Again, the same group of friends were chilling at the pub. Haechan laughs out loud, joking around with his friends, until his eyes spot a different person leaving the school. He frowns, following the girl with his eyes, wondering if he had ever seen her around there.
-Hey. Iris! – He calls his friend, the other popular from his group, knowing she is the best person to ask that kind of question. – Who is that girl? – He asks and she chuckles.
-Her name is Y/n. She is new here. She came transferred from another city. I talked to her a bit. She is cool, but too nerdy. – She jokes and Haechan laughs. – She is one of those who pays attention, who writes during the classes and get high grades.
-Ooh. Is that it? – Haechan says, looking at you from afar. – Thanks, Iris. – He says and she winks at him, coming back to her previous conversation.
Walking calmly while checking your social media, you suddenly feel someone beside you.
-Hi! – A boy says, and you frown, finding that a little weird that he is talking to you out of the blue.
-Hi. – You answer.
-I'm Haechan. Nice to meet you. – He says and reaches out his hand for you. You slowly shake it, a little taken aback. – You are Y/n, right? The new student.
-Yes, I am. So, you are the famous Haechan. – You chuckle and Haechan gets surprised.
-Oh, you know me? – He says and you nod.
-Some people told me I should stay away from a boy called Haechan, because he is a troublemaker. – You say and he scoffs, making you laugh.
-It was Iris, right? She always says that kind of thing about my person, but I can tell you I'm the best person for you to be close with. – He says cockily, and you arch an eyebrow.
-Oh, is that it? – You say with a shy smile looking down.
Haechan was not expecting this meeting to be like that, but your shyness and, at the same time, boldness, made him interested about you. He loves to meet new people and to be popular, but this time something woke up his curiosity. You had something different in you, in your smile.
-Of course. We are from the same class, so we gotta be friends, right? – He says and you get confused.
-But I didn't see you in class today. – You say and he giggles.
-Well, today I slept too much, so I couldn't go, but I can show you the neighborhood, if you want. I know each part of this city. What do you think? – He asks and you hesitate.
-Uhm... right now? – You ask and he nods with a smile. – I can't right now... My parents are waiting for me. They will be worried if I come back late. – You say and Haechan arches an eyebrow.
-Come ooon! It's gonna be fun! – He says and you smile. By his fame on school, you know the type of boy he is. It's that type that a girl like you wouldn't be around, but you can't deny that he is handsome. His leather jacket already tells you he is gonna be trouble, so why are you willing to accept his offer?
-Uhm... I don't know, Haechan. – You say and he rolls his eyes.
-Alright, alright. I knew it even before talking to you. You're too daddy's princess to go around like that. – He says looking away, and you frown.
-What do you mean? – You ask.
-You are that type of girl who gets high grades, who never does nothing wrong and who doesn't get late at home. Translating, a boring life. – He says, putting his hands inside his pockets.
-My life is not boring. I do the things I like. – You say and Haechan chuckles.
-Then, come with me. We're just gonna walk around for a bit. – He says and you sigh.
-Okay, okay. – You say and Haechan smiles.
-Perfect. Before starting our tour, let's grab something from the store. I'm thirsty. – He says, and you follow him, deviating from your previous path.
You and Haechan get to the store, and he quickly goes to the refrigerators while you look around, seeing the many snacks in that big place.
-Want one? - He asks, showing off a beer, and you shake your head.
-No, thanks. I don't drink. - You say and he chuckles.
-Of course you don't. - He says, walking towards you. - What do you want then? Tell me and I'll give it to you. - You are taken by surprise, not knowing what to choose. Your eyes glance at a potato chips bag and Haechan takes it. - This one? Alright. Let's go. - He says, walking to the exit door.
-Wait. Aren't you gonna pay for that? - You ask and he smirks, continuing to walk. - H-Haechan. This is not right. We can't steal... - You pull him by the arm, and he looks at you, seeing your worried and guilty face.
-We are not stealing, silly. My uncle owns this store. I can get whatever I want. - He says, finding that funny, and you breath out, now calmer.
-HYUCK! - You get startled by a deep voice yelling from inside the story. - ARE YOU TAKING MY STUFF AGAIN, YOU BRAT? COME HERE! - Before you could even think, Haechan grabs your hand, dragging you out of there.
-Love you, uncle! I'll be back later! - Haechan shouts, running away from there.
A little ahead, you and Haechan stop to rest, panting heavily.
-Hey! You said we weren't stealing. - You say pouting.
-We weren't. It's because lately I've been taking too much from the store. Hehehe. But I'll pay him back. He knows that. He wouldn't do anything to us. He loves me too much for that. - Haechan jokes, winking at you. - Here. For you. - He hands you the chips, and you take it chucking. - Okay. So, coming back to where we were before. Then, you don't drink, you don't go past curfew, you don't skip classes. Uhm... - He says, taking his hands to his chin. - Do you curse?
-Nope. - You say, chewing the chips and quickly taking another one from the packet, while Haechan scoffs.
-No way. You're just playing around. Or you are a saint. - He says and you roll your eyes.
-I'm not a saint. I just want to be a good person. - You say, and he snorts. - And you, troublemaker? Why do you enjoy so much to break the rules? - You ask, looking at his eyes while walking. Haechan looks up at the sky, thinking.
-It's not about breaking the rules. It's about freedom and doing whatever I want to do. - He says with a proud voice, and you smile, throwing away the chips bag.
-But what about school? It's not like it's totally boring all the time. You have your friends there, right? - You say and he shrugs. - Since I'm new there, I don't have many friends yet. It would be cool if you go too. - You say and Haechan looks at you. He stays silent, running his eyes by your face, thinking, for the first time, about really going to school to watch the classes.
