Sam and Alina were still waiting for something to happen, an occasion to jump in action, when the door suddenly opened and the sunlight blinded the young woman who was trying to see the ones entering the barn. It was the two same men as before, but this time there was a third one standing near the entrance, and they seemed to be coming for her. The two stopped in front of her cage, revealing their faces covered in dirt and filth. They smelled terribly bad, and still had some dried blood on their clothes. Probably from whatever they'd done to Jenkins the night before.

Seeing them already made Alina want to throw up, so it got even worse when one of them started to smile, checking her up and down. "Dad said we could keep you."

"She's pretty." The other said with the same excitement. "Let's bring her in the house."

Alina cringed at their words. "Okay...I don't know what you two freaks have in mind, but I'm not going anywhere with you."

The two men immediately started to laugh hysterically, which made Sam and Alina share the same uneasy look.

Suddenly one of them stopped laughing and went to grab the third one's shotgun. Alina first thought she'd be his target, but her heart almost stopped beating when the guy stopped next to Sam's cage and pointed the weapon at him. She grabbed the bars of her cage, furious. "Hey you touch him, I'll kill you! You hear me?!"

"We won't kill him yet." The other one said as he crouched in front of her, sliding his fingers throughout the bars to caress her cheek with a predatory smile on his face. "But you'll have to be nice."

Alina was definitely about to throw up. Right now, she wanted nothing more but to break each and every one of his fingers for even touching her like that, but one look at Sam with a shotgun directed to his head, and she realized that she didn't really have a choice. She clenched her teeth and closed her eyes to calm herself down.

"Alina no!" Sam recognized this look on his friend's face. She was going to accept the offer, to buy themselves some time. "Don't even think about it!"

"It's okay..."

"No it's not! You don't have to go with them!"

"Then what else am I supposed to do?!" She gave him an angry look. "Let them kill you?!"

She hated that the three guys were currently laughing at their argument. She wanted them dead, but until then, she couldn't let anything happen to Sam. She wouldn't be able to face Dean again if she didn't try to save his brother. She'd already done that mistake once with Charlie and Chris, and she was not willing to do it again.

So the young woman completely ignored her best friend's screams when the men opened her cage to let her out, and tied her hands with a rope so she wouldn't escape or try to fight back. She simply gave Sam one last smile before walking out of the barn with the three men and leaving him behind, knowing he would be safe for now.

LATER

Alina had met the entire family by now. It was just an older man, living alone in this creepy house with his three sons and his daughter who was still a child. But even though she was a child, Alina hadn't been surprised when the moment they'd been left alone, that girl, Missy, had simply walked closer to her and roughly pulled out some of the hunter's hair to stare at them with a smile. She seemed intrigued by them and it was concerning but understandable since her own hair had probably never been washed or combed.

Luckily Alina had enough hair so that wouldn't leave a huge hole in her head, but that didn't stop her from letting out a little 'Bitch!', the moment she felt the sharp pain that made her groan. That kid alone, was an entire horror movie.

The hunter was sitting on a chair in the middle of a room full of weird jars, knives and human body parts, and the rope around her wrist was now tied to the ceiling, so she was stuck with both her arms lifted above her head. She wasn't planning on escaping since she didn't want Sam to get hurt if she disobeyed, but even if she wanted to leave, it would be actually hard for her in that position. She really hoped Dean was close by now.

She'd been left alone in that creepy room for hours when she suddenly heard someone knock on the front door downstairs. She had to really focus to be able to hear a woman's voice from afar. "I'm...I'm Kathleen. I'm a deputy. What's your name?"

Of course Alina couldn't know that the same deputy had just cuffed Dean to her car before coming here. She'd preferred not to take any risk by bringing a civilian, and a felon with her, and she couldn't know how wrong she'd been.

"Missy. That's a pretty name."

Alina scoffed at that and shook her head in disbelief. "Sam's gonna have some company..."

She didn't have to wait too long after that to hear the loud noise of a human body falling to the ground. She sighed, wishing she'd been wrong about that ending. How did that deputy end up here anyway?

LATER

Kathleen woke up in a cage. Her jacket was gone, and her white t-shirt was now covered in dirt. She groaned in pain and rubbed her head, trying to sit up.

"You alright?" Sam called her from his cage, relieved to see her finally awake.

