Mew and her friends continue to make their way to Ecruteak City, suddenly, they hear a strange sound direct their attention skyward. They soon see a small Pidge wearing a cap and holding something in distress as it's being chased by a Fearow. Everyone gasps in shock and is worrying. The Fearow tries pecking at the Pidgey as it tries desperately to escape. The Pidgey tries to head downward, but the Fearow still follows.

Misty is in a panic, "Oh, no! That big Fearow's attacking that little Pidgey!"

Molly calls out, "Go away! Leave it alone!"

"Yeah! Pick on someone your own size!" Tomo calls out.

Mew brings out her Pokeballs, "I got it!" Then throws it, "Noctowl, I choose you!"

Soon, Noctowl comes out of their Pokeball.

Mew calls out, "Noctowl, go and help that Pidgey!"

The two soon fly off into action as the Fearow closes in on its target. But then, Noctowl blocks the way and uses Hypnosis on it to make Fearow think it's battling a Charizard, causing it to fly away in fear.

"That Fearow acted like it just saw a ghost!" Misty says.

"Noctowl's Hypnosis attack scared it away!" Brock says.

And you saved that Pidgey," Jen says.

Just then, the Pidgey warbles as it is seen plummeting towards the forest.

Mew cries out, "Ah! The Pidgey!"

The group races after it and soon finds it in a gorge, on a cliff right over a river.

"There it is!" Mew says.

Then Mew has an idea and brings out her other Pokeball, "Pidgeot, I need your help!" And call it out.

"Pidgeot, can you get the little Pidgey that fell. It's down there," Mew says, and points to the Pidgey's location.

Pidgeot flies down and offers its assistance. Pidgey seems a little scared at first, but Pidgeot rubs its beak against the little Pidgey's head, calming it down. Pidgey soon offers the help, and Pidgeot flies Pidgey back up to safety. Soon, Brock and Mew are bandaging Pidgey's wings.

"There. It'll be good as new in no time," Brock says.

"Feeling better little Pidgey?" Mew asks.

Pidgey answers, (Yes. Thank you so much for saving me.)

Pidgeot answers, (It's no problem. Glad to see you're safe.)

Then Misty notices, "Look! It's carrying something."

"Yeah," Tomo says.

"It must have a trainer because it's wearing a cute hat," Jen says.

Then Mew has an idea, "Hey! Let's take it with us, and maybe we can find its trainer."

"Good idea," Misty says.

Soon, the group arrives at a port city, and are making their way to the Pokemon Center.

"Maybe someone at the Pokemon Center will know who your trainer is," Brock says.

Soon, the group looks up and sees multiple carrier Pidgey flying about.

"Wow! There sure are lots of Pidgey here," Misty says.

"And look! They're all carrying something. Just like this one is," Tomo says.

Then look at the Pidgey they have, "I wonder if they all have the same trainer as you do."

Suddenly, a young boy runs towards the group, "Ken! Is that you? Where have you been? Are you okay?"

They look to see a young boy wearing a green cap and red and yellow shirt.

The Pidgey, who's real name is Ken, nods to confirm.

The boy rushes over and says, "I was so worried about you."

Then Brock hands Ken back to his trainer.

Then the boy notices something about Ken, "What's that bandage? What did you do?! Try to hurt my friend?!"

"Us?" Mew, her friends, and her Pokemon react in shock

And Brock explains, "We weren't the ones who hurt your Pidgey, we patched its wing up after it got attacked by a Fearow."

The boy is confused, until Ken nods to confirm their story.

"It was in pretty bad shape when we found it," Brock says.

"I knew something was wrong. I'm sorry I blamed you guys," The boy says.

"You should be pretty proud of that Pidgey of yours," Mew says.

But the boy says, "Oh, it's not mine. It's my grandpa's carrier Pidgey."

Everyone becomes confused.

"His carrier Pidgey?" Molly says, confused.

"Yeah, look!" The boy says.

The group soon sees a Pidgey lands, tap on the window, and gives the man who opens the window his delivery.

"Oh, thanks very much," The man says.

Then the boy explains, "See? The Pidgey flies stuff all over. For more than fifty years, my grandpa's been sending a whole flock of them with packages and newspapers to the islands nearby that don't have regular ferry service. Everybody here calls my grandpa the Pidgey Express Man, cause he was the one who came up with the idea of carrier Pidgey."

