The limo Maya and I had paid for honked from outside of the house. I grabbed my clutch and went outside. Mason wasn't here because the plan was for the fairytale ball, every girl had to show up in masks and the guys would be waiting at the hall already. I thought it was a pretty lame idea but I couldn't tell the committee, because the head of committee knew where I slept, seeing as it was 2 doors down from hers. I slipped my mask on and adjusted it before I was comfortable with having it on my face.

My mother smiled, despite her tears and hugged me tightly. I looked over at Maya who hugged both her mom, who showed up not to long ago, and dad and suddenly envied her. I frowned. My dad and I never really talked about this day, but I knew for sure he would have cried today. And I say that without meaning to sound conceited, but my dad cried every time I got all dressed up because he feared that his little girl was growing up. But now I really am growing up, and he's not here to cry this time.

I checked my clutch for my phone and everything else necessary, including flats, because there was no way I was staying in heels the whole night. Once I checked several times, I figured it was okay to go out to the limo. I walked outside, careful to go slow on the stairs because I know myself and with my luck, I would have tripped and fell and probably ripped my dress on the way down. I lifted my dress giving myself better access to the stairs and walked towards the limo.

Before I got inside, Maya's dad came running outside and pulled me in a hug. "You were always like a daughter to me. I hope you know that sweetheart." He pulled me closer and I resisted the urge to cry. Maya would kill me if I cried. She spent an hour doing my makeup. But the longer her dad hugged me, the closer I was to crying. Images of my dad flashed in my head and I knew that if her dad didn't let me go, I'd be in tears. Maya came out and her dad finally let me go. He smiled slightly and Maya and I got into the limo. Everyone waved and then the limo pulled off and headed to the hall.

The limo stopped in front of the hall and there were a bunch of people lingering outside with mask covering their eyes. Maya handed me my mask and smiled before we stepped out of the limo. The people standing around looked at us for a second before directing their attention elsewhere. Maya sighed from the lack of recognition and walked into the hall. I waited outside for a few minutes, hoping to see Mason. But when I received no luck, I retreated into the hall. Maya was handing the lady our tickets and she stamped our hands before allowing us into the hall. Amazing was an understatement when it come to describing this hall. There was an overall, ball feeling and stepping into this hall, I actually felt like a princess.

Maya headed over to the drink table and got us both some punch. She said she wanted to get some before the jocks spiked it, Typical high-schoolers... I picked out a table for us to sit at and Maya came back with the drinks for us to drink. We looked around and Maya's date nor mine were to be found. "You'd think. with this whole mask thing, those two idiots would've gotten a sign or something." She took a sip of her drink. "Lets dance." She grabbed my hand and pulled me out of my chair and on to the dance floor where everyone was close together and dancing.

We danced for awhile before it got too hot and I went outside for some fresh air. When I got outside there were a few people lingering outside. I sat down on the bench they had outside and sighed. I still haven't seen Mason and its almost been an hour into the dance. I heard footsteps coming towards me and I looked up. Mason stood in front of me his mask secured tightly on his face. I smiled and stood up and he held out his arms. I gave him a hug and then dragged him into the hall. "What took you so long?" He shrugged and pointed to his hair.

"Perfection takes time." I smiled and nodded. I looped my hand into his and we walked back to the table Maya had chosen for us. There she sat with her date, Jake, who had on a mask identical to Mason's. We both sat down and talked to them before Maya wanted to dance again. Mason and Jake remained at the table while Maya dragged me back onto the floor to dance.

I woke up with a sharp pain in the back of my neck. I don't know where the hell I was but it was dark and cold. My arms felt trapped and every time I tried to pull them they hurt. I sighed and tried to look and see if anything was familiar. But all I saw was darkness.

I struggled through the pain and pulled my arm free. I sat up and apparently too quickly because I was instantly dizzy. The feeling was sickening. I stood and felt for anything that even closely resembled a switch. It took me awhile to even find the wall, let alone a switch. But once I did, I immediately recognized the place as Lily's garage. But what the hell was I doing in here. I stumbled to the door and flipped the switch, opening the garage door. It was dark, and from what I could tell, I was still in my tuxedo, which judging by the amount of dirt, I wasn't going to be able to return. I inwardly groaned and continued down the path of her driveway.