The deputy turned to him, surprised, until she recognized him from the photo she'd been carrying with her for the past two days. She couldn't believe it. "Are you Sam Winchester?"

"Yeah."

"Your...your cousin's looking for you."

Sam instantly knew she was talking about Dean. Of course he was looking for them. "Thank God. Where is he?"

"I...I cuffed him to my car."

They both sighed, losing their only strand of hope. The door of the barn opened at the same time, and Sam was convinced this was another visit from the crazy men who'd brought Kathleen here just a few minutes ago.

But Dean, who was carefully observing the barn in disgust, quickly noticed the familiar face of his brother inside one of the cages. "Sam?"

His little brother smiled the moment he realized that was Dean, and watched him get closer to his cage.

"Are you hurt?"

"No."

"Damn, it's good to see you." A huge grin appeared on his face. He'd found his little brother. But...someone was still missing. "Where's Alina? I thought she was with you."

"Yeah she was." Sam didn't really want to tell him the truth, but he couldn't keep this a secret if he wanted Dean to find her. "She left with them this morning."

"She did what?!" What the hell was that supposed to mean?!

"They threatened to kill me if she didn't cooperate. I'm sorry man...it's my fault."

Of course the eldest Winchester wasn't surprised to hear about Alina's choice to sacrifice herself for Sam. He just hoped she was alright. He didn't know what he'd do if she wasn't...

"It's okay Sammy. We'll find her."

"How did you get out of the cuffs?" Kathleen finally grabbed the hunter's attention as he turned around and saw her in a different cage.

"Oh, I know a trick or two." He couldn't help but think that Alina would make fun of him once he'd tell her about his escape. He'd struggled so much using the car's antenna, while she'd told him so many times to start carrying paper clips. Oh he couldn't wait to hear her making fun of him. He'd found Sam, but he wasn't done yet. "Alright." He moved to the door of the cage to check out the locks. "Oh, these locks look like they're gonna be a bitch."

"Well, there's some kind of automatic control right there." Sam pointed to the control panel he'd seen the men using so many times.

Dean looked at the panel, but turned back to his brother first to get the most important information. He needed to know what kind of monster had Alina right now. "Have you seen them?"

"Yeah. Dude, they're just people."

The hunter wasn't expecting that at all. "And they jumped you? Must be getting a little rusty there, kiddo." He walked over to the panel control and started to try different buttons. "What do they want?"

"I don't know. They let Jenkins go, but that was some sort of trap. It doesn't make any sense to me."

"Well, that's the point. You know, with our usual playmates, there's rules, there's patterns. But with people, they're just crazy. That's another reason to hurry up and find Alina."

He really needed to see her face right now. He needed to know she was okay. And since the control panel needed a key, he decided to leave and go get it, hoping to find Alina at the same time. If she wasn't in the barn, she had to be inside the house.

And Alina was indeed still waiting on her chair, sighing in boredom. She could hear the father butchering something in the kitchen, not too far from the room she was locked in. He had to be making dinner, and Jenkins was on the menu. The poor guy was annoying, but he clearly didn't deserve to die just to be eaten by a bunch of crazy cannibals. That was just disgusting.

Alina closed her eyes, humming an AC/DC song to pass the time since she had no idea when they'd come for her, until Missy's sudden screams made her stop.

"Daddy! Daddy!"

The door of the room was locked so Alina had no idea of what could've been the source of those screams, but she quickly heard people fighting after that. Yes, she'd been waiting for Dean to come and save her, but right now she was hoping this wasn't him fighting against this freaky family. He would be clearly outnumbered.

Alina bit her lip in frustration. She could hear the noises, but she couldn't free herself to go see what was going on. Unfortunately, just a few seconds after the house went silent, she heard a familiar voice that made her want to smile and panic at the same time.

"I'm gonna kick your ass first. Then yours. And yours."

Dean. He sounded exhausted and in pain, so Alina wasn't surprised when she once again heard the sound of a body violently hitting the ground.

LATER

Dean slightly woke up, trying to understand why his head was hurting so much. He could feel his hands tied behind his back, and started to remember his fight against the three creepy guys while he was searching for Alina.

"'Morning sunshine."

The hunter almost thought he'd imagined that voice, but when he turned his head to his left, Alina was there, sitting on a chair next to him with her arms lifted above her head by the rope tied to the ceiling, keeping her from running away.