He must be famous," Mew says.

"Pika!/Eev!" (I'll say.) Pikachu and Eevee say, impressed

"It's hard to train the Pidgey, and sometimes they get lost, but I want to be a Pidgey Express Man someday, too," The boy says.

Then introduces himself, "By the way, I'm Malachi."

"My name's Mew. And these are my partners, Pikachu, and Eevee" Mew says.

And then Misty, "And I'm Misty. And meet my Pokemon, Pichu and Togpei."

"I'm Brock," Brock says.

"I'm Tomo, and these are Meloetta and Skwovet," Tomo says.

"I'm Molly," Molly says.

Then Jen says, "And I'm Jen, and these are my friends Amaura and Snubbull."

As the group introduces themselves, Team Rocket is spying on them from the sewers.

Meowth laughs, "Carrier Pidgey. That's a money making concept."

All we have to do is steal those Pidgey and we're in business!" James says.

Jessie smiles and says, "You just never know when something wonderful will turn up!"

WOBBUFFET! ("When or where!") Wobgget says.

"I said wonderful, not blunderful," Jessie says and recalls Wobbuffet.

James then brings out a net, "Alright, let's go grab that one!"

But Jessie says, "What are you talking about? Catching one carrier Pidgey isn't going to get us anywhere!"

"Well, what do we do then?" James questions.

"We're gonna catch every single one, "Jessie says.

Then James asks, "But how do we do that?"

"How should I know?! I've already had my idea for the day!" Jessie says.

"Oh, right," James replies.

Then Meowth says, "Hey! I got a good idea!"

"Really?" Jessie and James ask.

"Just leave it all to Meowth," Meowth says.

Meanwhile, Malachi takes Mew and her friends to see where his grandpa works, the Pidgey Express building. The building has a Pidgey on it.

Malachi says, "That's it over there. That's the Pidgey Express building. We live there, too." And Malachi takes the group up the roof. "My grandpa's been training carrier Pidgey since he was my age. Grandpa says that if you spend enough time with your Pidgey, after a while, you can get to tell what all of their chirps mean."

"That's pretty cool," Tomo says.

"This is the Pidgey coop," Malachi says.

The group look inside to see the Pidgey resting in their nest while they see a grown middle aged man, Malachi's grandpa is showing some of the Pidgey their delivery routes.

The man says, Alright, pay attention. Wingy, you go here. Flingy, you go here. Dingy, you go here. And Norman, you go down here."

Soon the four Pidgey agree and fly off to make their deliveries.

Then Malachi calls out, "Look who I found, grandpa."

Malachi's grandpa turns to see his grandson and Ken, "You found Ken!"

"It got attack by a Fearow, but Mew and all his friends chased it away," Malachi says.

"Well, thank you very much," The man says and Ken flies into his arms, "You were lucky, old friend."

Ken chirps to confirm.

"And we were lucky you came along. My name is Denjiro. Why don't you come inside and have some refreshments with us?" The man says.

Soon, the group is enjoying some refreshments.

"Can your carrier Pidgey fly messages any place in the whole world?" Brock asks.

No, I'm afraid they don't have the stamina for that, Brock," Denjiro says.

"How do you train them to find their way?" Misty asks.

"Is there some kind of an ancient secret," Mew asks.

"I hate to disappoint you, Mew, but there's really no secret to it," Denjiro says, "All I do is fly the Pidgey in a mini blimp and show them the routes over and over again."

Mew and the others are impressed.

"Wow," Misty says.

"That must take years," Mew says.

"You must be a really great trainer," Brock says.

"Not really," Denjiro says, "It takes a lot more time than talent."

Then Malachi says, "Hey, grandpa. I'm gonna go check on the Pidgey, okay?" and heads to the coop with Ken behind him.

"Your grandson really loves working with those Pidgey, too. Guess he'll be Pidgey Express Man someday," Mew says.

But Denjiro says, "I know Malachi would like nothing better than to take over the business for me when I retire. Unfortunately, that won't happen."

"Really?" Mew questions in surprise, "But he's the perfect one to take over the Pidgey Express."

"He thinks I have, and maybe that's true, but when I retire, the Pidgey Express ends," Denjiro says.