My leg cramped from being in the awkward position that I woke up, for who know how long. I checked the watch on my wrist and cursed aloud. It was already two hours into prom. Charlie was going to hate me.

The first slow song of the night played and I grabbed Mason and drug him onto the floor with me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and I sighed as I leaned onto his chest. We swayed back and forth to the slow rhythm of the song and I felt like I had died and gone to heaven. I dreamed about this day since I was seven and now I'm here with Mason. It was supposed to feel right, but something felt wrong and I just couldn't place my finger on it.

The song ended and Mason's hand wrapped around mine and we walked towards the bathroom. "Mase... where are we going?" He didn't answer , but instead, dragged me into the men's bathroom and locked the door. "Mason, what are you doing?" He placed his fingers over his lips and walked slowly towards me. I backed further into the counter as he got closer.

"Months ago..." His voice had changed, gotten deeper. "You denied me something I asked for..." He stood right in front of my face, his hand reached out for my face. "You told me, there was something I couldn't have..." His hand stroked my face and I realized, that the feeling that I had earlier, the wrong feeling... I was right. Mason got closer and the smell of alcohol was very present on his breath. His hands grazed my hips and I shivered involuntarily. His touch was cold. His hands traveled up my body and entangled themselves into my hair. I groaned as he pulled me towards him and forcibly kissed me. I didn't melt into this kiss like I normally did...

Mason's POV

I fixed the sleeves on my tux and stumbled up the pathway to the dance. Someone was sitting on the bench next to the hall. Her face was buried in her hands and I heard sniffling. I touched her shoulder and Maya lifted her head from her hands. "Mason??" I sat next to her and she frowned. "How are you out here? I thought I saw you and Charls go towards the bathrooms?" I frowned and looked over at Maya.

"I just got here, Something happened and I left Charlie a bunch of messages letting her know I was going to be a little late... What do you mean you saw Charlie and I..." Everything pieced together in my head and I took off towards the bathrooms. I tried the women's bathroom first and after being yelled at by a bunch of girls in masks, I ran to the men's bathroom. The door wouldn't budge which meant it was locked from the other side. I pushed against it harder and the door budged open. Charlotte was against the counter with some douche in a mask.

I was enraged until I fully looked at her. There was a few tears running down her face and her lip was quivering the way it did when she was upset. The guy didn't notice the door was open, but Charlotte did, she looked over to me and her watering eyes looked relieved. I walked over to the guy and grabbed the back of his tux jacket and threw him onto the floor. Charlie scrambled off the counter and ran to the closed door. The guy, who I had a pretty good idea who he was, shuffled around on the floor. I ripped the mask off of his face and wasn't surprised when I found Tyler. "Oh look, you found me." He let out a sickly laugh.

"You're sick." Charlie's hand clutched on to my arm and she frowned. Her hair was a little frazzled and her makeup began to run. And even then, she looked beautiful. "I bet I know who put you up to this, someone as SICK as you." Her little voice boomed in the bathroom and Tyler did nothing but smile. But I guess he silence was conformation because Charlotte took off towards the door. I looked at the scumbag still lying on the floor and thought of what I could do to him, since Charlie left the bathroom, But I left instead because Charlie was more important.

"If you EVER come near Charlotte again, I will not hesitate to kill you." He laughed again, and I was beginning to realize how sick this guy really was. I ran out the bathroom after Charlotte leaving the laughing asshole on the ground.

Charlotte's POV

Oh I didn't know what I going to say, but god dammit I was upset. I grabbed my dress and ran towards the bathroom door, trying to remember what the whores dress looked like. I was being irrational at the moment but to be completely honest, my head was fogged. I went back into the hall and skimmed the crowd for someone in a pink dress. Turns out there were lots of girls in a pink dress. So, I decided to check them all. I say again, my head was fogged, so when I went around, ripping girls masks off? I was definitely seeing red. (That's metaphorically, since I'm looking for someone in as pink dress.)