She'd been moved to the living room downstairs by the father and the eldest brother, while the other two were tying Dean down to another chair. They clearly wanted her to give them some informations about this intruder, but she'd kept her mouth shut. They'd decided to wait for Dean to wake up to get their answers, so they'd left the two hunters alone. And Alina had kept her eyes on Dean the whole time, hoping for him to finally wake up. She was so worried.

"Alina?" Dean still felt a little dizzy, but he was convinced that wasn't just his mind playing tricks with him. She was really here, she was alive. And she was smiling at him.

"My hero." She announced sarcastically to lighten up the mood. "That was your brilliant rescue plan?"

The Winchester simply chuckled, happy to hear her joking. "Oh you know me. I'm not done yet."

"Obviously..."

They both shared a smile. They just couldn't describe what they were feeling right now, finally seeing each other after two whole days of not being able to think about anything else than this moment. Well, Dean smiled for a few seconds until he got a better look of Alina. Yes, she was tied up to the ceiling, but she also had a little cut on her cheek, with dried blood dripping out of it.

"You okay? What did they do to you?"

"I'm alright. What about you? I heard you fighting earlier."

Dean was slowly remembering the fight, and wanted to keep one particular detail to himself. Unfortunately, that was the second thing Alina brought up right away.

"Did they stab you? You're bleeding."

Dean's sudden silence made her think for a moment. Yes she'd heard the fight, but right before that, she'd also heard that little monster screaming. A smile started to appear on her lips as she could now picture the scene in her mind. "Wait...don't tell me you got stabbed by a little girl."

Dean sighed while Alina was doing her best to laugh discreetly, but it was just hilarious. The young man just let her laugh, happy to see her being so full of joy. She finally calmed down after a few seconds, still smiling slightly as she went back to a more serious topic. "Have you seen Sam?"

"Yeah he told me what you did for him. You're an idiot."

"Oh I'm definitely an idiot. Because I thought all I needed to do was to buy ourselves some time until you'd come and save us. Looks like I'm gonna have to be the one saving your ass once again, Winchester. But it was nice of you to try."

Dean just loved it when she acted so confident. Even when she had absolutely no reason to act like that. He smiled and kept staring at her. "Dammit I really wanna kiss you right now, Frenchy."

She smiled too, feeling the exact same frustration as him. "I've missed you too Dean."

That moment was so overwhelming for them, they hated to see it get ruined so quickly by the little family's return. They all gathered around them, looking as creepy as ever.

One of the boys, Lee, started to smile when he saw that the hunter was now awake. He turned to his father excitedly. "Come on. Let us hunt him."

"Yeah, this one's a fighter. Sure would be fun to hunt." The other one, Jared, sounded just as eager as his brother. They were so disgusting, but the worst of them all had to be the father, laughing at his sons' enthusiasm.

"Oh, you gotta be kidding me." Dean let out in annoyance once he realized what they were talking about. "That's what this is about? You...you yahoos hunt people?"

Alina smiled at his reaction. Only Dean could look and sound so relaxed in a situation like this one, making fun of the cannibals like it was nothing.

"You ever killed before?" The older man asked him with a grin.

Dean frowned and faintly chuckled at the question. "Well, that depends on what you mean."

"I've hunted all my life. Just like my father, his before him. I've hunted deer and bear...I even got a cougar once. Oh boy. But the best hunt is human. Oh, there's nothing like it. Holding their life in your hands. Seeing the fear in their eyes just before they go dark. Makes you feel powerful alive."

"You're a sick puppy." Dean told him, totally unimpressed by his threatening tone.

"That's exactly how wendigos are created..." Alina grumbled and Dean nodded at that. He couldn't agree more and he would've actually preferred having to fight against one of those creepy creatures instead of this family of freaks.

The father, however decided to ignore Alina's strange comment, resuming his little explanation. "We give them a weapon. Give them a fighting chance. It's kind of like our tradition passed down, father to son. Of course, only one or two a year. Never enough to bring the law down, we never been that sloppy."

"Yeah, well, don't sell yourself short. You're plenty sloppy."

Alina rolled her eyes and turned to Dean. "Do you really need to provoke the cannibal right now?"