Everyone is shocked to hear the news.

"But it's your family business," Misty says, surprised.

"Why would you end it?" Tomo asks.

"The world is a much different place today than it was when I started the business, Tomo," Denjiro says, "We just can't compete with airplanes and email. And you have to dedicate your life to a business like this. On stormy nights, you can't get to sleep until the very last Pidgey returns safely from making its delivery. And when the Pidgey gets lonely and scared, you have to sit up with them until they fall asleep. I couldn't even get away when my son got married or when my grandson was born. I've missed a lot of things in life that I don't want Malachi to miss."

Meanwhile, Malachi is sweeping in the coop. He soon hears a Pidgey behind him.

Malachi says, "Don't worry, Speedy, you look better already." Then hears another, "Oh, no, you have to take off one more day, Crasher. You can fly tomorrow."

Ken starts flying around his head.

Malachi chuckles, "Hey, cut it out, Ken! I got a lot of work to do!" and laughs, "Come on! Quit it!"

As this happens, Mew and the others watch from the entrance.

"He really loves those Pidgey, doesn't he?" Mew says.

"Toge Toge Piiiii!" (He sure does!) Togepi says.

"Pichu Pichu Pichu," (And the Pidgey loves him.) Pichu says.

"He'll be so sad when his grandfather closes down," Misty says.

"I think the Pidgey will be, too," Brock says.

"Pika," (Very.) Pichu says.

"Eevee Eevee," (They'll all be sad.) Eeve says.

Soon, a video phone rings inside the living quarters.

Denjiro walks over and picks up, "Hello? Pidgey Express Man."

On the video phone, Nurse Joy answers, "Hello? This is the Pokémon Center on Weiowei Island."

"Ah, Nurse Joy," Denjiro says.

"I'm sorry to bother you, but I'm getting worried about the carrier Pidgey. The medicine still hasn't arrived. Have the Pidgey left yet?" Nurse Joy says.

Soon, multiple injured Pokemon, including a Muk, a Lickitung, a Scyther, an Ekans, a Poliwag, a Caterpie, a Bellsprout and a Geodude come into view

"Yes, they have," Denjiro says.

Nurse Joy grows concerned, "Oh, that's what I was afraid of. It shouldn't take them this long to get over here. Maybe they got lost,"

"You're right, Nurse Joy. Something must be wrong," Denjiro says.

Then heads outside with his binoculars in hand to see if he can spot the missing Pidgey, "Where could they be?"

"Grandpa, what's that matter?" Malachi says.

"The Pidgey I sent to Nurse Joy three hours ago haven't delivered their packages yet," Denjiro says. "What's worse is they were carrying medicines for the sick and injured Pokemon at her Pokemon Center!"

Alright. I'll go and find them," Malachi volunteers.

"What?!" Denjiro questions.

Molly asks, "How are you gonna do that?"

Malachi heads to a shutter and presses a button to open it.

Denjiro asks, "Malachi, what do you think you're doing?!"

The shutter soon opens to reveal the blimp Denjiro uses to teach the Pidgey their routes.

"What's that?" Tomo asks.

"This is the blimp grandpa uses for training, and I'm gonna use it to find those Pidgey," Malachi says.

Then Mew asks, "Can you squeeze a few passengers in with you?"

But Denjiro says, "This could be dangerous, Malachi! Let me go instead!"

It's soon revealed that Malachi, Mew and the others are already in the air.

"Somebody has to stay here and wait in case the Pidgey come back! Don't worry, grandpa! I can handle it!" Malachi says.

"But you're not ready for a job like this!" Denjiro calls out.

"You weren't ready when you were my age, either! But you went ahead anyway! Just give me the chance!" Malachi says.

Denjiro grows concerned, "But, Malachi!"

"See you soon, grandpa!" Malachi calls out.

Malachi starts up the propeller and the blimp moves forward.

"Malachi," Denjiro says in concern.

"Don't worry! We're gonna help you find your Pidgey, too!" Mew calls out.

Molly then asks, "How are we going to find the Pidgey?

"Molly's right. Those carrier Pidgey could've gone in a hundred different directions," Misty says.

"Simple, a Flying Pokemon Search Party," Mew says.

