to 'Samu. I gave her a second to digest before moving her around. "Make sure to hold her head up.
I slowly passed the baby over to 'Samu, who was crying even more. He was super careful with her, as much as I was. He smiled, rubbing his thumb over her shirt. It was a yellow shirt with a duck face on it, and matched her socks.
"She's so little." 'Samu repeated, watching her adjust his eyes to him. He tickled her stomach, making her squirm a little. Ma watched Ayaka eagerly, so 'Samu gently passed her over.
Ma was crying as much as 'Samu, running a knuckle over her soft cheek.
"She's such a beautiful baby." Ma commented, and she really was.
"I can't believe ya have a child.." 'Samu cried.
"Me neither." I commented, leaning against Kiyoomi. "She's pretty cute huh?"
Kiyoomi hummed in agreement, and I could feel the vibration coming from his chest.
"She's adorable." Ma said, rocking her slightly. She started to fuss after a second so I took her back. I passed her over to Kiyoomi so I could hug the both of them.
"Thanks f'r comin' guys, I missed ya."
"I would've come the second she was born if I could." 'Samu commented, and Ma nodded dutifully.
"Yeah, they didn't even let us in the room so ya didn't miss much. First seeing her was so magical however."
"It really was." Kiyoomi commented, smiling down at her. She calmed for a second before fussing. "She wants a nap."
I nodded, and he took care of putting her to sleep. Which took awhile.
I sat on the couch with the other two. I laid my head on 'Samu's leg and hung my legs over to arm rest. Tuna jumped on my stomach, making me jolt. I tried to hug her but 'Samu stole her from me before I could. Ma leaned over to greet her.
"She got fatter." 'Samu commented.
I hummed obliviously, "I wonder how."
"Because you feed her when I'm not looking." Kiyoomi glared, joining us and keeping a baby monitor latched to his side. He handed me one as well, we were both very anal when it came to taking care of her.
"What? I would never?" I said, as if that were preposterous.
"Ya fed Dinky growin' up too!"
"Ugh I hated that." Ma commented.
Kiyoomi snorted, I've told him about Dinky. She was our childhood cat. She lived seventeen years and Ma had refused to get a cat since. Kiyoomi found the name hilarious.
"Yeah I hate it too." Kiyoomi glared at me, "It's bad for her."
Ma nodded wholeheartedly.
"She just wants a taste." I said, "She's livin' her best life."
"She's spoiled." Kiyoomi corrected.
"Very true." I nodded, "She thinks the baby's stuff is hers. We haven't really let her spend alone time with her yet."
"Yeah she's still so little." 'Samu commented, "She really is tiny."
I laughed, "Have ya never seen a baby 'Samu?"
He scratched the back of his neck, "I don't know, I don't remember."
I rolled my eyes, "Dork."
He glared me down.
Kiyoomi stood up, "I'm gonna start working on dinner, I'll leave you to it."
I smiled at him, "Thanks Omi-Omi."
"Yeah thanks!" 'Samu chipped in.
Ma nodded in response but he left before she could say thank you. I'm sure he knew.
I was excited for dinner. As cute as Ayaka is she is very exhausting. We explained the circumstances to the coach and Meian. Coach Foster didn't even know we were together, and I could tell he wasn't fond of the idea. He did admit however we were very compatible on the court so in that way it made sense.
In the end he agreed to giving us a month or two off. We just had a game not that long ago and wouldn't have one for awhile. He trusted us to make up for it when we came back. After all, we were crucial players.
I knew It would mess up the team's rhythm but it would also give the others a chance to exchange positions. I knew that was always a good skill to practice.
Ayaka's been crying throughout the night, which I expected. Kiyoomi's a fairly light sleeper so he's the first to wake up. I sometimes jolt up out of paranoia. She's usually just hungry.
She's been pretty easy to put to sleep but she has her moments, especially when she wakes up in the night. We've been pretty good at taking turns taking care of her.
"I really like him." Ma said, making me melt.
"Really?"
"Yeah, I think he's good for you."
I smiled, nearly crying again.
"He's family." Ma said, making me actually cry.
"Yeah, he is."

The dinner of course was fantastic and conversation flowed smoothly. We stayed talking for awhile until we heard a cry on the baby monitor.
"Well, we should probably get going soon anyway, before it gets too late." Ma said, "Thank you for dinner."
Kiyoomi smiled, "Of course, I'm happy you two made it over here."
We made our way to the door, trying to make our goodbyes quick considering Ayaka was throwing a fit.