"What? I think I'm hilarious." He gave her a fake offended look that actually infuriated the older man even more, since they were clearly ignoring him.

"So, what, you with that pretty cop? Are you a cop?"

Alina also faked a stunned look, glancing at him in shock. "Are you?"

She got a smile from Dean who simply replied to the man standing in front of them. "If I tell you, you promise not to make me into an ashtray?"

And as expected, his insolence made one of the sons walk over to them and punch him in the face. Alina cringed at that, even though she knew Dean could handle a little punch. She wanted to rip that guy's annoying smile off his face for what he'd just done.

"Only reason I don't let my boys take you right here and now is that there's something I need to know." The man walked to the fireplace and grabbed a hot poker. Alina knew where this was heading, and really didn't like this idea.

"Yeah, how about it's not nice to marry your sister?" Dean mocked them, not knowing that this joke was about to cause him a lot more anger than he already felt.

The three brothers laughed as the eldest one, Pete, slowly got closer to Alina. "Don't worry about that." He said while grabbing Alina's chin to make her look up at him with his face only a few inches away from hers. "This one here's gonna make a perfect wife for us."

Alina didn't move, staring back at him with murderous eyes. Dean felt his blood boiling in his veins when he saw that guy touching Alina like that. He quickly lost his temper and tried to free himself with a groan of anger. "Hey you better get your hand off of her right now or I swear I'm gonna make you eat it like a dog once I cut it off!"

This seemed to amuse the whole family as they started to smile and laugh at his reaction. The father also took this opportunity to keep questioning him. "Tell me...any of the cops gonna come looking for you?"

"Oh, eat me. No, no, no, wait, wait, wait...you actually might."

Before Alina could add anything, Jared suddenly grabbed Dean to hold his head in place while his father was getting closer with the hot poker. "You think this is funny? You brought this down on my family."

Alina really didn't like where this was going. She pulled her face away from the son's hand and turned to the father. "Wait! Don't do that!"

But he completely ignored her, keeping his eyes on Dean. "Alright, you wanna play games? We'll play some games. Looks like we're gonna have a hunt tonight after all, boys. And you get to pick the animal. The boy or the cop?"

This time, at the mention of his brother Dean also started to panic. He didn't want to joke around anymore. "Okay, wait, wait...look, nobody's coming for me, alright? It's just us."

"You don't choose, I will." And he suddenly placed the hot poker on Dean's shirt, making him scream in pain.

"Stop!" Alina was desperately pulling on the rope tied around her wrist. "Stop it, please!" She didn't care about the way the whole family was laughing at her reaction, but she did relax a little when the old man removed the poker from Dean.

"Ah, you son of a bitch!" Dean grunted before the man placed the poker barely an inch away from his eye.

"Next time, I'll take an eye."

"Alright, the guy, the guy!" Dean finally answered. "Take the guy!"

Alina didn't want Sam to get hurt, but he was right to chose him. He was more than capable of defending himself and had more chances to survive this. Still, her whole body was starting to burn in anger at the thought of her best friend getting hurt, and the sight of Dean being tortured right in front of her.

They finally let go of Dean when the old man took a key from around his neck and handed it to his son. "Lee, go do it. Don't let him out, though. Shoot him in the cage."

"What?! No!" Alina screamed as they watched Lee walking to the door.

"I thought you said you were gonna hunt him! You were gonna give him a chance!"

The father smiled and slowly turned to his son. "Lee, when you're done with the boy...shoot the bitch, too."

His son nodded and left with his rifle.

"Hey I did what you asked me to do!" Alina protested, furious. "You said you wouldn't hurt him!"

The old man now spoke to his eldest son. "How about you take this one to your room and have some fun while your brothers clean up their mess?"

Pete instantly laughed at this and climbed on a chair to untie Alina's rope from the ceiling. That made Dean fight even more as he knew exactly what that guy was about to do to her. "Don't touch her! I'm gonna kill you if you fucking touch her!" He tried moving to maybe untie his restraints or even break his chair, but he couldn't free himself as he saw Alina being pulled away from him with the rope.

"Dean!" She yelled desperately trying to stay with him by fighting back as much as she could.

"Alina! Let her go!"

