In this chapter, there is no romance, just a oneshot about reader being a good friend to Todoroki.

Your POV:
"Todoroki's birthday is coming up, you know." I said thoughtfully to my best friend, Midoriya.
"Yeah, I should probably get him a present..." he agreed.
"I've never seen him drink tea before..." I said slowly "It's probably because he doesn't have a teapot! Maybe I should get him one-"
"No!" interrupted Midoriya loudly "I, uh, think you should get him something else... anything else, actually..."
"Um...ok. What should I get him then?" I wondered.
"I don't know... I don't even know if he has hobbies. All I really know about him is that he hates his dad and likes cold soba."
"Cold soba? How am I supposed to work with that?" I sighed. "I'll probably end up giving him a mug or something."
"I've got it!" I exclaimed suddenly.
"What?" asked Midoriya.
"I'll get him a fireproof shirt!"
"That's actually a good idea." complemented Midoriya. Why did he sound surprised?? All my ideas are good! "I did notice that half of his shirt got completely burned away during our match at the sports festival."
"Yeah, the whole stadium could see his abs!" I chuckled.
"Y/N!"
"It's true though... It's ok, Midoriya, you don't have to be jealous~! I know that under that school uniform you have a six pa-"
"Y-Y/N!"
"I'm right though! You can't deny it! All the boys in class 1- a are insanely muscular. Like, unnaturally so."
Midoriya rolled his eyes, a slight blush on his freckled cheeks, and soon the conversation shifted to much more boring things.

"Hey, Zuki, wanna train together after school?" I said innocently.
Midoriya choked on air as he turned to face me, eyes wide and face red.
"I'm sorry, Zuki!? W-what??"
"Yeah, Zuki! Short for Izuku! I just thought you needed a nickname. But if you don't like it..." I looked away, pretending to be hurt, but honestly I was trying not to laugh.
"Um.. n-no, it's not t-that! Noone has ever called me that before, so I was just a little... surprised. But it's um, fine if you want yo call me that I guess!" he stuttered.
"Relax!" I laughed "It was a joke, Midoriya! I only wanted to see how you would react!"
Midoriya released a sigh of relief as I continued to laugh at his reaction to his nickname.
"Yes, I would love to train with you, Y/N!" he smiled, cheeks still pink from embarrassment.
"Great! It's a plan!"

"IT'S OVER, MIDORIYA! I'VE GOT THE HIGH GROUND!"
"Um, Y/N, we're both on level ground..." pointed out Midoriya.
"YOU WERE MY BROTHER, MIDORIYA! I LOVED YOU!"
"Y-You w-what??" spluttered Midoriya, turning red.
I took advantage of his confusion and swept my leg under his feet, before pinning him down.
"I was your brother...?" he asked, still trying to figure it out.
"No, Midoriya..." I sighed. "I AM YOUR FATHER!"
"What???... Ooooooh, you were quoting Star Wars!" he realised.
"It's a trap!!!"
"What is?"
"I don't know I ran out of quotes..." I smiled, getting off if him and offering him a hand. He took it and stood up, dusting off his hero suit.
"We should do this again tomorrow!" Midoriya proposed. "I want to work on my new fighting style!"
"Sure!"

I got home and imidiatly went upstairs to my bedroom. I'd do my homework later, but first I needed to find a website that sells fireproof shirts.
There were multiple sites that made custom clothes for people like Shoji and Ojiro and everyone else who had a mutation quirk.
I could just get one custom made but it wouldn't come cheap. Maybe I could find one already for sale...

"What are you getting for Todoroki's birthday?" I asked Midoriya during recess.
"I got him an All-You-Can-Eat coupon for his favourite restaurant." he replied.
"Cool! I bet he'll love that! I wonder... if he's ever had a birthday party before..." I said thoughtfully.
"We should throw him one!" agreed Midoriya.
"It's settled! I can ask Mina to help us get it set up! And Sato can make the cake! And Momo with the decorations!"
"Have you picked out his present yet?" he asked.
"Yep! It'll be delivered tomorrow! That leaves plenty of time to plan his surprise birthday party!"
"Who's invited? Should we invite the teachers or not?" mumbled Midoriya.
"Hmmm, how about just Aizawa? And maybe All Might..."
"Of course All Might!" he exclaimed.
"Alright, alright!" I laughed "I'll start working on the invitations after school!"

