A/N: Whatever Rainbow saw (read to find out) wasn't originally what she was supposed to see, I thought it was a little too soon so I changed it. Just a heads up before you read. Enjoy :)
After 3 and a half days of not being at Sweet Apple Acres, she finally entered the front door with her house keys in her hand. After closing the door behind her, she hung her keys on the key rack and seen that are 3 family members were all in the living room; Big mac, Applebloom and Granny Smith.
"Applejack!!" Applebloom shouted before running up to her and giving her a big hug. Applejack looked down at her little sister with a genuine smile. She chuckled and hugged back.
"Hey Applebloom." She suddenly spoke.
"How was your little trip?" Granny asked, sitting in her rocking chair as usual. She was looking at her oldest granddaughter with a soft smile on her face, Big mac smiled at her as well.
"It was fun," She said with a smile. "We did a lot of things The food at the hotel was good too, I'd do it again to be honest." Applejack continued, still keeping her smile.
"That sounds like fun! You should've taken me sis." Applebloom said. Applejack looked down at her little sister and giggled.
"I would've, but it was only for the big kids." Applejack replied. Applebloom raised an eyebrow at her older sister, whilst looking up at her. She looked at her as if she wasn't speaking English.
"Umm hello?? I am a big kid." Applebloom said. Applejack shook her head and laughed, now Applebloom was irritated.
"Ehh..not really." Applejack said, then she started laughing again. Applebloom rolled her eyes. To be specific about her age, she's 9.
"Applejack...How did you get home?" Granny asked.
"Well, Caramel dropped us off at Sugarcube corner first. Then he offered me a ride back home afterwards." She replied.
"Aww now ain't that sweet, such a gentleman." Granny said with a smile. Applejack scratched the back of her neck and blushed slightly.
"Yeah...that was mighty nice of him. But he really didn't have to." Applejack said with a shrug.

After spending some time with her family downstairs, taking a shower, etc, Applejack went upstairs to her room and shut the door behind her. She walked over to her bed and laid down on her stomach. She sat her phone somewhere near her on her bed, she didn't touch again after that. Not to check the time or anything. She sat there, thinking.
She was thinking about her best friend, how she just walked off saying "i'm fine" knowing for a fact that she wasn't fine. She saw the tears and the pain in her eyes, Rainbow usually hides her tears and the pain. But something that had happened caused it to be hard to hide the pain. Even when she was able to hide the pain at times, Applejack could still sense that something was wrong. She knew Rainbow for entirely too long. Applejack was upset about that thought, she didn't like seeing Rainbow upset. Remembering what she told her before she left made her more upset.
'..Wish I could say the same thing about my best friend.'
What did she mean by that? Rainbow knows her better than anybody knows her.Applejack didn't admit it, but it did hurt her feelings. She just pretended everything was fine after she left. Her friends were constantly asking her if she was okay. She would either say, "Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking." Or "I'm fine, nothing to worry about." But in reality, she was unsure, worried and upset. She decided to not think about it any longer and go to sleep. She'll speak to Rainbow tomorrow.

The 7 friends had just came out of their first period and were now going to their lockers. Applejack still didn't ask Rainbow what had happened yesterday, she wanted to wait for a while. She scanned Rainbow's outfit for a moment, in confusion. She had on a black long sleeve sweater and light blue shorts. True, it was a good outfit. Everything matched perfectly. But why was Rainbow wearing a long sleeves sweater in spring when it's nearly 90 degrees outside?
"Rainbow, aren't you hot?" Pinkie asked, she also looked at her outfit and was also confused.
"True, the outfit is simply amazing darling. But...You do know it's nearly 90 degrees outside right? And not all classrooms have air conditioners." Rarity said, adding on to what Pinkie said. Rainbow looked tense with the questions that were thrown at her. She looked like she was in..thoughts? What was she thinking about?
"Oh uhh.." Rainbow spoke, finally finding her voice again. Then she continued, "I...didn't exactly check the degrees today. I didn't know how hot it was until I went outside. But..." She trailed off after that. She was in thoughts again. Yeah, Rainbow was definitely lying. Applejack could see it all in her face.
"But??" Pinkie asked.