She then calls out, "Pidgeot! Noctowl! Aerodactyl! Chatot!"

Soon, all the Pokemon come out.

"Alright everyone, I need your help to find missing carrier Pidgeys!" Mew says.

The Pokemon agree and head off in different directions.

"That's a great idea!" Misty says.

They soon fly off.

Mew calls out, "Malachi! Just follow that Noctowl!"

Malachi begins to follow Noctowl.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket is flying above the city in their Balloon, revealing that they have the carrier Pidgey captured in a bag beneath the balloon.

Meowth soon spots a Pidgey, "Dere's another carrier Pidgey spotted— 50 yards dead ahead!"

"This is almost too easy. We float around to catch dozens of Pidgey with no muss, no fuss and for once, no annoying twerps to deal with," Jessie says.

And James says, "And don't forget, Jess, we get to keep whatever our feathered friends happen to be carrying."

"That's a little secret the boss doesn't need to know about," Jessie says.

And Meowth says, "We still got Pokémon ta swipe! Quit gappin' an' keep grabbin'!"

"Aye aye, sir!" James says and brings out the remote, "Pidgey retriever system activated," and presses the button.

The remote activates a vacuum under the balloon and sucks the Pidgey right into the bag.

"Bagged another one!" James says.

"One more Pidgey in carrier Pidgey carrier!" Jessie says.

"Let's see if dere's any more flyin' around up here," Meowth says. Soon, spots trouble for them though the binoculars, "Hey! It's dem! Aah!"

"Let me see," Jessie says and takes the binoculars and growls as she spots the search party, "Just our luck! It's the twerps!"

"If they see our balloon, there's sure to be trouble!" James says.

And Jessie says, "Then we better get out of here on the double."

But Meowth grins and says, "Not too worry teammates, I prepared for just dis sort of sitchiation!"

"Huh?" Jessie and James reply confused.

"We're gonna disappear, intah thin air!" Meowth says and presses the button.

Soon, smoke pours out from the sides, which doesn't exactly inspire confidence for Jessie and James' part.

Jessie cries out, "Help, the balloon's on fire!"

"I'm too young to fry!" James panics.

But Meowth says, "Take it easy, I got ya covered!" and soon, the smoke covers the balloon.

Rejoining Mew and her friends, they're still searching for the Pidgey, and don't notice the balloon.

"We gotta hurry. We gotta find those Pidgey before they get too far!" Mew says.

"Yeah. But I don't see them anywhere," Brock says.

Soon, Noctowl and the other Pokemon join back together when Nocotowl notices something strange about the cloud.

Just then, Ken says, (I can sense the others.)

"They must be narby," Mew says.

"You're right, but all I see is clouds," Brock says.

"With my brand new nimble nimbus instant cloud cover machine, those little brats will never spot our balloon again," Meowth says.

Jessie coughs, "Meowth, I can't breathe!"

"What if we choke?!" James asks, coughing.

"Quit complainin'! It ain't that bad. Da smoke clouds okay tah breath if dose kids get lost in a hurry. But dere's a cumulus effect!" Meowth says, and begins coughing.

Up ahead, the group continues to search for the carrier Pidgey.

"I don't see them," Mew says.

"Nothing in the sky but clouds," Brock says.

"I just can't figure it out," Malachi says, and turns to Ken, "Where could all the Pidgey have disappeared too, Ken?"

Soon, Noctowl, Ken, and the other Flying Pokemon head to the cloud.

Malachi calls out, "Ken, what are you doing? It's only a cloud."

"Maybe, but there sure is something weird about it," Mew says.

The Pokemon then perform a powerful gust to chase the clouds away to reveal Team Rocket and their balloon. Everyone is shocked.

"What's going on here?!" Malachi cries out.

"It's them!" Jen cries out.

Team Rocket begins the motto, even when coughing.

Jessie: (coughs)

Prepare for trouble by backing off!

James: (hacks)

I'd like to get rid of this hacking cough!

Jessie:

To protect the world from devastation.

James:

To unite all peoples within our nation.

Jessie:

To denounce the evils of truth and love.

James:

To extend our reach to the stars above.

Jessie:

Jessie.

James:

James.

Jessie:

Team Rocket. blast off at the speed of light!

James:

Surrender now. or prepare to fight, fight, fight!

