"Have they found a donor yet?" Maryam asked Salim again
"Not yet, a heart donor isn't at all easy to find" he responded as she released a sigh
"Just keep praying, In Sha Allah, Allah would send us one" Rukkaya said as Maryam muttered Ameen.
"When next are you going to the hospital?" She asked Salim
"Tomorrow" he responded
"Who's staying with him?" She asked again
"The nurses, his family all decided to go home" Salim responded as she nodded.
If there's a moment she needs to be a good wife it'll be now, she has to be there for her husband and still make time for her babies.
"May Allah grant him recovery" Rukkaya said as they all muttered Ameen
"I'm going to bed now see you all tomorrow" Salim said
"Goodnight" Maryam and Rukkaya said in unison as he nodded before leaving the room.
"What are you going to do now?" Rukkaya asked Maryam as she layed on the bed while Maryam was sitting besides her babies cribs
"I don't know, I'm thinking I should stay with him in the hospital to at least look after him" Maryam responded
"What about the babies?" Rukkaya asked
"I can't take them along with me, so I'm thinking we start giving them a formula" Maryam said
"Formula Kuma?, Isn't it too early for that?" Rukkaya asked
"That's the best I can think of now besides it's not harmful and it doesn't affect, many babies take it" Maryam said
"The doctor advised breastfeeding, your babies aren't like other babies, they're weaker" Rukkaya said
"I know all that but I'm in a though spot right now, I have to make sacrifices" Maryam said as Rukkaya nodded
"You still have to breastfeed them" Rukkaya said
"Anytime I'm home I'll do so" Maryam said as Rukkaya nodded
"May Allah make it easy" Rukkaya said
"Ameen" Maryam responded
Rukkaya slept off and Maryam stayed awake for some time before sleeping off shortly.
The next day came and the house is quite, Maryam got herself ready to go to the hospital along with her dad and Salim.
The drive was a quite one as no one bothered starting up a conversation, few minutes later they pull up in front of the building and proceeded the walk in.
Arriving in front of the ward the family do their Salams and go in meeting Aliyu's dad and mum.
They exchanged greetings and of course Hajiya Nafisa wasn't happy about Maryam showing up.
After a few minutes of talking Maryam informs the family she would like to stay and take care of Aliyu till they find a donor which they all agreed to except Hajiya Nafisa but unfortunately her opinion wasn't needed so Maryam was going to stay with Aliyu.
After a few minutes the family leaves leaving just Maryam alone.
Staring at his helpless condition and his slow breaths, Maryam kept feeling guilty cause all this was because of her.
Maryam's POV💕
A part of me just felt so responsible for Aliyu's condition, did I take things too far.
Now that I look at his face he looks very innocent, how could I have been angry with this man.
I reached out to touch his face, his body temperature was so hot. I wonder the kind of pain he's going through right now.
I traced my hand down to reach his, holding it I already miss his touch. His soft warm palms. There's no turning back time so I hope Allah grant us his mercy.
Time passed and I kept monitoring his health nothing changed, night came and I had to go home leaving him under the care of the nurses.
I wonder how long this is going to continue, I wonder how long his going to be unconscious, I wonder if a donor is ever going to be found. I'll just keep being present cause now my husband needs me.

4 weeks later💕
4 weeks have gone by, to some people they'll think time flies but to Maryam time was slow but Alhamdullilah her Duas have been answered.
It got to a point her husband was on the verge of death, his heart had threatened to stop pumping blood and just when the doctors was about to give up Allah sent a donor.
The donor was a kidney patient, all hope have been lost in ever finding a matching kidney for him despite all the money the family payed and all the hospitals visited.
The man was going to die, not now but eventually, his family had lost all hopes even the man did, so when news got to them that a person was in dieing need of a heart he volunteered to be the donor.
His family was of course against it but they all know he was going to die soon and so they finally accepted. He bid his last goodbye to his parents and his wife and just then he was taken into the theatre and after what felt like forever the operation was over and he was pronounce dead and Aliyu finally got another chance in life.
It's been a week now since the transplant and Aliyu only woke up yesterday, he hasn't said anything yet which made everyone curious but the doctor said it's normal and that he just needed time to adjust and understand things.
Maryam was of course the most worried, she's aware the heart donor had a wife and the family testified that the man loved his wife a lot which made her feel so insecure of Aliyu's love.
What if Aliyu starts loving the now widow, that can't happen, her mother in-law must have something up her sleeves already so she can't be here worrying about another man's wife.
Everyone was currently sitting outside the ward as they took turns to see Aliyu, Maryam decided she was going in last so she could spend more time with her husband.
Her turn finally came and she took a deep breath before proceeding into the ward, entering into the door her eyes meet her husband's who just kept staring at her.
He have her a smile which came to her by surprise before she smiled back at him, she walked further into the room and unexpectedly her husband opens his arms for her and with tears in her eyes she rushed over to hug him, crying in his embrace while he caressed her back.
"Did you miss me?" Aliyu said as her tears increased
"Don't cry princess, I'm here now" he said as he tightened the hug while she hugged him back trying to calm herself so she could speak to him properly and examine him.
"Are you fine now?" Aliyu asked as he watched Maryam break the hug wiping her eyes as she nodded making him smile at her.
"Have you forgiven me now?" Aliyu asked as she tried her best not to cry again before she nodded
"Yes, yes I have" she said as he gave her a wide smile pulling her close to him and in no time he planted a kiss on her lips which she accepted and the couple stayed there in that position for what felt like 3 mins.
After that they broke the kiss looking into each other eyes for a while before Maryam finally spoke up.
"Aliyu you had a heart transplant" she said as he nodded
"I know, dad told me" he said as she nodded
"Aliyu this isn't the heart that use to have that undieing love for me" she said again
"That's not true, my love for you wasn't in my heart but my soul and no matter how many hearts I get to use in this life my soul will forever recognize and love you just as much as I ever did and forever will" he said as she looked at him with sparks in her eyes unable to say anything as her tears started falling again making him pull her into another hug.
"Don't cry princess, I don't like it when you cry" he said as she couldn't help but kept on crying while her husband patted her to be calm.
After a while Maryam was finally sober and stopped crying deciding to speak up again.
"Aliyu, the heart donor had a wife..." She said as he nodded while she tried her best not to cry again
"Are you going to love her now?" She said as she started crying again making him pull her into another hug
"Absolutely not, I'll never be able to love a woman that's not you regardless of whatever heart I'm given" he responded as she hugged him tighter.
"Aliyu, I can't loose you especially to another woman" she said
"You'll never loose me to another woman, never, my soul wants just you and no woman can ever come between us" he responded as she broke the hug to look at him with a smile on her face making him smile at her
"Aliyu, your family wants you to marry another wife cause of what I did to you" she said to him as he shook his head with a smile
"Is that why you're crying?" He asked her as she nodded, another tear falling out of her face as he wiped it off this time.
"That'll never happen, I'll never get married again, you're the last woman I'm ever going to take to the masjid in sake of marriage, no one else" he said smiling at her as she smiled at him
"But they don't think so, even your dad he said you're definitely going to getting married again" Maryam said
"No one can make me marry anyone, and I'm never going to marry anyone else, you're the only woman I want in my life and the only one I want to take to jannah with me, I don't want multiple women and my father and family, I'm going to handle them once I'm out of here, I just need you to take care of me, you will right?" Aliyu said as she smiled nodding at him
"Promise?" He said giving her his pinky finger
"Promise" she said taking it as they smiled at each other
"And you, promise me you won't get married to another woman" she said giving him her second pinky finger
"I promise" he responded taking it as they smiled again at each before sharing a kiss.