"...I didn't wanna take off the outfit because of how good it looked. I didn't wanna waste a good outfit..you know?" Rainbow said, concluding her statement. She ended it with a nervous laugh and scratched the back of her neck. Something had caught Applejack's eye when Rainbow lifted her arm up. Rainbow was never the type to wear bracelets. The only bracelets she really wore was the one she gave her for her birthday, the one her parents or this rainbow bracelet with beads with all the colors of the rainbow; the color of her hair. But she had some extra ones on. She wasn't even wearing the one Applejack gave her. Pretty surprising because she wears it often.
Everyone was still looking at her, they were all unsure. She didn't seem calm while she was speaking. Was something wrong?
"Dash, can I pull you to the side for a second?" Applejack suddenly asked. Rainbow looked up at Applejack and smiled slightly. Applejack could've sworn that was a fake smile she just pulled.
"Sure." She replied before walking up to Applejack. She grabbed Rainbow by her wrist gently and pulled her to the side, she wasn't that far from the others. Rainbow saw the look on Applejack's face, which made her smile go away. She now had a worried look on her face. Applejack had a worried look on her face as well, she can also tell that Applejack was being serious.
"What's wrong AJ?" Rainbow asked, looking into the eyes of her best friend. She tried not to get lost in them as she was looking in them, because she knew it happened everytime she did. Which resulted her to zone off and ignoring her surroundings. Even though things were very complicated, Rainbow still had feelings for Applejack. She didn't know how deep her feelings were yet, but she still liked her regardless.
"No. I should be asking you what's wrong. Yesterday you just ran off without an explanation. What's going on RD? I'm your best friend, you know you could tell me anything right?" Applejack said. Applejack was being serious, at least she was showing she was genuinely concerned. It showed that she cared about Rainbow. But Rainbow couldn't have the guts to tell her why. She couldn't even tell her what was going on in her life currently. So why would she tell her what went on yesterday.
"I should be asking you the same thing. You know you can tell me anything AJ," Rainbow replied, still keeping eye contact with her. Applejack was confused. Last time she checked, this was about Rainbow and not her. "And if you think I'll tell you what's going on when you can't even tell me what be going on with you, then you're crazy. Real crazy." Rainbow chuckled, although nothing was funny. It was far from funny.
"Rainbow..what are you talking about?? Of course I tell you what be going on."
"LIE AGAIN!" Rainbow shouted, she shot a mean glare at Applejack. But she didn't mean to get loud with Applejack, it wasn't intentional. That's a sign that she was getting mad and when she gets mad, things aren't good. Applejack on the other hand, was shocked and concerned. Her face said it all.
"Rainbow I really don't understand. You're making it seem like there's something I'm not telling you." Applejack said, remaining calm. Even though she knew Rainbow wasn't all the way calm, she still remained patient.
"Oh, so you're assuming that I know what happened in-" Before Rainbow could finish her sentence, the bell rung. It was time for the second period. Rainbow didn't say "I gotta get to class", "I'll talk to you later.", Nothing. She just walked away, without saying another word. Whule the rest of the girls were on their way to class, Sunset waited for Applejack to come towards her. Once she did, she opened her mouth to speak.
"What was that all about? Why was Rainbow yelling?" Sunset asked.
"It's nothing important Sunset, it wasn't intentional." Applejack simply told her. Sunset had a worried look on her face after that, unsure if she should believe that or not.
"You sure? Ever since she left Sugarcube corner yesterday, there's no telling if that girl is okay or not. I believe she's hiding something." Sunset said. Sunset was right about that one. But what if it was a family matter?? She still could've told her.
"Nahhh Sunset." Applejack said sarcastically, throwing her hands up in the air. Then she sighed, "I'm sure sugarcube." Applejack said. Sunset looked at her for a second, observing her facial expression. She couldn't make out whether she was telling the truth or not. But she assumed she was, she's the element of honesty. But something just doesn't seem right.
"Alright..if you say so." Sunset replied. "Also, no need to get sarcastic with me." She said with a chuckle, Applejack giggled.
"It was obvious Sunset."

Applejack had just come home after a long day at school. Worse part was, she had homework to do. She sighed in annoyance and shook her head. She came into the house along with her little sister. Big mac got out of school a little later then they did, he was in college. She came home seeing Granny in the living room watching tv.
"Hey girls, how was school?" Granny asked, smiling at her two granddaughters.
"It was good Granny. I don't have any homework today!" Applebloom said. Applejack sighed silently, she wished school was so simple.
"Well how about you Applejack?" Applejack heard Granny said a little bit after she zoned off.
"O-Oh umm...s-school was good granny." She replied, smiling.
"You sure?"