Meowth:

Meowth... dat's right!

Soon, the smoke clears to reveal Team Rocket along with their Meowth Balloon, and also the sack full of the stolen carrier Pidgey.

Meowth sighs, "Next time, I'll no bettah dan to keep my head in da clouds!"

"Oh as bad as that was, it taught us all an important lesson," Jessie says.

"It may be cloudy, but our motto always shines through," James says.

"WOBBUFFET!" (Every time!) Wobbuffet says.

"Yes, that's right, Wobbuffet, I..." Jessie says.

But soon realizes, "Hey! Who asked for your opinion? You're never right!"

"Wobbuffet!" (Sorry, Jess! Wobbuffet apologizes.)

It's them again!" Mew calls out.

Soon, Misty notices, "Hey, look down there!"

Everyone spot the sack containing the captured Pidgey

"Something's in that bag!" Malachi says.

Mew soon realizes, "It must be the Pidgey! Team Rocket's trying to steal em!"

Malachi calls out, "What do you think you're doing?! Give me back those Pidgey!"

Jessie then brings out her Pokeball, "No way, flyboy! You're not getting any of these Pidgey back without a battle! Go, Arbok!"

Mew calls out, "Jessie, I don't think that's a..."

But Jessie throws the Pokeball and Arbok plummets, causing Team Rocket to scream and panic before catching it by the tail.

Jessie struggles, "Quick! Use your Poison Sting attack!"

Arbok rears up and fires, but Ken and the other Pokemon dodge the attack, but the attack is focused on Ken.

"Ken!" Malachi calls out.

Mew calls out, "Quick Noctowl, use Hypnosis!"

Noctowl flies in and uses Hypnosis as Jessie calls out, "Use Poison Sting on the twerp patrol, too!"

As the attack launches, Team Rocket feels the effect of Noctowl's Hypnosis.

"Suddenly I feel less nefarious," Jessie says

"Wobb-uffet!" (And real mellow!) Wobbuffet says.

Turns out Team Rocket is facing the wrong way as Arbok attacks and they drift off.

"Looks like Team Rocket's drifting off again..." Team Rocket says, dazed.

"They're acting goofier than they usually do," Misty says.

Mew chuckles, "Mew's Hypnosis really worked on them."

"Noctowl knocked them for a loop!" Molly says.

Tomo and Jen begin laughing.

"Now's our chance to try and rescue the Pidgey!" Brock says.

"Let's do it, Ken! We gotta get out friends out of that bag, and fast!" Malachi says.

Ken then flies ahead.

"Hurry, everyone, before Noctowl's Hypnosis wears off!" Mew calls out.

Noctowl and the rest of the Flying Pokemon fly ahead and Ken tries to pull the bag open.

"Ken! Pull harder!" Malachi says.

Noctowl and the other Pokemon do the same.

"You gotta get them out! There's not much time!" Mew calls out.

Finally, the Flying Pokemon ripe holes in the bag

"Alright!" Malachi cheers.

Misty happily says, "The Pidgey are finally free!"

Mew calls out, "Hurry Pidgey, fly away!"

All the Pidgey fly out and Team Rocket hasn't a clue to what's going on.

Jessie says, dazed, "You're doing splendidly."

(Really good!) Wobbuffet says.

Keep it up, Arbok," James says.

"Hey, I wonder why all those Poison Stings ain't hoiten them," Meowth says.

Soon, the effect of the Hypnosis finally wears off.

Jessie asks, "Where did they go?"

Soon, Team Rocket hears something behind them and sees all the Pidgey on the wing.

Jessie and James cry out, "Hey!"

"How'd the Pidgey get outta the bag?!" Meowth asks.

"And how did those little tweps get over there?!" Jessie demands.

Meowth soon realizes who's responsible, "It was Noctowl!"

"Instead of battling them, we must've been battling one of Noctowl's Hypnosis illusions!" James cries out.

"Wobb-uffet!" (We've been duped!) Wobbuffet says.

Team Rocket soon panic when they see the Pidgey staring at them in anger.

"Dem Pidgey don't look too happy!" Meowth panics.

"Wobb-uffet!" (You said it!) Wobbuffet says.

"Strike up that propeller!" James says.

Soon, Team Rocket makes a hasty retreat.