-U-Uhm. - He clears his throat. - I'll think about your case, but I don't promise anything. - He looks away and you giggle. - I still have to keep my cool side, you know. The girls like that. - He comes back to his normal cocky way, and you arch an eyebrow.
-Oh, yeah. Sure. - You say ironically. - The popular Haechan surrounded by girls. I can bet you don't have a girlfriend though. - You say with a proud face too and he looks at you with a sassy face.
-Oooh, and you, daddy's princess? Do you have a boyfriend? Or is it also against the rules? Actually, have you ever dated someone? - He asks and you clean your throat, looking away.
-A-Anyways, that's not important right now. - You say and he laughs.
As the time passed by, you and Haechan started hanging out more and more. For everyone's surprise, he started to show up at school to watch the classes, or better saying, to annoy you in the meantime. Even if your personalities and ways of thinking were different, you had built a friendship which was slowly becoming close.
At a random day, Haechan calls you to meet after class, as usual, but saying that this time he had a surprise. Feeling curious, you ran to there after the classes, finding him waiting for you. Even after begging him to say what the surprise was, he handled it until the end, taking you to a wasteland blocked by a short wooden fence. He jumped over it and reached out his hand for you to jump too. You look at him worried, not sure if you should be following him on his risky adventures.
-Haechan... I don't know if we should cross the fence. Somebody can scold us. - You say with your hands in front of your chest.
-Don't worry. Nobody comes here anyway. I just want to show you something up there. - He says and you hesitate, looking at him. - It won't be dangerous, I promise. I know you don't like doing wrong things. - He says again, and you take a deep breath, taking his hand and jumping over the fence.
You walk for some minutes and get to the hilltop. You widen your eyes, seeing a beautiful landscape of the sunset above the city. Haechan smirks, sitting on the blanket he had put there for you to watch the sunset while eating some candies. You sit down too with a big smile, poking him to pass you the candy.
The hours go buy fast with a lot of talking and laughs. The candies were almost all gone while you observe the city lights shining like starts down there.
-What are your plans for tomorrow? - He asks, not knowing what to say anymore after so many hours.
-Tomorrow? - You look up thinking. - Nothing much. I'll go to my grandpa's house, and then we will go to the church. - You say and Haechan chuckles.
-Church. Of course. – He says and you smile.
A comfortable silence feels the place, but Haechan's eyes couldn't stop staring at you.
Since the first day he noticed you were pretty, but now it's different. It's more than that. Your way of living, your pure heart, your kindness. Everything surprises him every day, making you glow like nobody ever did to him. And suddenly, a certain curiosity came to his mind.
-Can I ask you a question? – He says and you look at him, nodding. – Have you ever kissed someone? – Haechan asks and your cheeks immediately blush, and your heart accelerates.
-Uhm... I... Ehrm... - You hate to lie, and even if you did, you know you are terrible about it. – No. – You admit and slowly look back at him.
-I already knew. – He jokes and you pout.
-It's just that I consider it something special, okay? There's nothing wrong with that. – You say, pouty, and Haechan chuckles.
-I know. – He just says. You were expecting him to tease you about it, but somehow, he didn't. Your eyes meet, staring at each other carefully. – Can I be your first?
His question made your cheeks even redder than before. He had never seen you with such expression before. Actually, he didn't know he could provoke such reaction in a girl. Or should he say that it was not him, but herself? Her being herself. So pretty in his eyes.
He didn't know what to expect. That question came out of nowhere. Literally. But even so, what you did later surprised him even more. He sees your eyes slowly closing, and your head tilting forward, showing him your lips. Haechan's mouth opens a little in shock. You were giving him permission to kiss you.
You wait patiently for him as Haechan stares at you looking so cute, pouting your lips for him. He chuckles, making you open your eyes fast, seeing him laughing. You frown, looking down.
-Is this one of your jokes? You promised you wouldn't do that to me. – You say, totally embarrassed and mad.
-Sorry. It was not a joke. It's just that... I know how special this is for you, so... I don't know if I should. – If it was before, he wouldn't believe his own words. He never thought too much about the meaning and the value of things, but he wouldn't like to steal it from you.
-It is special. But I wanted it. – You mumble in a low tone, not looking at him, and he feels his stomach rolling. You look back at him, still not bearing to do it for too long.
Sitting closer to you, he leans over, giving you a slow kiss on the cheek. Your angelical gaze was fascinating to him. You couldn't help it. He was so handsome that just by looking at you, he could make you nervous inside, and now, your heart feels like exploding.
-You are making me change how I used to see some things. - He says, and you frown, confused. He sighs, looking away, strangely bothered. - But I don't know if I can change it all. - He says and you gulp. This conversation feels so deep that your breathing loses its rhythm.
-You don't need to change. You're good... as you are. - You say, not knowing where that courage came from. Haechan looks back at you. His eyes go from yours to your lips. Your heart kept punching the wall of your chest, flushing blood to your cheeks.
Leaning over once again, Haechan gets closer and brushes his nose on yours kindly. You hold your breath, closing your eyes, as his heat flows to your skin. His lips slightly touch yours in a peck, and it seemed like the world had changed colors. He wasn't recognizing himself. Since when was he so tender? Since when he started to worry about what someone would think of him? Or maybe you are the only one in this Earth who could do that.
You feel his lips slowly opening. You follow his actions, worried for not knowing what you were doing (and you didn't), but he was patient. You stop, feeling him surrounding your bottom lip with his, and you could swear: that was the best sensation you had ever felt. He pulls away, giving you a last peck. Looking at you again, he knew he was chained up. He got tamed for the first time.