But Pete's brother, Jared, quickly grabbed Alina to lift her up while the eldest was still holding her rope. She yelled and struggled against her kidnappers, but eventually got thrown inside a room by Jared, who walked out and let Pete close the door behind him. She was ready to fight against him now that they were alone, but the gunshot she heard at this moment coming from outside the house, made her freeze completely. Sam...

She could still hear Dean shouting in the living room. "You hurt my brother or you touch my girl, I'll kill you, I swear. I'll kill you all. I will kill you all!"

"You heard my dad?" Pete grabbed Alina's attention back, walking towards her with a satisfied look on his face. "Let's have fun."

Alina's heart was beating so fast, she wouldn't have been surprised to see it jumping out of her chest. Her hands were shaking uncontrollably, and she just couldn't think straight anymore. It was almost as if everything around her was turning red. She pictured Sam's unconscious body lying on the ground of that barn, with a bullet hole in his head. She pictured Dean in the living room, with that hot poker right next to his eye and that old asshole enjoying his suffering. She was thinking about so many things at the same time, she couldn't even see Pete reaching her to grab her arm and squeeze it firmly.

He was about to forcefully kiss her, when she surprised him by simply lifting her head to look straight into his eyes. They looked completely dead, empty. Her cheeks, full of dirt from the time she'd spent in her cage, still had the marks of her tears. Pete stared at her for a moment, confused by her lack of reaction, until a sudden scream right next to him made him let go of her. He quickly checked his surrounding to find the source of that scream, but they were still alone. Then another scream, this time right behind him, made him flinch and spin on himself. This kept going until his mind was now completely filled by the screams of his victims right before he'd killed them. Screams of pain, fear, supplication...

It was deafening. Pete fell on his knees, holding his head with both his hands, begging for it to stop. The screams were so loud that he didn't even hear Alina stopping behind him, and slide her tied hands in front of him, using her arm to strangle him. The man tried to grab her arms, but she didn't let go of him. She squeezed his neck just enough for him to lose consciousness after just a few seconds of pressure.

Alina slid with him to the ground, to prevent his fall from making any noise, and pushed him away from her once she was totally sure that he was gone for a while now. She slowly stood back up, panting in exhaustion, watching him with disgust. He was still alive but...

"I should've killed you."

She could've gone that far if she wasn't so worried about the Winchesters. She didn't want to lose any more time on that guy, so she quickly unlocked the door and walked out of the room. She still had the rope around her wrists, but she needed to make sure Dean was alright. She rushed to the living room, and was surprised to see that the only family member left with him was the little girl. She was threatening him with a knife, keeping an eye on him while her dad and her brothers were gone.

Alina was so relieved to see that the hunter was alright, that her anger slightly disappeared to let a smile appear on her lips. That sight was actually quite funny from her point of view. Dean being held prisoner by a normal human kid was one thing the hunter didn't think she'd ever see in her life.

"Hey Missy." Alina called the girl who instantly turned with an angry look, now pointing her knife at her. "Oh come on, do we really have to do that? I thought we were friends now. Well...you did pull my hair and stab this one behind you, but everybody makes mistakes, right?" She gave the child a fake smile that obviously didn't work.

Missy quickly rushed towards the hunter with a groan, holding up her knife, ready to attack her. Alina rolled her eyes and simply moved aside, making the girl trip on her lifted foot. She fell unconscious the moment her head hit the hard wooden floor, and the hunter watched her from above with an annoyed expression on her face. "Bitch."

She took the little girl's knife that had landed a few inches away from her, and used it to cut her rope. Finally she was free.

Alina then turned to Dean, still tied to his chair in the middle of the room, watching her with worried and happy eyes. "Hey you alright? Did that freak touch you?"

The young woman smiled and shook her head. "Told you I'd save your ass, Winchester."

Dean faintly chuckled as she was now cutting his rope with the same little knife. He was so relieved to see her. "Yeah. You did."

And the moment the rope fell off of him, Dean stood up and wrapped his arms around Alina to hold her tightly like he'd been wanting to for the past two days. She hugged him back, taking her time to really appreciate the familiar warmth she could only find against Dean's strong body. He then pulled away to grab her face and make sure she wasn't hurt besides the little cut on her cheek, but she gave him a reassuring smile before he could say anything. "I'm fine." She also cupped his cheeks in relief. "I've missed you so much."