"Quick, Mew! We can't let em get away!" Malachi calls out.

Then Mew says, "Pikachu! Eevee! Use Thunderbolt!"

Pikachu and Eevee use their attack and shock Team Rocket.

Mew calls out, "Go get em, everyone!"

And Malachi calls out, "Everybody, let's go!"

All the flying Pokemon fly forward

Meowth cries out, "They're heading for the balloon!"

The flock begins to peck the balloon as Team Rocket tries to make them stop. But soon, multiple holes are peck into the balloon.

"Our beautiful Pidgey plan is ruined!" Jessie panics.

"It's going up in smoke!" Meowth freaks out.

James exclaims, "Did you have to mention smoke?"

Soon, Team Rocket is being blasted off as they scream, "Team Rocket's blasting off again!"

"We did it!" Mew cheers.

"The Pidgey did great!" Malachi says.

Then turn to Ken, "Well, Ken, you really earned your wings."

Everyone laughs at Malachi's joke.

Later, they arrive at the Pokemon Center

"Thank you all so much for bringing this medicine. Now I'll be able to nurse all the sick and injured Pokemon back to health!" Nurse Joy says.

The Pidgey warble and chirp as a thank you.

"And thanks to all of you for saving the Pidgey. I'm so grateful," Nurse Joy says.

Malachi happily says, "Just doing our job. As the Pidgey Express man would say, we always deliver!"

Soon, Mew and the others return to the city. Meanwhile, Denjiro gets a call from Nurse Joy about the delivery.

"That's great news, Nurse Joy! They all got there safe and sound. What a relief," Denjiro says.

"I just wanted to call and thank you personally. Because of your carrier Pidgey and that grandson of yours, all the sick and injured Pokemon are getting well again," Nurse Joy says.

In the center, the Pokemon are feeling a lot better.

Denjiro says, "Well, I'm glad the Pidgey Express could help. Thanks again for calling, Nurse Joy. Bye, now." and hangs up the phone, "Malachi came through, just like he said."

The next day, Malachi is looking out on the horizon and sees Ken returning from his delivery.

"Ken did it! Ken!" Malachi happily says.

Ken soon comes in for a landing.

"Now you're ready to become a full-fledged member of the carrier Pidgey Corp!" Malachi says.

"Well, looks like Malachi can handle the Pidgey himself, now," Mew says.

"I guess he learned a lot about training Pidgey from his grandfather," Brock says.

"It's too bad he won't be able to pass along what he's learned to his grandchildren," Misty says.

Denjior has heard what Misty said and looks at his grandson.

Malachi chuckles, "Cut it out! That tickles!"

"Malachi?" Denjiro says.

Malachi turns to Denjiro, "Yes? What is it, grandpa?"

"I'm thinking about who will run the business when I retire," Denjiro says.

Malachi asks, "Does that mean you're gonna let me take over and be the Pidgey Express Man?"

"It's possible, I suppose, if you prove to be a professional," Denjiro says.

Malachi cheers, "Yay! Yay!"

Mew and the others grin happily at the news.

"I'm pretty professional!" Malachi says.

"If this gets you all excited, you're still an amateur, and a Pidgey Express man is professional!" Denjiro says.

Malachi salutes, "Yes, sir! I'll try my best to become a professional like you!"

"Now, THAT'S a little more like it. Carry on, Malachi. You've got a lot to learn," Denjiro says and walks away

"Right!" Malachi says

"Congratulations, Malachi," Mew says.

"Looks like you'll carry on family tradition," Brock says.

You deserve to," Misty says.

"Yay!" Tomo, Jen, and Molly cheer.

"Thanks," Malachi says.

The Pokemon says (Great job, Ken.)

Ken warbles, (Thank you, Pikachu.)

Later that evening, Mew and her friends are on their way again.

"Bye, Malachi!" Misty calls out.

"See ya!" Brock says.

"Good luck with your Pidgey!" Mew says.

Tomo calls out, "Bye Ken!"

"Good luck on being the official carrier!" Jen says.

"Goodbye!" Molly calls out.

Malachi waves goodbye, "Thanks a lot, guys!"

Mew and her friends continue to say goodbye to their new friends, they know the future of the Pidgey Express is in good hands. They soon continue on their journey.