"I'll be happy to call you my son Sakusa." My mom said, making Kiyoomi's usual composure drop. I had a feeling he saw his mother in her.
"You can call me Kiyoomi." He smiled, "It'll get confusing in the future anyways."
Both 'Samu and my Ma's eyes snapped to me.
"Y'er changin' y'er name?!" 'Samu cried, furious.
"Well, yeah, we're getting married 'Samu.." I mumbled, pale.
"That doesn't mean ya have to change y'er name." He said it as if I didn't know.
"Well.. I want to.."
Kiyoomi stood there awkwardly, evidently regretting what he said.
"Well you knew it could've happened one day." Ma said, "I'm happy f'r ya Atsumu. We'll leave ya to little Ayaka, it was nice to see you two.
I nodded absentmindedly, looking over to 'Samu, he was fuming. "Yeah, bye Ma.."
'Samu glared me down, "We're twins, ya can't change y'er name."
"We still share the same blood."
"That's not good enough Atsumu!" He was angry, angry enough to use my name, "We're the 'Miya Twins'."
"Yeah well ya fucked up that title awhile ago didn't ya?" I spat out, getting irritated myself.
Ayaka was crying in the background, making the situation even more stressful.
"I'm gonna go get her.." Kiyoomi said, eyeing the two of us before heading upstairs.
"That's not the same." He said, crossing his arms.
"'Samu can't ya just be happy for me?" I said, crossing my own arms.
He shot daggers at me, then promptly slammed the door behind him. The wind of the door closing made the dread wash over me. He hasn't been that angry with me for awhile now.
Kiyoomi walked down the stairs anxiously, holding Ayaka.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know he'd be so upset.. I thought he might have known.."
"It's okay Omi." I sighed, "I had to break it to him eventually. I'm glad my Ma took it well.
"I really love your mom." Kiyoomi said it in such a genuine way. I gently raised up to kiss his forehead, and then Ayaka's. "Put your worry aside for now, you can't do anything right now and he should at least have the night to think everything over.
I nodded slowly, letting out one last sigh. "Okay, y'er right."
"I'm gonna feed her, why don't you take a bath okay babe?"
He's never called me babe before.
I leant against him, tiredly watching Ayaka.
"Okay, I love ya Omi-Omi."
"I love you too, always."

"My heart's racing." Kiyoomi said, I held his hand.
"I'm so excited! I miss them so much!"
He smiled, calming down, "I'm glad, they miss you too."
"Yeah?"
"Mhm.." He smiled, sliding a hand around my waist. I laid to rest against his chest. He pulled my chin up to kiss him, I happily hummed into his mouth. Our romantic moment was shortly cut off by a cry. Kiyoomi made a noise, and I stepped back.
"Ya mentally prepare yerself Omi-Omi I'll take care of Ayaka."
He hummed, brushing the hair from my eye and kissing my cheek. I noticed him fixing up the house a little more on my way upstairs.
Ayaka seemed bored, so I brought her over to a little mat that had colorful toys hung above it. She seemed to calm down a little. We fed her before her nap so I'm sure she was fine on food for awhile.
"Do ya like all the pretty colors?" I asked her, tickling her stomach with one finger. I seemed to invoke the use of her diaper so I took care of that too. Kiyoomi has yet to change a diaper but I kind of saw that coming. It's not so bad.
I got her all dressed for our visitors and by the time we were ready there was a ring at the door. I carefully brought Ayaka down the stairs, terrified to slip and drop her.
I smiled when I saw the four people in the main room.
"Hi!" I called, careful not to startle Ayaka.
"'Tsumu!" Ayako called, running up to give me a side hug. She looked down at the baby in awe. Nina and Motoya trotted over, looking at her too.
"Wow she's actually real.." Motoya commented, amazed, "Will you tell us her name now?"
I looked up and over to Kiyoomi, who nodded. I then looked specifically at Ayako.
"We named her after someone who's really helped Kiyoomi a lot." I said, "Her name is Ayaka."
Ayako's eye's widened, before her face contorted into near tears. She glanced teary eyed between the two of us to double check we were talking about her. She then walked to Kiyoomi, hugging him and burying into his chest.
"I'm so happy for you Kiyo." She smiled, then turned to me, "And you, I'm so happy you're apart of the family, along with little Ayaka."
I smiled, pulling her into a hug.
We all traded off taking hugs and greeting the baby. Ayako was the first to hold the baby, when it was Nina's turn she seemed anxious to hold her.
"What if I break her?" She asked, eyes fearful as she was handed the baby.
"Try not to." I commented.