"Yeah..." He softly caressed her face, letting her lean into his touch with her eyes closed. "Me too." He wanted to kiss her so bad in that moment. He would've kissed her, if they hadn't been forced to pull away from each other to dodge the attack of the furious eldest son. He'd woke up way sooner than Alina expected him to. He'd been so fast to rush towards them with an axe, that he hadn't been able to slow down, letting the axe get stuck into the wall in front of him. He was trying to get it out, when Dean suddenly grabbed the collar of his shirt, and punched him in the face with all his strength. He couldn't stop thinking about that guy's hands touching Alina without her permission. He couldn't stop picturing all the horrible things he was going to do to her when he'd brought her into that room. Pete was already on the floor when Dean threw himself at him, and hit him once again as hard as he could. He wanted him dead, just for thinking about hurting Alina. He wanted that guy to die.

"Dean, stop!"

Alina grabbed his fist while it was still raised in the air, ready to land on the guy's face for the fifth time. The dangerous man was now covered in his own blood, and he was still breathing even though he was badly injured. He would live, but at least now he really wouldn't wake up for a moment.

Dean slowly turned to face Alina, crouching next to him with a tender smile. "It's over. I'm fine, I'm right here." She gently helped him get back up with her, opening his now bloody hand to put it back on her cheek. She wanted him to feel her, to really see her. She kept smiling at him until Dean's anger totally faded away and he let his whole body relax as his lips crushed onto hers. They both felt like an eternity had passed since the last time they'd kissed. They melted into each other's embrace, unable to let go.

He'd finally found her. And she was alright.

He'd finally found her. And he would be alright now.

They had to separate when they heard a new noise coming from the front door, ready to defend themselves against this new threat. But fortunately, the face that appeared behind the door made the two hunters smile and sigh in relief. Alina quickly pulled away from Dean and ran to Sam, jumping in his arms before he made her spin in the air joyfully. He'd been wanting to hug her ever since they'd woke up in these cages. When he put her back on her feet, she was fast to grab his face and pull him down towards her to carefully search for any signs of wounds. "Are you okay? Are you hurt? How did you escape? Are you sure you're okay?"

"Easy Frenchy." Dean had to step in, saving his brother from his worried best friend. "You're scarier than the cannibals."

Sam scoffed at his brother comment and shared a relieved look with him.

"It's good to see you free Sammy." Dean said, putting his hand on his little brother's shoulder.

They just couldn't do it. They just couldn't hug. That was stupid, and Alina was about to scold them when Dean surprised them both by pulling the two hunters into a tight embrace. Sam and Alina had to take a second or two to realize what was happening, before they eventually hugged him back. The young woman proudly smiled against him. She could only imagine how worried Dean must've been for the past 48 hours, searching for them everywhere, not knowing if he would actually find them alive. But they were back together, and that was the best feeling ever.

LATER

Since she'd finally found the answer of her brother's disappearance thanks to the three hunters, the deputy Kathleen chose to let them go before the state police and the FBI arrived. Alina had felt her sorrow after Dean had told her how sorry he was about her brother, and knew that knowing the truth couldn't make her feel any better, but at least the murders would finally stop. No one else would have to go through that ever again. And they definitely couldn't blame her for killing that old man back in the barn. That was some fair retribution.

Of course the deputy refused to drop them at the police station where the Impala was still parked, so they shared one last thankful look with her, before they finally started to walk towards the road, in the middle of the night. They didn't know how far away from the police station they were, but it felt good to have a moment to themselves. Just the three of them, getting some fresh air after such a messed up case. People were the worst monsters.

"Never do that again." Dean told them once they reached the main road.

"Do what?" Sam and Alina asked in chorus.

"Go missing like that."

Alina smiled at how adorable he sounded and looked, while Sam just had to make fun of him. "You were worried about us."

"All I'm saying is, you vanish like that again, I'm not looking for you."

"Sure, you won't."

"I'm not."

"Well you hear that, Alina? Looks like next time you won't have to worry so much about him."

Dean turned to her with a smirk. "You were worried about me?"

She sighed, hitting Sam in the arm for telling Dean about that one detail. "Of course I was worried about you, Winchester. You would be completely lost without us."

"I mean..." Sam continued in his mocking tone. "He did got sidelined by a thirteen-year-old girl..."

Dean stopped in the middle of the road, giving Alina his most terrifying angry look. "When did you even get the time to tell him about that?!"