After taking of at least 5 girls masks, and getting dirty looks, I felt someone's hand on my wrist. I whipped around only to see Mason and Maya. Maya looked concerned and Mason just as angry as I am. "Charlotte! You cannot just go around looking for her, by RIPPING off other girls mask."

"Yes the hell I can, and you definitely cannot stop me." I snatched my wrist out of his grip and continued on my little journey. It took at least 6 more girls before I finally found her. And when I did rip off her mask, I didn't say a word. I just punched her. "What the hell?!" She clutched her nose and I shook off my hand. "What the actual fuck Charlotte? Do you often go around punching random people in the nose? Or is tonight just my lucky night?!" She kept rambling on and I don't know, I guess I just got more pissed off because I punched her again. She shrieked and her hand flew to her eye. I went to punch her again but Mason's hand grabbed mine. "That's right, control your guard dog Mase."

I squirmed around in Mason's grasp but he didn't let me go. "You are a sick person Lily! Sick." She smiled and Mason loosened his grip enough to let me get comfortable, but not to move towards Lily.

"So I see you found my guard dog? Did he go all the way?" She laughed menacingly. I squirmed in Mason's grasp again but he tightened it again. "Or did your knight and shinning armor save you in time?"

"What is wrong with you?? Are you that fucking crazy to have someone rape me? What did I even do to you?"

"You ruined me?! When we were in 7th grade and now. You threw spaghetti on my shirt and then you take my boyfriend? And you took my best and only friend away." She looked over at Maya and Maya frowned.

"We weren't even close! I came over your house once in 5th grade, you tried to kiss me so I left and told you I wasn't ever coming back." Lily blushed and looked down at her hands.

"You aren't even worth it... I was just.. I don't know.. envious. You had friends, a dad who cared about you, and you had your virtue. The only thing I had was Mason, and even then you took that. You, a nobody, took everything I had, without even trying, and I wanted revenge. So what, I probably went about it the wrong way, but it was the only thing I could think of to do." By now, we had an audience. Mason let me go and I took his scolding look as a warning not to try anything.

"You couldn't just try to break us up like a normal jealous ex would?!" She shrugged her shoulders and I frowned. "You are seriously twisted, you might want to see about getting some medical help." She rolled her eyes and I started to walk away. "Oh.. and one more thing." I slapped her. Mason grabbed my hand and dragged me out of the hall and Maya followed closely behind. We all stopped outside and Mason frowned.

"Are you okay?" I checked my hand which was a little red and shrugged. "Not physically, although if your not okay physically, I can go back in there and chop that little squirrels head off. I meant emotionally... Like, Are you okay?" I thought about what might of happened in the bathroom if Mason... or anyone hadn't showed up. I thought about how that would have affected me in the future. and at first, I was okay.. hyped up off of adrenaline, but now as I come down, I feel like that maybe I'm not as okay as I thought I was.

I looked up at Mason, who's hand was on my face and I don't know what caused to do this, but I was overwhelmed with emotions and I didn't know whether I wanted to cry or kiss him, so I did both. In a way, I felt like I was crying for help and thanking him at the same time. I felt like I was pouring everything out into this kiss, all of my bottle up emotions were let go and I realized I wanted nothing more than to be win Mason. And I mean, really BE with Mason.

Maya cleared her throat and signaled towards the Limo that waited outside. "Jake drove here, so I'm actually going to hitch a ride with him. I'll see ya Charlie." She waved and ran towards Jake's car.

Mason and I climbed into the back seat of the limo and my hand clutched into his. He smiled at me and the limo drove us to his house. He thanked the driver and the driver drove off quickly. "You can sleep in your room tonight. My mom still hasn't cleared it out, so all you old things are still in there."

"Mason wait." He turned around and faced towards me. "I don't want to sleep in my room tonight." He frowned and sighed.

"I can take you home if you want... I know you haven't really been here since you dads funeral.." I laughed and stepped closer to him. My hands grabbed his face and I smiled.

"I don't want to go home... I want to stay with you.. I want to be with you." I took him a minute to process but when he did, he smiled and picked me up bridal style. We walked into the house and he laughed.

"I cant wait to do that on our wedding night" I blushed and he carried me upstairs and into his room.