That definitely didn't make her feel better. Despite her nerves she held little Ayaka just fine, and was smiling her way through it.
"She's so pretty, usually I think babies are ugly.." Nina commented, earning a glare from Motoya.
"I know right? She came out that way, nicely baked." I said proudly.
"You really named her after me..?" Ayako asked, pushing out her bottom lip.
Kiyoomi nodded, "Yeah, it was actually Atsumu's idea.."
"Really?" Her eyes snapped to me.
"Yeah, it just makes sense. Plus y'er just, great." I said it genuinely.
She pulled me into a proper hug now that I wasn't holding Ayaka.
"She also coincidentally was a breech baby."
Motoya's eyebrows raised, "Really? That's crazy.."
"What's that mean..?" Nina asked awkwardly.
"Feet first." I explained.
She slowly nodded, "Isn't that dangerous?"
"It can be." Kiyoomi said.
We spent awhile talking until Ayaka started to fuss. Kiyoomi took care of feeding her, despite his anxiety about it. He really isn't fond of her spitting up or burping, so I deal with most of the nasty stuff. He's good about waking up in the night however, he's also helpful with cleaning up and cooking. Since moving in together we've done a surprisingly good job at each doing our part in the house.
We also haven't had a single genuine fight since.. it happened. He's been good at communicating and when he doesn't he will after a push or two. He's also great with my own boundaries so there's little to no room to argue. We of course have our differences, like with me feeding Tuna for example.
"So you said ya'll booked a hotel?" I asked, sitting on the island chairs with them.
"Yeah, Ayako found a two bed hotel for the three of us." Nina said, crouched down on the floor petting Tuna. "I really like your guys's place."
"Thanks, you should visit more often." I told her. I was surprised she's never been here before; It wasn't Motoya or Ayako's first time here of course. It was the first time since we've changed the guest room however. The bed is still in there but it's not exactly set for company. Ayaka also cries a lot during the night, so I'm sure they would prefer a proper hotel anyways.
She nodded, continuing to pet Tuna who was still on her lap.
"What have ya been doing, Nani?" I asked, never having officially used her given name. Not that I remember anyway. She wasn't taken very off guard, and instead stayed smiling.
"I'm not so big on the college scene so I'm looking into art schools.. since we went diving that one time it's inspired me to paint a lot.."
"Oh! Awesome! 'N ya got new piercings." I commented, referring to her lips.
She nodded, "Yeah, a couple months ago."
"I like them, I'd get some if I weren't an athlete." I commented, "A tongue piercing would be cool."
Kiyoomi eyed me, and not in a judgmental way.
Nina stuck her tongue out, revealing a black ball.
"That's definitely new!" I commented, she shook her head.
"Nope, had it since I was sixteen, I just had a clear one in when I met you, I assume."
"Oh cool, my Ma would kill me if I got piercings that young, I remember begging at fifteen but I gave it up after a bit.
"Yeah, our Mom's pretty free on self expression, she has a few piercings herself, not anything crazy though." Nina said.
"Uh, yeah she does." Motoya commented, scrunching his nose. I'm not sure I wanted to know what that meant.
"Either way they look good." I smiled, looking back at Nina, "Did the tongue hurt?"
"Nah, actually it was probably one of the easiest ones." She said, surprising me, "Hurt less than my nose."
I hummed, spinning on my chair. I looked back to Kiyoomi who was still feeding Ayaka. He was admiring her, and I was too.
"How old is she exactly?" Komori asked.
"She was born on March twenty-ninth." I said, "She's almost three weeks."
"So little." He replied, making puppy eyes at her.
Kiyoomi took back the empty bottle, she started to cry.
"You already finished it." He said, rolling his eyes and putting the cup away. I rolled my own eyes but at him instead.
"She really chugged that down." I commented, "She's probably gonna throw up.."
He looked at me, panicked, then gently walked over and passed her to me. I scrunched my nose at him, burping her. He couldn't even watch it happen.
"Kiyo that's your child!" Ayako scolded.
"Yeah doesn't mean it's not gross." He replied, paying little to no attention to his sister.
I couldn't see Nina anymore, I assumed she was still sat on the floor. Tuna could use the attention anyway, she's very jealous of the new baby.
I finished burping Ayako, letting Kiyoomi relax. Not long after he started to work on dinner; while the rest of us sat on the couch. We played cards, and it brought back a lot of fond memories. I brought the baby mat over in line sight. Nina stepped out of the game so she could sit by Ayaka. I didn't mind the free babysitting.
I was happy to be able to catch up with them, and I'm glad they could catch up with us too.
I truly felt apart of the family.