Sam laughed, but his best friend chose to ignore him, walking faster to avoid Dean's fury now that he was following her again.

"Just saying, getting rusty there, kiddo." Sam still made fun of him by using his own words against him.

And it did make Dean chuckle even if he was trying to hide it. "Shut up."

Alina loved hearing Sam laughing like a kid. She turned around, walking backwards to watch the brothers from her spot.

"What are you looking at, Frenchy?"

She smiled and shrugged. "I just...I feel lucky right now."

Sam frowned in amusement. "Because we just escaped from a cannibal family?"

"Well...yeah but..." She knew she'd probably ruin the playful atmosphere if she made a cheesy comment about loving them and being glad to have them in her life. So she decided to keep that to herself just for this one time. "Mostly because that cannibal family almost became my new in-laws."

Sam smiled at the way Dean was cringing at her words. She turned around and kept walking in front of them proudly, crossing her arms to protect herself from the cold wind they were facing. She really wished she was even in the worst motel room that could ever exist right now. She was tired, and surprised when after less than a minute she felt someone placing a warm jacket on top of hers. She turned to see Sam giving her a warm smile. He hadn't been able to warm her up when they'd spent an entire night in the cages, so he hadn't hesitated to put his jacket on her shoulders the moment he'd seen her slightly shivering. She smiled back at him almost immediately, not noticing Dean behind them, pouting at his brother's quick reaction, already taking off his own jacket and running to catch up with them.

"Sam's jacket is way too large for you. Here take mine."

Dean grabbed the piece of clothing on her shoulders and handed her his own, but Sam quickly got his jacket back and pushed away Dean's hand as they were placing the other jacket on her shoulders.

"Dude come on, just let her have mine."

This time, it was Dean's turn to block Sam's way when he tried to give his jacket back to his best friend.

"Okay how about you back off, Sammy?"

"You back off! I'm taller than you!"

"Yeah?! I'm older!"

"I'm her best friend!"

"I'm her boyfriend!"

This last word made the three of them stop automatically. Even Dean was astonished by his own choice of words. He'd called Alina his girlfriend when he'd told Kathleen about her, but that was the first time he was actually saying something like that in front of her, and Sam. Still staring at his brother like they'd been frozen in spot, Dean slowly turned towards Alina to see her reaction. And...she was smiling. She was also frowning because she'd clearly been taken aback, but she was actually smiling, just like Sam was enjoying this little embarrassing moment between the two most important people in his life.

Dean also smiled like an idiot, until he remembered that right before this whole story, he'd promised Alina to keep a certain distance between them when Sam was around. So he quickly cleared his throat and let go of Sam's jacket to let him have it back.

"Yeah...whatever. That's no big deal." He shrugged and started to walk again, leaving the two friends standing behind him, sharing the same knowing look and smile.

Sam was the first one to call his brother. "It's okay, Dean. Stop being awkward because of me."

Dean turned back to them, confused about his brother's statement. "What? What do you mean?"

Alina sighed. "We were trapped next to each other for more than 24 hours. We got to talk about a lot of things, including the fact that we actually don't have to hide our relationship in front of him."

Dean instantly glanced at Sam, relieved to see him nod in agreement. So he could do whatever he wanted to do right now?

"Oh hell yeah." The eldest Winchester rushed to the girl, throwing his jacket in Sam's face so his hands would be free to grab Alina's waist and eagerly press his lips against hers. He could feel her smile and kiss him back, running her fingers through his hair with the same intensity he put in caressing the lower part of her back.

They didn't pay attention to Sam, rolling his eyes at them in amusement, already starting to resume his little walk in the middle of the night.

When the two hunters pulled away with their forehead still resting against each other, they couldn't help but grin at the amazing sensation of being reunited. That was until Dean's jacket was suddenly thrown at him, hitting the back of his head, forcing him to let go of Alina to grab it before it could reach the ground. That quick reaction was so hot, Alina had to control the heat in her cheeks when the eldest brother turned to the youngest, angrily. "Oh I'm gonna kick your ass for that, Sammy!"

"You mean the same way that little girl kicked yours?"

"I said shut up!"

Alina quickly chuckled at them. "Kids..."

Well it was a relief to see that nothing had really changed between the three of them. They were still happy to be together on the road...

...at least for now.