For the next couple of days I was busy planning Todoroki's birthday party. Momo, Mina and Sato all agreed to help.
All Might and Aizawa said they could come and gave us permission to use the dorm common room.
Aizawa sensei even offered to hold Todoroki in after class for a few minutes to give us time to set everything up.
"I can't wait to see the look on his face when he sees his party!" I told Midoriya the day before Todoroki's birthday (January 10th).
"Yeah, he'll definitely be surprised." he said.
"But I feel like something's missing." I muttered
"A card!" I exclaimed, snapping my fingers for emphasis. "I'll buy a card and the whole class can sign it!"
"Good idea!"

"In your places everyone! Sato, you can leave the cake on the table! Ojiro, make sure your tail is out if sight! Denki, don't you dare spike the punch!" I instructed as two pairs of footsteps could be heard coming down the hall.
Every hid, most people behind the couches, as I ran to turn off the lights and hide with them.
We all held our breath as Aizawa led Todoroki into the room.
"Where is everyone?" wondered Todoroki, confusedly looking around the dim room. Aizawa shrugged as he turned on the lights.
"SURPRISE!!!" the class yelled as we jumped out from behind the couch. Kirishima and Mina threw blue and red confetti in the air. Todoroki stood frozen in shock as he took it all in- the cake, the banner, the balloons, the presents and all of his classmates standing before him.
"What's all this?" he finally managed to say.
"It's a surprise birthday party for you!" I told him happily "I didn't think you'd ever had one, so I planned one for you!"
"I don't know what to say..." he said quietly.
"Then don't say anything! Just enjoy your party! Sato's cake looks delicious, what'd you say we start with that?" I proposed.
Todoroki nodded and we all gathered around the table as Sero lit the candles.
Todoroki looked around, an odd expression on his face as we started singing 'Happy Birthday' to him. The song ended, but he didn't blow out his candles. There was an awkward moment of complete silence, before I leaned closer to him and whispered:
"You have to blow out your candles and make a wish."
He made an 'oh' sound before leaning forward and blowing out all sixteen candles in one breath. The class cheered and a small smile appeared on his usually emotionless face.
"Present time!" announced Mina.
Todoroki opened each of his presents one by one, thanking each person in turn.
"Thank you, Kirishima. I've never owned a pair of Crocs before." he said to the redhead, setting the pair of shoes down in his ever growing pile of gifts.
"No problem, bro!" smiled Kirishima, giving him a thumbs up.
"My turn!" I said, passing Todoroki his present.
He opened it and held up the plain white long-sleeved shirt for everyone to see.
"It's a fireproof shirt!" I explained "That way the left side won't get burned away while you're training!"
"Thank you very much, L/N. This will come in very useful." Todoroki said, sounding genuinely thankful.
"Glad you like it!" I smiled.
Once he had opened all of his gifts, I handed him his card.
"This is from the whole class."
He smiled again as he read it, but a strange look appeared on his face when he got to the end.
"Who wrote: 'Die, IcyHot b*****d!!!'?"

The main part of the party was over. Now it was mostly just us hanging around in the common room, eating snacks and chatting. Someone (Denki) had put 'Frozen' on and 'Let it go!' was playing quietly in the background.
"Can I say something?" asked Todoroki to the room. Everyone imidiatly went quiet and Kaminari paused the movie to listen.
"Today has been the best birthday I have ever had." he said. "I would like to thank everyone, especially L/N for this party. Thank you."
He bowed and the room erupted into applause.
"By the way, what did you wish for?" I asked him quietly as our classmates returned to whatever they had been doing.
"I wished that every birthday could be like this one." he said.
"Really?" I asked skeptically.
"No. I wished Endeavor a painful death."
"Oh. That's a good wish, too." I smiled.