"I'm sure granny." Applejack said. Granny smiled at both Applejack and Applebloom and nodded.
"Alright ya'll, go ahead and make yourself comfortable or whatever. I'll be in the living room if you need me." Granny said.

Applejack had just finished with all of her homework. It was only from 3 classes. Luckily, two out of three were easy. But she sat at her desk for a little longer; thinking. She came to realize, her and Rainbow haven't had a sleepover in a minute. With just them to be exact, she thought maybe if they had a sleepover on the weekend she'd feel better. Although she didn't know what was wrong, she figured it would fix the situation a little bit.
She decided she was gonna call her, just to talk to her and see how she was doing. Hopefully it isn't awkward like it was at school today. After that little "talk" they had earlier, they didn't speak for the rest of the day. They just shared glances for a couple of minutes that felt like seconds.
She finally got up from her desk and laid on her bed. She opened her phone and went to Rainbow's contact. Which said "Bestfriend" with a few emojis. She saw the contact picture with her and Rainbow smiling. She saw how genuine Rainbow smile was, she missed it more than words could describe.
Lately, there's been a lot going on between the two. It hasn't been that long, ever since they left Appleloosa things started going wrong. Also ever since...her and Caramel started seeing each other more often. Which was pretty strange. She finally pressed the call button. It rung a few times before Rainbow answered.
"Oh..um..hey AJ, what's up?" She heard Rainbow say on the phone, her voice sounded like she was just crying
"Rainbow...Why do you sound like that? Are you okay?"
"I-I'm fine AJ..really. I...I'm not sure why you're worrying so much." Applejack stayed quiet for a moment. Her voice sounded unsteady, she knew she was lying. There was no way she was fine. Applejack was tired of this, she decided that she was gonna come over so she could open up.
"Rainbow, I'm coming over." She said before hanging up the phone, without giving her a chance to say another word.
✰✰✰
Applejack was at Rainbow's house, she was now standing by the front door. She knocked on the door a few times, she waited for a few seconds for the door to be answered by a specific rainbow haired girl that's her best friend, or her father. She door was opened by Rainbow Dash.
"Hey AJ." Rainbow said. She even looked like she was crying. She was wearing a black hoodie and black shorts.
"Hey RD, can I come in?"
"Sure." She said before stepping out the doorway to let her in. She closed the door and locked it behind her. "My dad's still at work, in case you were wondering." Rainbow said before they both went to go sit down on the couch. Rainbow and Applejack looked at each other, not saying anything right away. They were waiting for the other one to speak. Eventually, Applejack spoke.
"Rainbow, I know something's wrong. Please just tell me the truth, you ain't gotta tell the girls. I'm here for you." Applejack told her, she was genuinely concerned. Rainbow could tell she was, but she couldn't even tell her something that she knew for a fact she was hiding.
"I should be telling you the same. I know you got something to tell me about Applejack, and the girls. I'm not slow, I'm just refusing to believe it."
"Believe what Rainbow? I don't know what you're talking about." Applejack replied. Rainbow gave her a stone look, she stared at her for what seemed like minutes. Applejack gulped nervously as she was looking at her, not knowing what else to say.
"Oh yeah? So what's this?" Rainbow said as she pulled out something that was Applejack's. Applejack's eyes widened. Uh oh.
"Is-Is that my sh-"
"Yes. It is."
"But it's a shirt Rainbow. What does my shirt have to do with anything?? Why do you even have it?!" Applejack said. She raised her voice at her, what was she doing with her shirt?
"Why was it on the floor in the hotel room?? Huh?! Because it wasn't there before you and Caramel went in there." Rainbow started to raise her voice too. She immediately calmed down. She took a deep breath and exhaled softly. She looked at Applejack with a calm look. She wasn't gonna yell, shoot a mean glare or anything.
"I'm sorry AJ, I should've never raised my voice at you. I didn't mean to I'm just..." Rainbow trailed off. The eye contact Applejack and Rainbow had ended because Rainbow looked away, Applejack was still looking at her. Applejack was really worried about Rainbow, she hoped she would get through whatever was going on, even if it was without her. She saw Rainbow wipe her tears away.
"It's fine sugarcube. I know you didn't mean it." Applejack replied, her voice was soft. Rainbow finally looked up at Applejack again, still looking at her with a soft look. She sighed.
"Applejack." Rainbow said, finding her voice again. Her facial expression went from soft to sincere.
"Yes?"
"What happened in that room?"
